Contemporary European chain dishing up separate breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch and dinner menus.
Service was a little slow even though they werent so busy but the staff was kind and apologised for the delay of the dessert. Food was really good and we bunched at another Bills at Hammersmith 2 more times as the food was really good as well as their oat milk cappuccino!
Let’s start with the fact that I’m a Bill’s fan. I travel a bit and will often choose Bill’s over other options around. And that’s the good bit over. The service in this restaurant is appalling. Probably the worst service I have every experienced. We were seated in a decent table. That was good. We ordered our drinks. 10 mins after ordering, was told that they had no beers at all - only low alcohol options. Ordered our food. Actually very quickly one of the two starters arrived (there were three of us but we only wanted two starters). 15 mins later, we chased up the other. They had forgotten to bring it. It had clearly been left on the side as it arrived cold. Another 20 minutes later and was told that one of our mains wasn’t available. Apparently the chef had burnt it!! No replacement options. So no food for me. I’m angry by now. No drink, cold starter and no main. Was told the rest of the mains were ready. I suggested that I wasn’t prepared to pay for the meal given that it had gone so wrong. We were told by the manager that if we weren’t go to pay then they wouldn’t bring the remaining mains. So we agreed to pay for the two mains. 10 mins later, we asked where they were. Apparently, despite being told they were ready, they weren’t started as the chef had been told we weren’t paying and the manager hadn’t updated the chef that we had agreed to pay for the mains. We’d now been in the restaurant for ages and so left. No mains for any of us. Cold starter and no beer.So a bad experience- such a shame as, as I say, I really did like Bills.
Really disappointed - had the poached eggs and avocado - was so bland and eggs were cold. Had to add a lot of salt and pepper and chillie sauce to give it some flavour. Considering the price, sadly, I’d expect better. The atmosphere was really nice tho.
Nice breakfast served in a busy restaurant. A bit weird how we were told that the children would eat free feom the childrens menu, and if that food was on the check we should let them know. Well, the food WAS on the check and it came from the same person that told us beforehand so you would think it was possible to avvoid it? Anyway, we duly obliged and let them know, they partially corrected it by removing the food but not the drink for the child (it was on the childrens menu as well), but by then I didnt want to make any more fuss about something I didnt really care about from the beginning so we went home happy. But for someone else that could be a bit more irritating perhaps?Anyway, we didnt go there for free food so the food was nice, the staff was nice… so all good!
I ate here twice last week. Both times, the food was delicious, the staff was lovely and helpful, the ambiance was warm and charming. I highly recommend it. The home made donuts were delicious!
Quirky restaurant with a mix of benches and wooden chairs. A little cramped but then the place is very popular. The staff are a bit standoffish but most likely due to being very busy, though thats not an excuse! If you decide to try it out, book in advance!
We came across Bills when looking for breakfast. Im so glad we did.Its such a quirky place thats inviting, clean and friendly.I ordered the Garden Plate - absolutely delicious. Fresh mushrooms, tomato, halloumi, avocado, spinach, diced potatoes, toast and beans!! Eggs were available but i opted not to have these. We also had freshly squeezed orange juice and a large pot of tea. This is a definite for any Vegetarian but the Full English looked great too.The staff were really friendly and helpful and the whole visit was just really comfortable.
We did not have a booking but it was fairly quiet when we arrived. The breakfast menu had something for everyone from full English to veggie options. The staff was great, the service was great and the food lovely. By the time we left there were no tables available and people were queuing waiting to be seated. Would definitely recommend.
Great place. Friendly and fast staff. They also offer a lot of gluten free-lactose free options what made my girlfriend pretty happy.
Nice service but very slow, My partner was waiting 30 minutes past me getting my dinner to receive hers after asking 3 times wondering where it was. Partners meal was soggy and bland like they rushed the meal trying to get it out.
Comfortable. Beautiful. Delicious. Best brunch I had in London.
