Homemade pizza, pasta and gelato in a convivial space with a separate bar and a garden courtyard.
It was really good, I had the lasagna
The food and staff were amazing. The beef cheek was tender and you could cut it with a spoon.
The entree was not only delicious but large. Dinner was really tasty, cooked perfectly the presention on the plate looked amazing. Would happily recommend to anyone.
Staff friendly and efficient, pasta was fresh and delicious.Would like to have had cocktails arrive before or with the entree, rather than after, but they were quite busy so this is entirely understandable!
Great restaurant, extraordinary nice staff, better book a table
Awesome foods and services
Excellent food. Excellent service. Loved the carpaccio, steak, nectarine salad. All amazing
What a wonderful place. Absolutely 10/10 for everything. This restaurant quickly became our number one favourite. We often dont go out to dine because we hadnt found somewhere worth doing so, however Bicicletta is Absolutely worth getting out of the house and enjoying a delicious Italian meal. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly as well as being quick and efficient.
Dont come for the food and dont bother coming for the cleanliness. When an Italian restaurant has a carbonara on the menu that specially states pancetta (after trying to confirm if it was specifically pancetta I found that the online menu is not updated)... you get the dish with three cubes and a bunch of bacon (bunch? Mass is a better word)... and it costs almost $30.The restraint might as well close their doors and stop wasting everyones time and money. The staff bust their butts on the floor, they should be treated with more respect let alone the customers. This is only one of many many problems I saw.Bicicletta, dont bother replying to this, just get your house in order.
Came here few days ago on Friday night. The restaurant is inside the hotel and hard to find parking. Everywhere is paid parking up the front. The menu is not extensive so we ordered some basic.Lasanga, Carbonara, Pizza and Chicken with Olive sauce and Kale chips. All are OK. They didnt impress. just basic.Carbonara did not taste much, just super basic, I could make this myself and excel!. Portion is very poor. For 28$. But If u order bolognaise, youll get big size.Lasanga taste 👍. Size is a ok. But can do more coz its just the lasanga in the middle. For 28 dollars.Chicken tastes great, tender and portion is ok but pairing it with oily kale chips, which some of them were only half crisp. Was not flattering at all. Overall was not impressed.Pizza is basic, taste good, dough is chewy.Honestly we came here because we received 50% off. If we had to pay full price, we wouldnt. As part of the disc, we had to order some beverage, the cokes and the ales. They were tasteless because they came from a big drum. So not fizzy, they are like stale drinks. We knew this.Service is good, the waiter that served us fulfilled all orders and got us what we needed. The interior is poor though.. very basic for the $$ they put up.The wall we sat against was super ugly, i feel like sitting against the old and broken bathrooms wall in the 80s. Not instagramable! So yes.. not thay flattering.
Pleasant atmosphere with attentive service in the bar area of the restaurant where we ate dinner. Main restaurant was fully booked but it was Saturday night so fair enough.
The food can’t get better and the prices are fair for the portion size. Always a great spot to get great food.Must to try especially in those freezing night chilli mussels and gnocchi Sorrentina. I cannot recommend this place enough! Such a warm and welcoming environment!
My new favourite Italian Restaurant in Canberra. Cant recommend it enough. The food, wine, service and staff were all excellent. A very enjoyable dining experience.
The food is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I love the service and enthusiastic to discover many gluten free and dairy free options.
From the starter to the dessert (superlative Nutella pizzathe quality and tastes of everything was outstanding, my have been the best meal I have ever been served. Carbonara was to die for. Service was delightful and very professional.Top one in Canberra and surround🥰
Food was awful. 8 meals ordered, 7 arrived - 1 just never turned up - and 5 out of the 7 had half the meals left on the plate. One had 2 mouthfuls eaten and the rest left on the plate. The service was just woeful. Wine glasses were left empty, you had to hunt the waitresses to get a drink and then they gave it to the wrong person on the table. Never, ever again.
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing and authentic Italian food. Beef cheek and Lasagna are the best dish we ever had. Can’t wait to come back once we are in townDefinitely spot on!
