Pub-style chain serving up a menu of grilled meats and international favourites such as fajitas.
Standard beefeater pub. Service and food all fine. Staying here alot with work and is doing the job being away from home
Lovely spacious pub have eaten here many times over the years The food is always great & good beer on the pump with a nice selection to offer. It has a big car park so plenty of spaces available, along with being a pub & restaurant its also a hotel decent location for travel. Staff are always polite and helpful.
Fairly fast service and food well cooked.Very enjoyable and would go again
The restaurant was extremely busy and they didnt have enough staff on .Ordeing, drinks and food were very slow in arriving.Which wasnt a problem to us as we were a group of friends who were having a wonderful catch up.Food was delicious had beef burger with prawns.
Great atmosphere. Staff always helpful. The food is hot and very tasty with a great variety of choices. Highly recommend.
A ruined birthday treat for my mum. Leaving me sad and disappointed after what was surprised to be a treat.- Booked in for 3pm- Seated at 3:30pm- Advised no Ultimate Sunday Roast available- 5 minutes later when served then no roast dinners available.- Annoying because they were available when we were both to be seated, and during our tiny meal, large roast dinners were still being served to nearby tables. After eating the meal, I left hungry and needing to buy another meal elsewhere.
Bad service. Items were missing off plates, had to keep asking. One person did not get the correct meal. Therefore we were nearly finished when he got his.
The place felt grubby. Food was poor to average and i didnt think restaurants served tinned sweet corn. The place was not very inviting. We were booked for a Sunday evening and the place looked like a bomb had gone off.We are local and used the restaurants many times but this experience was not very good.
I had the pleasure of enjoying both breakfast and dinner at this wonderful establishment over a two day period. The food was outstanding, complemented by the wonderful, professional service delivered by the front of house waiting staff. Clean and hygienic within with more than efficient and well trained staff makes this a place to recommend to all.David
My sister was served cold mushy peas which were replaced. Otherwise all was good. Terry.
Came here and had the 2 course for 9.45 was worth it food tasted good and had prompt service
Was hard to get booked in for a table but the food was good. I’ve been here many times and it’s consistent. There was a deal on for buy one get one free burgers which was decent. There are a great selection of side dishes and drinks. Unfortunately it was too late for us to want deserts on this occasion but there are a decent selection available to choose from
Have always had a good experience at the haywain but not today. My daughter wanted a plain burger. The waitress confirmed just the burger in a bun. Yes she said. The burger was brought up with everything on it. The manager brought the food up and when I pointed out she wanted a plain burger she said you ordered this. Yes we did but plain! She just walked off with it no apology nothing. My chips were luke warm and loads of bottom of the fryer bits. Will not be returning. Shame but better restaurants to spend my money in
Went for dinner for the half price burgers offer 5-7pm theyre running at the moment. Was value for money, food was nice, the coleslaw has more mayonnaise than limp bits of veg its mixed with. Apart from that, the meals were ok. I wouldnt like to pay full price for the offering. We had desserts too, microwaved crumble and custard as it was literally on our table in 1 minute nuclear hot. If you want a cheap early dinner and dont expect quality, then this is ok!
Great food, really quick service, and really attentive server, we had the steak and it was grilled to perfection, will definitely be going back. SUPERB 🍽
It was a Friday lunchtime. A fairly busy service and the staff were friendly, attentive an helpful. My sister has a dairy allergy and they made sure not to provide anything that she could not eat.Busy but the best Beefeater I have been to for some time.Well done to all. Standards are still high and I am happy to recommend.
Have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Today had a drink outside in the beautiful evening sun. Great outdoor area for dining or drinking
Absolutely first class breakfast and first class service.Hot breakfast was cooked exactly how I wanted.Fully recommend having breakfast here.
Been there 8 years ago and was very disapointed. I thought id gave it another try now since my boyfriend never tried them ... unfortunately the same outcome. I ordered ribs but the meat was as dry as the bones, asked for cheesy chips and got a cheesy soup chips. The cheese looked like a gloopy melt of something plasticy sort of thing. He ordered a rump steak, blue cheese and chips but ended with a small filet instead and some cold cheese in a pot, nothing to do with a blue cheese.Thought the drinks might be the saving grace... that didnt play out either. All in all, we are safe to say we wont be going there again.
