Bekitzer - Israeli restaurant in Saint Petersburg, Russia
Nice place with Jewish food. Very friendly staff.
Great hospitality and atmosphere. And the food is really delicious
The first visit on Friday night was a bit of fail cause we didn’t expect that there wouldn’t be any chance to get closer to the bar as the place was stuffed up with happy lads and ladies, so we took some takeaway shawarmas. They tasted pretty good, but it was not enough. Today we came back and had a free table. Tried three excellent Jewish dishes and two magnificent cocktails. The waitress acted like a hyper-skilled-pro and smiled like a Miyazaki anime girl character, unfortunately, don’t know her name, but she had a t-shirt with a Clockwork Orange text on it “Korovamilk Bar”. Thanks to her and the chefs.Verdict: 5 falafels out of 5.
Decent place to grab so food. Not everything is delicious but most things are. Cocktails are ok. Always busy here
I loved it. The food was fantastic. We had a big party and every one of us loved what they got. The pita especially was delicious, I could tell it was home made. Additionally the service was great, our server were really nice and took time with us.P.S. If you know what labneh is and love it, it’s on the kids menu just ask for it
What a place!! Amazing food! Lovely interior. Friendly staff. Good prices. We were coming back over again for a breakfast during our stay in St Pete. Great shakshuka, great falafel, great hummus, very good coffee. What else do you need at the morning???
This is basically P. alestinian and Arabic food!!! even this you have stolen ? isnt enough you stile the land? the houses? the identity ? ? and worse of all their existence? at least leave the hummus!
Hummus is great, cocktails are original and refreshing.Crowded, seating is kinda uncomfortable.
Love it here. Best hummus in St Petersburg.Order Hummus and Pita and you wont regret it. :)Enjoy
Great tastes, friendly staff and good value for money! If you are into middle eastern tastes, try it!
It is a must-visit place. Amazing food and atmosphere.
Brilliant. Excellent middle eastern street food at good prices in a hip atmosphere with sweet music. Open until 6am ... the whisky menu is long and varied.
The best street food in Saint P and great drinks at the bar. The atmosphere is always great. Perfect place to go on a night with friends. Love the seats outside in summer.
I went here solo and had a great time. They have bar seats but they also let me move to a table when there was availability. Their cocktails are amazing. I loved the “Armenian Quarter”.Shoutout to Sofia who was such a friendly host and recommend me great food and cocktails.
Extremely good food and super-friendly service! We were a big company of 10, but still they mad place for us all :-we just kept ordering and ordering, loevely!I have eaten a lot of hoummus & Pita in my days, but the one at Bekitzer was without doubt by far the beat I ever had. Wow thank you!
It’s such a ridiculous place and a rip-off . The food portions are small, it took them a while to cook my food. The staff is soooo rude, I don’t know how they work with people, the manager is rude and she didn’t wanted to listen to me, when I had an issue with my order. I wish the cops would raid this place and it would get closed. They have nothing Jewish there, except for some food and like signs on the walls and that’s it. Seriously, this place is ridiculous.
Incredible place! Came in for the first time this past Friday. Ordered the Jerusalem Mix plate and Matzah Pizza. Both were delicious. Also got the cider on tap and its very well rounded between sweet and tangy. The bar-men I talked to were great. My Russian is low level but it was easy to communicate with staff. One bartender introduced me to a homemade shot with cream and vodka. Best shot Ive had in years. Solid menu in both Russian & English. Great variety and quality.
As an Israeli that came here on vacation, i approve of the food! It was excellent, the place was lively and felt like a Tel Aviv hummus joint mixed with a bar, usually its this or that, but here you enjoy both worlds :)It was fun and funny seeing the names of food items in Russian , gives the food exoticism and for the locals ( which fill this place! Its unique.Bekitzer grants you great tastes of Israel, without the 4 hour flight and half the prices of Israel.
I visited St Pete with family and I was told that shawarma is a must-eat in the city. All my restaurant searches led to this place, so our expectations were high. The experience was poor and the food is bellow average. The pita bread is worse than anything you can buy in the supermarket and if the pita is bad, nothing works. The falafel and hummus were just okay and everything else was well bellow average.I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.I think that the high rating is the result of aggressive marketing, definitely does not reflect the quality of food or service.
Open until like 6am on a Monday. It was the perfect place to end a night out on the town. I was with a couple from Moscow so I dont know how proficient the staff is with English but the food and drink selections here seemed really good. I had the Belgian cherry beer and it was fantastic.
I had a dinner with bunch of friends. The place was recommended by our colleagues. Honestly I dont understand why there is a big vibe about that restaurant: the food was OK, but nothing spectacular. The sizes of the dishes were very small, compared to the prices. I wouldnt recommend it to others
Love the vibe of this place, but falafel is a bit dry and babaganoush is too smoked, I think they add a bit too much smoke liquid to it. Hummuss is right on point though
Amazing staff, great food and cocktails! ✨
Best lamb briyani in Russia! In St Petersburg! Great cocktails! Great bar! The lamb briyani , lamb was tender and rice was flavourful. Falafel was delicious!
