Moreover, a business is only allowed to ask you two questions when assessing your service animal:"Is the dog a service animal required because of your disability?""What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?"In almost all cases, any additional inquiry is not allowed under the ADA. However, many businesses demand to see "paperwork" documenting the qualifications of service animals, or worse yet, the extent and nature of your disability. This is highly illegal.
My favorite hotel in HB.Love the style, love the parking, love the super comfortable beds.Location is IDEAL, close to everything. We always come here when travelling to OC.
Worst place I have ever stayed. I am traveling for work, and have stayed at 3 other hotels throughout California in the past 7 days.DO NOT STAY HERE!Brown water came out in the shower (front desk said to let the water run for 20 seconds because the boiler was fixed, that was 2 days ago), smells like cigarette smoke in the room, there is a loud sound coming from the mini bar, the cover on the bed has bleach stains, towels are old and are a greyish color (supposed to be white), the mattress and pillow are uncomfortable. No outlets to plug in chargers near the bed.Oh, and if you are on the 1st floor, you hear everyone above you, and any people coming and going to the parking lot….In summary, a terrible option!
As a retiree who travels a great deal, this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. To begin with, the bed was rock hard, the pillows were the size of large basketballs, the chair was ripped and torn, and the maids ran out of hand towels. Worse yet, in the morning, we had no hot water. When I finally tracked down the manager (i.e., no one was at the front desk or answering the phone), she exploded at me as if it were my fault that there was no hot water in our room. As I tried to explain the water situation, she sarcastically told me to find another hotel if I was unhappy with this Best Western…which we ended up doing. While my wife and I generally are very pleased with Best Western…….the Surf City branch should be renamed the “Worst Western.”
Beds are clean and bug free. Nice and quiet. Good sized breakfast, but the coffee sucks. Friendly staff. Perfect for short budget stays.
They are trying to charge me $100 for "rips and stains on the sheets" which I absolutely did not do! This was my first time staying here; I normally stay at the Marriot Spring Hills up the street but I figured I would give them a try. Never again. I cannot believe they are trying to falsely accuse me of this! Maybe this is the only way they can make their money.
We loved the place! Under 10 minutes to the beach and a nice bar next door! The bed was super comfy and the place was updated and clean. We checked in past midnight and had no issues, even found parking easily. The only negative thing I could say is the 10am wakeup call to remind you to be out by 11am. After getting in late we did not appreciate that. We can well read the time. If its 10 minutes till 11 or 11 on the dot thats more understandable, not an hour though. That was the only thing we REALLY didnt like.
The motel is very clean and safe. Great location, about 6 min from Huntington Beach pier. Professional team members. Pool was nice, hot tub too. Breakfast was just ok because they are still doing to-go (maybe because Covid, idk). Would definitely stay here again.
The rooms were clean staff helpfully they had breakfast but wasnt the best the location was awesome right across the street from Disneyland. They have a pool and hot tube .
Great courteous staff and interaction was wonderful. Lean, quiet, cleaned pool in the evening, food available, it was a good stay! 🫶🏼. Water pressure low. Carpet; well, it’s a beach motel so…🤷🏿♀️. Most all amenities were on point, staff friendly and resourceful, helpful, and courteous. Shout out to evening check-in guy. Owners wife was pleasant too❤️.Clean, and neat, sheets fresh and clean. Breakfast was appropriate and adequate and enough!
The hotel is run down and dirty. When we booked online it stated multiple times we’d receive a full hot breakfast, this was not the case. In the morning we went to the lobby and they handed us a box with an egg a piece of regular bread and boiled potatoes and said that’s all they offer. Other guests were confused as well, there was no variety, no place to eat and no other choices. The food was disgusting with no flavor it felt like we were eating a prison meal. The next morning we went down to see if maybe they would serve something better but were told the food is always the same: barely cooked egg, plain bread and mushy boiled potatoes. The hotel itself is noisy and looks sketchy. The photos online look much nicer than the place actually is. Overall it was unsatisfactory and we spent more money eating out breakfast every morning and trying to keep busy just to stay away from the disgusting hotel than we would’ve spent just staying somewhere else to begin with. We learned our lesson and won’t ever stay with best western again.
Not worth how much i paid. My room felt like there was a sinkhole in it. Literally soon as you walked the the door in felt as if the floor was going downward. Right before the bathroom door i felt the floor & it felt bad. The room is not safe. When we arrived it was nice & clean looking. Only 1 full roll of toilet paper & a almost done roll (barely any toilet paper left). We asked for couple more towels & they felt still damped feeling. Then We were bummed the spa was still broke. We did use the pool, it was nice. If we knew spa was still broke we would of booked else where. The only thing good was a comfy bed. Didnt hurt our back at all. They have a cute lil coffee machine in room. Just bummed how this place was & it was pricey. Wish it was better.
We stay in Best Westerns when we road trip for vacations or sports frequently. This was the worst one I have ever stayed in. The room smelled awful. It had a very strong sour old water smell from the AC. Our shower was broken and required fixing during our stay. They were very quick at fixing it but then the tub didn’t drain.
Well run, well maintained, clean, efficient and priced well in this post COVID world. The staff were helpful. Pool was open and well maintained. Only negative was the jacuzzi was down. The staff explained. Waiting on city for a work permit. I would stay here again even without a jacuzzi.
