Brekkie and lunch, plus artisan pastries and bread, in a stylish, refurbished Federation-era shop.
Nice food, can get really busy though. Service was great too and theres a nice selection of treats to take away as well.
Today my mother and I enjoyed breakfast at the Berry Sourdough Cafe. It is hands down the best place to go for breakfast or lunch in Berry! Food, coffee and service was 10/10. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!
Had a great breakfast here on Sunday. We had a big group and the staff were very accommodating, and nailed all the orders without missing a beat! The food was excellent and i had a delicious single origin coffee. Definitely recommend if you want to escape the busy high street eateries.
Lovely cosy cafe with rustic decor and an interesting menu with light food and cakes and pastries.
When we travel, we always try to seek out a good local bakery and quite often we will find something we really like. Berry Woodfired Sourdough has been on our list for sometime and we were happy we stopped in for a visit. Set in a cottage in the quiet leafy back streets of Berry, its a quaint historic spot that is in keeping with its heritage. Appealing to look at from the outside, and a steady line of people moving in and out, its a good sign of whats behind the doors. Step inside to a large area and the visual receptors are in overdrive. Wherever to look first? Its breakfast time and there are many things vying for attention! First we are drawn to the counter for the baked treats, then the rack of bread and then you come across something that is the heart of this establishment, the Wood fired oven, which is cast and very ornate with an old industrial charm. The space is rustic in its decor, including restored interior, the teal coffee machine, wooden tables and flooring. We are seated inside, there is also some seating on the enclosed veranda for smaller groups. Viewing the menu only creates an issue, the question of what to order? So many of the items appealing enough to order. It takes being put on the spot to make the decision. Ordering the hearty and tasty breakfast of Scrambled eggs with house made kimchi and chipolatas. Once you have finished breakfast, its impossible to leave without purchasing some of their European inspired baked goods, with a range of tarts including macadamia, prune and custard, raspberry and almond, pear and chocolate. There are also savoury options; sausage rolls, savoury muffins quiche and we had to take some of that woodfired sourdough home with us. Berry Woodfired Sourdough is a must visit when in the Shoalhaven area, it is worth planning a drive for this alone, let alone all of the other attractions in the area.
Excellent. A great place for food, coffee and patisseries/desserts. Staff is friendly and professional. Kids friendly too!
Situated at the end of the little shopping street. Plenty of street parking available. It had the usual cafe menu selection. I ordered the chai latte, eggs Benedict and omelette. Everything was delicious and well made. There were a couple of bread and pastry options inside but I didnt try them. Pricing was similar to the cafes in the city but not overpriced. There was seating inside and outside. The atmosphere was very welcoming and cosy. Dogs were welcomed in the outside seating area.
Best pumpkin soup I’ve ever had. Went for lunch on a sunday afternoon had to wait for a table but we walked around town and they rang us when a table was ready. The pumpkin soup was thick with black olives on top which balanced the sweetness of the soup perfectly- was amazing. My boyfriend had the pumpkin on sourdough with bacon and slaw which was also delicious. oh and the freshly squeezed orange juice was very fresh. I liked the way they paired every dish to a wine. Great experience- would high recommend.
The service was great they, the managed our expectations with the wait time upon arriving and we ended up being seated in half an hour. The staff were ver friendly and helpful. We opted to order the special of the day: brisket with black beans and sauerkraut.... which was delicious and well balanced; as well as the mushroom salad with quinoa and greens.... this was so scrumptious and filling and packed allot of flavour, not just an average salad. We ended out meal with coffee and a cake to takeaway. Aussie cafe at its best! Overall a great experience slightly out of the hustle and bustle of Main Street. There’s loads of street parking around there.
Great little cafe off the main road of berry. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was awesome.
We came here twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast. The dishes are creative and full of flavour. For breakfast, the mushrooms sourdough was nice, but both of us got undercooked poached eggs. Good coffee and service.
