1900 N Eagle Rd, Meridian, ID 83646, United States, Boise
Large venue offers a full bar & food with projected sports TV, a bowling alley, arcade & billiards.
Eat the Chicken Bacon Mac! It is worth EVERY penny! And the garlic cheese roll it comes with is worth EVERY calorie! Ill come here again just for the food.
Fuxx this place. Me and my family spent so much here. I dropped 40 on food 30 on drinks. I went to close out my bill, left my card after tipping the bartender 80 which was equivalent if not less than I spent on drinks and food . Upstairs I tipped 40 dollars. Again matching what I paid for food. Mind you my credit card got left, got took and got used!!! If not an employee , a p.o.s guest took my card and ran up 120 at Big Al’s , 115 at Walmart , 20 at shells.etc. Point is. Never going back.
Always fun bowling, but was only checked on once by wait staff. Pizza was undercooked. Everything was clean, though!
Ive come here often to watch the BSU games. I always like to order food and drinks. I say please and thank you when talking to the staff but (the female table waiters have an attitude problem and are disrespectful.)They also rarely check on their tables. At first I thought maybe they are having a bad night but when it keeps happening week after week its a problem. I will probably not be coming here anymore Im tired of feeling unwanted. Would not recommend!
Its a huge bowling alley and the service is great. I love that I can order and pay at the table with my app and they bring your food and drinks to you.
Food was ok. For the price you would think it to be better , 30 for a mediocre pizza, 30 for all chip, no topping nacho.. and 30 dollars for cold wings. Kids had a blast is why I give it 3 out of 5.
Food was great. No problem there. Wasnt too impressed that I had to walk up to the bar EVERYTIME I wanted to order a drink or had to order food or needed something else. Nobody came and checked on us once and it was not busy here. Our plates were never cleared off the table. We were done eating 45 minutes before we left. The bartender seemed more focused on the game than customers.
The nachos we ordered had almost no cheese on them. Plain tortilla chips are even worse when youve paid upwards of 30 dollars for them.
Arcade is awesome, and the ticket counter was really nice about everything. The food is pretty good downstairs- but pretty expensive. I would probably just eat before going unless you’re on a date. We did a teen bday party and the food was kind of a waste- they said it was too spicy or weird textures. The basic platter was fine but beer pretzel was kinda burnt and the sauce was spicy. Such friendly servers though. Date YES kids NO.
The very best customer service, very best food, we had a very clean pleasant welcome while eating enjoying the huge LCD TV screen watching the home football team . My family really enjoyed it.
Held a corporate party there recently. It was very confusing people telling me one thing, and it wasnt the case. Several things we were told were not the case, lane amounts, party rooms, but they ended up not included. I think the event person wasnt sure. 1750.00 dollars not really worth it, but live and learn. The charcuterie board was great though.
Came in on Sunday Sep.11th at 10:55 to watch the games. It was only a 1/3 full so plenty of seating. I sat at the bar top. 20 min later after I was finally asked if I wanted anything. I ordered a drink and asked for a menu. Another 15 minutes later someone else actually stopped and asked me if I wanted a drink? Lol. I said I still havent recieved my first one or a menu. Ive been here 40 minutes. I think Ill go somewhere else to watch the game. He LAUGHED and said ok... Have a good one. And turn around and walked away. Wth?TERRIBLE customer service. I used to come here all the time ....then I moved away. Just moved back and was pretty excited to catch the games here. I will never return. Lots of cool places to watch the games that actually care about their customers.
The food was above average pub grub, the cocktails were solid, as were the service and the US Open Tennis; which they put on the big screen! Boom! Go Serena!
We were given a lane? It didnt work. We were sent to another lane. Someone was working on several the lanes. Our current lane didnt work. We were sent to a third lane. It worked, but it was 26 minutes from the time of paying till the bowling began.
