Belgard Kitchen in Vancouver

From starters to oven pizzas and main entrées, the food was done with well balanced texture, flavours and temperature. The sablefish was smooth and cooked just right, matched so well with the crispy lotus, pine nuts, mushrooms and the touch of Asian spicy oil! The wine flight was a nice experience, especially when seating next to walls of barrels! Very reasonable price for this quality of food and drinks!

I went on a Sunday at opening and was surprised at how quickly this place filled up. Dont be fooled by the neighborhood this place is found. Once you step through their doors, youre swept away with their beautiful and updated industrial design & decor. The service is very friendly and professional, who frequently checked in with the table. We ordered the Belgard burger and the salmon gravlax skillet, topped off with the tiramisu french toast (which we had as the dessert, most optimally split between 3 people). Most notably for me was their housemade ketchup served with the burger, which has a masala twist. Also, the french toast is not too sweet, and has a banana bread texture, perfect for soaking up the caramel sauce its served in; definitely the star of the show. To wash it down we chose lattes, but quickly wished we also ordered the mimosa flights, as we saw them come down on other peoples tables, which look fantastic. As a final touch, they serve you a post card to go with your bill, something really cute and unique. I definitely want to come back for another brunch but also for their happy hour, which looks like a completely different experience, and features a 3oz Negroni for $8!

Fantastic food and the best beer we have had in Vancouver! Its a little pricy, but very reasonable given the quality of the food.Had the mushroom and bacon pizza to start, followed by the gnocchi. Very high quality ingredients.

Yum, had the special- it was essentially turkey left overs with hollandaise and eggs on top. Delicious, 10/10 would recommend.

This place is wonderful. The food was great. The selection of taps is great. The wine selections are great. The atmosphere is terrific and the decor a feast for the eyes. Converted from an industrial use, the gantry crane has been worked into an eclectic industrial decor that feels warm and welcoming. Staff were warm and welcoming. The menu has something for everyone. Four dishes served at our table were each terrific. Highly recommend.

We came here for the $65pp tasting menu because it’s typically the best way to see what a restaurant offers and we were celebrating a birthday.First off, this place is definitely one of those diamonds in the ruff, especially based on where it’s located. Once you enter, you’re greeted with a rustic yet intimate vibe. It used to be a warehouse and the place had a very nice ambiance. It’s very Canadian.We started off with a beer flight, which was refreshing - I believe they sell mainly local beers. I will say their wine flights are worth a try because everyone seemed to be ordering that, I’m just not a fan of wine.As for the food, it looked and tasted pretty good. A few of my favourites was the beet salad, duck breast and pasta. However, I don’t think it’s worth $65pp because there was nothing that “wowed” me. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better valued tasting menus at similar price points.Overall, I had a good experience here and would definitely return. Maybe not for the tasting menu, but probably a nice beer and pizza!

Belgard catered our wedding and it is literally all anyone is talking about days later. My mom is still messaging me telling me about how everyone is telling her the food is so good. Cait was a pleasure to work with and helped us with rentals for serving as well as a few other organizational tasks. The food is a bit pricey but the quantities are huge, even for family style, and that coupled with how delicious it is, it is well worth it!

First time coming to The Belgard for evening service and it did not disappoint. Vancouver is a city that definitely lacks good service when it comes to dining, however our server Sean was top class. He was clearly busy with a full restaurant but managed to give us a great breakdown of the menu and check in with us regularly, just great service.The grilled cheese and tomato soup really lived up to its hype and then we had two pasta dishes that were both delicious. Will definitely be back again to try other menu items.

We recently tried Belgard kitchen for the first time. We ordered several dishes as share plates. The roasted cauliflower was good and the beet salad was pretty standard but there were misses, including the duck pizza (greasyand meatballs (dry, small and overpriced).The table-for-two was tiny and completely unsuitable for tapas/share plates + flights of wine. You had to constantly rearrange the table to accommodate arrival of food items. The restaurant wouldnt move us to a larger table despite there being multiple ones available for the duration of our dining experience. They did not replace our plates once, meaning we used the same small plate for four separate courses.Ambience is nice and its a good space but would definitely not return based on food quality and service. There are definitely better dining experiences to be had in Vancouver for this type of restaurant.

