Contemporary European chain dishing up separate breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch and dinner menus.
Great food, and service was good.
We had arrived and ordered prior to 6pm while the restaurant was quite empty but filled soon following due to the theatre. We waited over an hour for our mains watching people all around us who arrived after us eating first. Waitress explained that burgers are apparently easier to make. Our cocktails came after our starter arrived and were terrible...Bartender didnt know how to make a whiskey sour or old fashioned, looked up on google how to make...Food was otherwise quite delicious and the waitress was friendly and apologetic. I might return with a chance for ol Bill to redeem himself.
Huge portions and nice flavor. One thing I didnt like (the first of two times I went thereis that, as soon as I was sitted, they offered some water. I said yes and they brought a bottle which ended up costing 2.95. Thats not a small amount, they should be more clear and upfront about their upselling.
I was at Bills yesterday for lunch. There was a delay with my food arriving and I could not have had a better service. The waitresses were all so friendly, and kept coming and apologising. The manager actually came over to our table and apologised profusely. He then personally delivered our food and again apologised and offered us a compensation for the delay. I shall definitely be returning to this restaurant very soon. Afterall in life things happen but its how its dealt with. Thanks to the amazing team at Bills in Holborn. All the staff are friendly and polite. And the food tasted delish. Definitely returning soon and well worth the wait. Told everyone in the office and we are now planning our next team lunch there.
Very good breakfast. Very Nice staff !
Me and my colleagues went there for a baby shower. The staff were helpful and very friendly. I didnt think I would enjoy the food and I really did. I had the macaroni cheese with bacon. Yummy! It came with a lovely side salad and chunky slice of focaccia bread. It was so plentiful that I asked for a doggy bag. Im hoping theres a Bills on deliveroo or ubereats in my area so I can try something else on the menu
Good food! Fast service and menu for celiacs!
We walked in at 5:30pm on a Saturday night and were seated straight away (table for two). The gentleman that served us (I’m assuming he was the managerwas so friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. There’s some really great choices on the menu, and they had a separate veganuary menu, which was a nice touch. My partner ordered the halloumi burger and I had the chicken with mushroom sauce. The meals came out in really good time, I think we only waited about 15 minutes. The meals were lovely, with generous portions. The prices were really reasonable for London, too. Really glad we chose to come here for food, and we would definitely return next time we come to London.
Great restaurant, lots of room, friendly staff and good service, best of all was the food.
The food was delicious though a little bit slow serving at times. Service overall was great from our waitress and we were well looked after, however the person serving the food from the kitchen could have been a bit clearer when saying the dish and been more gentle with delivery of the plates onto the table.
Bills tends to have good food, menu changes on occasion, but generally very solid/what you expect. Best part of this one is the fantastic service from Anya who is also possibly one of the funniest/most upbeat servers Ive ever met. She and Ama are consistently great and easygoing. Great to be able to visit this restaurant when in town from Los Angeles and get wonderful, kind service, and reliable food at a good price. Will be back when next in town!
The food seemed a little too oily and fatty. All the fried stuff tasted like it was made from re-frying in old oil. Did for poisoning to me. Ambience is fine, but then the food didnt actually appeal to us.
This was the second visit of our not-for-profit Meetup group (22 peoplefor an informal lunch enabling people to meet socially. The welcome and table service from Lola and Anya was very good. My partner and I had excellent food and others seemed to like it too. We had a pleasant area of the restaurant to ourselves and the feedback from members of the group was very positive. I am sure we will be back.
Absolutely solid good menu: quite a handful of really winning dishes, apart from just staple stake and chips. No long wait, sweet location, decent service.Only hesitating last star because its a chain. But top quality for a chain though! 👍
Visited Bills for a surprise baby shower for our friend yesterday. The staff couldnt have been more accommodating, especially seeing as we were quite a large group including a baby and toddler. We were given a private room and the tables were beautifully decorated. The food was excellent and the service was brilliant with very kind and helpful staff. Thank you very much.
Although I only visited for a cocktail and snack, this restaurant near the theatre district has an incredible menu. The staff were terrific in guiding me to some of the favorite choices.
Always a great menu, something for everyone no fuss. Really good service and chilled out atmosphere.
Our best meal the entire time we were in London. Twice we went there for delicious breakfasts. Their blackberry apple jam is delicious. Photo attached is of the vegetarian breakfast platter- unreal. The service and management was also supreme!
Yet another Bills restaurant and I was not disappointed. You just cannot go wrong in these restaurants. The food is a great standard and very good value for money. The interior is well designed too.
I had lunch al fresco with a colleague. We were seen to quite quickly. However there wasnt enough cutlery on the table,I ordered a fish finger sandwich, my colleague steak and eggs, both were served with fries which would have been perfect if they were cooked a little longer. I really wasnt impressed with my food, it seemed I had fish goujons which were overcooked, it wasnt appetising at all. I hardly ate.Service however was friendly and efficient. It did take a while to pay, so had to go into the venue. The interior looked nice, but a little dark. From what I could see, there were booths.I dont believe the food I ordered justified the price. Unfortunately this place was not for me.I would appreciate a thumbs up if you found this review helpful. Thank you 😊
Average. My vegan cous cous and vegan tortellini were fine, but apparently not so what my fellow colleagues ordered. Service seemed not optimal organized. Although some servants seemed perfect professionals the coordination among them was odd. I would suggest to look elsewhere.