A very busy popular Cafe that serves delicious food and great bowls of coffee... Yes I said bowls of coffee.Tasty freshly baked bread, sour dough is sooooo good, to buy and delectable pastries and danishes all baked on the premises.Great menu that covers all diets at medium to high prices but plenty on your plate.I recommended perhaps booking a table over the busy school holidays and on weekends.Staff are friendly and attentive but not obtrusive.
Lovely and cosy. Whether its brunch or lunch you wont be disappointed. Get off the high street and go here. Staff are super friendly. You wont be disappointed.
Food was delicious. Most of the lunch options were veggies and salads and thats my only complaint. I ordered roast pumpkin on sourdough with two bacon sticks which was really good but I felt hungry after that. If they had more real lunch options in their menu I wouldve given them 5 stars.
Delicious food (my friends agreed), cozy place and great coffee. They bake their own pastry with (i assumea traditional oven. Unfortunately those beautiful pastries were swarmed by flies on the display, yet staff seemed to ignored them or didnt notice (which i doubt).Staff were friendly and helpful with my questions of ingredients my friends dietary requirements.
We always come here whenever visiting Berry, last time was on Saturday for lunch. Their coffee is great and the large is truly large, its an actual bowl of coffee. The food has never disappointed on our visits, the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced when possible. The salads are more filling than you might expect and the flavour combos enjoyable. I also like that the menu is not too large and overwhelming, just a few key dishes to choose from. Their sourdough bread and any of their baked sweets are also a treat.
Such an amazing place to be!Very friendly environment, staff where polite an very well dressed.Above all the food is fresh an tasty an you can just tell its made with love, care and respect for the ingredients
Great food. Great people. Great experience
Great service and food. Very friendly staff
Delicious food - a great place if youre driving through Berry!
The large latte was truly enormous. The coffee delicious, the pastries scrumptious.
Amazingly fresh produce, lovingly put together. Brilliant sourdough with great flavour and texture. Only negatives: no A/C and tiny bug in the salad, but food was so superb, it didnt faze us. Will be back for breakfast. A must-try in Berry.Waiter was also stellar!
Awesome food and coffee. Great for a spot of breakfast or lunch. Kids smashed their pies and sausage rolls. Our salads were lovely but a tad over dressed for my liking. Will be back on our next trip to Berry!
Really lovely place, away from the main road, which is great during the busy weekends. You can sit on the old verandah and people watch. Menu is really nice, ranging from large meals to getting a pastry from the bakery. Great sourdough to take home. Nice bathroom out the back.
Great cafe which specialises in sourdough. Few dishes and most have bread but great for brunch. Really busy during the weekend good service and hidden away location where parking is easy. Close to the centre of town as well. Take away options of loads and pastries.
Great place to go for breakfast or any other meal at a nice shop out the back and their bread is spectacular
Great little Cafe. Great service and although very busy the food came out within a reasonable time. Ingredients clearly of good wholesome quality and the espresso coffee was good (not burnt like some cafes). It was impressive how busy the Cafe is being in a regional area, so clearly has a good name attracting customers from far away. Acoustics could be better however, due to the hard surfaces making conversation a little difficult when crowded. Otherwise perfect, except for the acoustics.
Get. The. Chips. Here. (Or if youre American, get the French fries). Best fries Ive ever had. Bread and coffee are nice too 😋
Fantastic rustic style cafe offering some modern takes on traditional favourites, a great selection of pastries and savouries and delicious hot drinks. In the photos are their menu: Breakfast, Lunch Drinks and alcoholic drinks. The meals that we had lamb and pinenut sasuge roll, bolied eggs and soldiers and the local mushrooms with ricotta on sourdough with extra scrambled eggs
We had the tagliatelle and the carrot salad for lunch today. It was very refreshing and delicious. The menu seems limited but the quality of the offered ones is definitely great. There are other places in Berry offering breakfast and lunch but this is the best in my opinion. The staff was very attentive to even small details like a wobbly table and they fixed this immediately. You will see us again for sure!