Great place to grab some breakfast or brunch! Good food and lovely staff
Amazing food and drinks, and very cozy interior!
One of my fav brunch spot. Absolutely delicious food and friendly service!
Lovely brunch venue with a kitschy aesthetic. Our server and hostess (Marinawas outstanding despite there being so many patrons and tables to serve. Kudos to her for keeping so calm.Bloody Mary special 2 for 12£ was good value but it lacked a lot of spice and character. However, Marina knew and brought us extra hot sauce ahead of time for the Americans 🫣We had a table for 8 and shared the flatbread, Greek watermelon salad, and large white calamari as starters which everyone enjoyed thoroughly.I ordered the sea bass Florentine and it was delicious. Plenty of food options even a dirty vegan burger for those who are plant based. Meatballs and burrata were a favorite of the group as well. While not the same as the Bills Im used to in Sydney, Australia (its not supposed to be, I just got excited hoping it was the sameit was a rather great experience. Thanks team!Oh we booked reservations on Saturday for a next day (Sundayseating with no issues. For big parties, Id suggest you do the same as it was very busy for Sunday brunch.
Very nice breakfast close to Madame Tussauds. Great breakfast food. Super comfy atmosphere. They even have USB sockets at some tables, so you can charge your mobile! Service is friendly but not very attentive so make yourself seen. All in all good and try it!
I was looking for a last minute table of 7 people at 7pm on a Friday night and understandably struggling to find a table in Central London. I was happy to find and book the table at Bills, now I know why they had availability. The service throughout the night was terrible. The staff spent their time scuttling away hiding behind the columns/tills/kitchen. We had to repeatedly ask for basics such as the menu, drinks and the bill, they have no clue how a restaurant runs. Also the food was bad. Bye Bills.
Really disappointed. Went for dinner on our last night In London and experienced really bad service. Slow, no water offered, no drink refills, check ins, etc. a starter was forgotten, dessert forgotten, and an alteration to a drink forgotten/not acknowledged. There was another waitress that ended up being helpful and adjusted our bill for the missing items and was genuinely apologetic. Appreciated her help.
Very nice ambiance..makes you feel like you are in the middle of jungle. Food was nice but not overwhelming. We ordered English Breakfast and pancakes. Pancakes were okayish. Staff was really friendly.
I had a lunch there today with my family and totally disgusted. I’ve ordered calamari and sea bass. Main course come, I was about to start eating, then I spotted WORM crawling in my food. Totally gross. I showed it for one of the waitress. She took and come back informing, they would cook for me new one. But was lost my appetite and cancelled my order. Please be careful and watch what you’re eating!!!
I wouldnt normally go to Bills because the service is always bad. But this was a different restaurant. Unfortunately the service was still bad. It took them over half an hour to bring water and our drinks. We ordered starters to share but they were small. The large calamari only had 6 pieces in it!Among the mains, we had the black & gold burger and the buttermilk chicken burger. Again the portions were small, meat overcooked and dry. They had a 660ml bottle of Peroni on the menu but they did not have stock. They offered me two 330ml bottles but would charge the higher price for two instead of the same price as the 660ml bottle. Terrible customer service, especially for our large table. We had to keep asking for the bill. They spent most of their time chatting around the till.No more Bills.
The staff were welcoming and friendly however there was little interaction with the staff. Despite this you have no option but to pay a 12.5% service charge which I think is unfair due to the lack of interaction I had with the staff. I had the santorini salad which was I enjoyed however overall with the non-optional service charge I felt it was overpriced.
I have to say not best experienceBeen coming here for a few years for breakfast. Felt that the food was warmed up the only thing that was fresh was the fried eggs.I give it miss the next time in london and go to McDonaldsSorry Bills
Best place for breakfast and brunch! Must try the eggs royals and the stacked pancakes. Recommended!
The staff were really friendly and all of us enjoyed the brunch. Many thanks, wed come again!
