10 Belle Isle Demesne, Lisbellaw, Enniskillen BT94 5HG, Omagh
Lavish quarters in a 17th-century country house on a 470-acre estate spread over 8 islands.
As always, Belle Isle is a wonderfully relaxing place to visit. This time of year the Autumn colours in the leaves are just a joy.
Great accommodation - a bit out of the way although found a restaurant close by as we were leaving! Would be lovely to bring all food and just park up for a few days with friends. BBQ available and grounds magnificent.
Thank you to all the team at Belle Isle who made our stay wonderful in Bridge cottage. Clean, warm and with views to die for. Lovey walks around the estate and absolute peace and quiet. I can’t believe we’ve left it almost 8 yrs since our last visit.
Great break. Perfect surrounds and a comfortable place to relax. Thanks
We went to a 4 bedroomed courtyard cottage in Belle Isle last week. John Cherry and Emma were so kind and helpful on every aspect of our stay. The cottage was terrific with endless fuel for the fire, plenty of central heating and hot water, comfy beds and a terrific atmosphere. Reasonably priced and they even allowed me to charge my EV at the reception area overnight. I could not recommend this heavenly place more highly. So much to see and do around and Reg our terrier also loved his stay
Stayed for a wonderful weekend in the self catering cottages. Very peaceful and private.
We had a lovely 2 night stay - myself, my 3 year old son, my mother and our 1 year old cockapoo !We had a brilliant time, the location and grounds are beautiful. Gardens so well kept.Lots of areas to walk, explore, play and exercise doggie.Belle Isle was quiet and peaceful which suited us well for the trip ! If anything our energetic pup and chatty 3 year old may have disturbed the peace at times. Everyone was friendly, kind and helpful. The only downfall is the lack of the bistro. Somewhere to grab a coffee and bite to eat would have made the trip without fault. The house was clean, tidy and spacious. Kitchen well stocked with all the equipment you would need. My suggestions to improve would be additional basics like a tea/coffee tray for after the journey down and before you get to the shops. Other than that it was exactly as expected for self catering.Such a peaceful setting for the evenings and we didnt spend much time in the living room as we were tired after spending the days out and about. If I was returning for a cosy autumn/winter stay I would love to see more comfortable seating for an evening by the fire.Thank you to Belle Isle.
We had our wedding over the course of a weekend at belle isle estate. The estate is beautiful and the house and the cottage accommodation are perfect and very clean. Cherry, who is the manager is so helpful and extremely easy to work with. Would highly recommend for a special occasion or just a trip away!
Excellent all round experience at Belle Isle. Reception staff Cherry & Emma were super efficient and professional.
We hired the castle and one of the courtyard cottages for our wedding and an anniversary party. Couldn’t recommend it more highly, everyone had an absolutely amazing time. Emma was fantastic, from the planning stage through to helping on the big day. The recommended suppliers couldn’t have been better either which makes a world of difference. The whole thing was stress free and the activities were thoroughly enjoyed by all, with ages ranging from 1-80. Will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends looking for a place to hold an event somewhere special.
We attended Belle Isle Estate as part of a three day wedding. It is a quaint, beautiful property that was the perfect place to celebrate with friends and family. The entire staff were a pleasure to deal with and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and that things were just right. Cherrys presence and dedication in particular really helped make the event special.
We stayed in Oak no. 3 which was spacious and airy, very clean and well equipped. It was quiet and we enjoyed walks around the estate. It is a shame that there aren’t more places to eat nearby, most seem to close early in the week. Staff were very good and knowledgeable.
We stayed here with our family for 3 nights. Beautiful, clean well equipped accommodation in a stunning setting. Our little granddaughter loved the climbing frame and visiting the nearby cows and donkeys! We found the staff friendly and helpful. We would recommend this place and hope to return.
We really loved the cottage and it’s situation. Lovely walk up to and around the house.Convenient to Carrybridge pub and restaurant and just 15mins to Enniskillen.Just sorry the Bistro is no longer operating as we used it regularly on previous visits.