Wasnt even hungry and I finished an entire plate of pasta + sourdough with cheese 😋 a must visit in Berry!!
BEST breakfast and service!!!! Savory muffin delicious!!!👌👌👌😋😋😋💚💛
Good eggs Benny, but when served was already cold. Awesome coffee, but the large coffee could have more coffee. Friendly service
Delicious food, great service, lovely decor and welcoming ambience. A really wonderful place to pass the time...
I had my breakfast here when I was on my way to Merimbula during Queens Birthday long weekend. I didnt have to wait very long for a table. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. I love the smiles on their face. I ordered smoked bacon with sourdough and egg salad with beetroots, feta, cheese, cashew nuts etc. We have to wait about 30 mins to get our breakfast. I guess its during long weekend period and get a little bit busy. Taste is OK but I think $18.50 for bacon and egg with sourdough is a bit pricy for me. I didnt get very excited about the overall taste of todays breakfast. However, I havent tried other breakfast options and guess they may be more tastier than my bacon and egg. Egg salad is also taste OK but not very much appealing to our tastebuds. Overall, recommended to try it out.
Warmy and cosy breakfast place. As soon as I entered the cafe, I felt real good morning vibes, exactly what I needed for the day. Food was great with excellent chai tea.
Enjoyed a beautiful breakfast here last weekend, it was tasty and the service was perfect
Always a lovely little place to visit. Great coffee, bread and pastries. Good for breakfast and lunch or takeaway.
Food was good, the atmosphere and decor was top notch. Dropped a star because of the weird 30min gap between 11.30 and 12 where you can only order salads..
A lovely Cafe in Berry off the main street with amazing food and coffee. Everything that I try on this menu had been really good! Last time I had the beetroot fritters and it was so tasty. Their chips are very good and the best Ive had in a long time. Coffee is great too here. The seating and the general atmosphere is great. The service can be a bit slow so not the place to go if you are in a hurry! The shop behind is really cute as well.
Beetroot fritters, avocado, carrot and yoghurt. So fresh and tasty. The macadamia tart and coffee were amazing too, maybe even the highlight. Good indoor and outdoor seating. Needed to wait 20 mins for a table during peak Sunday lunch time. High chairs and dog water bowl available. Toilet around the back.
A busy cafe, worth the wait for food! The eggs Benedict was a great choice, the ham off the bone was to die for!
Highly recommend this cafe if you’re passing through Berry. We had to wait for a seat but easily passed the time wandering the Berry shops. The chips were super delicious, as was the special lentil salad of the day. It’s also pet friendly which made it even more convenient for a large group.
Decently priced, nice food and coffee. Cant go wrong with a quick visit.
Food was great, staff were attentive and friendly - we waited for about 15 mins on sunday morning and it was definitely worth it! One thing that I loved was our tea made of tea leaves not tea bags. Also, there was good space between tables which gives you enough privacy (they are busy and can squeeze more but glad they havevnt so far!)
Didnt get a chance to try their cafe food but their croissant and escargots are so delicious!
One of our South Coast favourites. Delicious coffees, but even better food. We’ve never walked away disappointed, even with the high expectations from previous visits! Love the beer and wine selections too, always something interesting.
Weve been going to Milkwood for some time and finally made our way over to Sourdough. We ordered delicious beverages, linguini and a bruschetta with mortadella. The bruschetta didnt look that great and was hard to cut up to eat but was beyond delicious. My wife loved her linguini too. Our only complaint was ironically the sourdough and butter. It was served with the mains, cold, without enough butter and a bit too heavy even for sourdough. Our wait for food was a little too long but would not have been a problem at all if the bread was served at an appetiser.
Love this place! So quaint, lovely staff and beautiful food and coffee.
Good and healthy food, nice location and friendly service