Good food, nice drinks, friendly staff. A great place to hang out.
Awful exporience. Terrible service. We were waiting for our food for 30 minutes, were ignored when called the waiter, on the second attempt he said 10 more minutes and just placed the order for the kitchen at that time without any word of explanation or apologizing. After the next 15 minutes the waiter threw my order like a dog food, but my fiance never got her order, we left paying the full bill. Noone ever apologized for the mess, the portions were tiny and the food was bearable at best. The waiters barely spoke any english. They didnt even get the water right, we ordered still and got sparkling. Abolute disappointment.
Very atmospheric, funky and stylish place. Great vibe! Extremely professional staff. Delicious meat and falafel wraps. Inside and outside sitting areas. We had a marvellous experience 🤗
Probably one of the best places I went to in St Petersburg and Russia! It’s very authentic and delicious Israeli food! Get the no 2 starter and a falafel sandwich! So good and the crowd was very fun inside!
This place is bumpin’. If you like falafel and other Israeli dishes, check this place out!!! We had a shakshuka on hummus, it was delicious! The shawarma was decent too.
The best falafel that I have ever had. Amazing. Loads of fresh juices.
Trendy, funky place. A bit loft style. Huge list of of my favourite single malt whiskeys. Kitchen clearly stands out from many other in the neighbourhood, as it is Israeli-Arabic. Wonderful. First impression, when you enter: you smell the spices and see happy people. Lovely place!
Great place with amazing food. The staff is wonderful and made us feel welcome even though we were just there for lunch. Good place to bring a five year old as well which was appreciated. Interior was hip and comfortable.
Nice food, superb atmosphere and good prices. 100% must go.
the food is AMAZING, every time I just cannot believe that shwarma can be THIS tasty. the atmosphere is nice as well, the place is full almost all the time and it gives you undescribable vibe that makes you wanna go there again and again. love!
Outstanding Israeli food that was one of the highlights of our trip. Great atmosphere and lovely surroundings.Make sure you order a few dishes as theyre quite small.
They are known as Social. Lamb and rice to die for. Nice friendly staff. Offered us complimentary shots when one of patron mistakenly dropped ketchup in our table.
I ordered shawarma to take out. When i reached home, it was falafel and i dont like falafel. I called at the given number, nobody picked. So The next day i arrived and complained them. They said, They cant do anything. Pathetic customer service.
Amazing Jewish food and drinks in a stylish location. The prices are low and the service is really friendly.
Fantastic place to get breakfast/lunch, two days in a row. Great playlist and attentive waiting staff. Very affordable, quick and downright delicious. I highly recommend the homemade lemonade!
The menu, the drinks, the atmosphere.... this place has it going on. It’s got it all. It’s a must for me personally every time I’m in Petrograd. A bit noisy in a good way. The place isn’t short on character in any capacity. Don’t be afraid to tell the waiters to surprise you. Ask about the nastoyka.
The food was perfectWorkers are good tooThe barman made me a mojito that was anything but a mojito but he sayed before that its not in the menu but hell do it.In total if you wont order mojito😛 the place is perfect.
Nice Israeli place in St. Petersburg. Israeli food and beer, nice music.Great place overall
Cute place. Loved the falafels, the set menu 1 was just ok. Red wine is expensive and not awesome.
Great place, nice Israely menu.Staff very friendly.Good experience, recommend full heatedly.
What a wonderful place! It has an Eclectic, Bohemian feel and the people are extremely friendly!
Cafe of Jewish cuisine with characteristic atmosphere. Best place on five corners area. 👌
Prices are very high, shawarma is tiny for the price you pay. Cocktails are tasty, but wine and beer choices are very limited. Usually very crowded.
Amazing staff, great middle east kind of food. Very well located.
Shawarma is too small for the price they ask (1/2 size of the normal shawarma small). On the other hand, the place is somewhat unique in St Petersburg and can be recommended for drinks.
The idea of this place is cool. BUT it has so many CANT-imagine things which is unbelievable for nowadays restaurant business in St Pete. The place is a kind of must visit on Rubinsheina str. so its here you can find many tourists and hipsters. Very loud and overcrowded during summer and weekends in low season.Ive been here 4 times and all the time spent from 30 to 45 min to get my food. They got interesting menu - its all about Israel but honestly once you try, you ll see that many things are not as tasty as described in menu. The restroom is untidy! Finally once you lucky to catch a waiter your next step will be WAIT for a food and ask for it from 2 to 5 times. They got a blond waiter who has not even a knowledge how to be a waiter and how to serve in polite manner. He was absolutely IMPOLITE and answered in rude way. Is it some kind of new concept when you pay and have to listen bad comments and reaction from staff once you asking common questions? My last drop of patience is over - I will NEVER visit it again. You guys have to think about your guests and service!
