Berggasthaus Bollenwees in Appenzell

Die Rösti ist perfekt und einmalig gut, die Lage des Berggasthauses ist wunderbar und lädt zum verweilen ein - wir kommen wieder.

Prachtige wandeling vanaf de Hohenkasten (kabelbaanvia Saxen Luken naar dit mooie Berggasthaus. Hier hebben we een heerlijke portie Rösti gegeten. De lekkerste rösti die ik ooit heb gehad!

Leider hatten wir eine wirklich unfreundliche Bedienung.Wir fühlten uns nicht willkommen, eher als unerwünscht.Auf Nachfragen ob es möglich wäre Speisen auch vegan zuzubereiten, erhielten wir ebenfalls eine sehr pampige Antwort.Generell kann man diesen Ton und Umgang mit Gästen nicht wirklich als Service bezeichnen.Aber es gibt einen super coolen Trockenraum für Kleidung und Schuhe, der gerade bei diesem Wetter von großem Nutzen war.Nochmal würden wir auf Grund der Bedienung jedoch nicht kommen.

Sehr schön und modern eingerichtetes Berggasthaus. Der Hüttenwirt und sein Team sind hervorragend. Und das Röschti unvergleichlich!

Immer wieder atemberaubend schön. Tolles Essen und sehr nettes Personal und Cheffin. Es war eine Freude.

Ресторан дуже сподобався. В середньому обід 40 евро з людини, плюс напій. Дуже гарний вигляд на озеро та гори з тераси. Обслуговування відмінне. Пообідати там це одне задоволення. Рекомендую

Super Location am Fählensee - Hatten ein Zimmer mit Blick auf den See, unglaublich. Essenspreise absolut gerechtfertigt aufgrund der Lage. Personal ist sehr nett 😊👌

Super schönes Gasthaus in wunderbarer Lage, liebes Personal und saubere, schöne Zimmer.Preise wie man sie in der Schweizgewohnt ist 😅 aber es lohnt sich dennoch für eine kleine Auszeit, die sicher für immer in schöner Erinnerung bleibt.

What a beautiful location. Very nice staff, good food, clean rooms and even a hot shower! All with an incredible view. Truly amazing.

Wir haben da eine Mittagspause eingelegt . Ein kleiner See am Restaurant läd ein nach dem tollen essen kurz zu verweilen und verdauen bis es dann weiter hoch in die Berge geht. Die Servicekräfte sind trotz voller Terrasse sehr freundlich und zuvor kommend .🍀👏🌞Sehr zu empfehlen.

Allein die Aussicht ist ein Besuch wert. Waren beim Wandern zur kurzen Rast.Mit den Preisen ist es eben anders als in Deutschland, mit dem muss man aber rechnen wenn man in der Schweiz ist.

Wunderschöne Landschaft, sehr nette Bedienung, sehr feines Essen, schöne Zimmer und wunderbare Gastwirte. Besser kanns nicht sein❤👍

Wunderbares Berghotel. Das Rösti war sehr lecker ist auf jeden Fall ein Empfehlung wert. Unser Zimmer war sehr modern und schon eingerichtet mit einem wunderbaren Blick auf den See. Das Hotel ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen.

Wahnsinnig schöne Gegend, tolles Hotel mit beeindruckend freundlichem und engagiertem Service. Die Ruhe und die gemütliche Atmosphäre muss man schon gar nicht mehr erwähnen. Klare Empfehlung für einen Stopp oder eine Übernachtung auf längeren Touren.

The best place for hiking walking in silece, rare people on path because of long walk distances, no lifts avaliable, no cars, just walk and admire the nature 🚶🚶🚶😍🤩

If you are in for a great lunch break stop here. Rösti is absolutely the favorite dish of then house and should not be missed!

only deducting 1 star for the difficulty in booking and communicating while there - only 1 staff member spoke english when we got there and she was super helpful, but when we couldnt find her....meanwhile, its a wonderful place to stop for the night when you get to Fahlensee Lake. the location is fantastic, dark skies = starry nights, rosti with bacon and egg was tasty, and ask for a room overlooking the lake.the showers are common in the basement and timed, it wasnt a problem using it, toilets on every floor.

This RESTAURANT has a breathtaking view to the falen see, it also serves as point to another amazing place, the saxer luke, me and a friend went to this restaurant for lunch and we got served some very tasty food!

Very nice place. We stayed 1 night and enjoyed our stay. The food is really good.It is pretty expensive and they where not too happy to take visa card payment.

Very nice place to east some traditional swiss food. Not many options for vegetarian but you can get a very tasty Röstli. Staff is also friendly and views of Fälensee are fantastic

If you are looking to discover a great restaurant to rest and eat after a long walk, this is the one you need to take. Very friendly people.

Nice friendly people, very nice food and a place to rest after a long hike. I had a 10 person dorm to myself but it was very cheap and included a decent breakfast. It is however very basic and stone cold up on the top floor. Shoes are left in a special room in the basement, and you wear house shoes. Bathrooms are clean.The lake is amazing. And don’t miss Saxer Lücke which is 30 min hike up from the hostel.

Just a nice place to get a rest a drink and some food. They offer a variety of local drinks and good food ! The view is just amazingly beautiful and there are when the weather is nice a lot of people.The hike up there will take you around 45 minutes and down it goes a lot faster.

Beautiful spot by the lake. We stopped here for refreshments (haha yes beer!while hiking in the mountains. The staff were super friendly and it would be a great place to stay. Their homemade iced tea was also super good! You will need cash here

Berggasthaus Bollenwees is located near a very nice lake. The hostel is renovated, rooms are simple and small, breakfast is nice. I did not have enough cash (my faulttherefore I wanted to pay by my Mastercard (normal debit card), which they did not want to accept, and they insisted on accepting only an EC Card. After explaining that I do not have my EC card at me they allowed me to pay by my card while eye-rolling. It felt very unfriendly and rude. I was able to pay by this card all over the world, even in central Africa in the middle of desert and starving people all over the place. If you are so cheap that you are not able to pay a small debit card fee then let it pay the customer.

Amazing place with an unbelievable view of the lake ans mountains! It is a perfect spot to have a drink and rest while hiking. It also has a lot of potential as a holiday spot, meaning you can book a room for someone as a present. I havent spent the night there, we just had drinks, but considering a booking room for my father in law as a birthday present. Considering its Switzerland and it its AMAZING location, it is really not expensive. Reccomending it to everyone and definitely will be visiting it again in the future with my boyfriend!

Bollenwees is located at the most wonderful lake in the Apps I know, the Fälensee. From the terrace you have a great view towards the lake and the Alpstein mountains. It is only reachable by a ca. 2 hours like from Brülisau.

Beautiful place in the mountains at a picturesque lake. However, owners of the hut and service personnel very unfriendly. Foreigners dont feel welcome.