Kids liked their pancakes, I liked my big bills brunch, but my wife didn’t like her avocado on toast with poached eggs (the avocado didn’t taste right and the eggs were cold)
Thank you George for your amazing service. The food was delicious:)
Very nice "diner" style restaurant on Baker Street. We dropped in for breakfast and it was almost full but this didnt effect their excellent service and quality of food. My only gripe was the "optional" 12.5% service charge automatically added to our bill when we paid online.
Ventured here when staying near Hyde Park. The menu and reviews drew us in, situated on the famous Baker Street and near Regents Park this quirky restaurant was the perfect stop for breakfast. The Bloody Mary’s were delicious and well presented. We sampled the traditional breakfast, Bills Breakfast, Pancakes and the garden plate all were given the thumbs up.Our waitress was attentive and professional, the facilities were clean. This place is worth a stop
Honestly dont get the hype out of this place, food was not bad but the service is the worst. Had a miscommunication with a waitress and we politely requested a change. She gave us a weird look and served our drink with a slam on the table. In the end, we refused to pay the OPTIONAL service fee and the boss became displeased. Not only was he not listening to our complains but it seems like he was so desperate for the service fees when it clearly stated OPTIONAL. He even walked out on me explaining the situation so GOOD ON YOU, keep it up!
The manager was nice, but the smoothie was tiny and was not what it said it was and cost nearly £5. The minute steak was overcooked, the restaurant did not have any olive oil (not a great signthe chips were skinny, tasteless and probably from frozen. The portion was large. I would have preferred less food at a higher quality.
Like the food like the vibe. Servers here are friendly. My kids never had full English breakfast. They were in for a treat.
We searched for breakfast restaurant in London and we came across Bills restaurant..For me its one of the best breakfast dining in london, the portion od dishes are more than enough, the grilled halloumi was tender and delicious, totally recommended 😋
A disappointing experience.Running out of salmon mid-way through service is unacceptable, as is not trimming great lumps of fat off steak.Leaving plates uncleared in a largely (and understandablyempty restaurant for 20 minutes and having to ask for the bill three times adds to what was enough to make us want to avoid this chain like the covid plague. The wine was very nice, if overpriced and the staff were sweetly apologetic, but we did not go out for this apology of a meal.
Great place to have breakfast, the coffee was great. The service was good.
Very disappointed with this location. Yesterday, friend and I had brunch at Bills in Greenwich village and we were super impressed ... so, we decided to brunch today at the location closer to our hotel. Total miss! Really poor service. We waited over 20 min for our order to be taken and it wasnt busy at all. Water never came to the table. When food arrived, its was cold. Scone on my eggs Benny was not toasted/warm at all. Potatoes were cold. My friends plate was lukewarm. Totally disappointed. 🙄
Very good brunch and dessert! 🔝
We (2 adults, 2 children 11 & 15booked this restaurant very last minute and were very glad we did. The restaurant has funky interior styling and is clean. Our waiter was Erjon (the Albanian Arsenal supporter 😉was very helpful and attentive with our requests and recommending dishes to order. Our group had the Hippy bowl, burger, butter chicken burger & seabass curry. All were very nice and thoroughly enjoyed. My daughter said the burger was the best shes had! High praise indeed. Reasonably priced, great food and brilliant service. What more can you ask for! Highly Recommended
Service is very good. I ordered a lobster linguini but there was no lobster and they replaced the linguini with spaghetti. The chef said he would come to speak with me but did not come. I sent back the meal. Would not recommend unless changes are made to the food!
Very good food, not very good customer service. It took them half 15mins to bring some drinks even though only 3 tables were full. We asked for straws, no one brought anything. We had to ask again 15mins later because you can get any waiters looking at you either; they were literally having some chat and eating cucumbers at the bar. Not sure if it’s acceptable for this place, right in central London. I’d give 5 stars, if it wasn’t for this. The food is delicious. I loved the drinks. I was too full to try their desserts, but they’re at the top of my list for next time.