Bowling there is awful. Went there with 8 people (4 adults, 4 children under 10). It wasnt busy (Sunday ~1:30pm), but they have a policy where you cant get 2 lanes if its 8 or less. The ball return started to fail. They offered to move us, but I told them I brought my own ball and I need that back. After about 40 mins of them doing whatever, the kids took off. I mean 8 games on one lane takes a while. We (friend and Iended up going through the side door to look behind the pin setters in hopes of finding my ball since it didnt seem like they were actively looking for it. Then we pulled up the floor to see if it was stuck there. When they finally located it, I asked if the folks at the front could remove a frame, since they messed it up cycling the pins. They said they dont have the capability. By the time I got my ball back, the kids were no longer interested. I dont blame them. A single game shouldnt take hours. They did give me one free game. I gave that away. They messed it up for the kids, then basically said there wasnt anything they could do. Lesson learned.Bonus: Got charged for shoe rental when I used my own shoes.
The prices are so insanely overpriced and it has went way down hill. The lanes kept breaking, the floors were super sticky and gross. It needs a professional deep cleaning. Its just crusty and grimy everywhere. The bathrooms were super nasty and the service was terrible. The kids we were with said a bunch of the games upstairs were out of order too. In the future, well go anywhere else.
Visited a Birthday party for a cousin this past weekend. First time visiting. Not bad of a place.Saw some very appealing and revealing ladies... HELLO! Interesting that you would allow ladies like that with kids around. Lovely thoughts though.Restroom will need some loving with loose plumbing connections. Before leaving I took care of business and it felt like I was going to rip the pipes out of the wall.Overall...a good experience.
We decided to go to the village to see the fountain. I noticed they had live music at Bug Als so we went to check it out. I really enjoyed being able to sit outside and enjoy the music and watch others dancing. The employees were very friendly too. I will definitely be going back. They have lots fir kids and adults including a bowling alley!!
Went to Big Als with a party of 7 people who each spent anywhere from 50 to 70 dollars each to include buying food. We were on lane 14 with 4 people and at least 10 times we had to go to the desk to have our lane fixed just on our first game. And that’s not counting all the times staff noticed our lane stopped working and had to fix it. We only made it through our second game to round 2 when we asked for a credit or refund. The manager told me he would only give me a 8 dollar credit. When asked why only 8 dollars he said because we were still bowling. Our lane was completely down when he said this. He even looked at our lane an acknowledged it wasn’t working. I told him that he can ask the desk and they will tell him we have at least gone up 10 times not counting the times his staff had to fix it without us asking. He even acknowledged that this was true but said he doesn’t give refunds for games played. I again told him we can’t even finish our second game due to the lane not working. The manager said He would only give us a 8 dollar credit for four people. We even told him that this is our preferred bowling alley and we would like to keep it this way. He did not care. We ended up telling him to keep the 8 dollars as it seems the bowling alley needs it for their repairs.
Took our cashier 32 minutes to get through 5 groups of bowlers. Then we finally get checked out and she overcharged me by double and has to redo the transaction. Then our lane is broken ( jammed pinand it took 24 minutes to get support. Garbage service.Lane miscounts pins multiple times as well making it impossible to keep a real score.
There is a little bit of everything here for everyone! Sports on T.V and beer, adult and child oriented arcade games, a bar / candy-shack. Pop music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s. It was my anniversary with my wife and we took our little one out. First time here it was a lot of fun. They are have unlimited arcade playtime Thursdays through Sundays from 8pm to closing!
Overpriced! For 2 games for 2 people is more than 50 bucks. I could go to meridian lanes and get 5 to 6 games with that. And usually 30 minutes to an hour long wait just to get a lane that was already open. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
Took the grandkids for their summer special. Still had to pay for shoes. The lane bumpers and ramp for the little ones were easy to use. Just so noisy!
$2 Tuesday are the best! Great place to take the little one.
Great service, great food and drinks! Also a very handsome bar tender. I’d come back just for him! But seriously the cocktails are delicious. Thank you guys so much! Just what a gal needs after work.
Really cool bowling place. Pretty big venue not sure exactly when, but I saw that they have concerts on their patio. They have food and drinks, also a huge arcade with all the newest games! They also had VIP bowling with your own lane. We will be back next time we are in the area!
