Best Western Plus Atlantic Beach Resort in Miami Beach
Description
Why was it poor where can I begin….booked this hotel for a week with a ocean front room and looked very forward to it but when I got here after a long day of traveling I thought it was okay until I went to my room. Very dusty room smells very bad and fridge doesn’t even work properly. Not to mention there’s no microwave what so ever even though I stayed for a week. Even the cheapest MOTELS have microwaves how sad is that. Bathtub water doesn’t come out properly neither does the sink water. Only have 25 spots for parking in a very tight lot that would only fit compact vehicles. I can keep going. I asked to change rooms but I already paid for my ocean front room and they told me they’re not sure when another room would be available. Overall it was a horrible experience in this hotel. Get a better hotel nearby and don’t be me stuck here for a week smh
MoreQuiet affordable stay in Miami right on the beach!! Need I say more, well yes... This hotel is located on North Beach so your away from the hussle and bustle of South Beach. However if youre craving the crowds its only about a 35 min walk on a beautifully paved walkway. This was our second time staying here this year. Check in is simple enough, the staff were kind and they will even store your bags if arriving early. There is a deposit required, as at many hotels now, so prepare for that. Typical Best Western rooms. The hallways do have an odor and it can be profuse thats why I took away 1 star. However the rooms are decent especially rooms with balconies, giving you fantastic views. I cant express how lovely it was to wake up with an ocean view🌅, or the breeze flowing through your balcony as you fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean 🌊. There is only 1 ice machine on the ground floor, and no microwaves but if your on a budget this place is a gem. Pro tip! there is a toaster oven on the 4th floor next to the pool table😉 Enjoy your stay and dont forget to tip the staff!
MoreWe have stay 8 night with 2 little girls.Nothing but great experience over all.Location, pool, bar and more. You really dont need to rant a car - very good public transportation is near by.Hotel staff was very nice and warm.Seriously I dont get the bad reviews
MoreMy experience was overall positive. I had no issues with any staff and the rooms were clean and a great price for a hotel directly on the beach. A little outdated decor but a nice experience. I liked the balcony and view from our room as well.
MoreLocation is good, they close the pool early and the pool table ball to play is broken, the best they have is the coffee bar, the girl was very nice and professional we had the suite with 2 rooms call hotel they never answer, until the next day, I stay with my brother and my daughter left small stuff animal I call because is very important to her and first they said wait until housekeeping come in at 11 then I call again they transfer me and never answer the phone again. I had similar issue were my dad left something & I was taking care they even send it to my home even tho I pay the shipping but I was grateful because they really care for us at that moment. If u want people.to come.back be more caring with your guest.
MoreThe staff was wonderful about holding onto luggage while waiting for check in and waiting for the flight. Check in was fast and easy however1My room wouldn’t get any cooler than 75 and it was not comfortable to sleep in2Their pool table had no chalk and was missing two balls. When asked if they had replacements they did not3Their website states that they have beach towels and chairs, yet during my stay they were locked up and unable to use4The bar hours vary and are odd and short5It says they charge for room service each day so I chose to only have it cleaned when I left, yet each day they would knock for room service and I would be asleep
MoreI don’t understand who can honestly give this hotel more than one star. This was one of the worst experience I’ve had. Especially being my first time visiting Miami. We arrived rooms weren’t ready makes sense, but staff told us there was no more parking available anymore until the next morning at 8am. When the room keys were provided the rooms were nothing like the pictures. Room too small. No microwave in rooms. The parcial view to ocean was a joke. The pool never had beach towels. The had mold all over the walls. Had too much chemicals. The next day I went at 7:40 to ask about reserving a parking spot staff responded rudely and said come back at 12 pm. Just an unpleasant experience. And really over priced this is nothing like a resort. More like a motel.
MoreI don’t recommend staying here!!! I’m sure you can find better hotels for just a few more bucks, if anything, the same price. My check-in was supposed to be at 4 P.M, but the rooms weren’t ready until 6. I was left on hold by the staff for a while, so I just hung up.The photos of the rooms on the website are not the same in person. I booked a suite and asked for a room with a better view over the phone, and the staff had an attitude. As a loyal customer to Best Western, I’m disappointed in my stay here. It’s ridiculous how there are 9 floors and only one ice machine that’s always broken!! The only ice machine here is on the first floor, which wasn’t working properly the two times I tried to get ice. Only 3-6 ice cubes came out both times. There’s no complimentary breakfast, and it’s extremely overpriced. DON’T STAY HERE!!!