Bill’s makes an effort to provide vegan food in its chain restaurants. The choice isn’t massive but it’s better than most chains.Menu - Out of the 4 ‘Table Sharing’ options, 2 were vegan and 2 veggie. Of the 10 ‘Starters’, 3 were vegan. Separate from the 12 carnivorous main courses on offer there was a ‘Salad and Plant-Based’ section, with 6 options, of which 3 were vegan. The ‘Sides’ doesn’t indicate what is vegan but it’s likely to be 5 of the 6 options. The ‘vegan chimichurri roasted beetroot’ with flatbread, hummus, date molasses and olive oil was lovely. The bread was warm, the hummus chilled, the mint and beetroot somewhere in between, contrasting the flavour and temperature. The ‘Dirty Vegan Burger’ was a vegan pattie, on a lettuce and vegan mayo base, topped with tomato, vegan cheese and truffle hot sauce, contained in a warm brioche bun. It came with a portion of red onion and rosemary salted fries. It was what I was expected of a dirty burger - big and tasty but nothing special
This was a great restaurant for a group meal. Nice atmosphere, good food and decent service.
This is an review on my english breakfast ok? And it wasnt pleasant. Totally raw eggs, it had to be redone and when the dish came back it was without my sausage 🤣 the service was good at least
For brunch, not hesitate about it, really an assortment of different possible brunch, tasty salted options and sweet to be honest a little bit expensive but worthy
Although we made a booking specifically asking for 2 high chairs due to kids being 1 year old, we were ushered into a booth and told that they couldnt give us any high chairs as it would block the walkway. Kids, needless to say, were a challenge and had to be placed on laps throughout the meal which didnt lead to an enjoyable experience. The staff were swept off their feet as it was busy so Ill allow some leeway but the service was slow and not very helpful at all. It took too long to get any attention for our table. Not quite the usual bills experience we have had previously.
We came across Bills when starving and exhausted during a lunch time, and wow what a gem it is! It was our first time at Bills and we are already planning to come back.We ordered a set menu (~13£each including two dishes and enjoyed them all; my other half especially loved the calamari. I ordered the cocktail of the day, Lovestruck, a gin based sweet cocktail, costs around 4£, fyi.Affordable prices, big portions, tasty food and lovely hosts. I also like their interior! Definitely recommended.
Was pretty good, I enjoyed the company of the host/assistant manager.Ordered a pink Lemonade and Truffle steak which was good, had to borrow my partners steak knife as they forgot to give me a new one after I dropped mine while trying to navigate a cluttered plate. The truffle steak itself was thinner than an iPhone so I’d imagine there was never an option on wether you’d like it rare/medium/well done, probably why they never asked.I was slightly disappointed that there was no real effort to treat us nicely after we finished our food we had to wait a total of 15 minutes to leave, we had the bill and was waiting to pay but no one was willing to bring a card machine over, we had our coats and masks on waiting to go and people walking past and attended their good friends in front of us.
I had a fish pie and it was very good. With a good hospitality its a good place to sit and eat.The crab cakes are delicious as well.
Amazing food in a vibrant decor and lively atmosphere. High quality ingredients, good portions, imaginative menu.
Great food, poor service.Perhaps as a result of the current (Aug 20promotion on discount meals, the restaurant was busy (for a Tue breakfast), though not very full.We were seated quickly and yet had to wait about 15 mins before anyone came to take an order of any drinks or food. We ordered Vegan Breakfast and Bills Garden Plate, together with a coffee and a Hip Hop Chocolate. The food, when it came about 15-20 mins later, was good, though the plates were cold and food was not very hot. If we werent so hungry and concerned about waiting a further half hour Id have sent it back asking for a hot meal instead. The food, though not hot, was very good. The drinks were excellent - the hot chocolate especially.
