New American locavore eats & martinis in an 1800s mansion, plus a scenic patio & rumored ghosts.
Great atmosphere, cocktails, service and foodSat at the bar. Ordered cocktail and appetizer.
Service was great!!! The menu had a very nice selections. We enjoyed their October fest menu. The food was really good!!! Love the atmosphere, old mansion with many rooms that they serve in. Each room makes it feel like a different experience than the last time. If youre on the fence about going, just go!!!
My husband and I ate dinner here last night and had a wonderful experience! We were seated right away, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. We narrowed down our entree choices and asked for our waitress recommendation; she suggested the red snapper and it was delicious. We also really enjoyed the cabernet she suggested. Our food came out very hot and was delicious. We highly recommend!!
Ok so its good. I wouldnt recommend nor would I wouldnt. Its not like smack your mama good. I got the Penne and Vodka and it was good, average. Hubby got surf and turf. The Filet Mignon was yummy and tender. The Lobster was good too! Potatoes that came with it some were raw 😳. Spinach was good. Overall good, but I wont be back.
Beautiful histrical victorian atmesphere...We had the Bell wedge salad to start, beef wellington, pork ossobucco and rack of lamb for dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection!desert was creme Brule delious! Our waitress was very attentive to our needs...moderately priced and limited menue so make sure u check out the menue before you go. Reservation is a must...or you will wait a while...Will definitely go back again!
This is a great place for an intimate dinner for couples or groups. The service was great and the food was good. We were also offered complimentary bourbon shots.
I’ve been here a few times and the food always tastes fresh. There is also a nice drink selection. The only thing I would comment on is that there are too many flies outside and they are quite annoying . Other than I don’t have any complaints.
We arrived early, so we went to the bar for a cocktail and an appetizer. The bartenders were both very attentive, friendly, an very good at what they do.We enjoyed the house smoked kielbasa at the bar. When our other two guests arrived, the hostess took us to our table. Great room. Nice ambience. I am not a fan of perusing a menu on my smart phone, but there was no other option offered. The waiter took our drink order, returned with them, and took our dinner order. He was not very attentive, he either had to many tables or needs better training. The food was all prepared well and presented nicely. With better service, it would have been a five-star experience .
Terrible food and even worse service. Took my parents here for lunch and food was so disappointing, my meal was actually inedible. Server was extremely inattentive, despite the fact that we were the only customers in the place. Had to go in search of more drinks. Server was sitting in the bar chatting to 3 other female servers and seemed annoyed we were interrupting his conversation. Loud punk music blasting throughout the patio which server said could not be turned off. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants but it has really gone downhill recently. Complained to the manager and she took the cost of my meal off the bill, however she was very unfriendly and did not seem to be interested in hearing our complaints about the lack of service. We will not go back.
Relaxing patio vibe with good food
First of all, place seems very cozy and welcoming. Tables are uneven making glasses tip over. I ordered a French onion soup which really reminded me of a sauerkraut soup. I did not taste onion at all. House kielbasa with sauerkraut tasted weird as that sauerkraut tasted more like a sweet-kraut. Pancakes were delicious though.
What an amazing place. Date night with my husband, pomegranate martini was just perfect, rack of lamb and stake on the stone are a must, cooked to perfection. Outdoor seating g was just a cherry on top!!!
Our son took us there for lunch and what a surprise. The ambience of the location was warm and inviting plus the food and service were great. Will be back again.
Went to Bell’s Mansion on a recommendation from my sister. Glad we did, they checked all the boxes that I appreciate in a restaurant;* uniqueness regarding atmosphere* service* great food you can’t find anywhere else* cleanliness (both dinning areas & bathrooms)We had some great dishes, seafood stew, shrimp & lobster, chicken Josephine, and ossobuco. We had a pear salad & wedge salad for appetizers. Bread is served with the meal, and it happens to be the most awesome bread we’ve had in years! It’s made on premises and it’s the bomb! At the end of the meal they provide a complimentary cherry liquor 😎. Excellent experience all the way around!
First time going to Bells Mansion last night August 1 2022. What a great place, the outside patio is very nice, great atmosphere and service. The food and drinks were excellent. Great menu great place, must try, almost forgot to mention are server Lindsey, she was amazing, Definitely one of my new favorites.
Everyone loved their fixed price lunch. The gluten free options were just gf pasta with sauce. Not worth the cost.
