Berry Bros. & Rudd in Mbandaka
Description
Great shop and delicious wine
High end wine retailer. But have a limited selection of own brand wine which is very good value.
MoreLiving history. Fantastic wine and spirits shop and "museum" in one. Highly recommended!
MoreA wonderful shop with a very high quality service. We could even try one of their perspective series blends for free. Was surprised to see so much wine as I knew BBr only from whisky but their wine selection is also impressive. The whisky one is beautiful!
MoreAmmmmmmazing wine. Great service. A few things wrong along the at but I guess that’s expected. However in the last two years the Provence rose has gone up from £12-£18, and the same thing at a lesser extent has happened with other BBR wine. So I’ve gone elsewhere unfortunately. It’s a shame, loved the company, but above my budget now
MoreVisited (not for the first timeto arrange a wedding gift to be delivered. Rolls Royce service, knowledgable staff and good value. An outstanding business that moves with the times while keeping the personal touch.
MoreAs a long awaited visit for myself, cannot recommend enough for any visitor to London.Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
MoreAn establishment with such a grand pedigree of excellence needs no further commendation !!
MoreNew shop for me as I previously brought from the old shop around the corner 25yr Eldorad rum. Today brough 2 bottles of wine.
MoreIf you want good wine, come here!
Service was a dream experience! As soon as I walked in I was approached by a gentleman who stopped what he was doing to ask if I needed any help. I was just browsing, the amount of high quality own brand products they have is exceptional, having brought from them for more then a few years now. Would always recommend their own brand champagne. If you also want something a bit more special but it isnt on show, also ask at the counter as they may have what your looking for!
MoreAmazing historical wine merchant store, it is the destination for all wines and whiskies lovers. Staff, Emma, is incredibly friendly and helpful on explaining the history of Berry Bros. & Rudd. There is a scale used to weight dry goods, like coffee beans. Afterwards many members of Royal and VIP came to use it, A wooden chair was then added. It is Britains oldest wine and spirit merchant, having traded from the same shop since 1698. Today the company also has offices in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, a Wine School and an exclusive fine wine and dining venue in Londons St Jamess. They are honoured to hold two Royal Warrants for H.M. The Queen and H.R.H. The Prince of Wales. There is a retail store situated at 63 Pall Mall.
MoreGreat Introductory wine school and lunch. Good quality wine and food. Great atmosphere, very expensive though!
MoreThe oldest and one of the best wine merchants in London. A very wide range of top wines from both the Old and New World, and also excellent spirits. At the moment the fine wine section in the shop is closed but its all available online
MoreI wanted to give a big shout out to Ned who has helped me no end in placing an order that was way more complicated from my side than it should have been. Ned was helpful, accommodating and understanding, and I wanted to thank him again and publicly so that others knew how wonderful he is! Thank you Ned, and Merry Christmas :)
MoreFabulous service & a great shop! With hundreds of wines, spirits and a passion for service I would highly recommend. The wine tasting fridge is a great novelty and the whole place has a beautiful ambience. Fabulous value for money & we will definitely be back when we visit London again
MoreOne of the oldest wine shops in London, steeped in history. Wine to cater to every wallet , from 5 to 10pounds upwards
MoreOne of the best wine shops in London and one of the oldest. I bought a bottle of Chateau Margaux here and it was a treat. The service is also very good with staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Their store brand of whiskey, rum and gin are also excellent. I recommend the Barbados Rum and Elderflower gin.
MoreSplendid collection, fabulous range of wines and process; they deliver it you dont want to carry back wines to your room. Also, the store attendants are super helpful and know their wonders really well. A small, but nice collection of whisky & other alcohol as well, including some hard to find bottles. Over all, I loved this place and will definitely come back. Also.. they have several vineyards that they but frequently from that produced specially bottled versions for BBR .. those are a terrific value.
MoreApproachable and knowledgeable staff. Perfect if youd like to explore wines but are not sure where to start. The team is patient, and there was no pretention. Very good experience.
MoreLovely place to stock up good quality wine and spirits!Historic place in London. The old store is closed due to the restrictions, but may open again soon.
MoreBerry Bros have always provided our family with an impeccable service and great wines. They find rare vintages and often in large bottle sizes. Our account manager also regularly proposes smaller producers making excellent wines that match our tastes.
MoreI am sure the wine is great. Not good parking. Trying to get to RMH this morning. 😠
MoreI had heard good things about Berry Brothers and wanted to try out their service for a gift. We had an issue this bank holiday as a very special gift I had ordered did not arrive. I spoke to Michele who was wonderful and apologized about the miscommunication between warehouse and courier service. They were able to get my wine delivered a couple of days late but were very professional and communicative throughout the process. My partner received the wonderful gift and we could not be happier.
MoreCharming and packed full of history this is a must for great wines and spirits. We were lucky enough to have a small tour of the cellars and events spaces that were so unique and interesting. The range of wine in their store is vast with something for everyone and every price range. Will return
MoreExcellent for wine tastings, highly recommend for client entertainment. Only giving it a four because after an excellent dinner our client wanted to drink something besides wine, to find out that bar had closed 10’ earlier with no prior warning. Would have been the perfect evening otherwise.
MoreHad dinner in the Georgian Townhouse at one of Berrys Dining Events, and as always, it was a lovely evening with good food, wine and convivial fellow diners. The ambience is that of a sophisticated dinner party in elegant surroundings. It certainly is one of the more unusual dining experiences, and for me at least, the best value high-end dining in London.
Moreordered a bottle from them as a Christmas gift for my client. Scheduled a delivery all written and confirmed by email. I discovered the gift never arrived! If you use this company you may have the most disappointing experience of your life! their sales team dont reply easily on follow up emails and customer service promise that a manager will call you back and they dont - NEVER AGAIN!! Just branding for nothing, a complete utter joke!
