Today we had lunch in your dining area attached to the pub, 4 of us. It was good but I would like to mention the following, we live in Amersham our friends in Northampton.Waitress and service excellent.Very sticky tableThe roast needed more gravy and vegSticky toffee pudding not goodCoffee cups could be larger. No Gordons gin or Schweppes tonic and sadly I dont like gin in a fish bowl.Linda Flett
The best roast Ive had in ages. Superb service from Phoebe. Highly recommended.
We recently celebrated my mothers 90th birthday here and the outstanding service, care and attention we received completely exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and the venue situated in a stunning location. I highly recommend a visit and shall return soon myself.
Had lunch with friends sitting out in the garden. Great location, helpful friendly service.
Great location for a family get together! We had a lovely Sunday lunch, the food and service was amazing. The only issue we had was that our desserts came out cold, but the staff rectified this problem as quickly as they could. We will definitely book again!
Really enjoying our stay at this super comfy hotel. Tasty food, good service and spacious rooms.
Held a surprise 40th Anniversary lunch in the private room at the front. I cannot praise the staff enough for everything they did for us. The food was excellent and all our guests said how good it was. Thank you.
Outstanding rural location. We had lunch at the Bedford Arms. Really good fish cakes. The hospitality was outstanding, so much so that we stayed for tea.
We stayed here for our wedding night and couldnt have been more disappointed. The room was lovely but my mum had dropped a box off decorations to the the hotel for the staff to put up as a surprise for us. When we arrived the box of decorations had been placed on the sideboard despite staff agreeing they would put these out. Staff were uninterested that it was our wedding day and made no fuss at all. We werent made to feel special and sadly when I did complain we never received an acknowledgement or apology. As a small family run business we expected more
Used to be a fantastic independently owned pub & restaurant. Unfortunately, a big brewery has taken over and lunch today confirmed the service and food standards have dropped considerably. It’s still a beautiful setting, fine for a drink, dog-friendly and the garden is great. But for the price there are now several better places to eat in the area.
Wedding party stayed in Bedford Arms 8th-9th September 2022. Very good staff who go out of their way to assist guests. Rooms are okay. However the breakfast is awful. No cooked breakfast during weekdays which guests are not informed when booking. Fruits served were rotten. Total shambles. Will not recommend to anyone.
Great food and service. The room we were in was spacious. Piped music, which was background.Clean toilet (male).Good amount of parking.
Drink with friends. Nice environment, friendly staff, nice selection of bees and wines. Stayed much longer than expected
Excellent food and attentive staff at a wake.
My wife and I were privileged to be invited to a very special gathering to celebrate the life of a lady. The Bedford Arms pulled out all of the stops and the staff were superb making it an afternoon to be remembered.
We generally visit for drinks in the summer evenings. A lovely location and venue. Although the drinks can be a tad on the expensive side we like to visit for the ambiance and experience!
Lovely dinner, decent beer, excellent service, great rooms. Would have liked a cooked breakfast but understand that its a pub with rooms rather than a hotel so cant really grumble! A fantastic place to stop overnight.
Had an awesome stay at the Bedford Arms. Very welcoming and grub was great too 👌 definitely see me again soon
Called in whilst on a walk. Not at all welcoming, ignored part of our order and we were the only ones in the bar.. A beautiful location, just let down by the service.
Stopped here for lunch halfway through the Chess Walk. Chicken kiev was really good (loads of butter!!and my friend seemed to love her Sunday roast. Friendly and attentive staff with a laid back restful vibe sitting outside and enjoying the afternoon sun. Also visited during covid for a drink, and was happy with all the measures they had taken then.
wonderful afternoon... beautiful location... food was plentiful and very tasty and the staff were wonderful
Arranged a birthday lunch for friends, fantastic experience, beautiful surroundings, excellent food and service.
Weve never stayed here but often come for lunch or dinner. It has a decent menu and the food is well prepared, tastes good and has decent portions. The garden, is large and a great place to hang out on a warm day
Great dog friendly pub in the idyll location of Chenies and a perfect pitstop if youre doing the Chess Valley walk. The service was slow (dont let this put you off!but this is an excellent pub, with lovely ambiance, outdoor seating and more importantly sumptuous food. We had the beef suet pie which was one of the most tastiest Ive ever had in the country, full of meat and filling and the chicken Kyiv, which was also pretty good. Do visit or even stay, youll definitely not be disappointed.
Food sounds better on menu. Mine was a bit overcooked. Friendly service. Lovely old fashioned hotel.
Very good food if a bit priceyFishcakes with poached egg excellentMaybe light lunch menu ?
Absolutely wonderful and relaxing venue, very old pub which brings a charming character, steady flow of customers, with management and staff are well organized.
It’s a very nice place and well run. I was disappointed to find that there was no cooked breakfast available (with no prior notice due staffing problems
Went there for coffee and it was very good even if served in tea cups. We looked at the menu which made us regret we could not stay. The list of dishes looked very mouth watering indeed and we plan to go back before long.We had a most embarrassing moment when distracted, we got up to leave having forgotten to pay! The person who had served us was both very good and charming about it as we were flustered by our mistake.
