The only international contemporary museum made in India. I spent about 4 hours here on a weekend. Including the excellent cafe The Potbelly. Each minute was time well spent.Striking architecture and exhibits. This is an absolute must visit when in Patna.Ignore the guards who manage the place very unprofessionally.
This museum preserves and displays the glorious past of Bihar and its rich heritage. The museum has been designed well and the ambience matches the art it displays. From Stone carvings of Gods to kings, from pottery to painting, one can feel the change in the way of life humans have gone through. School kids to adults, I recommend this place for everyone.
Absolutely stunningWow what a museum and collection. From the moment of arrival as you enter the building in the middle of an industrial estate on the outskirts of Jaipur you can’t help but to be blown away! First the architecture of the building is stunning and just perfect to house the amazing collection of treasures collected by this family. To be also shown their jewellery workshops was so fascinating and what an amazing company and experience this is. We were lucky enough to be shown around by Harneet Kaur, their marketing and communications manager and her knowledge and insight made the whole experience all the more fantastic. A must see place for all to see if you love and appreciate beautiful objects, architecture, amazing jewellery and a stunning collection of treasures.
A museum is a place where old relics are kept for public show. A visit to a museum adds much to our knowledge of the past. Yesterday, I had a chance to visit a museum in New Delhi. I went there with my friend. It was a huge building divided into various sections. Each section had different exhibits. We went to the museum. First of all, we saw our own galaxy of stars. There were stars painted on the dome ceiling. It was a very good scene. It was felt that we were actually in the galaxy of stars. After that, we saw another section. This section contained weapons of the olden times. There were bows, arrows, swords, daggers, helmets, and spikes. The things were arranged to show the battle scenes. The adjacent room had the household goods of ancient times. These things were dug out from the historical sites. The domestic life of the ancient people was at display. One could see pots, pans, silver ornaments, musical instruments, clothes, and many other things. There were many Indian made things. These have been made by Indian scientists. Solar cookers, solar light system, models of dams and hydroelectric projects were being displayed. After seeing them one can estimate how Indians had made progress after Independence. Now we were tired. We returned to our home in the late evening after enjoying the day.
History of Bihar is Glorious and this Museum keeps the history safe. There are lots of historical things to see. Coins, stone, incarnation on stone, writings, cultural museum, Sikki Crafts show, etc.More important thing about ticketing, On students identify card ticket price is Rs 50 only, But as normal you have to pay Rs 100 on tickets for Indian citizen.More interestingly i visited this place recently on 2nd Oct and it was Free for entry and no charge for Parking also.
Its an example, how a modern museums should look like. A perfect place for knowing all the history of bihar, with all the different dynasties, art pieces, history and all. Moreover, the environment is very much good. Fully air conditioned and perfectly lighted.
The existing Patna Museum was the starting point for the new Museum and the vast collections from the Patna Museum were carefully researched and analysed. It was decided to keep much of the natural history as part of the interpretation of that existing Museum as the large silicified tree that was cemented into the ground. The Museum is visualized especially keeping the needs of Bihari residents in mind, to create a sense of belonging for people of the State and to create an inspiring environment for children and youth to learn and progress. It attracts a crowd from world over and is an exciting tourist destination and cultural hub. The exhibits and displays are tailored to create interactive spaces and people are encouraged to make repeat visits.
Such an amazing experience in this museum! Planned beautifully! A very immersive and comfortable experience that helps you journey through Bihars history.A must see!
I visited this place in Feb. And is one of the best place to visit with your family and also, youll get to know alot about the culture and tradition of Bihar. Also, one can get to know some informative facts about our ancient eras and the ruler of that era. There is variety of art section and also there are some interesting corners for kids for their entertainment. The entry fee is very less, rs. 100 for adults,rs. 50 for student on their Id card and free for kids below 5 years. Whole premises of museum is fully air-conditioned.Also, there is cafe inside the premises of museum so that one can satisfy their hunger as well. But yeah museum is closed on Monday.I thoroughly enjoyed hear and get to learn some interesting facts about Bihar state. Visiting this place really worth it. I would recommend everyone if you want to know about the state must visit this place.
Beautiful place in terms of architecture and knowledge. The design is very esthetic. You will enjoy roaming around the place and can easily spend more than hours. Good to get the knowledge of ancient times. The place can be considered to visit with your kids to spend a good memorable time.
Very good place to understand the history of the Bihar region. The collection of antiques is very huge. The museum architecture is something to be enjoyed. Well done Bihar officials.

