Bill's Reading Restaurant in Ewo

I ordered the 8oz sirloin steak, medium rare, sided with some chips. Steak was not medium rare but chips were good. Also ordered a cappuccino and it was just milk. No coffee taste at all.And horrid customer service by one of their servers, talking at a very high volume. Recieved a call mid-meal and she literally just said ”desert?” twice loudly whilst I was clearly wearing headphones and talking. Not important though.In conclusion, bad customer service, bad steak.

I went with my friends for brunch during weekend and we had a great experience. The food was very tasty and we had excellent service. Our waiter sofroni was very friendly and polite and he made great recommendations for our drinks order. Drinks were amazing! We are definitely going there again!

If youve never been here before, then please arrange to come. The food is so delicious and excellent service. Staff very bubbly. No delay in bringing your food. Served by Sof who made me feel so welcome.

Breakfast was good, coffee arrived after my food, asked for the bill 3 times before receiving it, so overall not great. My biggest annoyance though is the service charge that is automatically added to your bill, we are not in the USA! A tip should be a personal choice based on the service received, not added before you make that choice

Eleven of us from four families had breakfast here. I had the big brunch. There were listed items missing. Nothing on the plate could be described as piping hot. When it came time to get the bill and asked could it be split we were told it could be but wed have to do that ourselves. So we found a menu and worked out what each family had and put it together to find the total short as there was an unnotified additional 12.5% service charge. ON BREAKFAST!!!!Definitely feel robbed.

Ive eaten here several times and each time the service gets a little bit worse. The food is good though 4/5.Im giving this 2 stars because the service makes or breaks a meal and this time I had to stand outside for 15 mins only to be told I couldnt be seated for 1h45. You could have facilitated this much better instead of wasting peoples time.

Love eating at this franchise. I’ve eaten at several and have not been disappointed. They have something for everyone on the menu

We love going there for breakfast as their egg Royale is excellent as is the smashed avocado and poached eggs. Havent eaten lunch or dinner there for a while but when we have then, that too, has been very good. Only disappointment is the removal of the fish finger sandwich as it was fantastic

A fabulous lunch here with a few beers, staff all great if not a little eager to clear table while still eating. Not a problem and loved the soundings. Would definitely go back.

We had a large group and were seated in our own room, which was fantastic. I had the nduja meatballs with burrata and they were outstanding. Finished up with the chocolate brownie that was one of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend!

Id heard a lot of good stuff about Bills, so I was, I have to say, a little disappointed when I arrived. The portions are really small, though the quality of the food is good. The whole place is kind of kitschy, with chalkboard witticisms, while decor and crockery is tatty and worn, to give the impression that youre at an old friends house.People may like this sort of thing, and the service is really good, while the food is decent, but ultimately, I dont feel I need to pay a lot of money for a worn out look.Update 2022: its still pretty similar. Not cheap and a bit gimmicky. Their Mediterranean breakfast was kind of interesting but lacking in flavour.

The place is so beautiful and relaxing, the food so exquisite. We had breakfast there and we really liked it.

Visited this place for the first time today for my daughter’s birthday. We had an amazing breakfast here. I’ve cross this place so many times but I thought that this is a pub and never realised that they also saw one of the best breakfasts in Reading. The street parking has been closed today and therefore we parked at the Oracle and walked from there. Otherwise there’s plenty of street parking around on the Hozier Street as well as on the main road. The staff is very courteous and the service is very quick. Food is outstandingly delicious! Next time I’m going to try lunch here and I see that they have an amazing bar so I have to try beer as well.

We live 2 min away and it is out favorite weke end brunch spot. The food quality and taste is amazing, the interior looks royal and the staff is very friendly, what more can you ask for?

How can you forget eggs when you order them? It gets better how can you go get your eggs and then come back and ask how would you like your eggs? Mmmm ? Me thinks some training is required. It’s a good job I was in a good mood and I love Bills

Popin here for lunch today and told the waiter I had allergies. And straight away the manager came over. He made sure he told his staff so they were aware. And Chefs behind the scenes. It was nice to eat somewhere instead of worrying I was going to be ill. Thank you so much I appreciate this. See you again soon.

Really beautiful setting, great atmosphere and loved decor. The food was amazing, we took the dog which is really nice to see how accommodating they are.

I was really surprised at how nice this place was. Been to many places in reading, and weve walked past this place many times. Pretty busy which usually is a good sign.Had breakfast here, lovely food, friendly staff and had a nice relaxing hour. Will come again for sure.