If zero stars counted, that is what I would give Big Al’s. Severely overpriced for what you get. The burgers had too much bun for the burger. The Near Death Burger has nothing in it to balance out the heat. One of the kid meals we order was the burger with applesauce, and it was less food than a happy meal and double the price.Service is incredibly slow because they only had two servers working together. While having 5-6 food runners. For all drink refills we had to flag down a server, and that took forever. The games are also overpriced. Big Al’s charges over triple the cost of their prizes. We spent $200 between food and games. At Wahooz or Dave and Buster’s we would have walked out with at least medium prizes. Here we got dollar store candy and stamps with almost 1200 tickets. We have absolutely no desire to return, and would not recommend this overpriced atrocity for a family fun night.
Good food, decent drinks, & great live music on the patio. Enjoyed the tunes & learned to arrive early to get a table or bring chairs to sit around the cement barrier. Minimal table service at best...
Great environment, great food, tons of fun!! Gotta check it out
Pretty sad place. There is a great selection of games, but many were broken down and about half the others didnt work properly. The Jurassic park game was actually showing an error message. There doesnt seem to be much of any maintenance on the machines. Sat down in the restaurant for about 20 minutes before someone came by (there were only 2 other occupied tables). The only redeeming factor was the people at the ticket redemption area, who were personable and helpful when a machine took our money and didnt work. Came with a gift certificate and wont be coming back. Dave and Busters has much better value, and if your only coming for bowling youre better off at your local ally. Skip this place.
You basic modern arcade, bowl and bar spot. Music videos playing in bowling alley and music about the building. 2Story building, quite large. One thing I will say though we were assigned our tables/area for bowling and arrived to the previous parties remnants. Employees were quick to clean up the mess but I was dissatisfied at first. Prices are affordable and bowling game went smoothly other than that.
Went with my wife and kids, the youngest being 5. After I entered names to play I selected the bumpers to be raised for my youngest. No bumpers raised. I then asked the front desk 4 times to raise them with no results. The customer service in this place is a joke. We would of stayed for several more games if all went well, but it didnt. Big Als management, just think of the revenue you are losing. Im sure multiple people leave due to difficulties with your establishment or your staff.
The atmosphere is great. My husband and I went bowling. The food was good to snack on and the bowling alley was older but well maintained. They do have an arcade that is upstairs from the bowling alley. We are definitely coming back.
We went for a Saturday of bowling as a family of 4 and it was terrible. We used to go to Big Als all the time. The cost for 2 games was insane, no service for food. We had to order at the bar, fill our own drinks and the food wasnt even fully cooked. We only ordered a sampler platter. We couldnt even get plates so we had to use the couple of napkins we got and it was $60. Probably wont be going back which is sad. It used to be our favorite place.
What a great place for a family activity. Tuesdays seem to be quite popular and budget priced. Clean place with lots to do and see. The grandkids loved cosmic bowling in the dark. For the smaller kids, they have a ramp that helps launch the ball toward the pins. If the bumpers are engaged it keep the ball in play a lot longer and peaks the interest of the younger kids. The evening activity was not expensive and was quite fun for all.
Incredible place for video games, bowling, family fun. We ate at the restaurant and the service was great, very friendly attentive servers. The food is decent, bar type good, I thought they were a bit pricey. Overall experience was good!
I love bowling here and playing the arcade games. The bowling was smooth and when the have the lights on it makes it more entertaining, and the arcade games were fun to play. The only complaint I have is some of the games need to be serviced and I wish they could take care of that ASAP so the gaming experience is back on top. The kung fun panda games button doesn’t register hits on the lower left. The air hockey loses its pucks constantly. Crossy road shut off on me mid play. Still had fun though won tons of tickets and won some big prizes and even gave one away to a random kid
Love the idea of Big Al’s, but they are pretty far behind in maintaining the property. When you are bowling, televisions and projectors are burned out. I have had no less than $20 stolen from me in their machines because their card system malfunctions. I want to love this place because my kids love this place, it not enough is dedicated to capex.