Outdoor dining tent was very nice..big and airy! Food is always good...service was great!
Food was absolutely delicious and service was spot on. Love the history and character of the building too!
Store bought calamari with maple syrup drizzle has me in teetering between getting sick and trying to keep it down. Cesar salad had crunched up in the mix leaving me without the option to remove.
Lovely atmosphere but ultimately a disappointing experience. Went in for a relatively quick bite, wings and a drink, but was served dry wings with a long hair fried right onto the drumstick.Seems nice for groups, but be wary of service.
Wow - incredibly great place to have a leisurely meal. The food was amazing! We sat out on the patio - there are multiple levels to the patio, several areas all nestled in among the gardens. There could be 5 or 6 large groups outside and you wouldnt be bothered by their activity or noise. Outdoor bar is popular with locals I believe, if all the visiting and laughter mean anything. We had a lovely time and learned about the area from our waitress who was sweet and friendly. Great service, attentive and yet laid back, we never felt rushed. A must experience meal if you are in the area.
Their appetizers are good, entrees are mediocre. Nice outdoor dining area and bar, and indoor bar is beautiful.
Okay let me start off that this review is not about the front staff it is about the food and the ones who make it.If you enjoy a place that has very little seasoning to their dishes then this place is for you.If you think a satay is not to be served on a skewer like traditionally then this place is for you.If you like a very gummy steak that is served warm then this place is for you.I was very disappointed in my food. The only thing I enjoyed was fried chicken wings but even those lacked flavor. I don’t know who is cooking back there but I was begging for something to have flavor or seasoning. I came here for my birthday and even though I was treated I am still sad that someone had to pay for the lack of quality we received. My waitress was lovely but everything else was a let down. This place prides itself on its historical back ground but can’t provide in person menus to its senior patrons either?! That is crazy to me.Even my drink, lemonade was lacking flavor and watered down. This is only a good restaurant for people who think black pepper is spicy. So disappointed will not be going here again nor recommending it to anyone.
Just had a bridal shower for my daughter and the food is amazing. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place!
The food was great and our server was wonderful. The homemade bread was out of this world!
Weve been going here for years. Great drinks great atmosphere. The last time we went dinner wasnt very good. My osso bucco was mostly gelatinous fat. Very gross. Will try again because usually its great.
Once Again.... Outstanding.Quaint & comfortable atmosphere. The food is excellent, recipes have their "Bells Touch". Their service is always friendly and professional. But ask for Hailey, shes a cut above the BM norm.
Went to a baby shower there. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Definitely going back there for dinner in the near future.
cold beer, good wings tacos and sweet bartenders that were pleasant and fun to talk with. a few TVs at the bar. Would definitely go again. The menu was great and vast.
I really love this place. Nice people. Great food. I did have one complaint. The scallops came breaded which made them soggy and the breading fell off. The menu did not say they were breaded. Might want to revisit that option. Thank you
Love this place! Service is AWESOME! Bartenders are sociable and attentive! And the martinis are to DIE FOR!
Dined here as a guest of a friend for the first time. We started with a couple of good craft beers: an IPA and a porter, both very good. Appetizers: guacamole, which was outstanding and the kilbasa and sauerkraut, lean and excellent. We each had fish, red snapper and salmon, both well prepared. Service was very attentive and professional. We dined at 5pm and by the time we left every seat in the restaurant was occupied. Definitely make reservations. Ample parking. Met the owner; very hospitable Will certainly dine here again.
I ordered the Mansion Burger and it was phenomenal! The bun used was made on premises, toasted just right. The patty was large and drenched in delicious cheese (I chose swiss). The fries were large, hand cut and cooked to a perfect crispness. Oh, and do not forget the delicious pickle chips on the side. Extra crunchy!I would definitely recommend!!
Had a wonderful late lunch in a Saturday recently. It was a birthday celebration. The service was excellent. The food delicious and well.prepared.I removed 1 star because for the price you pay the portions should be bigger.Lunch for 4 (with cocktailsover $300 (including tip). For that price I felt we should have better sized portions or something to make it stand out a bit more.
Had a belated birthday lunch with my wife today. Right from the start we knew it was going to be great. Our server Anastasia was perfection. She was attentive, charming, knowledgable... We decided on the Pretzel with Spinach dip for an app. Excellent... Saved half for home. Went with the Mansion burgers mid rare with grilled mushrooms and onions were thick, juicy and perfectly cooked. The topper, Anastasia brought out our ordered dessert with a candle and Happy Belated Birthday. Thanks for making this a perfect afternoon out!
