Benburb Castle - Historical place in Omagh, United Kingdom
Beautiful historic castle overlooking the River Blackwater.
Luogo lasciato allo sbando senza PULIZIA e servizi sanitari inesistenti senza responsabili allentrata della struttura
Located within the grounds of Benburb Priory. There is no access into the castle grounds but the nearby Blackwater river walks are excellent.
Many good memories here

Castle inaccessible, but there is nice walk around
Beautiful Benburb and The Blackwater river, steeped in Irish history and stronghold of the ONeill Clann. Fantastic nature walk along a prime salmon and trout river.
We are lough neagh rescue and would use Benburb river for our swift water training crew for our crew to keep them up to date with training and Benburb River is the best river for us to train in💪
We drove to Benburb but didnt know how to get to the Castle, wasnt well signposted for non locals. We asked a couple of different locals but they were not forthcoming, they maybe are fed up get asked all the time if no signposting.

Great little walk
Lovely place to call while on your visit to northern Ireland lovely setting in a quiet little village.
Not always open. But beautiful grounds to walk around and a great cafe close by.
Lovely riverside walks - strong shoes needed!
Nice walk needs a bit of a tidy up
Beautiful scenery all around the area of the castle grounds, with blackwater river running down behind the castle. The castle itself is rich in Irish history and was built in the early 15th century. Its has deep drops around the castle grounds so be careful. There is a graveyard just outside the old and impressive walls with monks buried there and an old, tiny stone built worship building with a bee keep within its fence, so be careful of the bees too. Beautiful spot.
Its a pretty small castle and wont take you long to go around it. There were people in period costume when we visited which really added to the experience.
Grate walks
Lots of walks but big no dogs signs everywhere.
A nice peaceful place, lovely walk around the grounds and interesting history about castle and priory.
Lovely walks
The castle sits overlooking a steep valley, carved out by the Blackwater River. 100 acres of forest border the river and are open to the public for walking
Tranquil, village life is so laid back. Very friendly and welcoming. My wee get away.
A beautiful place to go.
A magical place in an area of outstanding beauty