Had a good time coming here! We were confused because pur hoestess said we had to order on the app but then we ended up having a server come up and place our orders. Our server was excellent though. The food and beer were good too.
I visited big Als this evening to celebrate a birthday with some bowling amongst friends. The place was busy and the wait time for two lanes was 2 hrs which ended up taking longer due to an error in taking down my phone number to be notified upon lane availability.I dont quite understand the reasoning behind big Als not accepting reservations. While waiting on lanes I took an opportunity to sit down at a table in the restaurant and order some food and drinks. To my surprise I was informed to order food and drinks I would need to scan the QR code on the table or order up at the bar top. neither of which were ideal or a smooth process. The food and drinks were good but the process took longer than expected.Overall big Als seems as though it hasnt skipped a beat compared to pre-covid, in packing patrons in. Wait times on just about everything have taken a hit and are painfully slow.I believe Big Als management will fine tune the whole process as they continue to work through post covid adaptations.
Big als is a lot of fun! They have some really fun bowling (two different areas you can choose from toothe employees were all friendly. They also have a lot of arcade type games for kids to play as well. I really like the way arcade games are now. Instead of carrying around a pocket full of change you have a card loaded with money on it. You just go to the arcade games you wish to play and slide your card and it starts. They had dance dance revolution, jetpack joyride, guitar hero, basketball, skee ball, connect four, and many more! Big als has a lot of food options like burgers, wings, fries, pizza, etc. The also have a full bar upstairs for us adults and in that room there is darts, pool, a corn-hole type game, and I believe movies. All in all I had a great experience here and will likely be back for more fun!
So much fun! I took my nephews here while my sister was in town. We all had a blast! If youre ordering food or drinks, be prepared to wait a bit but the food was good and you cant beat this place for something fun to do on a hot summer day. Theyre open until 10pm on weekdays which is great!
What a great place to enjoy family time. I definitely recommend the fun cards if you have a crowd, its much cheaper. We played in the VIP part of the area and the seating was great. We ordered a pitcher of Pepsi and almost immediately it was delivered to us. Sad we ate before we came because its like a full service party, eat, play and have fun. Will be back for sure.
We went there today and had such a blast! First, we had this incredible lunch downstairs and it was nice and quiet, thoroughly lovely. Then, we went upstairs to the arcade and oh it was soooooo much fun! I am mobility challenged but they have an elevator so it was no problem. I cant wait for my sister to get here and show her this place. They even have a French Dip sandwich (her favoriteon the menu.
Skee ball machines dont work correctly. The middle one works, so if you want to keep score thats your best option. They were nice to give us our money back when we were trying to have a competition. Fun place. Good food. I had paid for a hot cocoa before I got it and it didnt come. I had to remind the staff. Wondering if I shouldnt have paid for it until it came? They have where you pay for your food and order online.
Fantastic place reminds me of Vegas a lot of cool games and bowling they are doing their best with the covid thing the restaurant process is kinda a mess but what can you do? Great place for the kids to have fun and cut loose
Theres plenty to do here by way of arcade games, bowling, food, etc, but I thought the "token" games were way expensive--like $1.25 for one turn on a simple arcade game that would have been 50 cents at Pojos. Bowling was fun, but nothing special. Felt kinda crammed in, actually.
55 foot tv! Watching sports has just been brought to a new level. Bowling alley is high tech. Special separate bowling area for groups and parties. Every video game imaginable upstairs. Fun times!
Every time we come to Big Als, we all have a great time. Large venue, multiple floors of fun activities. Food is good, drinks are good, staff are excellent and friendly. There is a great secluded private bowling area for birthdays or special occasions. There is a large sports restaurant area too. Plenty to do and get lost in.
Good environment to come and watch a sporting event. Good drinks, decent prices and good service. Ive also come here for company parties. Weve been in the "sliders alley" (I think thats what it is calledand the caddyshack room upstairs. Both were enjoyable with good catering.