Really good comfortable bed, and very clean rooms... the breakfast is great and plenty of it for a good price. we love it there. Very pleasant staff also.
2021 Good food. Well run hostelry given the current Covid restrictions. Will definitely return after Freedom day*Returned July 2022*...very disappointing breakfast. After booking, being seated late we were trying to give our breakfast order in and was given short shrift as it wasnt our turn. When waitress returned later to take our order she was much pleasanter and explained there were only 3 of them on. We assumed/asked if it was staff sickness but NO it was all they were allowed and the place was totally rammed. So it was Beefeaters fault rather than poor quality staff. The quality of the breakfast food was pretty poor and only tepid too.
Came here the other day for a quick lunch outside in the nice weather and was pretty disappointed in all the food. I ordered a cobb salad which said it would have avocado and other ingredients in it, but it was missing a few. Pretty basic salad. I then ordered the banoffee waffle sundae which is supposed to have a warm waffle but the waffle was as cold as the ice cream lol. I had an iced caramel latte which tasted exactly like the iced caramel lattes you buy from Aldi just with whipped cream on top 🤣The outside seating area is nice in the sun which is the only reason for the 3 stars.
Lovely meals, we had the Sunday roast, all the meats cooked very well, nice vegetables, potatoes and a fluffy Yorkshire pudding, excellent.
Went for lunch for me and my partners anniversary. We ordered off the lunch menu beer battered haddock and gammon. Both of them were exceptional! Honestly delicious and would go there again in a heartbeat. Was the perfect meal for a perfect day! Oh and thanks again to Abigail, lovely service, refilled our drinks without asking, lovely women. Brilliant!! 20/10 service and food.
Pretty disappointing that an unlimited cooked breakfast had a supply issue with 2 of the items on the menu. One of which being sausages and therefore had none for anyone on Sunday morning (3/7/22). Yet you still get charged full price - rubbish!
The food was good although I ordered a Strongbow Dark Berry cider. When it arrived it was a Strongbow rose cider in a bottle. When I queried it I was told that was all they did. I feel I could have been told this as I ordered and given the choice to change my order. Other than that we had a great evening.
Food was terrible , staff where pleasant though, but didnt go there for pleasantries so overall, poor food ok atmosphere, £15 for a burger and chips , definitely not worth it giving the poor quality of food .
Had a late lunch at the outside seating in the afternoon sun. Both ate from the main menu to benefit from a discount voucher. I had the spinach & ricotta cannelloni with fries & garlic flatbread, absolutely gorgeous! So creamy & tasty & decent portions. My partner had rump steak & fries, all thoroughly enjoyed. Shared a tasty brownie with icecream for dessert too. Great service & would totally recommend this place.
Beautiful time there, our foods was excellent, it was our first time visiting that part of the area. Staffs was helpful and friendly. 💥
I cant fault the staff as the waitress was very good but the food is terrible I had to return the rock hard breaded mushrooms and the steak sandwich was very bland and not very nice to eat along with the cold chips....Its a shame but I wont be returning after that bad experience.
Absolutely shocking service! Seated and neglected. Everyone around us were being served. Table reserved for 9am. 10.10 still no food! Food was average, I’ve complained, in the waitress defence, she was trying to hurry the chef but shocking poor service! We won’t be returning!
Went here with my wife for the lunch time menu.2 courses for 9.45.We both had a steak, and then pudding.Absolute bargain! Tasted good, and our waitress was really friendly, and happy.
Lovely meal, good food, lovely waitress, only reason I havent given 5☆, they had run out of some foods, so not all options available.
It was ment to be a special birthday meal.I ordered fillet steak as well as jacket potato.Only to be told Dont cook jacket potatoes.Only chips. Thick or thin .I chose thin but they were frozen chips. Half tomatoe was not cooked at all. Mushroom was full of water. My plate was cold my meal should have been soft juicy instead it was burnt shoe leather. My husband ordered Steak and Ale pie.Which was a pukka. Pie which he could have got from any chip shop.I did not complain because it took 35mins to get that meal and I was really disappointed and just wanted to go home.If you want a special meal Dont choose a Beefeater .