13 of us stayed for 5 nights in cottages Sycamore and Rowan and had a great time! Very friendly and efficient staff. Accommodation was bigger and better than expected and very clean and tidy. Kitchen was very well equipped, though as it is self catering, a fridge freezer wouldve been useful to store our food. The laundry was a good addition. Great wee park and football area for the kids, (which they loved), with seating and a fire pit for the adults. There were a few small maintenance issues which we mentioned to staff, and the wi-fi wasnt great, though Ive seen on other reviews that this is to be addressed. An upgrade on the showers would be good too, with maybe more than one in a 3-bed cottage sleeping 6, the main bathroom in Sycamore just had a bath with a mixer shower head which wasnt really up to the job, the one in Rowan was much better. Despite the few minor issues, we had a lovely time and we would thoroughly recommend Belle Isle Castle as a great place for families to stay.
Lovely relaxing place with great accommodation stayed in one of the cottages which was spacious, well equipped and very peaceful, also great that it was dog friendly. Only down side was the bistro wasn’t open so no where on site to get food and they could do with some dog waste bins around the place. But we had a great stay and will be back here again
Beautiful property! Great place to relax, hold an event such as a wedding or family reunion, or explore Ireland! Loved visiting the castle and staying in a huge and comfortable 3-BR courtyard apartment with kitchen and living room. The kids adored the playground, fire pit outside, and visiting the donkeys. Staff is over the top fantastic.
A very peaceful and pleasant stay in Coach House 2. Belle Isle is situated in a fairly remote setting and whilst there are plenty of restaurants/pubs in the area few are close by. A car is therefore essential. The grounds are splendid and well tended (my Springer Spaniel was in seventh heaven), well done to the gardeners. The accommodation is ample, clean and well furnished. A gentle week away - who can object to that?
We spent a week in Bridge House. We found the house very cold. The weather wasn’t good for time of year but heat was set as if it was warm and sunny. No wifi at all, had to use 4G on phone whole time. Phone reception awful so when we tried to contact manager about the heat the phone kept breaking up. It was 2 days before we were able to speak to a member of staff who Explained that the heating timer and boiler were in a locked outbuilding and how to change the heat settings. Details would have been better to be in the folder left inside the property for new guests arriving. The house needs updating, comfortable furniture would be a start because the cane furniture is very worn so no comfortable position for sitting watching TV, cushions are so worn. Just hard wooden chairs In dining room. The two walks advertised as great for dog walking were inaccessible as far too wet. They are around the edge of fields so there wasn’t a lot we could do to exercise two dogs. Had to travel each day to more suitable parks and forests. I wouldn’t recommend here. Far too expensive for what you actually get.
We had an extended family reunion in the Castle itself (with a few guests in the converted stablesand maybe we were lucky with the weather, but it was utterly idyllic. A stately home in lush grounds with gorgeous views of the local lakes, its as exquisite on the inside as it is on the outside. Every room is stunning. One caveat though: it calls itself a hotel, but its effectively a self-catering castle, and the only key they give you is the one to the front door. The bathrooms are amazing, yes, and there are linens and robes provided of course, but theres no coffee machines in the rooms, or bar, or concierge, any of the stuff youd associate with a hotel. If you want a cup of tea, you go to the kitchen and make one - and sit down for a chat with all the other members of your party doing the same. if you are having a wedding there - and I can think of no finer venue - youll have caterers, of course, which will help. The local servers arranged by the hotel staff are excellent, as is the food sourced locally (even if the salads are a bit heavy on the carbs.). Also, unsurprisingly, comms can be a bit ropey - dont count on high speed internet or even consistent cell coverage. The staff are lovely and eager to help - though they can be hard to contact at weekends. If she makes an appearance, dont mistake the Lady of the house for a member of staff, like we did...!
