Best Western Gustaf Froding Hotel & Konferens in Karlstad

This is probably the worst hotel room Ive ever stayed in and I got close to 200 hotel nights a year and theyre not all good. This is old, alot of wear and some stuff is broken. Room 224 should be rented out for free.

- everywhere you go it smells dusty,- the rooms dont get cleaned unless you ask for it,- everywhere things are broken (elevator lights, ceiling tiles, wall sockets, glasses),- the beds are the worst i ever laid on,- everything feels sticky,- you dont get glasses with your drinks unless you ask for them,- the door to the room only closes when you smack them hard,- the foyer smells like the food that was served thag night, sadly enough my night was fish night- the bar closes at 22:00.only plus point is that its close to the city center.horrible place even for 1 night.

Hotel is ok, clean but old, it’s getting renovated right now. Breakfast is really good as the welness is. Diner also recommended.

We stayed here only for one night from our way back Norway. We were very amazed at the service quality and amenities including free parking and access to swimming pool offered by this hotel. The furniture in the room was a bit worn out but it was very clean and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was very generous as well. We would love to come back and stay here soon.

Rooms are perfectly ok, its clean, comfy the bath room is well designed. Quiet. The restaurant is fabulous.

This is a good hotel, but sadly it is currently under renovation, so some construction noise is to be expected. Renovated bathrooms are great though, i hope they do the rooms next, as the rooms are becomming quite dated.

Clean, good breakfast, comfortable for dogs.

Comparing price to other hotels in the area it is great. But if you take a simple room which is "cheaper" you get separated beds. It looks like it is 200 years old. Or maybe thats the room I got. Still price is big, compared to other places even in bigger cities. But its bearable...

We went to Karlstad during these Covid-19 times. The hotel is large but is starting to get a little worn. Breakfast was limited during this period, the restaurant had limited opening hours during other times. Friendly and helpful staff and we were well cared for throughout our stay. The hotel is located a little outside of Karlstad but they have bikes you can rent with very good bike paths to and from the city center.

Classical Europe style hotel, a lots of wood furniture, feels like home~ the breakfast is nice too, u can make urself a waffle!

Great breakfast, varied and fresh, good coffee. The room was comfortable and quiet, we enjoyed the sauna and the pool table in the lobby. An extra plus for the pet friendly environment.

Realy good, comfortable, close to the road and not so far from city center. Clean but bathroom looks realy old fashioned. Breakfast is delicious.

The pipes in the walls make noise, the installations are old and deteriorated, you can hear everything that happens in the halls... And I dont understand in what universe a standard bathroom would look like this

Nice location for short time stay. A very dog friendly, very nice welcome and staff in reception. Breakfast service should be developed.

The rooms can be updated a bit with a few more amenities but it does the trick. This place is a hidden secret when food is concerned. I will travel many miles again just to have the salmon and mash potato mix which costs about 235 SEK. It is hands down the best in all of Sverige!! The staff are friendly and there is a nice cosy, family feel to the place. Ive heard it can get lively on weekends as well...

The suite was very nice, the reception top notch and the food better than average.

Room met my needs, awesome breakfast, good relaxing lounge, very friendly staff!

Overall the hotel room and expertise was great. It was clean when we came there, just a little bit dusty. A situational item that could be better was the ac, which in this case was not good enough on an over average hot day.

at the bar outside(20180712), a boy with glasses and slight long hair(tied upserved my family really nicely.. he made my first impression of sweden!! i love sweden haha

Decent room. No chalk for pool table ceues. Hamburger average. Friendly staff. Two 3-phase charging outlets for EV charging. Nice swimming pool.

Good hotel, prices vary, rooms are nice enough... Not much to say, its a best western hotel so you pretty much know what youre getting.

I liked the stay at Gustaf Fröding Hotel and Conference. Staff is friendly and helpful and the facilities are very nice. Highly recommended!

The hotell is lovely, and the staff is amazing!! The best part is that the bed didnt break when I jumped on it!

Average hotel with good service and welcoming personnel. The location, however, was further from Karlstad centre than they claimed. Their common rooms were less renovated then expected and included, only, a water boiler and some towels(including the expected ofcourse)4/5

The front desk girl was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious, clean and had a view of the pool. All the staff we encountered during our stay were pleasant and helpful.

Not a great place. Bad service, rude staff and the facilities are VERY simple. Stayed for 1 night and then I left. Better value for money in other places in this city.

Awful hotel that I cant recommend anyone to stay at. The whole complex has a bleak and dystopian feel about it – very gray and dull. Staff was alright but the management is extremely ill-behaved and elitist.The room was hardly worth the price. Pick another place.

You will risk getting your booking canceled!

Comfortable hotel, though you have to be aware its pretty much out of the way. You need a car to reach the city center.Extensive breakfast collection, at dinner theres also a buffet available for a very reasonable price. All in all a decent choice to stay, as long as you have your own transportation.

Service is good, rooms are very clean and well equipped with plugs, lamps, pens, tea and notepads. Breakfast is excellent.

Ok hotel for a reasonable price. Ask for a room away from the pool if you want to sleep in. No minibar. Free parking just outside. Need a taxi to get somewere