I would give this place more stars if they were able to serve a full English gluten free breakfast and if some of the seating options were not in such close proximity to other customers. They have gluten free bread, but no gluten free sausages which is something fairly easily obtainable. Also, the gluten free bread isnt particularly nice. The staff are friendly enough, but Ive had at least 2 occasions where our waitress has misunderstood our order (despite explaining in detailand has taken the order incorrectly. The coffee is always good its just a shame that gluten free options seem to be a bit of an afterthought.
The food was okay but my salad was served in a badly chipped enamel bowl which I consider unhygienic and it actually put me off eating it. We were a party of 18 for an informal lunch get together and although we booked weeks ahead, we were placed near a section where the servers bought the used crockery and it was very noisy with a constant flow of serving staff. I had the nude burger which was tasty and the we had one of the shared starters which was fine too. The food and drinks were reasonably priced for central London, it was just a shame we were allocated such noisy tables especially as we were advised the Holborn branch had the most space for large parties.
Great as always. Every time I come to a Bills restaurant I am not disappointed. The food is good and plentyfull, atmosphere is great and the prices are good too. The staff is lovely and very attentive as well. Its a sure win if you are unsure where to eat in the city.
Decent food but nothing special, albeit the menu appetites your curiosity. The crew should honestly get trained again plus waiting time is like forever. We had to keep asking the waitress to serve food, although it just seemed like the were forgetting. Only real perk is the location.Definitely to be improved
Ive visited a few Bills restaurants around the country and thoroughly enjoy the food and drinks menu. They definitely have a great selection for everyone. Bills Holborn is in a good location and the staff are very friendly. We visited on a Saturday night and were seated quickly on the mezzanine floor. Unfortunately we did feel a little forgotten about as we did have to get the waiters attention to order, the drinks took quite a while to arrive, as did our food and then we had to get the waiters attention to pay the bill. I think there was only one waiter upstairs and he was having to cover a lot of tables so the service suffered because he was overstretched. We enjoyed the meal but just a little let down with service - they just need to have a couple more waiters on the top floor so everyone gets a speedy service. Thats why its a 4 star and not 5 this time.
A went here one weekday lunchtime with a colleague. It wasnt very busy but we were left standing at the entrance for at least 5 minutes before staff approached us (we had booked a table beforehand). The person who showed us to our table didnt seem thrilled to be there. Other than that the food was very nice - the standard Bills quality. Not in a hurry to return to this branch though due to the customer service.
Good place for a quick bite in busy London :lovely interior, ambience and atmosphere. Good service staff, and food was good too. I had the green coconut curry, but really wanted the pancakes a kid was eating in the table next to us. Looked delicious, maybe next time :)
Did enjoy the food, service and atmosphere on a Saturday night! Positive experience without any issues. Left happy and content.
Ive been to this restaurant twice now and it has been consistently poor and its customer service. The star seen and experienced inattentive difficult in operating effectively.the limited menu been mentioned by others and they are not capable of making an omelet. In fact I was asked what a number was. in winter its cold I suspect because it opens at 8 a.m. and its not heated up when you first arrived the breakfast in the morning.the main reason for me to come in whilst it was large and theres no queue and plenty of space but I think the fact that it is not busy is a testament to the fact that its not very good people dont come back
Weve only been once, after a visit to the nearby Peacock Theatre - but I expect well be back. The place was packed with young families of theatre goers but despite that the service was brilliant. The staff were particularly careful and attentive about allergies fit one of our party. The food we ordered was good and the atmosphere/decor good too. So, like I say, I expect well go back.
This place could accommodate an aeronautical museum so only a few waitstaff seemed overwhelmed. I was surprised at the lack of choice on a breakfast menu, especially in a city where every restaurant is catering even to vegans. I had buttermilk pancakes, but I had to ask for something other than savory (English breakfast etc). A full time breakfast restaurant should offer absolutely every option - I wanted some sort of cinnamon pastry with a bit of creaminess. The pancakes were delicious, though served with no additional syrup, and I had to ask because there wasnt enough syrup by a long stretch. So our meals were very good, just limited choices (out of the millions of breakfast choices possible! Then I wanted more coffee, but the waiter never came back to us. 😓 At least offer bottomless coffee!
Great food and quick service. The location is fantastic with the restaurant being fitted into the building sympathetically. The Bills IPA is absolutely worth trying as a great beer, hoppy and flavoursome but without being overpowering.
