Big River Restaurant & Bar in Corvallis

Do not get any steaks or main entrees, at almost $30 it’s not worth it! I ordered a medium cooked Steak and it was overcook and hard, the sides mash potatoes and lime rice had no flavor, my boyfriend ordered the brewery chicken and he said it had no flavor.This place is like a regular sports bar, beer was ok, Mac and cheese and wings were good. But I don’t recommend going fancy and ordering any expensive dishes.Oh! our waitress was very sweet!

Ate here on 9/2 & 9/3/22. Inside of the place is pretty cool. When we ate here, they did not have service outside but they said we could order food and eat outside, which we did. They ended up bringing our food out to us, both times! We had fish & chips for dinner and nachos for an appetizer. Food was good and the beer was better. We came back the next day and had a burger and more nachos. Come try this place. Good beer & food.

The service was good our waitress was great. Got the bbq bacon burger it was average seems like it was quality meat with a sweet barbecue sauce it was supposed to have ranch but did not the onion rings were good. My wife got the fish tacos with green beans she said they both lacked flavor.

The ribeye I ordered was supposed to have been Medium Well instead it was Medium Rare. I politely informed my waitress and she checked with the manager and instead of replacing the steak they offered to put it back on the grill. The steak was not seasoned and it was tough. I struggled to get a clean cut, instead the steak was basically ripped apart. The waitress was good but the food was awful and it was cold. I will never eat at that place again.

Ate the 2am Burger and the Shrimp and Grits and the Classic Chicken Mac and Cheese. Solid B+ in regards to the food, service raises the grade to an A-.

The service by Abbey was very good and the food we had was nice

Perfectly cooked salmon and great brews. Nearby parking is steep but not their fault.

Started off really hopeful for this place, the food was okay at best. The waitress was horrible, we tried splitting a check in half multiple times and were met with aggression when we were trying to just get out and pay. When we were trying to pay, the waitress just turned walked away. My friends steak was also cooked wrong, we sent it back but even then it took about 20 minutes to get her food back and by the time she did the rest of us were finished eating. Do not recommend.EDIT: went back through my credit statements and they charged me an extra $5. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!

Crystal was absolutely awesome! She goes above and beyond by suggesting Beer and menu choices! She’s attentive, fun, and professional!The service was amazing and the food was some of the best we’ve had in a long time!My husband highly recommends the Texas Ribeye!Make this place a definite when visiting Downtown Chattanooga!

Very disappointing. Went in around 6 to try and get a table to eat. Only a few families ahead of us waiting. Noticed multiple open tables and even more people leaving. So we thought awesome, we should get seated quickly. Nope. Waited until almost 7, those empty tables kept growing, with no one getting seated. Hosts/hostess were walking around slowly looking like they didnt know what they were doing. As we were rather hungry and tired of waiting, we left.

Wings were great! Shrimp & grits portion needs to be larger or the price should be less but it was delicious. Mac and cheese was very good. Steak had a good flavor and was tender. Didnt like the pizza, it was very dry, not enough sauce or cheese.

We drove through town on a long road trip and needed a bite and a place to stay. Hotel recommended the food here. I ordered a steak and veggies. It was tasty and cooked perfect. Only gave a 4 because my other two travel companions were shorted on their side fish. Got to the hotel to find the food missing. I ordered zucchini and was told last minute had to substitute with green beans but they were cooked perfect.

We stopped in Chattanooga on the way back to Birmingham on our anniversary trip specifically to eat at this restaurant because of previous visit. We asked if we could sit outside and the hostess said sure. We sat there for at least 30 minutes and no one came out. My husband went inside and politely asked if someone was working the tables outside? At first they said no. Then he asked why we were seated outside then? They said oh, someone will be right with you. After sitting there for awhile no one came. We returned menus and left because we were parked at a meter and had reserved 1.5 hours. Our order had not yet been taken and we didn’t want to get a ticket. And no, they were not that busy. Very disappointed. 😞

Steak was excellent, wood grilled and the sides was great. Service was very attentive to the customer. Over all great place