Great food, drinks and service. One of Vancouver’s best local spots. The staff are always wonderful, unique local craft beer, beautiful building. Vibe is super cool.

My friends and I had originally booked for a large party table but half of us were unable to attend and the staff were really sweet and understanding about it. A few of the members tried the food and said it was good though.Props to the staff for great customer service and being very understand!

If you want a winery without having to go to an actual vineyard, this is your place! They have wines from all over the region and beyond. Their selection of wines, beers, and drinks mixed with their delicious food makes this the absolute best brunch spot in Vancouver! They have many options for meat eaters and vegetarians too! Our server was very friendly, down to earth, and made our experience here very pleasant. They even have wine, cider, and beer to purchase for take home!

Having made reservations in advance, we came downtown not certain of what to expect in the way of parking but somehow managed to find a space close to the place. The neighbourhood doesnt quite give it away, its like a diamond in the rough there. But once you get to the door, the architecture speaks for itself.The place is beautiful and well set. We went for the belgard experience and ordered some wine flights. Couldnt have asked for more..

We booked this restaurant last minute when we arrived to Vancouver and it blew away our expectations. All the food was brilliant and it had a great collection of in house brewed beers. The Risotto and Gnocchi were extremely tasty.

Always enjoyed food and drinks here, especially on Monday where happy hour is all day.We ordered:Mushroom + Bacon Pâtépickled shimeji mushrooms, house bacon, grilled sourdoughSpeck + Truffled House Cheese PizzetteOyama speck, truffled fresh house cheese, fig preserve, watercressCarrot Cakebuttermilk ice cream, walnut praline, chai spiceChocolate Ganachered wine poached pears, salted caramel ice creamThe pate was creamy and flavorful, the bacon bits and mushrooms on top were a nice touch to the texture of smooth pate.The pizza was tasty but I didn’t taste much fig, I wish there was more flavor and amount of cheese on the flatbread.The wine flight is a good deal for happy hour as you get 6 glasses. The Negroni is 3oz so it was strong but super worth it.Ordered both of the desserts as well!! I really like how the carrot cake was like a sticky pudding texture and it has a nice spicy kick to it. Needs more ice cream as the scoop is tiny.The chocolate ganache was an interesting texture and the plums that go along with it, work really well together, ice cream scoop was smaller as well.

Good food and service. Charcuterie board was lacking in cheese but what was there was quite tasty.

I went there on a Wednesday.Even if they propose 10 white wines on the menu they only had 2… strange and frustrating.Food is not waow but not bad, just normal.I found much better in the city.The Place is very original, very nice deco.

This place is so cool. A reclaimed warehouse, it has a vibe of old while modern. The high ceilings give it a lot of space and light. I love the whole ambiance. Everything was clean, including the washrooms. Service was super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Great choice of drinks. The beer flights were great, as was the rose flight. We chose the 9-course menu (which I understand is no longer available now). Pricey - but worth it! So, so delicious and creative. And I like that there’s an open second floor area for more private gatherings. I hope to use it for a birthday or work meeting sometime.

Cute venue with an industrial/heritage vibe. Our server had such great energy and made the evening. The chef and bartender were able to accomodate us with some vegan options for our large group including a custom cocktail. Would love to see more vegan options on the core menu in the future and a wider selection of drinks that don’t use animals products in the production process.

