Betty's Bay Main Beach in Hermanus

A stunning beach. Usually not busy. Take note of the rip tides, though, they are dangerous if you dont know the beach

It was nice and peaceful, just the place I needed as part of my weekend getaway. Seeing penguins made the visit worthwhile.

I visited this place recently and it was not so cold at all. My grandchildren took the opportunity and didnt hesitate to throw themselves in the water

Wonderful beach to have a walk around run on. The waves are very friendly but saw surfers enjoying themselves properly. Water almost warm enough to enter without a wetsuit

What a wonderful beach - long open stretches and clear water, with great sand.But a couple of things let this beach down: there is no accommodation for wheelchair users, the parking gets muddy when wet, and the toilets are in a poor state.And its really a pity for such a great beeach popular with the locals and tourists.It feels safe and though there were no lifeguards on duty, the water seemed calm and there didnt appear to be many holes.However, there is a rip current warning, so exercise caution when going for a swim.

Parking lot close to the beach. Plenty of sand and shallow with nice waves.

I prefer this place rather than boulders beach because the beach and the mountains are amazing and you can see more penguins and the entrance is just 25 Zar also parking is esaer

Took a drive on Freedom Day, unexpectedly landed at this gem of a place. Daughter enjoyed the almost empty beach - for her alone to swim!😁

The beach was amazing its just a pity our timing was out as the weather did not play along. And the fish did not bite.

Very beautiful but stinks to high heaven because of the rotting kelp on the beach. This also accomodates a million flies as well.

Rather disappointed how dirty the beach at Dawidskraal was. Faucet I ladies washrooms is broken. Precious water running down the drain

Very nice beach and gorgeous mountains. Dogs on leashes are allowed and often see surfers in the water.

A quiet sea side town, the beach is most closed off to protect the Penguins, but that was no problem, as they were the reason we were here.Loved experiencing them up close into a natural habit, appreciated that everyone there was there to enjoy them without disturbing the penguins. A wonderful experience

Great beach for a long dogwalk or a swim, parking gets a bit crowded in season. Shower facility in.parking area is great to wash off salty water.

What a wonderful time we had . Just some Un invited quest came to visit our house the Baboon family.

Nice little hiking trail along the beach.Lots of rocks but honestly a beautiful little beach.Very windy place though so couldnt go to the beach much.

Bettys is just lovely... Check the weather first, the wind can make it uncomfortable. There are good toilet facilities (if it doesnt rain, because they flood then). Dog friendly. Locals are friendly.

Stunning beach that has healthy dune system still in place. Please take care when walking to stay on the worn paths.Great for swimming and surfing. Best conditions for surfing on NW wind.Watch out for rip tides.

Lovely beach...Just at the moment a bit covered in Kelp after the very strong westerlies we had 2 days ago.Found a lovely path through to Stony point this morning to finish off an awesome mornings circular hike.

It was nice open and free with fresh sea breeze to inhale and great for a picnic and to relax.

Stunning view if you do the hike along the beach. You can view penguins from the parking lot. We were not that lucky but we did walk past nesting grounds. Found a beach made out of big shells and a rock that looks like a reptile sunbathing

A nice place to view penguins. Most of the area is cornered off for the birds. It is a nice spot, probably as good as the aquarium in Cape town to view them. This is not a beach for leisure. Large sections are cornered off. There are other beaches close by that can be used for leisure. Plenty of dassies are sometimes out and about as well.

Unfair to judge as we went on a cold and wet overcast day, to do some video shooting on the beach and rocks. But beach seems clean and nice. We spent most of the time by the rocks.

Clean beach with a decent crowd. Lifeguards on duty. Surf fishing and surfing. Perfect and ideal setting with a back drop of the mountains.
