State museum exhibiting Belarusian & Russian painting & sculpture in a classical-style building.
Belarusian National Arts Museum in Polatsk
Description
Interesting 🤔
Well organized according to chronology of the paintings, uniqe in it is contents regarging belarussian historyGood time spent
MoreOne of the best spots in Minsk. Lots of classical and modern national art, changing exhibitions and events. Love space of new gallery.
Moretiny interesting museum if u have 1.5 hour of free time
A wonderful place to go to see some current exhibits. When I went, they had a new exhibit on the color red and how it relates to the Belarusian people. I found it interesting and the descriptions were well written. I have been several times and will continue to go back when they implement more exhibits as the rest of the museum doesnt change.
MoreGood museum with nice collections 👌Lighting makes enjoying some pieces, rather difficult though
MoreI love this place. A very good collection of the Russian painting of XVII-the beginning of XX centures. And, of course, the best collection of the Belarusian art, painting, sculpture and some beautiful things of Christian art of Belarus of former centuries.
MoreNot the greatest art museum in the world but still interesting for getting a good overview of Belarusian art history and has also quite a few works from famous painters. Temporary exhibitions can be very good, too.
MoreNice building with a very interesting collection. A must see for any art/culture lover visiting Minsk.
MoreThe museum is great. There are a lot of beautiful painting and sculptures. Highly recommend.
MoreIts all right, but nothing special. This is not the museums fault, just simply incomparable with those from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Paris, London. Etc. IMHO
MoreWonderful collection of Russian art. Absolutely loved it!
Love this place! Great arts museum in the city!
Its simple building but with rather reach and complete collections and more, very kind people and they know about what they speak. They need, as usual in such type of cultural sphere, money. So dont hesitate go, visit and at the end, when you are tired, enjoy a drink.
MoreExcellent and varied collection of fine art!Really high level of artistry.Highly recommended to visit while in Minsk!
MoreCompared to similar museums in other countries this is not a very big one, but it holds an excellent exhibition (mostly of paintings and some sculpturesby some great artists. The entry costs only 6byn, so there is no reason of thinking it too much. It really worths a visit.
MoreUnfortunately big part of museum was closed for reconstruction when visited this place. But I still loved everything I saw and recommend everyone to visit this museum. I honestly cant wait to come back and still whole place. Entrance fee is only 6rubles which is approximately $3
MoreIt mixes the old with the new. Signage was in the international language. It appears none of the security/guards do. They also fail to shut down people walking around talking on their phone. Its very hard to enjoy the beauty of the museum with idiots talking loudly on the phone.
MoreNice museum ! Must visit if you like paintings !
Good art museum and staff very kind.
Love it!
A small museum with decent local art. Worth dropping by.
it didnt work on 9th of may... but its only one day when I can to the museum. I watched working hours in Google and offical webpage of the museum, but i didnt find any information about working museum in this day. Im very disappointed about of it.
MoreGreat selection of wonderful artworks
Small but good organized permanent exposition. There are too much works of known masters.Right now you can also see Dalis exposition here. And its too expressive as for me.
MoreNice place in neoclassical style. Good gallery with reach collection of art!
Nice selection of 19th and 20th century art, some from Belarus and other pieces from abroad.
MoreIt is "must have" place for Minsk visitors. Not a lot of pictures but most of them are butifull. A lot of pictures which describe belurusion people life in past.
MoreVery beautiful museum.. The arts and paintings are unbelievably amazing! Pay a visit if you love art and history.
MoreWas ok. I did not found the picture, which describes the history of Belarus.
Its small but organized, they have some temp and permanent thing. The little cute cafe is nice and it tastes good. The employees are knowledgeable and pretty friendly(although some take time to warm-up, those end up the best people). Over all I recommend to visit this place.
MoreDont expect good attitude. Came 30 minutes before closing to check small exhibition, but was not welcome. A lot of people watch you over the exhibition, which is not quite comfortable. Wish there were more friendliness in service.
MoreMuch to see. A little bit of everything.
Amazing collection of art, however the presentation and the lighting are horrible. Missing professional touch. Also, offers no discounts to kids and seniors. No elevator to the second floor.
MoreNice museum! Spent about an hour here and got a nice taste of Belarusian culture. There’s a good mix of modern art (the main exhibit when I was there), but also small statues of Cossacks and your classic landscapes. The building itself was my favorite part, and the top floor with some interesting art from the Soviet era. It’s 8byn entrance for adults, 4byn for students. I’d say you could spend anywhere from 1-2 hours here, but it’s one of the more interesting attractions in Minsk.
MoreNot very large but well organized and cozy. Good quality permanent and temporary exhibits. Nice little café there with a choice of gourmet coffees, snacks and freshly squeezed juice. Nice and cute girls working there!))
MoreI like the place so much! Always nice exhibition, polite staff, simple navigation. I like to show the museum to guests from another places. If you in love with art, history and culture, youll be highly satisfied with visit of the museum. ;Welcome!
MoreSeveral hours of real joy and pleasure visiting that place. I really liked that it is not so huge to get tired somewhere in the middle but at the same time - not small to feel unsatisfied afterwards. If you like art and paintings than there is no any objection not to visit it!
MoreFriendly staff, well arranged artworks. Great atmosphere. Coffee shop prepare tasty small meals and great coffee with delicious cakes.I will come back!
MoreIt wasn’t the food that inspired me on this short trip to Minsk, it was the artworks of one 19th century landscape painter, Ivan Aivazovsky. His piece “Night at Rodos Island” is sublime. The art works in this large gallery are expansive in period range and scale. There was an exhibit on horses and horse related art works that I found fascinating.
MoreI highly recommend this museum. It has a wonderful collection of portraits of women unequal to most museums that I’ve been to.
MoreConstantly changing exhibition. Every time could find something new.
Social realism exhibit was amazing. Loved the new wing of the museum- so much light!
MoreAwesome! Breathtaking paintings and sculptures from great artists in a beautiful environment. Congrats to the curators. Must visit!
MoreMarble & wooden sculpture, paintings and ancient magazines, mesmerizing details of art works are within this museum.
MoreFriendly staff, spacious halls, great exhibitions of modern artists
Everything was good but could have more contemporary art.
Interesting art museum. You can find both classical and modern art exhibition of Belarusian artists.
MoreThis museum, although not big has always some interesting exposition going on. The paintings are not stacked one above the other and the illumination of the building is really well done. The cheap prices for the ticket make it an inexpensive visit.
MoreThere are several reasons why I like this museum a lot: quality of paintings, exhibition rooms are not overfilled with paintings and mainly in the upper floors there is a lot of light due to the interesting architecture of the building. This museum have signs in English, this is one of the exceptions. The art ranges from the contemporary to the medieval with everything in between and a scattering of work from other parts of the world.Have to say this is still an impressive museum of Belarus, also there are works by Belarusian artists.
