Is one of the those bars where music is too loud and you have to be yelling across the table. If you are into such places, then this is for you. It is packed on a Sat night.

Hands down best bar in Kathmandu.

Incredibly must visit place while you are in Thamel, Kathmandu. Environment was buzzing with local and overseas folks even till late night. Place was tiny but lively and cozy. Hates of to the owner, a mideval lady bartender. She can pour and serve, she can make cheques, manage staffs at the mean time can make a drink for herself as well. Really fascinating experience.

Its a true Bar. If you want to go to Bar and grab a beer like in Europe go there.

Sams Bar is a great place in Thamel, Kathmandu. Vibrant environment. Indoor and outdoor seating both are cozy. Smoking is allowed here. The staff is really well behaved and welcoming.They have local and imported drinks. The happy hour rates are applied only on the local options.

Cozy place. Welcoming and well behaved staff. The walls are full with small remarks that are funny at times, and definitely a mood warmer. They have happy hour discount only on local products. Complimentary popcorn was a good gesture as well. Liked the place.

A good place to have some beer while listening to music. The page is in the heart of Themal and it offers a variety of drinks, to be taken on the terrace.Prices are a bit higher, oriented at tourist prices. Nevertheless, it is a good and friendly place to relax and to have a beer in a good atmosphere.The surrounding is calm and almost quiet from the regular noice of the city.

Little hole for drinks and a great time. They offer free popcorns/chips with drinks. No food. A place to meet people from different walks of life. Listen, share stories and simply enjoy the vibe. Go with friends or without to make new ones. They have a pet dog wholl join you at times, if youre lucky :)

Its a good fun place to hangout for drinks. They dont serve food but they do have chips and popcorn. The prices for drinks are reasonable. Smoking allowed. The bar has a patio style and open so for non smokers like me. The smoke didnt bother that much

Great bar. The owner who works the bar is a gem, and the bar is often full with really lovely and interesting people. I went here on my own a few times and always had a great time.

Nice laid back vibe and reggae tunes. Word of warning for the 95% of the population that do not smoke, this place is tiny with no ventilation so you will get smoked out. If you smoke then this place will be heaven for you!

Wow... loved this place...the vibe is totally different from any other bars or pubs in town...you can stand in a corner of this place(coz its small and mostly denseand talk to your buddies or new people for hours. Yeah...come here to make new friends...talk to people...enjoy your drinks. Would never get tired of visiting here over and over.

Such an awesome ambience and feeling of the warmth of fire sitting with others in a patio like area. We tried a couple of cocktails which were ok. Id suggest ordering normal easy to get drinks.

Fireplace located inside to keep you warm in the winter season. The atmosphere makes it an excellent place for a night cap or to socialize with friends. The drinks are reasonably priced. Id recommend sticking to easy drinks to make and not getting too fancy of a cocktail.

Place to drink and hangout. We went to this place before starting our trek to ABC, we had couple of drinks and they were celebrating Halloween party. So overall, it was great and crowded also the people we met were so happening. we enjoyed our time at this place.

Probably one of the most ‘lit’ place in Kathmandu. Good music, good interior and good vibes overall. Love the decor on the walls - funny writings and quotes all over. Highly recommended for tourists to drop by.

Our favorite place for a chilled out evening. A great bar - no food or wifi so you have to talk to each other. Met many great people from all over the world. Locals, expats and trekkers all hang out together. Music is the soundtrack of your life. V is a wonderful host with a very efficient team. So good you dont want to leave!

Proper bar this. Went once and had some whiskey, beer and loads of chips. Got wasted LOL. The staff are polite, the bartender is really awesome. However, be careful of old drunk peeps, they kinda like to start things.

Sams bar is a awesome place to have drinks of any kind either be beer, whiskey or mocktails. Sams bar is a proper bar they only serve drinks you can also get some popcorn and chips thats it for chewing something. Ambience is very nice and the people going to Sams bar are awesome.

Great vib! Really chilled, comfy. Has an apre ski lodge type feel to it. Defiantly head here for a night booze

Very cosy bar in the middle of madness. Very cool ambiance and nice cocktail menu for happy hours but the only dowm side is that they do not habe free wifi service. However you can log onto a networl called free linksys link which will give you a 90min free access

A very casual bar for tourists and locals alike. Cheap drinks, friendly servers and lots of opportunity to meet new people. If youre visiting and looking to connect with people the bartender is an Expat happy to make an introduction. Ive been there almost every night Ive been in Thamel.