They have the BEST tomato soup and grilled cheese I have ever had. I keep coming back here just for that. It’s so deliciously warm and gooey I would highly recommend buying it.My friends had a pizza and a pasta and both said their food was also very delicious.I love the look and feel of the place. Very modern but they continue to use the old architecture of the warehouse which gives it a fancy feel to it.We had a booked reservation and when arriving were told that we could only sit there for 2 hours and would need to leave afterwards. Which I was a bit surprised about. As well we were asked if it was for a special occasion and when indicating it was my birthday they didn’t seem to do anything about it. Which is weird because why ask us why we are there then? As well our glasses that were at the table for water was pretty dirty and looked almost unwashed.Overall the service is great/everyone is very friendly. The parking is super easy to find with a parking lot across the street (pay parking and they have great wines and food to drink. Great place for a date!

super delicious brunch menu! our server was nice and gave us advice of what to explore around vancouver. the building was beautiful and the food was awesome!

First staff meeting since 2020. Servers and hosting staff were attentive and friendly, and made great recommendations. The house popcorn is a great alternative to starchy side. One in our group of 4 had a beautiful salad instead. Desserts are light and delicious, and presented for sharing. Impressive vintage industrial conversion. Grateful for the recommendation. Will return with family, out-of-town guests, clients. My ebike, parked just outside the door, was safe. The neighbourhood is clearly a destination for future visits.

We had a brunch here. Food was excellent, ambiance was great too. There was a miscommunication on my order but the manager sorted out with excellent service. I really appreciate it. I highly recommend this place.

First time going and the food was absolutely delicious. Our table had a little bit of everything. Wine flights, beer flights, a range of meals and both desserts. Everyone left full and so so happy. Our server Ben was awesome!

This place had exceeded our expectations and beyond! The service is unreal! Other restaurants need to take some notes. Our server had known all the menu items thoroughly and was extremely helpful with suggestions. The food is amazing, you need to try the grilled cheese and bisque, it made our night. The interior is beautiful & the wine list was amazing as well!

Came here without any expectations and can’t stop going back. Love the wine (recommend trying a wine flight for variety!and the food is spectacular. The service was great, the venue beautiful.

Had ramen and flatbread, oh boy it was delicious!Ramen is arguably and surprisingly one of the best in town. Noodle itself is average but the rich soup is just top notch! Flatbread is excellent too, my wife who doesn’t like pizza/flatbread still enjoyed it very much.Interior is very comfy, modern, high ceiling, and nice. Service is pretty good! Price is quite affordable. The location itself could be a bit scary as you drive thru Gastown/Chinatown, but on this particular block, it is not that bad. Also encountered some homeless people who asked for changes when I was parking on the street, but they were nice and polite.Thumb up!!

If your looking for a restaurant that’s in the city yet tucked away.. this is the place! It’s wood-rustic vibes welcomes you with their very tall entrance doors. Tapas and food influenced by west coast lifestyle you can expect all the dishes are made fresh, local and with love + passion. I highly recommend the meatballs + cauliflower to share. Don’t expect a large selection of cocktails because they specialize in craft beer and cider with BC VQA wines! This place is great for any occasion as the ambiance is quite relaxing. Think of being in a .. high end dim light barn with delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend.

Interesting hidden gem, a totally different world inside, nice decor, great food during brunch just didnt like much the potatoes as they were a bit dry and became hard, not much seasoning either but great dishes and environment.

What a amazing experience! We enjoyed the amazing wine flights and the price so worth! Our servers very friendly and nice! The wine so delicious with the greatest charcuterie board ! And the pizza also super delicious! I would recommend this place to all my friends. Will definitely come back soon!

Interesting atmosphere with the brewing experience being part of the establishment. The food for brunch or dinner is good and offers some satisfying items.

Low key place to grab a quick bite and afternoon drinks with friends. The tomato soup is very delicious. I found the popcorn serving to be a nice break from the French fries everyone else serves

10/10 don’t recommend for dinner. The charcuterie only had three slices of cheese as well as olives that tasted like chlorine. Small portions and timing from the kitchen was poor. If you like cold food and small portions such as one mini roasted potato and 10 mini slices of beef they label as Wagyu go here. There was likely more gravy than potatoes and meat.