MoreAttentive, knowledgable, friendly and relatable staff - this is a well known institution for wine aficionados - it is fantastic to see both very experienced and upcoming talents working on the shop floor, giving the best advice and guidance to both the most discerning patrons as well as those less in-the-know.A helpful and pleasant experience, recommended even at the busiest times of the year (especially Christmas shopping- prices very accessible for very good wines.
MoreThis wine shop is just unquestionably incredible. If you are looking for something very special or just a treat for a weekday night you wont be disappointed. The staff are always friendly and incredibly knowledgeable.
MoreIts a shame the star rating cant be higher as I was really impressed with BB&R.From the outside one could get the impression this is a pretentious place where only the well heeled would frequent, how wrong you would be.This is long established business dating back centuries, the approachable and lovely staff are very knowledgeable and willing to answer the simplest of questions while having the experience to advise the most experienced sommeliers. Its a long time since I felt so welcomed in a store without the pressure for a sale, but as this is such a fine wine shop with an amazing variety it seems a shame to visit and not to take something to quaff back at home :-)).Brilliant brilliant place :-))))
MoreI came here for a bottle of Mateus rosé (which is way below for this establishmentand left the shop two hundred quid poorer. The wines are fantastic!
MoreAn amateurish company who cannot get the basics of customer service correct. Unable to even set up a direct debit so was force to spend time each year to pay for cellaring some wines (thats not a big ask). Now forced to remove my wines (after 14 yearswithout warning as I dont hold sufficient stocks. Dreadful approach to their customers. There are much better companies out there (J&B, Wine Socwith just as extensive and wide ranging stock - use them instead.
MoreAttended the Draftmill whisky tasting. Reception, service, delivery and tasting was simply second to none.
MoreIts was a humbling experience stepping into a company that has existed for more 5 centuries. If you want to get quality wine, spirit, whiskey, champagne, Brandy etc. This is where you should go to.
MoreVery professional and efficient service. Excellent selection of wines. Perfect
Such a cool shop. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and were even able to share a bit of history about the company and where it all began. We were offered a complimentary taste of one of the rums we were interested in which was unexpected but really great. Definitely recommend and I think they can help get many great wines and other spirits.
MoreSo helpful. I went in to buy a special bottle today and they talked me through what I wanted then recommended I wait a couple of years. The options they have for buying old wines or new wines is incredible and they have a really good storage service which is reasonably priced. I left without paying a penny today but very impressed and I will definitely be back!
MoreHad the pleasure of a full tour of the shop plus wine tasting this weekend. Staff were knowledgeable and professional, wines were amazing, you can get great wines from upwards of around £8 per bottle. Highly recommend.
MoreMagnificent! Honestly, youre liable to not find a finer nor more historic store of this kind in London. The service is impeccable and the range is diverse and as satisfying as once could ever hope for.Not only this but there are excellent sales, gifts, events and more hosted by them. If you are an enthusiast make sure you visit, you wont regret it and itll change your world.
MoreNot much to say here as its one of Londons oldest wine purveyors and theyve changed with the times a great deal having an excellent selection of affordable wines in addition to the classics. Only issue is that youll have to wait often to get an order assembled as they have the main stock downstairs but theres not really a physical option to have it all up top. Very knowledgeable staff as well.
MoreWhat a fantastic history this place has and some fabulous wines too. We were given a wedding present of an evening meal with Bordeaux wines which was simply amazing. Our host Demetris Walter was a superb fountain of knowledge which never ceased to entertain us the whole night through. The meal was Michelin quality and the wines were some of the best weve ever had the pleasure to indulge in. I would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend this.
MoreWe went to the central Italian wine tasting here and had a really lovely evening. Its expensive, but you get some very good quality wines (several over £100 a bottleso you can compare for example a young Bruno with one that is several decades old. There were 12wines to try, including a mixture of white, rose, red and sweet, plus an apperatif on arrival. They provide cheese, nuts and grapes as well as two tapas sized dishes which were actually rather delicious and interesting to try with the wine. The tasting is in a nicely decorated cellar, accessed down a flight of stairs.
MoreWe attended a corporate wine tasting here and absolutely enjoyed the experience .I also returned weeks later to purchase a few bottles of wine and received decent service. They have a fantastic selection of wine to suit every budget.
MoreThe retail shop space has been relocated from St Jamess Street, about 40 paces around the corner to Pall Mall. The new place has been nicely done up - & you can still go into the old shop but they dont have stock on display anymore. The consolation is Valeria 😍
More17000 bottles of wine in their cellar. Have seen some of the most amazing wines in the world. Try to visit the private events section.
MoreWine, cheese pairing and knowledge. Very friendly, very reasonably priced. Sumptuous supper rooms downstairs for hire. Originally an emporium for tea and coffee, the shop only moved 4 months ago to pall mall but private clients can still go to the widows old shop on St. Jamess.
MoreLove your Kings Ginger! Delicious! And your shop is amazing! My girlfriend and I visited from Canada, and she loved that this is the original store from back in the 1600s. Will try to make this a stop again on our next visit to London in the future.
MoreMy wife loves sitting at the fireside with a bottle of good wine. That was the reason I visited this store. I just wanted to surprise her. Because of my total lack of information it was a very hard task. This place is full of high quality wines. The competent salesman literally became my saviour. I was impressed with his attentiveness and patient. He helped me to choose the perfect wine with intense and rich flavour. My wife loved it. Im so grateful.
MoreWonderful staff - who made excellent wine recommendations!Be sure to try the wines bottled under their own label. If you like ginger - you should pick up one of the small bottles of the Kings Ginger that they have on the counter (or at least did when I visited in June 2014). I wish I had bought a couple more of those.