I am giving four stars purely because of the very kind chef who came out to speak with us after an otherwise terrible experience.We had a party of six and waited over an hour for cold food. We watched two tables who were seated after us get their food before us. Honestly the wait time on its own would not have been an issue if our food was warm when it was served. It 100% tasted like it had been ready for a while and left sitting. I also wouldn’t have complained if it were one plate that was off but every plate was cold and a few were also missing sides.I told the server our food was cold and she disappeared after that. A man from the kitchen came out and apologized for everything, I didn’t catch his name but I believe he said his position was executive chef. He basically took over our table and was so incredibly kind and apologetic. Not sure what happened to our server…she pretty much pushed her job onto the chef once she realized we were not so happy.Again, I want to give a big thank you to the chef who came out and spoke with us even when our issues were no fault of his own. He is the only reason our night wasn’t a total bust

Amazing experience. In town for the weekend, Friday night and still got amazing service. Sampled the beers before choosing. Entire party loved meals and drinks. Our server Gracie was fantastic. Will definitely visit again.

Correct service but tables where we can eat are parked between 2 wood walls. Impossible to eat near the bar or near the live music. Food acceptable but chicken seems to be cooked in water. Pizzas with too much cheese. Fries fat.

Really enjoyed this place. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door. Our waitress was attentive and kept the refills coming. The food was wonderful - we had the fish and chips and the fish tacos. YUM! The only thing my wife and I were not fans of was the apple coleslaw but other than that everything was very tasty. Definitely recommend this place as a must visit if youre in downtown Chattanooga.

The good:-Very nice server, who was very polite and kind, she also worked quickly to get us our drinks and food-Great location in the city center-Nice atmosphere-Delicious lemonade 🍋-The food was cooked fast and came out pretty quickly after we orderedThe bad:-HORRIBLE tasting food; or should I say flavorless. Bland grilled chicken, bland gravy, okay mashed potatoes. Also, the food was cold, and they completely forgot my fried onion garnish. 🙄-My spouse ordered chicken fingers and the best tasting part was the sauces. Tenders were severely overcooked and dry, burnt to a crisp and black on the edges. Overcooked fries as well.The ugly:-Management seemed nonchalant about making things right. He definitely apologized and offered to make us something else, but his demeanor appeared to be unbothered. Also, I would have been even angrier if we had gotten another meal that was still bad tasting, so we declined.-Im not sure whats going on in the back of the house, but it seems like they had no interest in making even edible food-There was food on the ground underneath several tables. Maybe they were busy earlier but it would have been nice if someone cleaned that up so I didnt have to look at nasty food on the ground while I was trying to eat. In the end I guess it didnt matter because we took a few bites, hated it, refused to pay for it, and left the restaurant after notifying management. Dont worry, we tipped the waitress well because it wasnt her fault. 👍🏾

Used to be a decent place, but its gone down. WAY down. In terms of food. The service is still EXCELLENT, in terms of the waiters, no complaints there whatsoever. But quality of food? Horrible. Overcooked, unseasoned, and not worth the average $17-20 cost per entree. The management was very nonchalant when we told them of our problems with the food, so we chose to just leave. Very disappointing.

My boyfriend and I had to wait around five minutes to be seated. This would have been fine had there been more than three customers who were currently in the building. I watched the bartender look at us and go back to what she was doing several times while we waited. Food was very sub par. We ordered the nachos appetizer and it consisted of microwaved cheese and old beans. By the time the nachos came out they were cold and the cheese was congealed. I ordered the Brewhouse Chicken and had to send it back because the chicken was old and the entire dish was cold. I changed to the Mac and Chicken and it was okay. I ended up spending $30 on tea, a split appetizer, and one entree. Probably wont be back.

The food wasn’t that bad but wasn’t amazing either. The wings are super gross. But the steak was okay. I was not gonna leave a review but come to find out they charged me $15 more days later🙃. I had left tip in cash so I don’t know why they charged us $15 more days later. I guess our cash tip wasn’t enough. Will never come here again. And I don’t recommend it either. Over priced for the food they give you. If I could leave zero stars I would.

