Wonderful place which shows life of Bendraiji

Feels great visiting Da Ra Bendre house, his story told pictorially within the Bendre Bhavan. His house is next to the building which is still lived by their family members.Govt should take photocopy of all the awards received and display in the Bhavan, we all would love to see them and celebrate their success and feel proud.Also there can be a book shop which can sell all their books.Still the little effort can be appreciated.Feels wonderful seeing Bendre Ajja photos.

Bendre Bhavan located opposite to Sadhankeri Lake is 3 Kms from Dharwad city centre - Jubliee Circle. This Memorial houses a photo gallery, poetry and several prestigious awards of the legendry poet D.R. Bendre in the first floor of its building and auditorium in the ground floor. Kannada and Culture Department, GoK has done a wonderful job in keeping this place to what it is under its authority and maintenance.

ಬೇಂದ್ರೆ ಭವನ: It is located in sadhanakeri, dharwad. It is located just right next to the Da.Ra. Bendres house. Big hall is there. This museum has photos of Bendres major occasions, most notably the Jnanapeeth award. Bendres B.A , M.A certificates are there. Padmashri award certificate is in this museum. Nice place in Dharwad.Dattātreya Rāmachandra Bēndre (31 January 1896 – 26 October 1981), popularly known as Da Rā Bēndre, is generally considered the greatest Kannada lyric poet of the 20th century[1][2][3] and one of the greatest poets in the history of Kannada literature.[1] A pioneering poet of Kannadas Navōdaya movement and a leading figure in the linguistic renaissance of Kannada in the region of North Karnataka (then part of the Bombay presidency), Bendre forged a new path in Kannada literature and modern Kannada poetry through his original use of desi Kannada, particularly Dharwad Kannada – the form of Kannada spoken in the North Karnataka region of Dharwad.

Loved the serene and peaceful museum and the area around it. The house itself was closed due to covid restrictions but the museum already takes you Bendre time beautifully.

The Bendre bhavan is a good place for people interested in reading books, but the bhavan needs to show some of his clippings or a video of Bendre should be made n shown for the visitors...

It is well Source for literature lovers. Which have Museum of Bendres Photos, his album songs, and some memorial moments are kept for exhibition. So every Kannadiga msut visit this Holly place of literature. Infornt of which Sadhankeri Lake Park is seen to visit.

Bendre bhavan is a place where Dattatreya bendre were lived. here we can see all of his achievements also the accessories used. He is a Gynapeeta and Kendra sahitya academy awardee.He was awarded Gyanpeet for his book "Naku tanti" ( Four strings)A great place to visit for all proud kannadigas and Indians.

Worth visiting place for those who are fond of Kannada literature especially poetry.

Entrance fee Rs. 5 and a museum. Must visit if you are kannada sahitya abhimani. Dr. Bendre is awarded with Jnanapeetha and renowned poet of Karnataka. Visit this place and contribute for development of museum. His family members are still living in this place. It gives immense feeling when we visit this place. Especially when we see his home and library such was his vision and knowledge for Kannada literature. Respect and miss forever. Please do visit and let us show our respect to Shri Bendre.

Good is that all photos and awards are kept for show here. But there is no bendre books to read or to buy. Only some other authors wrote books are here.

A little building dedicated to the life and times of D. R. Bendre. On the ground floor is a descent assembly hall for programs and events. The entrance has a book store where you may publish the works of Bendre. The museum is very traditional. Some effort can be made to make it more interactive and lively. All in all it is a memorial dedicated to the great man.