The waiter with the blonde manbun sighed when we arrived for breakfast and said we didnt have a reservation (who reserves breakfast!??Food was ok, my table of three had 6 poached eggs between us and only 1 was runny, rest where almost hard boiled!! Quality food otherwise. And not a fan of a 12.5 service charge sneaked onto a bill. Deffo didnt earn it when the people who sat down after us had their orders taken first.
Took the wife here for breakfast and it was the best we’d tasted in years. Everything was cooked perfectly and the portion sizes were good. The staff were on point and the whole experience led to us deciding that Bills was now our “go to” place for eating out for breakfast.
We didnt book ahead and there was no wait for dinner. Having only eaten breakfast here before I was delighted by the dinner options. There was a delicious spice to the ribs and the steak was cooked perfectly to order. Sides and drinks were a delicious compliment to the main. I would recommend eating at Bills Holborn if you are staying in the area.
Enjoyed the Salmon Benedict. Very tasty with quick and polite service.
Found this place on Yelp and am glad I tried it out. Great breakfast and friendly staff. The americano was great and so was the food. Stop here if you are in the area. You will not regret it. I arrived at 9am so it was not that busy but was not dead. Not a long wait for me.
Very disappointing, would not return. My friend had a birthday party at this branch recently, for which we pre-ordered food. When the first friend arrived and was seated, it took half an hour for anyone to even ask him if he wanted a drink. When the main party arrived the service was incredibly slow (at least 35 mins wait for anyone to come and ask if we wanted anything at all, and they refused to take orders at the bar), drinks that were ordered (when a waiter or waitress deigned to visit usfailed to arrive entirely, food to a very long time. This despite it being a very quiet weekday with only a few people sat in the main restaurant.I would have thought that the staff would try to be attentive, considering the party was of reasonable size, and they definitely would have been able to make lots of money from us on a quiet weekday if they just had checked in every so often to take drinks orders. The staff werent rude, but they certainly werent rushed off their feet with other customers. When it came to paying the bill, tortillas that were not ordered but that had been placed on the table and that we assumed were gratis were added to the bill. I guess its called Bills for a reason? The food itself was either unremarkable or cloying.Atrocious.
Despite it being a chain, I was pleasantly surprised. The portions were very small for the price, but the food was very tasty. The fresh bread with the mushroom soup was genuinely outstanding. Solid and dependable it seems
Absolute shambles. After we made our reservation, they didnt pick up their phone to discuss the reservation for over a week or respond to emails. Got there on the day to have to wait over 45 mins for our table. Had to wait over an hour after the starter for the mains, only to be told that two of the guests dont have food from the pre-ordered Xmas menu because of some hideous story about the Turkey catching on fire in the kitchen. Which not all the staff were even aware of. So our guests had to order something off the standard menu, just to get something to eat, which also came well over 30mins later. None of the side orders were remembered, drinks took ages and the Managers seemed to think all the errors made on their part were somehow humorous. All in all the disastrous service left us all very upset rather than having a great Christmas party. Food was tasty but I wouldnt be going back there.
Very cold inside - staff not very friendly. Cold because heaters were not on I guess. My 5 year old son had to wait for the meal and got it while ours was nearly done because the waiter dropped down his plate while carrying it to our table. We have never heard “I am sorry” for the meal being late. The waitress was with attitude so generally no good impression.... sorry to say so. The food was good so an extra star just for that.
The set lunch menu is not overpriced considering the large portion sizes. Desserts came in a decent portion size and tastes ok, but we didnt enjoy the mains. Expect very slow service, we waited for ages (around 40 minuntil the first course was served.
The restaurant is cosy and the staff pleasant.Wi-Fi only works if you give them your email address :-( However, your regular data connection will not work within the thicker, old building walls.Asked for a dry cappuccino but a wet one arrived. Second cappuccino ordered had almost no foam and tasted more watery. My eggs benedict looked smaller on its huge plate and it was okay except the hollandaise sauce had little taste. My wife had the avocado toast but left most of the toast because it was soggy and tasted a little odd.The bill was GBP 40 for breakfast for 3 people with the 12.5% tip that they automatically add to the bill.
Comfortable seats and kind staff. We had egg benedict and English breakfast with watermelon and cranberry juices.Nothing special. Very normal and average meals. In fact the quality was not so different from the breakfast my hotel provided..so I guess it wasnt that good.
I love bills for Brunch. We had to wait a few mins for a table as we were walk in on a Saturday but service was excellent and food was delicious. Their American pancakes and avocado on toast is beautiful. Just dont order both unless sharing. Its a lot of food!
Great food. Nice ambience. Lots of interesting choice. Had a business lunch there with a client so ordered a table for 8. Good service though they were a little busy. Didnt have the beers we ordered in stock but came back quickly to let us know. Staff are friendly.
Nice environment, comfy seats, delicious food. Came for a breakfast, didnt disappoint me!
Food is tasty, dishes are a bit small. Great for lunch!
For the money this place is great, its simple hearty food in quantity. Staff smiled! Very busy on a Friday. So if you want s booth you need to book and specify.House red is very drinkable and bills cider is great, very light.
