Big Bend Cafe - Diner in Revelstoke, Canada
Was excited to try this place, but unfortunately it was overall mediocre. Coffee was 2/10, worse than Denny’s. The food itself was also just OK, some parts better than others. I ordered soft poached eggs and the yolks came out hard. Pancakes tasted like they were out of a “just add water” box. Bacon and sausage was good.Service again was just ok. There was only 1 other table when we were there, and it was hard to get the waitress’ attention. Not the worst breakfast I’ve ever had, but for all the positive reviews and the price, I was disappointed.
Amazing service, excellent food and really good atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone.
Wonderful whole grain hot cereal with nuts and fresh berries were superb! Loved the warm atmosphere and the music played softly. Yes i will be back.
Food was amazing, my boyfriend had the chorizo bowl and said it was the best hollandaise sauce ever. I had the mama bear with French toast and it was soooo delicious.
Ive only eaten breakfast here. However the food is tasty and hearty! Attentive service. Atmospheric dining regarding decor. Reasonably priced.
Food is amazing, and cheap which is essentially unheard of in this province/tourist town
Quick and pleasant service. The atmosphere is super charming, has a very old timey feel. Food was okay, nothing on the menu was labelled, just listed ingredients, which caused some issues when we were ordering.
Anytime you leave the main highways you will find local spots like this that make meals just like you do at home. I wish I could find bacon that good. Awesome
Monday morning breakfast with the family while on vacation. Delish options, fresh and flavourful, with huge portions. Would highly recommend for any meal while you’re in town. Great service and warm atmosphere.
Nice little spot. Decent food. Owner seemed very grumpy. Patio wasnt open.
This was a great place to go for lunch. The pancakes, especially, were really delicious, and Id definitely recommend the Papa Bear pancakes.
Went because it was the only thing open before noon.Pleasantly surprised. Service was slow at first but there were only 2 ladies serving/bar tending the entire restaurant. So friendly and food was delicious!!Love the table of random hot sauce to pick from. Sorry that I didn’t get a picture.
Disappointed with the food here. Will give it 2 stars for ok service. Would rather go to baguette or dose or modern next to city hall.
Lovely cafe with an impressive collection of random old stuff - gives a great homely feel to the place :-D
Eclectic feel, homely food, sassy owner. Good place for breakfast.
Quaint cafe with antique furniture and rustic artifacts on the walls. I had the Cobb salad which was truly fresh and real roast turkey! My hubby had the club and homemade cauliflower cheddar soup and he said it was full of flavour. Total cost of the meal was $14!!
Service was ok food was good some items out of stock and no substitute for eggs Benedict bread choice as we could only get a multi grain bagel and I suffer with a stomach issue that I cannot eat seeds so very disappointed in that aspect
Had tasted their Texas burrrito and Grilled Chicken bowl. Excellent taste. A must go place for breakfast or lunch.
The service is excellent, the food is incredible, look like taste. Recommended 100%.
Really good sandwiches, quirky waitress(boss?Definitely worth stopping here.
Great food and The tomato basil soup is awesome! Plus really nice staff and get service.
Really good breakfast at a decent price, friendly staff, always a good place to go for some good breakfast.
I enjoyed the bacon and California Eggs Benny very much. Served on a bagel vs an English muffin! I was surprised how good that was. They left an entire pot of coffee and water on our table and didn’t harass us with annoying visits to ask “how’s everything tasting” like so many other places do.The decor is quirky and eye catching. A great spot to get hangover dishes that fit the bill. I’d eat here again.
Weird to me that something called a cafe, has nothing cafe to drink besides plain coffee and plain tea. Disappointing start to our experience. Followed with, despite having a lunch menu, being told no lunch menu was available to order from at 12:30. We were prepared to walk out at this point but decided to try the food. Had the breakfast sandwich. Food was bland. Most likely could have made a better one at home. Owner seems like a decent guy. Not great service though.
Stopped here on a road trip for brunch and it was amazing! The portions are huge.
Great food, giant portions, great atmosphere, a little rough around the edges on service.
Nice little eatery in the heart of Revelstoke. We ordered steak&eggs and a nice salmon dish for lunch. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Value for money, large high quality local produce. Highly recommended when in Revelstoke.
One of the best breakfasts I have had. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Revelstoke.