Excellent food & services. Great value for money
Food was good, staff friendly.A busy place only thing was not keen on the seating right under the aircon which was very cold and next to a very busy aisle!
Popped in for lunch and used the 2 meals for £9.95 menu. Had an 8oz steak, upgraded to sirloin (+£1.95and it was excellent. Cooked just right, tasty and with good fat chips. Couldnt fault it.Desert of strawbs & ice-cream. Strawbs chunks were too large for the tiny bowl, looked a bit tired but were tasty.
Stayed overnight and had prebooked breakfast for the following morning. The hot breakfast was not all that, the bacon had no taste and the sausages tasted weird.Next time we wont prebook breakfast and will go to a decent cafe
Went there for a business meeting, so drinks only. Needed the loo, but noticed the brass handles to the door were absolutely filthy. The middle part of the handles were well worn, but above and below the handle were thick with dirt in fact a bio hazard.
I was staying in the Premier Inn next door, I stay in these places all over the country for my work and use the attached restaurants so I would say I have a good handle on what makes a good one, I do have to say that this particular prem Inn and beefeater are way up the list in my top 10. The rooms were quite and the food and service in the restaurant was excellent. I would have no problem recommending this place.
Lovely staff, excellent value lunch 2/3 courses £9/£11. Good choices, great size portions. Recommend
A great place to take all the family. Plenty of room. The staff were very polite and helpful and the food was excellent. We have just found another great place to eat. Plus we get the 40% off vouchers in our email, which helps.
Seated straight away at a nice table. Waitress was attentive and welcoming taking our drinks orders and giving us time to chat and look at the menu. Food came out hot and well cooked. Had only a childs ice cream for dessert as was full from the meal. I would recommend this place especially due to the staff.
My son and myself had steak which was very good and cooked to perfection as per our order. My wife had a vegetarian dish (yes I know Beefeaterwhich she said was very good. Service was a little slow, but it was New Years eve, so not a problem, staff were friendly and helpful.
The waitress was lovely and very sorry full to customers. While we were there I witnessed two meals returned for being cold. The only thing hot on my plate was the sweet potato fries. My partners however was hot.For the money I would suggest four seasons for lunch, which is about a mile and a half away. From where I was seated I saw cooked meals sitting under heat lamps way to long.
I Ordered a stake for lunch and was told that they had run out of the malbec sauce. Which was ok so I had a beef dripping sauce. When it turned up I was extremely disappointed. The stake looked under weight. There was no cheddar and caramelised onion brioche. When I complained I was told that they have run out so gave me a onion ring instead. I had a warm mushroom (not cookedand a 1/4 of tomato on some wilted lettuce leaf’s. The hole thing looked nothing like the picture and was very very poor the steak was cooked well but that’s all I could eat. I know they are now part of a big chain now. Miller and Carter Harvester Toby Carvery et cetera. I’ve noticed the Quality of all of them has gone downhill dramatically as they all use the same suppliers now. It’s such a same as I regularly use them all but have started to go elsewhere now as there’s so many other places out there that are so much more better.
The food was good atmosphere was good despite the social distancing and the staff friendly and cheerful.
Booked for 6.30pm absolutely rammed. Must have been 100 plus people there all well protected. Food was ok 7out of 10
Went here for a meal with my partner and my daughter food was very nice and well cooked. Nice atmosphere. They doing special Christmas kids menu where get meal dessert for £6.99 with a free colouring. The colouring book is like a storybook colouring book. My daughter was well happy.
The other meals were ok but I have the seafood pasta dish.I have not before had a pasta meal that I could actually see the bottom of the dish because so little pasta was there. The seafood consisted of two small prawns a tiny piece of white fish and two half inch cubes of salmon.I questioned the waitress above the portion size and was told that was it. I could exchange my meal for another, but this was not an option due to time.I dont think I will be returning. Photo attached shows my. Meal after two mouthfuls.
