The mussels with tomato sauce were really really nice!! We even finished the soup, didn’t leave a single drop😋it should be TEN stars!! We went there in the early afternoon so in the pic it doesn’t look very crowded. It’s a really cool place!! Strongly recommend!!

A fantastic range of Belgian beers and great staff, especially the manager but I cant remember her name, she is amazing. The food is also to die for. An absolute treat. You must give Belgo a try.

Nice place and good food!!! I went for mussels and my friend for ribs, no regrets!!! Both happy with our meal, size and quality. Staff was no enough for tonight but it was a busy might for a Monday... Even understaffed, place was properly ran and waiting wasnt an issue. Good job all!!

Went on a busy Saturday night for a ladies night out. The atmosphere was casual and there was good music playing. Our server was efficient and full of humour. The food was really good. I had the mussels in lobster sauce. I cant fault it. Will be going back soon

Belgo is by far my favourite restaurant in Nottingham! I love the atmosphere, food, their beer and above everything - the service. Anton always knows exactly what we frequently order and even remembers which beer we individually like! If youre looking for a great, fun and relaxed evening come here :)

If you love Belgian/Craft beers in a lively setting then Belgo is for you. Went on a busy Saturday night so wasnt expecting really great service but they delivered on this and more. The food tends to be more based on quality over quantity which was fine by me. The beer prices are what you would expect from a bustling area of the city centre. Enjoy.

A great restaurant to visit. Food was very nice and tasty. Only criticism is that we waited for over 15 mins for our bread which had no olive oil or butter included. Although resolved by request. The bottle of presecco was room temperature and not drinkable till ice in bucket had chilled the bottle.

Its alright. Really warm when its a hot day. The food was nice enough if unspectacular. Beers selection was excellent, which is to be expected, but the coffee was way too strong, to the point of being bitter. Service is excellent, decor is pretty dull.

Great vibes with delicious Belgian food including mussels, croquettes, Toulouse sausage and traditional stoemp mash! The beer selection is vast and beautifully varied from a tasteful vinegar flavour beer ( which goes great when accompanied with steak), to fruit flavoured beers and everything in between. If you love Belgium cuisine and having a great, relaxed time with brilliant service, Belgo is the place to go.

Extremely friendly staff and a great experience. Got a Groupon deal of a 3-course meal for two for just £23 - the food quality was superb. This place is a hidden gem, weve never been before but will definitely go again.

We loved the wonderful choice of beer each served in the correct glass and authentic Belgium cuisine. Beck, our waitress provided excellent attentive service and had visited Belgium showing a real appreciation of the special cultural features of Belgium.well done Beck!

Excellent food and waitress who took great care to ensure that the chef and waiting staff were aware of our gluten free food order for my wife who is Coeliac Very reassuring. We had a Groupon voucher for two courses for two for£19.99 and had starters of king prawns that were very tasty, followed by half chicken with BBQ sauce mash and a side of tender stem broccoli and the Belco burger with salad. BBQ sauce and chicken was gf and the burger came in a gf bun. All tasted great. We tried the two gf beers on the menu (not marked as such), the Mongozo pilsner and buckwheat bottled beers which were both excellent. The pilsner was gf, organic and fair trade.

Ok, so we were gonna go get a steak. Glad we stopped here instead. Skipped past the half roast chicken on the menu and went straight to the mussels. Pleased we did. Really good. Big dish full of em! Recommended by our waiter and didnt disappoint. Money well spent and will be visiting again.

This place had affordable prices, with a great "bottomless" dinner option which we loved. It had a little something for everyone on the menu and I enjoyed everything I ordered.I would recommend the moules mariniere, the king prawns with mango salsa and most definitely the waffles, they were fresh and light and delicious!!All staff were alert and helpful and polite. Not overbearing or too chatty either. Really great service and we were allowed to be on our table until we wanted to go not rushed out as soon as our plates were cleared!Would 100% RECOMMEND and will be going back :)

Now I love Belgo, there are about 6 in London and this is the first one outside London. On entering the dining room was very stylish and the staff friendly, I liked that they even had a small bar area too so you could just come in and sample a few of the amazing collection of Belgium beers they stock. Also we were both dressed down and felt comfortable enough. We both ordered the moules frites and a bottle of Gavi, wine was lovely and my Moules, classic white wine and cream were tasty although they were all on the small size which was disappointing. The misses had Thai mussels which were like mussels in a watery lemon flavoured juice, and they were small too so we wasn’t too impressed hence the 3 stars. Finally although the staff were lovely and friendly we did need to grab their attention each time rather they anticipate our needs.Give it a go and see what you think. May have been an off day for them.

Nice menu, but has a limited selection of vegan food. The few options in offer were of decent quality. The venue is pleasant to sit in and has a nice atmosphere and everything was reasonably priced.

Ive been looking forward to Belgo for a year, I booked a table for lobstoberfest last year and when we got there theyd ran out of lobster and not even said anything, so I left. That might seem dramatic but they make you select what menu you want when you book online so its not like they were unaware.Anyway, this time was a bit better, theyd ran out of waffles, well, the waffle machine broke... Last week... And clearly all the waffle machine engineers were out of town for the week.Anyway, the fish and chips was pretty damn good, the tartare sauce was off the scale to be honest. The pan fried cod was apparently average sadly. Both area were cold, it doesnt take a MasterChef to warm the plates man, come on.The crêpes were offered as the waffles were down, Ive got to say they were advertised as awesome, awesome they were not. Cold cardboard springs to mind, the popping chocolate made up for the thoroughly average crêpes. The service was excellent, friendly staff and quick delivery, the Belgian beer selection is fantastic and unlike most places, no premium for the privilege. That said, I went for the food and it wasnt great so I wont bother going back.Expensive averageness. Cant recommend.