If you are looking for a wedding venue, you can stop looking. This is the right place. We rented the castle and some cottages for a week for our wedding, and it could not have been better! It was literally the perfect week.We first booked the castle, sight unseen, in 2018 for our wedding April 18, 2020. Then three weeks beforehand, the borders closed and everything went into lockdown. I read so many horror stories of people who lost all their deposits, but Belle Isle was so accommodating and understanding about everything. We ended up having to postpone twice before we settled on our final date: April 28, 2022. But when we got to the estate, even though no one wants to postpone their wedding mere weeks before it takes place, it was all worth the hassle and the wait.I dont have enough superlatives to commend the staff here. Cherry, who was our point person and day-of wedding coordinator, is just the best. I cant recommend her enough. She made everything run smoothly for us, and given that we had to plan everything from the United States, that assistance was invaluable. Shes so sweet and thoughtful and makes everything much more manageable. I really dont know what we would have done without her. I didnt get to spend as much time working with Emma, but the time I did get to meet her, she was also incredibly sweet and thoughtful - in fact, she made a reel for Instagram and shared it with me since I was too busy on the day to look myself. The site itself is absolutely gorgeous. The photos online really dont do it justice. Im not sure there is a good way for photos to capture the elegance of the rooms or the natural beauty of the estate. In fact, we are going to be in the UK for another wedding next summer, and my husband and I are planning to come back to Belle Isle afterward for at least a few days because we loved the island and the people so much.Because I live in Los Angeles and my and my husbands families live in Florida, Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Oregon, the UK, and Washington DC, it was going to be a destination wedding for most of the guests no matter what we did. And honestly, at Belle Isle Estate, the value you get for the price you pay is extraordinary. My guests didnt have to pay much more to attend than theyd have had to for coming to a Southern California wedding, and most of the increased amount was in airfare, not accommodations. As for the cost for us, the bride and groom, the venue fee was less than a typical venue in SoCal, and because all the vendors were less expensive as well, we ended up spending significantly less than the average cost of a wedding here in the States.All-in-all, it was the best week of my life, and much of that is thanks to the lovely people, rooms, and landscape at Belle Isle.
It is a beautiful place. The court yard made it easy to socialise, it was reasonably close to the river for swimming and paddle boarding and there was bbqs for us to use.The various apartments were clean, spacious and very pleasant. If I had any suggestions it would have been good to some condiments, olive oil etc. . . in the kitchens.Still a wondrtful place for my whole family to relax, catch up and enjoy ourselves and would recommend here to anyone.
Fabulous stay. CY2 Beech is very spacious & clean. You could fit 6 people (if allowed). Highly recommend for a family with kids, loved the play area being close & loved walking the dog along the trails. I would recommend a map inside the apt. to define the dog walks. A communal seating & BBQ area to enjoy the sunshine all day would make it v sociable. Please reopen the bistro or some form of sit down lunch/ dinner we would have loved to have had that experience.Google maps was best for the boat hire navigation. For off-peak season on the boat there’s not many restaurants along the river open outside of Fri-Sun (even though it was Easter). We found Carrybridge Hotel did good pub grub.I enjoyed meeting the Curly Pigs and learning about their important conservation work - perhaps a member of staff could do a free guided tour, to learn about all the animals.Handy location for Nat. Trust, Mable arch caves and Donegal. We’ll be back to explore. :-)
Rarely do we return somewhere three times- so that says it all! Immaculately clean accommodation and dog friendly too. The staff are so very friendly, well informed and helpful. This is an excellent location to explore the Fermanagh area and the setting is beautiful.
My husband & I have just returned from a three night stay at Belle Isle Castle we had the best time . We stayed in the Oak cottage along with our wee dog Rocco , the accommodation was very well equipped with just about everything you need. We especially loved the log burning stove it was so cosy in the chilly evenings . It is a perfect stay for pets & had lots of great walks around the estate although a bit muddy (bring welly boots The location is stunning with beautiful countryside & lovely views & is about 20 minutes drive from Enniskillen town . We will definitely be returning to this fantastic accommodation 👍🏻😁
We had a wonderful 2 night stay in the Abercorn Wing of the Castle at Belle Isle to celebrate a special birthday. There were 8 adults in our family gathering with 3 small children.Everything was perfect - Warm, clean, lots of space and great kitchen facilities. We were able to dine at the large table in the library and relax in the drawing room with beautiful views of Lough Erne from all the rooms. The Abercorn wing was beautifully furnished with every comfort at our disposal including an ample supply of firewood for the large open fires. All five bedrooms had spacious en-suite facilities and the beds were extremely comfortable. We sincerely hope we will be able to make a return visit in the near future.
Lovely hidden place we found on the edge of Enniskillen Co. Fermanagh.Long or short walks. We brought our wellies and needed them to see the pigs.Staff friendly and very efficient.Only disadvantage WiFi poor hubby has a defibrillator fitted and should have WiFi to send messages to hospital. Dog friendly and they enjoyed the walks.Hope to rebook again.
