On their app its indicate that they are open but when we get there the security and some guy said they havent trade for almost two years which is understandable but why give us false information cause the lady I was with had to travel from so far to get such new luckily Im local

Booked a table for my girlfriends birthday was asked for the occasion over the phone and asked why , I was told they will serve a complimentary dessert for her since its her birthday. When I got there they asked for my name and was taken to a spot where they said I must sit anywhere. I didnt understand why are we told to reserve and be told to sit anywhere. The food was just right, Big easy web page is misleading the place is more a bar than a resturant with its loud house music, to top it up no complimentary dessert was served as no one knew what the occasion was although I mentioned and was promised over the phone. I heard high expectations on that night but mislead and was dissappointd

Awful experience and extremely pricey. The restaurant was out of all our first choice menu options. The portions were miniscule. Food was bland and boring. Great ambience but average service.

Cosy, elegant and sophisticated. Big Easy is an incredile restuarant. I went there about a month ago with my sisters. The staff is so generous. One of my pregnant sisters recieved complimentary nuts from our waiter which was anther reason for me to like the place even more. Its clean, inviting and perfect for a cosy date with your partner, lunch with friends and family dinners. The only thing Id advise though is that you stay indoors when you happen to go to the restaurant on a windy day to be able to enjoy your time there because outdoors the wind can get slightly uncomfortable more especially with the weaves we put on nowadays and your day might end up getting ruined for that some reason. You can go outside and take pictures the come back in. The food is great and the prizes arent so bad either.

The food was up to standard. The food was prepared and presented well. This is expected, considering the price point. However, the short-ribs were not available (on the evening of the 29/10/2019).The waiters may have been tired on the day of my visit as they seemed a bit indifferent, they could not recommend any good meals and were generally "over it."The drinks were overpriced. On the day that I had visited a can of coke set me back R 40. This is rather high when compared to other fine dining restaurants in and around the Durban area.However, that being said The Big Easy is still worth a visit, if you are looking for all of what Durban has to offer. Unfortunately I am unlikely to return.

Celebrated my anniversary with dinner here. The steaks were done beautifully, exactly as requested. The restaurant were kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert to commemorate the occasion. Unfortunately we already ordered dessert so it ended up being too much food. Service was great. Our waitor was attentive and always around when we needed something. Only reason I cant go 5 star is I feel the place is heavily overpriced for what youre getting. But worth an experience.

So I recently visited the Big Easy.The staff is extremely friendly, the menu could use some work in terms of variety as it does not offer that much. The food did take extremely long before being served, however the food was really good. There was a great atmosphere, very calm vibe.Overall a 7/10 from me.

We went here on the strength of the positive reviews; however, we soon regretted our decision. From the poor service to the substandard meat and over priced wine, there is no reason to return. Ernie Els should be embarrassed to have his name associated with this establishment.

This is an excellent restaurant in the Hilton hotel in Durban, serving great food and excellent wine. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the ambience is romantically lit, and it has a really pleasant outside area for those who are tired of air conditioning, or who enjoy smoking. Definitely well worth visiting.

Blown away by the food; flavorful and prepared so perfectly you dont even need to add salt. A great restaurant for anyone wanting to dress up and enjoy a vibey atmosphere.

Me and my friends arrived after lunch hours and kitchen was closed but the chef was kind enough to cook for us and the food was amazing especially their pork belly😋🤗

Went to the restuarant on Thursday, 4th Oct. It wasnt full and ordered our food at 1930 and only got it at 2120 after waiting 20 minute for our wine. The waiter wanted to take the order for everything to help the kitchen. Those that were still keen had to wait by the kitchen for their deserts. Disappointing !!!!!

Setting is lovely, staff are friendly. I ordered a gin and pink soda but they were unable to supply.... they offered an alternative but I feel that a "5" star hotel in the middle of a city should have stock of a common beverage.

The steaks were amazing. The service was a bit disappointing. With a table of 17, the food was not brought out together, the last person received food and some were finishing off. The aircon was broken so the temperature was irratic. Good wine selection.

The Big Easy has an air of high class about it. The food reflects this, the waiters reflect this and so does the price. As this place is not for your average Joe, I have marked it down a star but still really recommendable.

Its such a beautiful place. The atmosphere is amazing and the Waitor and waitress were very helpful. I had to leave due to the fact that the menu isnt Vegetarian friendly and struggled to find something I could eat on the menu. I hope you introduce more Vegetatian friendly meals in your menu in future. I will definately be returning soon. Thank-you for the lovely service ;-)

One star for decor. Its an expensive steakhouse, with overpriced wine, dry fish, underwhelming steak, and uninspired service. Go to Butcher Boys instead. Did not live up to its reputation.

I was just at your outdoor garden area at the Big Easy. I am appalled at the treatment I have just received from your manager at the Big Easy.I was sitting down in the garden area of the Big Easy reading a document. A waiter approached with a menu and I said I wasn’t really thirsty or anything at that moment. I was just enjoying the sun a bit for now. The entire garden area did not have anybody else seated. I was considering something to drink as it was hot.Moments later without asking if I was a resident of the Hilton or anything of that sort, your manager at the Big Easy said that if I wasn’t going to order anything I should leave.1. If I was currently staying at the Hilton, your manager would be in real trouble. Is this the type of people you hire?2. I occasionally visit the Big Easy and the coffee shop there in my breaks with friends and have lunch or drinks on the weekends. This is going to stop and I’m going to make sure I make this known to the public.

Food is amazing, great wine selection, very classy modern, upscale chic atmosphere. Also very moderately priced for western vacationers (US/Europe), you will not believe the value for your $$. The steak is an absolute must try.