Just horrendous. The worst service Ive had in a long time. The menu they have on their webpage isnt the menu they have in the restaurant. They had specials but by 7.30 on a Saturday night the main specials had run out. When our meals came out the wrong meals were given to the wrong people, meals were missing and some of the meals that came out were just woeful - I could make better with pasta sauce in a jar from my local IGA. The wines were very underwhelming - and I tried 3 different ones - WHEN I could get the waitress attention to bring me another glass. Seriously the whole experience was terrible and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
We were at Bicicletta with a group of four. It was a busy Friday night, but surprisingly we hardly noticed. The service was friendly, quick and efficient and we were seated at a table in the corner where we could talk undisturbed. We had a variety of starters and main courses and all were tasty and generously portioned. The ravioli was different than expected, but good nonetheless - I personally love the arancini here.
Great service and good recommendations from staff. Fit me in with no booking. Definitely coming back 🙂
Love the vibe of the place and their menu was a good size - not too big, with a good selection of items. Our favourites would be the arancini, ravioli pappardelle and I personally cant go past a good sticky date!
Nice food, well presented and tasty. One of the staff was a bit surly and unfriendly, perhaps a bit stressed, but it was early and the restaurant was almost early.Other wait staff friendly but very inexperienced, seems as though some training is required. But if you can look past this the meal was nice and the setting very pleasant.
The sauce on the meatballs was a bit lacklustre, however the exceptional pasta dishes made up for it. Service was average. Limited range of beverages. Communication between departments within the hotel, as it relates to group-wide discounts, needs to be better as I have experienced less-than-ideal attitude from management staff, hence the three-star review. Definitely saw several points for improvement.Shame but I wont be rushing to come back.
Great restaurant with a bit of a rustic feel for casual dining with both indoor and outdoor seating. I have always found their pizzas and risotto excellent. If you don’t have a big appetite then share the pizza as they are a good size. Very convenient location near The Palace cinema when a movie/dinner combo is in order. It can be quite lively and a little noisy so not ideal if you want a quiet ambiance. The staff are generally very pleasant. It’s 4.5 ⭐️
A great place, the food was delicious - amazing pizza (much better than many other places), I also enjoyed the risotto. Staff was delightful and very accomodating. Despite some other comments in here, portions were big (or maybe we just ordered too much:loved it, will come back!
Amazing Italian food! We had the Margherita pizza, the Caprese Salad, the Meatballs and various cocktails - all beautifully cooked and fresh, plus they were presented in style! The cocktails we tried were all interesting and delicious too. We’ll be back for sure!!!
Fast service, friendly staff and decent food. We ordered Pappardelle Ragu and Gamberi. We enjoyed the meal but to be honest, there’s nothing too special about the dishes. The staff are a delight to talk and that’s what stood out in our visit.
What a great little find. First night of 2 and with a taste for authentic Italian we looked for somewhere close to the city. I booked online and turned up at the booked time. The concierge couldnt find my booking. It was then I realised I booked for the next day. The restaurant was fully booked but the concierge went out of his way and found us a table. The food was exqisite, 5 star and very tasty. If your looking for Italian taste make sure you treat your tastebuds to feast of flavour explosions. Book and go.
I’ve been here twice & both times have been amazing! Food is great & the staff are very friendly & helpful. I went for my birthday & they had set us up in a private room with some balloons to decorate, which was not asked for but the staff went above & beyond to help make my birthday celebration even better!
Excellent food, wines, ambiance and customer service. They do excellent Italian, with a good mix of the more traditional approaches to dishes and specials where they put their own spin on it. Not over-the-top experimental interpretations that seem to be the rage in the area. Highly recommended!
I realise that this is the first week back with state borders open, so as a result Bicicletta was jam packed. The food that I had was still lovely. However, not everyone was happy with their meals. The service was very slow and it was difficult to attract wait staff attention. Half of the affogato arrived and we were waiting 10 mins for the espressos to arrive. More wait staff were required for such a busy seating.