Good food but service was a bit unfriendly I would say. The food was excellent with good space inside. The waitress struggled to smile (hence earlier commentwhich was a shame as the food was served relatively quickly and was really nice. I will go back and hopefully bigger smiles await! Worth a look though

Enjoyed my pancakes and the attention to allergies. Thought the staff were a bit unattentive but maybe it was because it was so busy. Nice food, clean area. Dont sit by the plants outside they are a bit scratchy and uncomfortable after a bit, all good though just minor bits.

Lovely cappuccino and stack of pancakes from the breakfast menu. Seemed a bit under staffed but service was acceptable although 12.5% added to the bill (saw it said optional after I had paid but beware if having a large mealpancakes could have done with a bit more maple syrup were slightly dry. Wod visit again though. Quiet place for the centre of town.

Popped in one morning for breakfast and we liked the vibe and the decor of this Bills. We had two kids with us - kids enjoyed their meals (pancakes and scrambled eggs). The grown ups also enjoyed their meals - The Garden breakfast was immense but delicious!

Quirky venue. Eclectic decor. Friendly staff. Not the run of the mill menu, so some different choices to have a go at. We ordered 3 different dishes and all were lovely. Will definitely visit again. Recommend!

Just walked in for breakfast, both Saturday and Sunday, managed to get a table outside. Very nice poached eggs for breakfast, classical Benedict (w/Wiltshire ham), Royal (w/smoked salmonand Avocado. "Optional" service fee is added without asking, guess were moving towards US model...

We had a lovely evening meal in the courtyard on a balmy evening.Just called in on the off chance as we didn’t know if they were dog friendly but they were! Inside too although lots of space and lovely attentive, welcoming staff combined with delicious food made for a fantastic evening.

Friendly and attentive staff, nice coffee.Unfortunately, the breakfast was very disappointing. The first attempt was served cold and although the dish was replaced quickly and without any fuss, the food just wasn’t worth eating.A Wetherspoons large breakfast is much better than this.The staff kindly struck my food from the bill and were very graceful. I suspect the terrible breakfast was a result of low quality ingredients and frozen produce.

Breakfast /brunch was good. Food quality, presentation and taste was good. I ordered the stack of pancakes with fresh fruits and a hot chocolate. Highly recommended and due for another visit.

Had a nice family meal here. Interior and the building are lovely. Felt like they might have been short staffed because service was a bit hit and miss. Huge amount of choice on the menu but food wasn’t particularly flavoursome.

It only occurred to me when I was there that I hadnt had anything other than an evening meal at a Bills restaurants in the past! I have loved their dinners, and now I can say that their lunch is lovely too! My friends were also happy with the choice available for both food and drinks. Thank you

Went for breakfast with my 2 daughters, me & 1 daughter had the traditional breakfast, worst "fry up" we have ever had, nicest bit was the butter for my toast!!! Over priced too, more than £9 for 1 sausage, 3 very small rashers, an egg, about 5 small toms on vine & the same amount of mushrooms. Definately wont be going again

I have been here twice the first time was not a pleasant experience. The second time was any customer would look for in a restaurant. My family who came from overseas enjoyed it as well. Both food and outside atmosphere were brilliant.

I had read the reviews and thought this would be a nice place to take my family.Attended with my wife and children, staff had forgot to place my wife’s order and her food didn’t arrive until after everyone had finished theirs.There was no apologies what so ever.For staff and service.

Would not recommend.For a £20 meal - dry tasteless steak, uncooked chips with a few pieces of rocket as the salad was what we got.The food was horrible but my partner did not want me to make a fuss there and then so I state it here to warn others should they want to try this place. Tropical juice was fine so maybe their drinks is what the restaurant is known for.Took a long time to take our order and for it to finally arrive and be of poor standard and poor portion sizes for that price was a let down.This was our first and last time here.

I have came in there for breakfast, everything was delicious, everyone was very helpful and so kind.

We met up with some friends here for lunch. And it was a good choice. Bills rarely disappoint, and this visit was very pleasant. The meals were nicely prepared and just the right quantity. The seating outside made this a lovely meal.

Great food and nice location. Sunny weather as well so we got to dine alfresco but the inside is nicely decorated too.

