Iconic building at the heart of Manama. It literally means “the house of Quran”. Quran is the holy book of Muslims which literally means recitation. Muslims believe that Quran is the word of the Creator of the universe as dictated to Mohamed by the archangel Gabriel which was written down and compiled in a book. In the building they have some old copies of Quran dating back to the first century when it was revealed. It consists of a beautiful small mosque. If you visit in the evening you might get the chance to listen to the Quran being recited by the Imam(person leading people in salah - Islamic ritual worship for the reverence of the Creator performed 5 set times during the day and night -in a melodious way. Definitely a must for everyone who is interested in learning new things!

A beautiful place to visit only drawback is the lighting (I am not an expert but maybe they would have given that sort of lightning to avoid damage to the rare old scriptures which are available there and if thats the reason am sorry for saying that light is the drawbackvery spacious exhibit and aesthetically arranged a must visit in the Kingdom of Bahrain!

Very unprofessional and rude receptionist. He will force you to make a donations although it is out of ones choice to make donations. This has been happening for atleast 2 years. I think the management should look into this matter seriously as it is not only affecting the reputation of the great place but also the country itself. The place as such is wonderful with good collection of old Quran manuscripts. Although it seems it is not maintained properly. Toilets are extremely degraded.

The place is very cosy and not very big. You can finish it in under 30 minutes depending on how detailed you want to be. It has a vast collection of Qurans from the very early 1st century of Islam up to modern copies. Dont miss it. Admission is free and donations are welcomed. The museum has a mosque attached to it. The only reason I gave it four stars because it does not have any interactive exhibits, also, you cant see any staff, most probably because the admission is free and they dont have enough funds.

But does not offer the (jummahfriday prayers. The place also undertakes proper hygienic measures at all times..and it does not have a womens section for prayers..

It is a Quran museum that shows quranic manuscript of all ages and as old as 7th century AD. We have seen different styles of manuscript, all are very beautiful, few verses are written on stones also. Gallery is also very beautiful. We have seen a Pakistani masterpiece, a verse written on a rice seed, that can only be seen with the help of microscope.

What they have in there in terms of history is amazing, and the building structurally is beautiful. It would have been useful to have more information on the history of the artefacts, however, and the interior was very dimly lit and felt a bit dated. Highly recommend a visit, regardless!