Our first time in this beautiful restaurant and didnt disappoint! The attention and the food was amazing. The patio area is very pleasing surrounded by a beautiful garden. My husband ordered the red snapper and he loved it, we had penne pasta with vodka sauce for my daughter, delicious! I ordered the jumbo scallops with mushrooms rissotto and it was perfect! It is truly a different place to go eat that offers you the gourmet food that very few places offer now.
I’m a “regular” here when I’m traveling for work. I absolutely love this place. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere (especially outside and in the bar!). I literally have never been disappointed and that’s saying a LOT because I’m a huge foodie! If you have a chance to grab a drink and some food with Danita please make an effort to! She is just wonderful and just such a sweet a friendly bartender! Definitely a breath of fresh air. I’ve never had a bad experience here but she really made it an experience that I’m always looking for when I’m traveling and looking for a good place to try out!
Went for happy hour. Bartender was great, drinks were amazing and food was was delicious. Great service.
Great place to eat either outdoors or indoors. Has a nice seating arrangement outside. This place has sandwiches that can feed a family. My wife ordered crispy bbq sandwich, it was huge, and delicious. She said it had a little spicy kick to it. I ordered jumbo scallops and it was great, very creamy and delightful. They make fresh bread here as well, which we were pleasantly surprised by. Good spicy Bloody Mary is hard to come by but these folks did it just the way I like it. Definitely worth a stop.
Beautiful restaurant. Delicious food. Need to try Fench Toast at Sunday brunch.
First, it’s a gem in this area. Their service is superb. we tried- duck- lava grilled steak - should have this!!!- steak sandwich120% positive rating and great vibe….
Always yummy food here.Today "old world pizza"Rose sangriaChicken nachos and zucchini fries
This was a super fun place to go to! The restaurant is in a old but remodeled home so it gives it a nice homey New England feel while dining. The food was really good, minus the Margarita Pizza. The Filet Mignon is really good! The slices of bread are huge and super tasty. Its an expensive place but you get amazing food!
First time here and it was good food and good live music. I had the duck breast and my husband had the beef wellington.
Bells Mansion is a hidden gem! Fantastic food, service and an amazing atmosphere. Excellent menu choices including GF and Vegan. Perfectly prepared cocktails from a very nice list. The Calamari was outstanding! Very fresh with the perfect homemade seasoning. No red sauce given or needed. The beef Wellington was perfectly prepared with a fluffy crust and mouth watering grilled asparagus. The chicken Joshua was tender and very tasty. Nice large portions. The fresh baked bread on premises daily was OUTSTANDING! Great flavor with a nice crust. Desert menu was just as good with a nice variety. The Banana Flauta was delicious. Enough to share. Very reasonably priced with sterling service provided by our server "Jennifer. The is one historic restaurant not to be missed. Covid protocols in place including a QR menu. Easy parking and close to I-80.
Great variety of appetizers, yummy drinks and the entrees were tasty. Outdoor tent was super warm and cool atmosphere.
Really cute place! Friendly staff and great food. They also gave us home grown tomatoes 🍅 😊
Just go. Beautifully served and thoughtfully prepared food and drinks. Bells Mansion is a really special place for an easy, relaxing and enjoyable dining experience or special occasion. I have been there many times and have only been delighted and never disappointed.
Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTravels.Built in 1840 this place makes a nice restaurant with good ambience. Tables inside or on the garden patio and we chose the patio. We arrived at 7pm and were seated promptly. This being a Thursday night it was not as bad as the weekend Im sure. We started off with the apple guacamole served with fried plantains. Diane and I decided we must try this at home. The apples were a unique combination with the guacamole that really was good. I had the penne ala vodka sauce. I chose this after the lady next to us got this and it looked and smelled spectacular and it was as good as advertised. Diane had the scallops with scallions and mushroom risotto. She said the scallops were some of the best shes had and the risotto was perfectly cooked and creamy. To top it off was a creme brulee that was creamy and not to sweet. The perfect ending. All in all we were there over 2 hours as were almost all the guests around us. No pushy service here. One problem was that it took so long to choose because of some great selections available. Overall a big two thumbs up and highly recommended.👍👍
Food is fine and the atmosphere is great. We had a large parrty in a seperate room and the servers were attentive.