Went in just for a cocktail and must say never had a better one anywhereOnly reason for 4 stars is that we havent eaten there but we will and Ill update you when we do🤞 for a 5 star because the place has a great vibe and the food looks superb

Excellent service, the staff here were amazing. There was a great choice of meals and they could easily accommodate larger parties. There is also a lovely outdoor area, perfect for sunny days.

The Bill’s at Reading is perfect for a group brunch or meal with friends. There are lots of options and the food is good. The restaurant had a great vibe and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful breakfast at Bills. Kasia our waitress brought our gorgeous hot chocolate (including a flake). My son loved his full English with extras as he doesnt like beans or mushrooms. My Eggs Benedict was lovely. Bills is a quirky restaurant with an interesting decor and great menu. The price is reasonable with service included in the bill, which is great as I never have change.

I popped in for a coffee before a job interview & was served by Greta... Outstanding quick service with complimentary chocolates & service with a smile... Would definitely recommend again... Visited a few months ago with my son & his girlfriend & lovely friendly service then too...

We had the best time. The food, the service and the atmosphere was amazing. The bread and olives was the perfect start to the evening. They were both moorish. My starter was fantastic too because of the kick it had wit chillie and spring onion . I had the sea bass and because I am allergic to milk they gave me sweet potato fries instead of the potato option which is cooked in milk. The sea bass was beautiful because it was cooked to perfection and the skin was crisp too. The dish blew me away. This place is a must on anyone’s restaurant to eat list.

We celebrated my birthday here and were not disappointed. The team were very welcoming and the surroundings inside were fantastic, always something to look at with the decor.Accommodated our daughter who is two.The sharing plate and margaritas were amazing!

It was raining in Reading last Saturday afternoon and i needed a place to wait whilst my husband had his Covid jab. I saw a sign outside Bills saying festive cocktail, £2.99. What? £2.99 for a cocktail, that cant be right!?I went in and found a lovely table by a fireplace. The cocktail soon came and it was amazing, beautifully decorated and tasted delicious. This tempted me to look at the food menu. It was approaching 5pm and they were changing menus. I text my husband and asked him to join me when he finished his jab, as we hadnt booked anywhere.SO glad we decided to stay and eat as the food was simply outstanding. We eat out ALOT and most of the time come away feeling dissatisfied or short-changed, but everything about Bills was perfect. We shared the mezze starter and my hubby had the festive burger which he said was the best hes ever had (hes a burger expert). We finished with the festive Xmas cheesecake served in a real plant pot!Everything about our experience was amazing, from the food, to the ambience and the service. So much so that I will be organising a festive group dinner there next year!

My boss was so kind to invite us to this place. The interior design is great and you felt like being in someone’s place. The food is very delicious and a big variety is served here. Everyone will find something here and the service is excellent. You can feel that the staff wants to do their very best to make you feel comfortable- want to come again as soon as I can

When I attended this place, it was very crowded.The tables were too close together to the point where it was not comfortable. I was told that there was only one table available, but it was not alluring to have a meal in such close proximity to other people.In that particular section of the restaurant, it was entirely too packed and I have seen few restaurants in which people are just too close together.I am giving this place five stars because the member of staff with whom I interacted was so lovely and friendly.

I love the interior of this place is very beautiful and incredibly unique ✨ the food was alright not Amazing it’s quite standard in my opinion specially the breakfast 🍳 obviously it depend on what you order, but I heard the egg Benedict is nice. I like the verity of healthy options that they have🌱But I feel the main attraction is the interior. It has a very nice and joyful vibe. Everywhere you look you find something interesting✨ it is one of a kind experienceThe Wi-Fi is also good and the service is quite fast and the staff are very friendly and accommodating!

I went for breakfast yesterday with my friends and that was not the first time as I like the place and the food. This time our experience was a bit different though as the service was really poor. The waitress was very strange and out of nowhere she asked us if we were ready for the bill just 10-15 minutes after the food was served. We said we wanted more time and just one minute after she cleaned the table. In the meantime, we had ordered some extra bread and butter which they never remembered to serve. Other than that, the sun was shiny and had our coffee elsewhere.

I was pleasantly surprised with my coffee & brunch at Bills recently sitting outside. The outdoor space and indoor decor have been revamped in recent times, and it looks great. The coffee was nice and strong, eggs yummy and staff friendly. I’d been put off this chain a number of years ago - perhaps a symptom of its own success in London and swing to independents - but this recent experience has won Bills back for me. I’ll definitely have it on my coffee & brunch radar again now.