Place is good to visit with family & friends . Kids can be also taken as there is separate zone for them . Price for an adult is Rs. 100 per person . Place is neat & clean with multiple halls spread across the museum with history of ancient India. There are projectors displaying & depicting about history in each section .Every history student must visit there as it will help them in understanding the history in better & easy way.Interactive display in each section adds to information & make the history more interesting to learn. There is separate children section where they can enjoy. There is one traditional goodies shop inside the museum. There is only one restaurant inside & thats too costly given the pricing.P.S. - If possible please plan your visit on weekdays to avoid rush/crowd

One of the best in bihar ... Properly cleaned ...there is theatre which show you the history of Bihar ....lots of stuff are present to show you the architecture, paintings, coins , statues . There are some digital media you can touch and operate it to know more . Mesmerizing experience but the centre of attraction is where the children area came that part is simply amazing... beautiful stuff there . Staffs are good too which they have alot which is good for protection of those artifacts . There is also a cafeteria ....but that was too costly below 100 you can only get mineral water . For the parking you have to go around the building from left side and turn the first right to the end of building you can reach the parking . For one time visit .
If you are interested to know about Bihar. The collection of art and information about the regional culture...its just amazing.Note:- If you want to experience Bihari cuisine it has one of best restaurant and if you want to buy some regional paintings and art the shop is there.

I must just say WoW.Unexpectedly amazing place, a must visit.I never thought that visiting a museum can be such a great experience.Very thoughtfully conceptualized and executed and run. Some of the galleries were closed for still there was so much to see and learn about history and culture.Kids, young, old, all will enjoy.Cafeteria is on quite expensive side.
It’s nicely presented our state and country’s history and artifacts! well decorated like american museum or London museum!! modern amenities and concept must say great effort by government’s initiative and visions!! nice restaurant with tasty food also discounts for students!! entry fee rs 100 for adults! Fully air conditioning corridor and hall !! nicely located lawn ! mostly covered history’s facts !! One thing advised and missing area headphone to hear history details which I found in all European and Americans museums.Recommended to visit this great informative place of all kinds of people!!
Its worth visiting. The maintainanc is really of high order, staff are dutiful. The experience was really pleasant.Particularly for the lovers of modern art and past Indian life style/accomplishments best audio & visual materials are available.
The place is really good, air conditioned, clean and has an elevator. It is very art centric, not very much into fossils , minerals etc. The restaurant was quite expensive as the AC wasnt working. The shop is nice.
Its a beautifully well maintained place filled with historical essence of Bihar and its cultural roots. If you want to enjoy it fully, visit this place really early as soon as it opens (10.30am), so that you absorb the vibe really well since it gets really crowdy and noisy after 2.00pm and it kills the entire feel.10.30-1.30pm should be most appropriate time to visit this place in order to enjoy a disturbance free experience. You can enjoy the cafeteria and other nearby activities when the noisy crowd steps foot.
Entry tickets are cheap and affordable. And a very good place to visit. There is a theatre in which you can know about the history of Bihar. And many more places to visit like childrens gallery, study centres and other galleries.

Visited the place on May 13th 2022. The place is well connected and can be reached easily from the airport/railway station by taxi/electric rikshaw. The museum hosts multiple galleries which are divided on the basis of artifacts age. It is a fully air conditioned and almost silent place( except the usual chatter). I liked the documentary that is screened in the amphitheatre. The show is around 10-12mins.The cafeteria is really nice as well.Photography is allowed with a mobile camera but dont take videos. Plastic bottles not allowed. They provide a place to keep your luggage as well for no extra charge.Charge : ₹100/- per adult.

Lots of information related to history n science. Can easily spend 2-3 hrs here. Cafeteria available but it wasnt functional on 30th Apr, 2022. Good number of washrooms and Drinking water point inside. Photography allowed almost everywhere. Parking easily available for 2 and 4 wheelers. Also, you need to enter via gate no. 3 if you come by your own vehicle. Children must visit at least once. With school ids their entry fees becomes half. Proud to be called a bihari after visiting such places in Patna. Entry fees quite high for middle class people(100). I think somewhere between 60-80 bucks would have been reasonable.

Well, technology, history, architecture, convenience, regional asmita, all rolled into one magnificent experience. What a modern day museum should be. What I liked most is the way the story of the timeline from prehistory to modern day Eastern India has been told in the museum. A must visit for anyone in Patna, in fact one must visit Patna to tour this museum.
Its absolutely beautiful with old heritage. The museum also has amazing modern architecture, animations, detailed explanations over walls and digital interaction screens. Closes at 5 pm and it has kids section as well. Takes around 2 hours to see the museum. Left side from the entrance leads to ancient heritage and right side from the entrance leads to kids section.

Its magnificent. I hope, people of Bihar make themselves worthy of this beautiful piece of architecture which is in contrast with everything in Bihar. Its absolutely clean and theyre making new adjustment to the antiquities present for the exhibition. The staff is very polite and respectful. The only thing lacking is, people are not keeping covid protocol in mind and the staff isnt enforcing it. Thats why I taken off one star.
What an amazing place Bihar Museum is ! Must visit it. It has best collection of historical things which remind us about our history. I am so fond of this museum.