Lovely, clean, fully equipped cottage with a cozy fireplace set in beautiful surroundings. We had a fantastic few days here. Check in & out couldnt have been smoother (and the nearby pigs were lovely too!)
Lovely break in a quite a peaceful location. Staff were responsive to our requests and the local area was full of interesting places to visit. The accomodation was top class and very clean. Lovely log burning stove, full kitchen and super shower room.Bring your own toiletries,!
The cottage was very well equipped, fresh, clean and very cosy.Great we could have our dog with us. The walks are very limited and muddy but a good base for exploring the general area. Would definitely go back.
Beautiful dog friendly cottages in beautiful countryside, the cottages are very spacious, well presented and spotless they have everything you could possibly need for a brilliant stay and so cosy with a big log burner and as we stayed in new year there was a Christmas tree 🙂 have recommended and will stay again. PERFECT
Lovely location , we stayed in #3 the courtyard it was like walking into Dr Whos tardis , so big and spacious, log burner , kitchen and a very spacious lounge area complete with dinner table and chairs Upstairs a great bathroom with a very spacious shower the bedroom was massive with a king size bed 3 windows with blackout blinds . Lovely walks if you bring your pet , we brought our collie Flynn , the walks are mostly on hardcore but the woodland walks were a bit muddy and could do with a bit more signage . All in all lovely staff lovely quiet relaxing location we will definitely return .
My wife and I stayed for one night with our dog.Positives : Cottages where nice, warm and clean. Nice log burners with unlimited logs :)Comfy bed and great views for dogs from low level window in bedroom.Lovely surroundings and views of lakes.Castle itself was lovely, could walk around it which was nice.Negatives : the two walking routes we were given where unwalkable, we had to turn back on both of them due to the poor ground conditions, Appreciate the weather was wet but no form of stones or anything on ground just pure gutters.Fridge wasn’t working correctly either, it froze everything we put into it so had frozen milk and sausages for breakfast. No Wi-Fi and the 3G reception was poor. There was no tea bags or sugar supplied in our cottage which we thought would have been a nice tough for people when they arrive, we would have expected a bit more for the £200 per night price.Enjoyed our stay overall, would give it another try in the summer.
Stayed at Cathcart Lodge for a weekend. Top class. Slept really well on comfortable beds. Murphy our golden retriever loved the cottage too. Great views from the front bedroom. Kitchen had everything you needed.
Lovely cottage gorgeous location. Only gripe we had was thar there is no actual sign where the cottages are to show you where the walks start. There is a map at reception but it was so unclear unclear we ended up going up farmers Lane way. We eventually found an arrow next morning by accident. It would be really helpful to put an actual sign in the courtyard pointing towards the starting point. There was noone at reception on the Saturday to ask. But when we did locate the walk the forest and the pigs were lovely!
This is a hidden gem. Lovely quiet place if your looking to relax. Even our dog Lara enjoyed the peace and quiet and loved the attention she received from the receptionist who offered to keep her in the office with her lol. Some nice walks nearby to suit everyone. Staff are really friendly and helpful.
Belle Isle is a special place. My friend and I stayed in one of the cottages for a weekend organic vegetable growing weekend. The cottage we stayed in was beautifully fitted out, some lovely old prints and antique furniture mixed with all mod cons. Everything was perfect.
Phenomenal surroundings - stay to escape the bustle of modern life and escape for a few days of nature.Returned after our wedding a few months back. Tatiana and Nicholas (Lord and Lady Hamiltonhave a real gem in Belle Isle. Stay and self cater or visit and sample what the local area has to offer. Belle isle also offer cookery schools, residential gardening courses and forgaging. We will be returning for many years to come.Thank you to Lord and Lady Hamilton and the wonderful staff at Belle Isle.
We rented the house and some of the courtyard for our 50th birthday celebration and it was magical from start to finish. The house and surroundings are stunning. The staff were extremely helpful and the catering far exceeded our expectations. Thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable experience!