Very lovely little spot. The Arancini was amazing, and the ravioli is a must have. The atmosphere and staff service throughout the whole night were nonstop great. To top the night off I had the affogato. It definitely made my birthday dinner. The cocktails were amazing, the old fashioned is a must try
Very disappointed in this place. The cocktails we started with (Ol Rosiehad close to no alcohol in them - a poor first impression. There are way too many specials on the menu (~5-6and no prices were given; hard to recall them all in the first place, we had to ask the waitress to repeat them 3 times. Our table had 3 specials - lamb chop, duck breast and duck maryland. The lamb was good, but the other two werent. The duck breast was well undercooked - and I know what youre thinking, "Duck is supposed to be pink". Well this was purple and cold in the middle, it was so undercooked. The duck maryland was the opposite. It was so overcooked that it had the colour and texture of a pork chop. The flavours accompanying it were basic and bland; not hard to replicate at home. And yet the restaurant has the nerve to ask almost $40 a plate for these. The staff were friendly, but the menu is designed poorly and you can tell the kitchen struggle to execute on it. Extraordinarily average experience for $100 per head. AVOID.
If I could give a zero I would. However if you want your drinks served in great time then this is the bar to go to, would not call it a restaurant as restaurant generally serve food and in a reasonable time. After almost an 1½ the food finally came out but my daughter had already lost it by then and had to get my pizza to go. Lucky I did as I think I would have told the manager that if I wanted cold pizza in an 1½ I could have just ordered Dominos and let it on the counter for an hour.To the manager - Might I suggest a better option if you have a large group. Split the table service into smaller groups and just let us sit together but tell us that is the best option as you will get served efficiently.
The food is really good and the service is fairly good. They catered to allergy needs after some discussion but there was a small mix up in the courses for one of the people on our table. Entree needed to be served as a main but came with the other entrees and with a tartare sauce that was not allergy friendly. They could do dairy free, gluten free and even served a vegan sparkling wine for one of us allergic to dairy. The place was a really pleasant place to dine even on NYE during covid safe. Highly recommend the food here.
Delicious food and great service, we had the the Aperol and Lemoncello spritz that were refreshing. Bruschetta and focaccia for starter followed by Insalata Rucola and Bolognese / Ragú specials , desert was fabulous too with cannoli /pannacota with a side of chocolate hazelnut gelato and Port. will definitely come back.
Valentines day set 3 course menu with a glass of champagne included for $59. Restaurant was very busy as expected. Staff were polite and tried to be efficient. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for an entree. Also had to ask for a wine list twice before it arrived. Other meals followed pretty quickly but by this stage is was 9.40 eating our mains. (8pm was our dinner reservation). Would recommend eating here on a standard night and grab a pizza and glass of wine. I think they were overwhelmed on the night.
Great atmosphere and food! Wait staff were pleasant and efficient and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food (which was excellent)!Id definitely recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner if youre after something a bit upmarket. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.
The food was quite lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the Gnocchi and the fried seafood. The cured meat board left something to be desired, a very expensive ham salad comes to mind. But what was really disappointing was the service. I would have thought this place could afford to pay their wait staff enough to at least crack a smile. We felt in the way and an inconvenience.Even if the restaurant was packed (which definitely was not the casethe rudeness and lack of attention was really poor. The cocktail was good though.
Fantastic! Dinner was sensational with gluten free options clearly listed. The place got pretty loud, but to be expected on a Saturday night. Easy room for our child in a high chair and lovely service. Panna Cotta was TINY, seriously left wanting.
A very long wait for service. Wine served in a measuring jug. A shared starter arrived and it took 20mins for cutlery and plates to come. Took over an hour for mains to arrive. Food when it came was tasty but the length of time waiting was a big let down.
Went for dinner on a Sunday night. Delicious pizza and salad and good customer service. Ordered the seafood and lamb shoulder pizzas, cherry tomatoes salad and duck breast salad. Pizza had good crust and toppings, salad was fresh. Desserts (tiramisu and Nutella and banana tartwere ok.