MoreThere is no parking. Understand the location parking is challenging however PEOPLE HAVE CARS therefore the business should expect to accommodate that. Kind of seems like they don’t care about parking because the staff so nonchalantly says oh you can park at the $40lot across the street. As per the staff directions, i went and was told i can’t park there because it was for hotel guests only (not best western). Aside from parking being nonexistent, i had an issue with there being no shower curtain and nothing diving the shower water from the bathroom. So low and behold when i went to shower, the entire bathroom was soaked and gross when i got out. The lady at the desk was nice and said i could change rooms. I didn’t have issues after that except i lost my view. The lobby smells great, the rooms were clean and the staff was decent (can’t say good bc there was one rude comment made by a staff personbut if you don’t mind not parking, I’d recommend. It’s right off the beach amd the pool has a separate beach entrance. It’s pretty cool. Pool goes to 6feet and it’s very close to the beach. Hope this helped
MoreI really don’t know why people are complaining, this place is great for the 3 star hotel, great location, u can access everything, there is a CVS on the other side of the street, like a minute walk, good restaurants around. Upon our arrival Janet was very helpful, she provided us a key to access the pool and the beach while we were still waiting for to be checked in, so we saved our day. People are here to relax, all families, the pool is a little small thou but the view is awesome, we got a partial ocean view on the PH just because we checked in very early, everything was great, would definitely come back, not with the breakfast buffet next time thou.
MoreStayed here for 5 days last week and had a great time!Staff were incredibly helpful, we got stuck in the flood the first day of arrival. We were lucky and were able to check in early. In the morning due to all the rainfall we had a leaking roof in the bathroom, I informed the manager at the front desk and she had maintenance come check out the issue within five minutes. The manager moved us to another room on the 7th floor and helped us out with parking. The hotel was clean and housekeeping was also very helpful if I needed extra supplies throughout my stay. The beach was gorgeous and a one minute walk from the hotel. The gym was clean, had the basic work out machinery and free weights. The only negative thing I could say about the hotel is the noise pollution when trying to sleep at night. The windows arent the best quality so we could hear all the noise from the street level and drunk guests making their way back to their rooms late at night. Aside from that the staff were lovely and I would suggest this hotel. Its right on brand for a best western/4 star hotel
MoreMy favorite beach front hotel on Colin’s Ave. Every employee is so friendly. The rooms are spotless with beautiful views. You can pay for parking (worth itbut there’s street parking on the whole block surrounding the hotel. Very short walk to the beach. There’s a 24 hour CVS across the street. There are kid’s games by the pool are and lots of patio seating. We’ve stayed here over 10 times and I’ve never had a complaint.
MoreThe front desk clerks are rude and do not know how to handle a customer complaint! Upon arrival my room did not have hot water to the point I was not able to shower. I couldn’t call the desk because only the night auditor was there and it was made clear she does not handle complaints. When I went to inform the front desk the next morning the clerk, Jena basically told me it was my fault for not calling the desk. She not once apologized for the inconvenience or see how she could turn an upset guest to a happy one. The called maintenance to my room who arrived 5 minutes later. He turned on the water and yelled it’s hot while walking out the room. I then told him that it was out last night he then turned around closed the door and proceed to yell at myself and two sisters about the building being old, the floor being at the top, and something about a boiler . He also told me he did not care if I called corporate because he’s been working there forever and will continue to do so. The yelling had us scared and we Almost called the police. The manager Pedro was extremely rude and didn’t show any concern about my issues within his hotel. He told me he would call me before leaving for the day and never did.. this location needs customer service training ! After Paying almost $800 for 3 nights my stay should have been stress free and smooth. The staff even went the extra mile to customer relations I refused service from Maintenance so they were not willing to give any refund.
