Fantastic tour that had it all - history, politics, culture, architecture, street art, bars, hotels and cafes. Definitely one to do at the start of your trip to work out where to visit and spend more time later. Marti knows and loves his city and tells stories with a unique style and dry wit. We also appreciated his willingness to tailor the tour to our interests and time commitments. We highly recommend!

My sister and I arranged a walking tour, the Belfast Political Murals Street Art and Peace Fate tour for Tuesday 13th September. Due to the Kings visit the tour had to be re-arranged and Marti went out of his way to fit in with our busy itinerary and even came to our hotel to collect us. He gave us an overview of the history of Northern Ireland beforehand so we would understand what we were about to see on the walk. He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting and took us to places that we wouldnt have found ourselves. He showed us murals, pubs and other points of interest including a 300 year old pub for lunch with genuine Irish stew. During the tour he conveyed his passion about people finding common ground and living in peace together. Marti was a fantastic guide and we highly recommend this tour with him.

Marti was an amazing guide through the queit rainy streets of Belfast on our visit. I would HIGHLY recommend doing this when you land in the city as itll give some amazing insights on the nightlife and the best way to experience the local culture however you want to. He was knowledgeable, and basically provided us with a personalized tour of Belfast. The street art from site to site was incredible and worth its own tour. I look forward to returning tomorrow to capture some of the incredible art scattered around this city. Dont expect a night of drinking, but rather a jaunt around Belfast proper and the best spots from a local. This is the Belfast you want to experience.10/10 and thank you Marti, it was a pleasure

My partner and I only had a very short time in Belfast so we decided to book the eclectic city centre tour with Marti. It was mid week and it turned out that day it was only us. Marti completely tailored the tour to our tastes and was very accommodating. Marti is a pleasure to talk with, has a wealth of knowledge about a range of topics and is a very interesting person. We had an incredible experience on the walking tour, the information was personalised and in depth, clear and concise. Marti was a genuine host and really looked after us on our tour. For a way of getting a good feel for a city fast and to discover areas where you may want to look deeper this is definitely the tour to take. I cant recommend this enough.

Marti is both knowledgeable and entertaining! We enjoyed the way he explained the history leading up to the troubles and gave us exposition on the different parties involved in the conflict. He showed us projects and murals that are forging peace between both Protestants and Catholics, rather than focusing on what divides them. His message of love and peace is so vital. Marti also is very knowledgeable about local art, music, and food spots! Take his tour, you’ll enjoy it!

Marti is not just a wonderful tour guide, hes also a great storyteller! He will show you a lot of cool street art, historical pubs, and variety of live music venues. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Belfast!

My husband and I were looking for a walking tour during our stay in Belfast. Unfortunately we only had one day, but we found Marti’s Street Art, music and pub experience was still available. The group was small the night we went, so we were able to ask tons of questions as we walked through the city and admired the street art. It blew us away how much Marti knew about his city, and how passionate he is about it. He also knew a bunch of people! He took us to some community areas ie music studio and explained how Belfast is all about bringing together people and everyone supports each other. He was also very knowledgeable about all the street artists and when the works were from and what they represented. He did a fantastic job showing us the city so we had our bearings and gave us so many recommendations for off the beaten path bars and pubs (we walked through many many cool bars but no one wanted to stop for a drink as we wanted to see as much as possible). It was well worth the money, and we even got a drink with Marti after at the Crown Saloon!

An excellent and unique tour with Marti. We saw so many different places and stories that we wouldnt have known about if it wasnt for him. His firsthand knowledge is second to none. His passion for Belfast and its people shines through. We would most definitely recommend doing a tour with him and well be doing another when we next visit. Eclectic is the perfect name for this tour. SO much information covering so many different aspects of Belfast and NI/Irish history, present, and future.The level of knowledge that Marti has is incredible, and it was fascinating watching his eyes look up to the right as though hes reading a script in the sky, as he gives an incredible level of detail about everything.The tour started with introductions, discussing what we knew, and what we wanted to get out of the tour. It followed with a detailed history of a few major points from the last few hundred years that set a foundation for what we were about to see. We then set off on a walk around the city, going through so many different streets, stopping at so many different places, and going in/out/through bars, hotels, and restaurants. He was well known in many of those places, and was welcomed by them.The tour was very personal - he remembered our names, and little details from the introduction that were frequently brought into elements of the tour.Highly recommended. We attended Marti’s Political Murals, Street Art and Trobles walking tour in November. We were unlucky with the weather, but Marti lead us through the storm and his tour was definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Belfast. Marti really knows what he’s talking about when it comes to history, street art and all the troubles the city has lived through. His stories brought the political murals to life and we totally enjoyed the walk despite the weather. Our group warmly recommends choosing Marti as your guide to Belfast, he does not only have extensive knowledge, but also great eye for perfect photo opportunities and he was very easy to approach and friendly. I hope to visit Belfast soon again so I can join Marti on one of his other tours and get to know the city from yet another angle. Seeing Belfast through the eyes of Marti is not only learning about the city history in a fun and enjoyable way but an experience! Quite the character Marti is...quirky and yet so knowledgeable. Highlight of our trip! A fascinating look back into the history of Belfast and the region that really helped understand howNorthern Ireland became the wonderful country it is today. I enjoyed a private version of Martis "Eclectic Belfast" tour yesterday afternoon when I had a few hours free in Belfast. Marti was able to accommodate me at short notice and we had a relaxed walk around many of the streets and alleyways of Belfast, and a few interesting refreshment stops. The tour lives up to its name and is an eclectic mix which covers history, architecture, street art and murals and although Ive previously lived in Belfast, I learned many things I had not known before. We also walked through one of Belfasts most prestigious hotels, the Merchant Hotel, on our route.Marti is a likeable and engaging character and his tours will definitely enhance your visit to Belfast and I whole-heartedly recommend.

Very good tour, saw lots of unique sites in Belfast

We (both 28, from Germany and in Belfast for two daysdecided to book the political mural tour as we didnt want to take a taxi tour and wanted to do a walking tour instead.To be brief: the tour was fantastic! Our guide Marty took two and a half hours to show us many fascinating facets and corners of Belfast, taking into account our personal interests and going above and beyond to give us a window into the more recent history of Belfast.After the tour we wished that we hadnt only stayed for two days (book a week instead!and will pass on many of Martys recommendations and tips on to our friends, should they visit.Thank you Marty for a lovely and stimulating afternoon and all the best!P.S.: The fish and chips at Brights were great and we got some nice souvenirs at The Wicker Man!

Great tour by Marti around Belfast City centre. A lot of interesting information about the citys history is given at the beginning, followed by facts about the local buildings, then it is on to interesting sites and hidden gems and finally the growing street art scene. The time flew by, perhaps a bit rushed at the end by enjoyable nonetheless. Used the message function in Google maps to contact the organiser of the tour which was helpful and very easy to use.

Martis walking tour was a fabulous way to begin our stay in Belfast. His knowledge of his beloved city and his personal, small group approach made it a 4 hours plus well spent evening. One of the best walking tours Ive been on. Highly recommended.