I always have great experiences here, the food and drink are both superb. The stake and mussels are both well above average. The staff are typically very attentive and polite. Both myself and my partner love Belgian food and drink and feel this restaurant does a very good job of replicating it in Nottingham. Overall a great place to dine and enjoy what’s great about Belgian cuisine.

Really disappointed with my meal - I had mussels. They were mostly dry, lots of empty shells, but most disconcertingly, lots of shards of cracked shells in the sauce. The manager did pass by my table at one point with the obligatory everything ok? but he moved on before I could reply. To be fair, they did appear to be pretty short-staffed, so maybe it was just an off-night.

Belgo in Nottingham is one of the only branches outside of London. A large selection of authentic Belgian beers (both bottled and draughtwith some delicious options. The food here is also excellent. If you love mussels the huge pots will keep you busy and full. There are classic versions as well as more adventurous options, such as Kimchee. Pricing is on par with most city centre restaurants (the beer can be a bit more expensive but you are getting what you pay for, traditional Belgian craft beers. Its not an option for loading up before heading out for a big night)

Our eatery of choice, the range of Belgian beers is always extremely good. The food is also excellent, but last night the fish and frites were amazing - possibly the best we have ever had...anywhere. Ever.

Well...we booked an Xmas meal for group of friends well in advance... We were pretty relaxed and happy to catch up on the chat but it took 50 mins to get our starter...45 to get our main and 30 to get our dessert...which kinda took the P a bit given they are so hot on you ordering your Xmas food 3 weeks in advance... There was a group of 25-30 behind us but rest of upstairs looked chilled... we didnt get aggro. Waitresses were polite etc, but kitchen v slow so they lost a decent tip. Atmosphere was good. Might go back.

We had the lobster and a starting sharing platter. Although the lobster was good but not so much value for money we were content with it. The starter sharing platter however was an utter disgrace. There was barely any cheese or bread and the fish goujons was horrible absolutely nothing on that board was edible for its price.

Seafood menu. Great for something a bit different from the normal pub grub. Atmosphere aims for trendy American theme which isnt bad. The dining chairs could be a bit more comfortable giving the impression they aim for quick turnaround on tables. Food arrived in acceptable time though it was not busy midweek anyway

My boyfriend and I wanted to go for a nice meal and happened to stumble upon Belgo. The service was poor, the food took a long time to arrive even though it wasnt at all busy. We finally got our meals, my boyfriend ordered a streak which cost £21 and was dry in the middle. Nobody bothered to come and ask if our meals were ok and when we had finished and wanted to get our bill all of the staff were just standing around chatting. In the end my boyfriend had to go and break up their chat to get bill from them.Obviously we will not be going back there and neither of us would recommend the place to anyone.

We had a great experience, mainly because the bar person was awesome. She gestured us to a nice table in the corner, but we were hungry so I proceeded to ask questions and order there. The recommendation was spot on, Thai muscles and belgo blonde beer were excellent and having one with chips and one with bread!Had a lovely time. We did arrive pretty late, but we felt a little rushed out. Would recommend.

The food was okay although the Traditionnelle pot of moules was a bit disappointing, too bland. The staff was friendly but inattentive, we had to struggle to get their attention. We were served by several different people; someone would bring a dessert menu, for example, but not come back for the order. And they forgot the jug of water. Overall okay but I thought it was a bit pricey for what it is.

Came to this restaurant with 3 friends with high expectations as we have previously been to the London branches. Sadly, the Nottingham branch has a distinct lack of staff, slow and poor customer service. Foodwise, medium raw steak arrived as bleu by the bone. The braised ox cheek was done perfectly, but ruined by the mash potato which tasted sour. When questioned, waiter informed us sour cream was used but menu didnt state any. Luckily the mussels and lobster saved the meal. Needless to say we wont be coming back to this branch anytime soon.

Very enjoyable meal and quite reasonably priced; the duck croquettes were excellent and so was the calamari. Beware, the bowls of delicious mussels are huge and very filling, so we couldnt manage the waffles too. There will have to be another visit to try these.

We went on Saturday, we had to add at the last moment 1 person to the table, they did not put any problem. They have an amazing selection of beers, and fruity beers for the non beer lovers like me and it was still better when we had our waitress Julio helping us all they way the extended beer list, He seriously knows lots about all the beers .. he was recommending us excellent choices ( my partner and guys words)Food was fantastic, i do love mussels, so i had lots as the portions/pots are quite big, we had few starters to share , really good, beer or duck croquettes are sooo good.. but i have to say that the Lobster bisque was one of my favorites.depending how hungry you are a mussel pot might not fill you up ( they are big though so you have a lot of other options, chicken, fish, steaks etc.. even a whole lobster or half lobster for a really good price. They have nice desserts too, we had waffles.. yummy..we left with really full tummies and happy with the service received and all the food, definitely coming back