Food was good. I had the seafood spaghetti (named something elseand shared a garden salad. The salad dressing was very salty. The spaghetti was delicious.Service was slow. Drinks order at the same time as food order and we had to go out of our way to ask for the dessert menu. Once ordered though, food and drinks came very quickly. When I went to pay, chef had priority over the paying customer. The atmosphere was great, toasty warm. Toilets were broken, kept running.Overall a nice place. Not sure if I would go again.
Great restaurant with a menu to match. Fast, efficient service. A bit noisy and crowded, but the amazing panna cotta helped make up for that.
This is a tale of two sittings. Two radically different meals, a dinner and a breakfast.Don’t bother with this place for dinner. There’s lots of problems. At dinner the restaurant is noisy. Annoyingly so. Worse, the food is excessively ordinary and stupidly overpriced. I chose the barramundi with whipped ricotta and a capsicum and fennel salad. I would have had major issues with the dish had it been $29, but at $39 bumped up to $42 with the holiday surcharge it was nothing short of highway robbery. I felt financially defiled. It was a tiny piece of fish. Well cooked but still tiny. The skin was cooked though so it wasn’t crisp but rather rubbery and chewy. The salad was small but ok. The whipped ricotta was a tiny little smear on the plate. The whole thing was barely entree size. My favourite thing on the plate was a half of lemon. I tried to squeeze the juice on my little bit of barra. I could barely extract a drop of juice. More attention had been paid to chargrilling the lemon than to ensuring there was still some juice left in it. Ergo, it was there for decoration only.My loved one had a spaghetti marina which was small salty and just ok. At $32 it was significantly overpriced too. I could go on and on about other aspects of our meal like our overpriced salad and mineral water, but I won’t. Essentially, the restaurant is a poor option for dinner. The food is ordinary and very overpriced. Portions are small. The establishment is aiming for a level that it can’t currently reach. For dinner, I’d give this restaurant 1.5 to 2 out if 5 only. I would never eat here for dinner again.Unbelievably, breakfast was a totally different experience. A continental breakfast came as part of our deal. After the dinner experience we were expecting very little joy. But, breakfast is a lot better. Like totally different. They have a super little continental breakfast here. It’s thoughtful, well designed and delicious. Lovely cold meats, good cheeses, really good bread, lovely olives. Etc. Terrific oatmeal and natural yoghurt too. The toasted walnuts delighted in a way I find hard to describe. The coffee was not bad and the available fruits reasonable too. Overall, it’s a good hotel breakfast.Service was ok both times. Probably students I’d say earning extra cash. They did as well as they could. This is not a restaurant. It’s a fairly basic cafe really. It’s not a dinner venue unless you’re into basic food at very high prices. Breakfast though is good fun and reasonable. You’ve been advised.
Great food and service. The pork belly and papardelle ragu were delicious!
I went there for the first time. Staff were friendly and smile on their face. We ordered chicken burger and crispy Barramundi. Chicken was specifically merinated and deep fried. Chicken was amazingly tasty. I really loved the flavor of ginger and special spice used. Chilly sauce used in bun was so tasty as well.Barramundi was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. Cream was tasty and broccoly was well cooked.Pricing was done fairly for the food. I really enjoyed the food. I will definitely come back to Canberra and have food here. Keep serving great food like this. Cheers....
I didn’t find anything special about this place. The food was average, expensive, came in very small portions (we were all still hungry after we left). The staff do know their menu quite well though, and are good at recommending dishes. It’s in a nice location (New Actonbut the setting/decoration/ambience isn’t anything extraordinary. Not coming here again because the price doesn’t justify the quality or quantity of food. Would not recommend.
Lovely interiors and very busy on the weekends due to which service gets slow. We didnt reserve a table and had to wait for a while to get one. The prices are on the medium to high end. Its a lively place with a well stocked bar. Enjoyed my evening.
Charming little Italian restaurant tucked away in a leafy New Acton courtyard. I enjoyed the mushroom gnocchi and the limoncello cheesecake that I ordered but thought it to be quite expensive for what you receive.