Such good food, generous portions. The atmosphere here is comfortable and relaxed, I can see myself becoming a regular here
We both had the breakfast special on our way through town on the weekend and it was not good at all. It was a scrambler that consisted of a wet egg and ham mix and loaded with so much cheese that the color and shine was not pleasant to look at. the eggs were so wet with cheese that you could not tell if they were cooked. The pan fried hash browns were very greasy and the toast had about 50% butter coverage with the rest being dry. The service was great and we were very hungry that morning having travelled a long way. The other weird thing is that both of ordered the same but one of the dishes had about 25% more food than the other. Later that day I have very bad stomach cramps that lasted for a couple of hours and that was the only thing I ate besides a coffee in the same shop.
Dropped by here for breakfast before skiing. Beautiful ambience, lovely owner and staffs. Pan fries are the best!
Celiac friendly; offers many gluten free options. The staff was so friendly and helpful when it came to ordering a gluten free meal. I had the California Benny and it was delicious! Cant wait to visit Revy again and hit up the Big Bend Cafe :)
We stopped here for brunch on our way to Banff. It was a random choice but couldn’t have been better, small menu but with great options, great service, everything was absolutely delicious!!
We had a great breakfast here, you can taste that everything is prepared fresh with quality ingredients!Very good menu for kids and adults. There is alot of cool vintage stuff in and around the restaurant.
Awesome food! Needed to stop while on a long drive, walked in and ordered take away. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Portions were large (got the Texas burritoand the food was delicious. Price seemed reasonable and fair for the quality of food.
Amazing Cafe for breakfast! Had the California Benny, best Benny I have had! Lovely setting with history. Staff was extremely helpful , friendly and fast! Would highly recommend this place if you are in revelstoke!! Thank you Big Bend Cafe!!
Went for breakfast a couple days ago and the service was slower at first, but they made it clear that they were short staffed and the kitchen was running behind. The food was delicious and we left happy and full. We got the pancakes and the veggie frittata - SO good! Will definitely go back when I’m in Revelstoke.
Food was good, tasty and solid prices for what you get. The potatoes were super delicious, very crispy. The mugs were fantastic and held the coffee very warm. We were also brought a whole carafe to our table which was awesome.Service was lovely, attentive but not too much! The patio is nice. Pretty shaded. There are two bathrooms inside and you can pay inside as well.
The owner was serving us today and she was lovely. Great service, quirky decor and great hardy food! I got the veggie burrito and my friend got a burger. He said this burger was one of THE BEST burgers he’s ever had in a restaurant, I look forward to coming back for their trivia night and getting a veggie burger! :)
Passing through Revelstoke and decided to stop in for a quick bite. As most places were closed to Covid, the Big Bend Cafe was not. First time here and we were pleasantly surprised. The cafe is small but had very good Covid protocols in place. I had the Breakfast sandwich Avocado and Brie on a bagel. It was very tasty, reasonably priced and unexpectedly filling. My friend had the Sandwich version, Avocado, Brie and Tomato on Focaccia with fries. The amount of fries was quite large. Service was attentive with water jugs replenished as needed. Nothing fancy , just great food. Will definitely consider another future visit to try other items on their menu.
What a great place! Amazing food! Loved all of the old photos and historical pieces all around the place! Wonderful service from the owners too!
Great little restaurant. The portion sizes are really decent and the prices are reasonable. If youre in Revelstoke its definitely worth stopping to check it out. We will be back when were through again.
Nice location, beautiful views. A little rushed though, and customer service suffered. Big downer was no "thank you" after we paid our tab. Nothing. Otherwise, food was great.
Great atmosphere, decent food for the price. Good place if you are travelling and not wanting to eat fastfood over and over. We spent around 35 for two people including tips.
Decided to take the family out to this spot before heading back to Calgary and the food was very good. Portions were quite large, especially for our kids, but we still managed. Atmosphere is perfect for Revelstoke and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I ordered the frittata and my wife had the breakfast bowl. Both were good, nothing overly unique, just great breakfast food. Pancakes that the kids ordered were quite large but most managed to finish. Will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Revelstoke.
Great breakfast place in this little town :Owners are friendly and you get a lot to eat for a fair price. The decor is very 1900s and the street it is on is a nice place to walk around. Amazing egg options!
Good food decent price and good portions. Serve yourself for drinks. Best brekky in town that ive found so far.
Favorite place in town to get a hearty delicious breakfast everytime! Food has always been served fast and so good! Coffee is self serve and unlimited so expect to get off your seat and make your coffee just as you like it.Definitely recommend eating here
Great atmosphere, nice service. Great food. Lovely menu selection. Unlimited coffee or tea. A+
The owner who happened to be our server was not the friendliest person we have met but he might have been having a bad day. The meal was fine but we had to wait around 45 minutes to get it.