Went for Happy Hour with a couple of girlfriends and it was totally worth it. Great food and a fine selection of tasteful wines on their flights!

Our offices are nearby so this is our regular Tuesday lunch joint. The dragon bowl with added tuna is a must have here! Their daily features are also very tasty and often involve a bit of Japanese fusion — like their take on the okonomiyaki that I stumbled on a few weeks back.Food always comes up with great presentation and staff are consistently friendly.

Came here on a rainy day for a late lunch. The interior is quite fascinating with the lighting, barrels and overall decor. The food came promptly and our server was friendly! Food was absolutely delicious and perfect portions for 2 ppl.10/10 would come back and check out their other menus!

We had a lovely time, the employees were very welcoming and accommodating for a small gathering we had. Yeah food was tasty, serving sizes are light which is exactly what we were looking for. We did not partake in a lot of the spirits but could see a healthy listing and we did enjoy the wine tasting flight. I would enjoy visiting again for a casual gathering, especially when enjoying their Belgard Bacon!

Very cool place! Its our second time here, always love the wide selection of wine AND beer here. Their food is delicious too. Bonus points for having happy hour from 3-6pm on weekdays and Monday all day, Ill for sure come back!

Very nice ambience. A plus for parking available in the area. Service is decent and food taste great! My dish was the Belgard Burger. Its savoury but yet refreshing, making it perfect for brunch. I sometimes find burgers and some food too greasy for brunch so thats a banger. The potato though seems a bit stale. Would have been a perfect dish if the potato was fresh. The beer options were decent as well. Recommend this place.

Food was pretty good but on the pricey side. The wagyu meatballs had 4 meatballs but costed $24. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. I would come back purposely for drinks, but not necessarily for food.

Really delicious restaurant that was recommended by a friend.Ordered the Pacific Charcuterie Board (newest addition to the charcuterie menu), along with the Wagyu Bolognese and the Wagyu Bavette.The charcuterie board features seafood like gravlax sockeye salmon, oysters, candied salmon, bee pollen cream cheese (sooo delish), olives, house focaccia and flatbreads. It was very delicious and a good starter for 4 people.The Wagyu Bavette with potatoes was cooked perfectly and just so tender. It had a great bite and texture to it and just seasoned perfectly. The Bolognese was so delicious, the perfect meat sauce paired with house made fresh pasta.Would recommend to go with some friends, enjoy!

Places like this makes traveling worth it. Everything was truly flawless. Huge space, but with a friendly, comfortable feel. The staff was great, knowledgeable, and helpful. We tried some of the locally made wines and ciders. The lambrusco was good, if a bit sweet, and the cider was excellent, sweet without being cloying, light and refreshing.We tried a few small plates, another home run, especially the Wagyu meatballs. The meat, cheese and the spicy marinara sauce was fantastic. The chef also gave us a taste of a new experiment of his, a basil granité, and it seriously rocked our world.Totally recommended.

Went here for weekend brunch. The food was not good.The Belgian waffles were dry and hard. The inside was not warm. Tasted like it was previously frozen.The potatoes that came with the wagyu meatballs were old and hard.

Enjoyed the food and the wonderful service at this historic building in Vancouver’s Railtown district. The Stewart Building once housed a former ironworks manufacturer as evidenced by all the stunning ironwork, and was once the location of an airplane manufacturing co during the World War. Thick wood beams make this one of a kind building a must see 👀 So lovely!

We had an amazing evening at Belgard Kitchen! We tried the beer flight and the wine flight. I had the Wagyu Bavette and it was absolutely the best meat dish I ever had. Also the bartender was super friendly and he gave us some other great recommendations for places to go to in Vancouver!

I must say that the Yam Gnocchi here was amazing! However, the carrot cake and then the marshallow desserts were not very tasty. Was disappointed by the desserts but the pizzette and the main courses were great.

It felt having coffee at home. :)Staff are friendly and price is reasonable.You should try it and you won’t regret.