Chicken pasta and fried pickles were great. The BBQ Bacon Burger was overcooked and I wasnt impressed. I really liked the in house beer and would definitely go back and give the burger another shot just to try some of their other beers.

Came down for a long weekend. Beer and servers were great. The mixed drinks tasted like they didn’t have any alcohol at all and there was nothing special about the food. My fiancé ordered the brewers club and it looked it came from a gas station. I ordered the grilled chicken mountain pasta and it tasted like a lean cuisine. Never again. Unless I go for beer.

We ate lunch here today on 5/5/2022. We ate outside. The weather, food and service was great.

My husband and I came during the Aquarium’s 30 year anniversary celebration, so we expected for it to be busy. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by some very friendly hostesses and then after waiting a bit, we were seated in Ashley L’s section. She was one of the best servers we’ve ever had! Extremely friendly and made great recommendations for drinks and food. She checked in on us regularly and made sure we were completely satisfied with our drinks and food. The food tasted great, but was a bit of a wait once we ordered it, which we expected after coming in during such a busy night downtown. Ashley apologized for the wait and even the cook, Anthony, came out to apologize personally and see if there was anything he could do to make things right. Although we expected to wait a bit, we we’re blown away with how professional the cook and our server Ashley were, and how hard they worked to make sure we had an amazing first experience at Big River Grille. On top of the amazing customer service, we were impressed with the ambiance, cleanliness of the restaurant, and the live music was a bonus. We were so impressed and have every intention of returning, as well as recommending it to family and friends.

This is all I get for $20? I did not know the meal I wanted would be this small. 😩 I have NEVER had warm wine! But I did not want to put up a fuss. DISAPPOINTED!

The salmon was great. I was with a party of 10. Three ordered pizza and after about a 20 minute wait, we were informed that they were out of pizza dough. The rest of us finished our meal before the three received their reorders. The service was extremely good.

They were quiet and slow which was great. The waitress/bartender was great she gave me a sample of a couple beers to taste before I even asked. The bbq burger was amazing and worth stopping in for. Come see them the place is nice, food was great, and service was even better.

Great restaurant with great beer. Very friendly and helpful service. We had Brewhouse chicken with fries and wienna lager beer and it was great.

My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves here. Beautiful atmosphere with exposed brick and beams. Open bar with kegs stacked upon themselves. Well lit. Open walking areas in between tables.Great beer. Food was ok on my end. I had the fish and chips and my fish was pretty burnt and tough. My wife, however, loved her food (shrimp and grits). My 2 year old had a cheese burger which was tasty as well.Wish it was a bit cheaper but overall it was a nice experience. You really cant get a better location than this. I would eat here again.

This place is a joke.Waited an hour to be seated for a bad experience. The nachos were just plain chips, almost zero toppings.They brought my child’s food out 30 minutes before our food, so they were done well before we started eating.I was charged extra for a side I never received and the waitress didn’t make it right.Then to top it off, I ordered the 12oz steak medium rare and got the most rare steak I’ve ever had (see photos).Completely disappointing, plenty of other, better restaurants to spend $100 at in the area.

Ordered Delivery. My Margherita Flat Bread was burnt and tasteless. TWO of my kids meals were wrong. One missing the side AND undercooked chicken, the other was sent with the wrong side. (Do you know how picky kids are?! They wont eat it if its not what they orderedThe Fried Pickles were packaged without a paper lining and arrived soggy. And the childrens Mac and Cheese was ice cold, and not even mixed up. No cutlery was sent, no condiments either. Very unhappy.

First of all let me say this / these are difficult times for the restaurant businesses and we all need to understand that due to staffing shortages , wait times are longer than usual just about everywhere . That being said I wish to thank Kristen S the manager for doing her best to get us seated . I wish to thank Server Kelton for providing exceptional service while maintaining her smile. Thanks to the kitchen staff for making an outstanding lunch!

My first visit, took my daughters on a Saturday night who were in town visiting. Everyone enjoyed their meals, including the Mac & Chicken , Fish & Chips and Brew House Chicken with mash potatoes 🙌

Got right in when we got there and the last place was 1.5 hr wait. Seated and the male waiter was very nice. My stake and green beans were very good but the Mac and cheese was out of this world. Great job

Atmosphere was nice relaxing and our waitress was very attentive. Steak on the other hand was terrible. I had the 6oz. Desert on the other hand was great!!