Belle isle cottages were very tidy, clean and calming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the island was lovely and peaceful to walk around. Fishing was fantastic at the bridge with roach, perch Hybrids and pike We loved it here and would recommend.
Enchanting, beautiful, magical..my family and I spent a week here and loved it! Fantastic walks all around the island, even at night..the castle and the cottages lit up..the silence..accommodation had everything we needed and more..staff were more than welcoming, especially Doreen. Kids had the best time! We were all sad to leave. Highly recommend.
Absolutely beautiful island and lives up to it’s name. My family and I stayed in 4 cottages in the courtyard for 1 week. The cottages are spacious and very comfortable. The island is very peaceful and relaxing, it’s a escape from the everyday stresses of life.I would like to thank Emma, Cherry, the gardeners ( father and sonand of course lovely Doreen. We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely be back.
Peaceful and quiet courtyard holiday apartment. Excellent condition and high standard of finish. Furniture (wickergot a bit uncomfortable after a while. Suggest a proper sofa, but not a deal breaker.Staff excellent & courteousWell located and Enniskillen was easy to get to.Only other observation I would have, better recycling of rubbish.
Just returned home from an amazing weekend for my dads 60th Birthday at Belle Isle. From start to finish staff at Belle Isle went above and beyond to get everything absolutely perfect for us.Cherry & Kate were extremely helpful in the run up and very welcoming on arrival. Nothing was too much for them and they arranged everything perfectly including additional activities like Archery, a Bouncy Castle & a Projector.Doreen & housekeeping staff on arrival, for which we were very early was very accommodating and the house was immaculately clean. We had Belle Isle caterers for dinner and afternoon tea. Our dinner was nothing short of incredible, food was among one of the best meals I’ve ever had with our guests all saying the same. Afternoon tea was equally good and presented beautifully. The waiting team were friendly but very efficient and went out of their way to make sure guests were well looked after, special thank you to Anita, Kate and John on the waiting / catering team.We hired the Hamilton Wing, the interior design is beautiful and every room is different. Bathrooms have Penhaligon toiletries and large baths and/ or showers for each room.Highly recommend Belle Isle, so grateful for such amazing memories made here. Can’t wait to come back
We’ve visited several times now…in apartments and in the cottage. Beautifully clean, everything you need for kitchen & bathrooms, WiFi, etc.Love the estate and surrounding…great walks, play park, buzzards, pigs, donkeys to feed, deer, squirrels to watch, all within a short walk.Enniskillen is only a short drive away as are Marble Arch caves and at least three National Trust houses and gardens.Love, love , love the peace and quiet

We had a wonderful stay at the gloriously situated Belleisle Estate. So much to see and do and a very safe environment for children of all ages. Being able to barbecue on our doorstep was very relaxing. We will be back, hopefully, and trust that the Bistro will be open next time.
Belle Isle ..beautiful as always. Been visiting since 2012 for many family milestones, sons wedding which was wonderfully hosted by Andrea, my father’s 80th birthday and now with with our grandchildren. Stayed in Coach 2 for two nights, very comfortable although much smaller than Beech where my son and his family were staying. Very clean as always but two disappointments…there were no toiletries in the one bathroom other than a small disc of soap. No pump dispensed soap or shampoo for the bath or shower. I would not call to disturb Andrea for this and it was the first time I didn’t pack my own…I managed and my granddaughter bathed at Beech. Other thing of note was that the roasting dish has handles and will not fit in the oven!!Our weather was lovely and the children were delighted to play in the new adventure park and to visit our old friends donkeys Ollie and Cosmo. Belle Isle is like home to us and we thank Andrea and her staff for all their hard work.
The accommodation and location were perfect, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. It was great to be able to have our meals outdoors, and to have the use of a couple of BBQs. The "football pitch" for the grandchildren was a real bonus, and the walks round the grounds were delightful. We never quite got to grips with the Bistro though. They wanted 72 hours notice for our menu choices (which seemed somewhat excessive), they were full on Saturday and Sunday but closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we never got to eat there.
A fantastic weekend. Accommodation was great we stayed in Bridge House amazing views and spacious. Four of us and our dog and still plenty of room. The Bistro was excellent and the food wonderful. Staff were very helpful and always cheerful. The whole place was open and unspoilt with no crowds. Well definitely go back.