MoreI dont really understand where the negative reviews are coming from. This is an excellent stay where you get your moneys worth.Firstly, even though check in was at 16, our room was ready when we arrived at 10 and was made available to us free of charge. The receptionist was very polite, and the whole process of checking in and out was a breeze. Everyone I met from the staff was polite and accommodating.Sure - the hotel isnt the most luxurious - but the location is excellent, it is safe, the rooms are clean, and the price is very fair. We especially liked the beds that werent too soft. The pool area is good, though it can get a bit crowded. The beach access is also very convenient. If I were to visit Miami Beach I would stay again.
MoreI made sure to take the time out to leave a review. Me and my family throughly enjoyed our stay. Great access to the beach the pool was nice and warm. Every time I walked in the building it smelled clean and amazing. Front desk was super helpful with parking and other accommodations, and the suite was very spacious for me and my family. I definitely recommend it.
MoreThe staff was extremely unprofessional and unaccommodating. I had paid for an ocean front room for my 2 night stay and was given a partial ocean view on the basis that their ocean front room had a water leakage and all other ocean front rooms were booked. This is not the guest’s fault. It was my mom’s 60th birthday vacation and because of this, our trip was off to a very rough start. Even after asking countless times for a supervisor and manager, we were told both supervisor and manager are in meetings for 2 hours… this was during the prime time check in and both manager and supervisor were unavailable!!After asking to be compensated for ruining my mom’s vacation, the best they did was $30 a night… that is not enough for wasting one’s time and ruining a vacation. They kept insisting we cancel the reservation…. what kind of hotel does that?? WHY would one cancel the hotel THE DAY OF THEIR VACATION that they booked a long time ago in advance???I also booked this hotel because they said they have beach chairs available as complimentary amenities, however you have to pay to use them.Parking here was a disaster as they only have 25 spots and you have to go searching for street parking all the time. They had so much false advertising!!Even the key cards did not work!!! Every time we tried to use the key card, the door wouldn’t open and we would have to go downstairs to get it reactivated. We had to get the key cards reactivated at least 10 times. The rooms were fairly old and the beds seemed like they were made of nails… There was no cleaning and maintenance throughout your stay… Horrible hotel and even worse staff! Never stay at this hotel.I have never written a review but this hotel really pushed me to write one. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.
MoreI read numerous reviews prior to booking my reservation and after my reservation was made. I was slightly concerned prior to our arrival. We traveled in from Indiana for a week on the beach. We booked the two room executive suite with balcony. The only thing I wish this room had was an ocean view, but besides that it had two bathrooms, a mini fridge with freezer and a microwave. A full size refrigerator would also be a huge upgrade for a beach trip. The balcony was a nice size overlooking Collins Avenue. We had room service clean our room and fresh towels daily which was also a complaint I read about in other reviews. There is a CVS right across the street that has everything you will need for your trip. There is also a liquor store just a block or two away. We absolutely loved Miami Beach and the location of this hotel.
MoreI have traveled to many places within the US and International. I have to say that this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in a very long time. For Miami...at $200 plus/night...unacceptable. Arrived late (around 10:30pm due to flight delay). I got checked in and got to my "Ocean View Room"...to look down and see the parking lot and the side of the neighboring hotel. I went down to the desk and confirmed the room type, she confirmed. I told her that the room she gave me was not sufficient for the "ocean view". She then asked if I wanted to check out! I told her..."You just checked me in less than 20 minutes ago and Im from Minnesota...where am I supposed to go?!". She said that I could check back in the morning to see if I could get a different room but most likely wouldnt have anything. We decided that at this point we didnt have a choice to go anywhere because of the music festival and Spring Break...everything was sold out. I called booking.com to make the complaint. They tried calling the front desk three times and no one answered. I also tried to call to the front desk and no answer. I also heard from a handful of other people that no one ever answers. Anyway, the facility was not great. Our bedding had black fingernail polish stained on it and one of the thin comforters had burn holes all over it. One roll of toilet paper, tub sinking in the middle of it, water leaking from the tub faucet, patio chair had cigarette burns in it, phone and room smelled like old cigarette smoke, and the weather seal around the patio door was almost completely off making it hard to stay closed. Only benefit was it was right across from a 24hr CVS and the beach was a couple minute walk through the lobby and pool area. Ill be staying at the Cadillac next time I come to Miami.