Well I ordered the sirloin steak grits and onion rings and although I did want my steak to be well-done I was kind of expecting to see a little pink in there but I think they over-cooked it a little bit. Although seasoned pretty decently the food was very good and the atmosphere even better. It wasnt so packed so it seemed as though people was kind of socially distant from each other. Our waitress was very attentive Im supposed to my steak was a little juicier.

So I ordered the sirloin steak grits and onion rings and even though my steak was a bit try it out for me it was still okay season very well. The atmosphere wasnt too noisy and I really had a good time. The Great Wolf season to my liking and my onion rings face degree if I did have to complain about anyting its having a well-cooked steak but only slightly pink inside not having any slight pink at all but basically almost cooked to dryness

Delicious food and great service! The chip and dip appetizer came with some delicious cheese and salsa dips. The brewhouse chicken was super good. I always come here when Im in Chatt.

All the food was Excellent !!Is cheeseburger with bacon. Is salmon with lime rice and green beans and fish tacos .All good choices.

I would say 3 1/2 starsThe cobb salad was good.The chicken Avocado sandwich was good, however, the side of fries were sparse and stone cold. The server went awol until we were done eating so there wasnt much that could be done to fix it.The waters and drinks ce with paper straws which was a plus iny book.

Came here two year ago and it was delicious! This time, the food was not that great. The burgers had a weird flavor to them, but the waffle fries were good! Then, after getting our ticket, we found out the menu prices on their beer menu aren’t correct. The manager took the extra off because the menus we weren’t told the menus were wrong, I guess.

Went to Big River Grille Downtown to eat supper and meet with some friends. A local Jazz 🎺 and cover band called "The Cleaning Crew" that our son is a member of was slated to play guitar there as the evenings entertainment. As usual they sounded great and kept the place grovin during the evening. If you see them playing around town check them out youll enjoy there sound.Food was great wife and I each got a side salad 🥗, she had the house salad with light ranch. I choose the Ceasar 🥗 which was very tasty plenty of real deal Parmesan shaved cheese and the Ceasar sauce was very good. We both followed the salads up with the Barbeque Chicken pizza 🍕. The pizzas were great good crust plenty of chicken and cheese. I wish I had thought to ask the waitress to bring a an extra side of barbeque sauce. I think for normal folks there was plenty of sauce. For my personal taste when I am eating something with barbeque sauce I want lots of sauce on there.Service and timeliness of food coming out was good. Definitely worth trying.

This is my first time out in a while! Excellent decision. We were seated almost immediately. The waitress, Megan, was so welcoming and helpful. The food-yummilicious😋 Shrimp and Grits, Cajun Tacos, and Macaroni and Cheese for the little guy.

Awesome restaurant in downtown Chattanooga! I had the Southern Flyer Light Lager Beer and it was great! For my meal I had the Brewhouse Chicken which was excellent. Would highly recommend this restaurant for the atmosphere, food, and drinks!

Fantastic food! Best Bloody Mary Ive had in years and The Sweet Magnolia Brown Ale brewed in-house, tasted so clean and full-flavored. The band was EXACTLY what we were hoping to find. Server was friendly and prompt. My only complaint was that my appetizer and my food came out back to back, so I felt that was a waste of money, since I would have had to eat the appetizer or my meal, cold, to enjoy the other.

Stopped in for lunch after riding on the Southern Belle River boat, we had about a 15 minute wait for a table but well worth it, my wife had the Brewhouse Chicken and I had the Cajun fish tacos, both were absolutely great, service was very good. We had a couple of drinks and they were excellent also. Highly recommend this place if your in Chattanooga.

Good selection of craft beers. Flight testers are available or free, small, Beer taste tester glasses. The ladies enjoyed the Peach Ramble cocktail. Only regular flavor margaritas are available. Steak and chicken dinners were only okay. Kids enjoyed their burgers and waffle fries. Chips n Dip Trio appetizer was very good. Service was excellent, except at the bar.