Family lunch. Very good food and excellent service. Im vegan and Tom the chance to to a Moving Mountains burger - I was impressed to see this at a country pub. Recommended
My dad had booked to stay for the weekend as we had a family celebration. Arrived at 8.15pm (not latecalled and knocked on the door for 30 minutes but no one there so he has been left with no where to stay overnight. Shocking service. Even if it was the case there was a need to cancel the booking why was he not informed?
My wife and I booked this hotel based on the location for our needs and the reviews it had. I can safely say that this hotel is 5 star in every aspect, customer service, food, comfort, room etc.if we are ever passing this way again we would definitely pop in for a meal or stay. Can’t recommend this place high enough.Thank you Bedford Arms!
I stayed for two nights last the week before last. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff were amazingly helpful. The staff were very sensitive to my requirements and I really appreciated their kindness. The hotel is very clean and has thorough systems with regard protecting guests from Covid. A great hotel.
I looked for a hotel to break a round trip from warrington to London, outside of the city itself. I opted for this beautiful country hotel, as it had great reviews online. Although I was aware the restaurant closed before I arrived I did go to a local pub which had great food a couple of mins walk away. The Bedford Arms is a charming old converted residence and has an great ambience to it. Rooms are quaint and very comfy and quiet. I like the fact its a little dated as it matches the style and feel. Huge bonus for me was the owner opened up breakfast early for me as I needed an early getaway. Had a good catchup on all things football as we supported the same team. Id recommend this hotel to families and especially those looking to visit Harry Potter as its only 15mins away. I will be definately stay again.
Went for lunch with my husband on 21/12. Not our first time here and it never disappoints. The food is lovely and very healthy portions! Friendly staff too. Would definitely recommended
Lovely place ,great customer service very friendly and helpful the room was great nice clean and comfortable plenty of space ,due to a busy day I decided to eat in my room and chose the Dijon mustard chicken breast with sautéed bacon+ sprouts fondant potato + chicken veloute and I must say tasted amazing really enjoyed it highly recommend if you pay a visit compliments to the chef+ staff. Many thanks.
Had a birthday lunch with another couple yesterday. Food was lovely and the service outstanding. Clare’s professionalism, friendliness and humour made the meal. Jason also looked after us really well later on.Thank you.
Jamie and Lisa welcomed us to their fantastic restored and refurbished hotel with some modern industrial touches and funky metal wood creations in the heart of the West Australian wheat belt town of Brookton. We experienced excellent customer service from all staff, fast free WiFi, a bar area, guest dining room, guest lounge and a beer garden. We were blessed to get the Family Room which had a Super Sized Double Bed and 2 Single Beds which meant we could spread out our gear for the two of us. The shared Bathrooms were tastefully renovated with quality fittings and features and plenty of hot water. We had a great sleep on the super sized comfortable double bed the best on our self drive wildflower tour. The food was excellent and too much although we did manage to finish it all. We would definitely recommend the Bedford Arms Hotel to anyone heading to the Wheatbelt. Gordon & Jo Gudgeon, Shoalwater WA.
Three of us had lunch at this lovely inn/hotel. We had a dog, and they were happy to accomodate us with a table in a sheltered "tent" in the garden, which was perfect. I had the fishcakes, which were delicious and one of us had the lamb roast. It was pricey, but also good. A lovely lady named Jane took care of us, and came back twice to see if we needed anything. Excellent service- it is always nice to have someone check if our meals were going well. She (Janeand another colleague, Amy, are a friendly and efficient plus to the inn.
Beautiful hotel and rooms were classically comfortable. Food was nice but staff were a little strange. Its like theyd never met outsiders before
A wonderful hotel just outside of London (but still really accessible by tubewhich had a lot of charm; the inside was lovely and full of touches and nooks to make it feel warm and welcoming. Loved the outside too, a nice little truck and great value for lunch. Got a burger which came with two patties (!!And a huge bowl of fries. Highly recommend.
Lovely place, food is top quality, good selection of beers and wines. This is a good place for a small wedding say thirty to forty people, every part of the wedding is catered for.
Been to this venue before, this is why my niece pick it again for her mums wake. However we were not able to gather and eat in the garden as she requested, very disappointing, and she was quite upset. Instead we we’re ushered to the front of the pub. The tables were full of rust and we were expected to eat food on them. The service and staff were good, but food average.
Absolutely Delicious food...... beautifully presented...... compliments to the Chef! Lovely building. Beautiful gardens. Plenty of parking. Friendly helpful polite staff. Covid clean. Sit inside or out. The garden cosies are great fun. Couldnt recommend more!
5 of us went for dinner last night and it was a real treat. Everyone was very pleased with their food and service was excellent. Great to be able to go out and have a relaxing evening with good food again.
What a shame. Stopped off for an evening drink and sat in the sunshine, asked for a glass of dry Prosecco and a beer. The Prosecco was a small bottle of warm, sweet Villa Sandi, served in a small short wine glass. At £9.25 not what you’d expect at a decent hotel. The waitress was friendly but new, and didn’t really understand why we were disappointed. The other serving staff seemed less interested.
Booked a late lunch and was thrilled to see ‘Sunday Lunch’ available even though it was a bank holiday Monday... wish we hadn’t bothered as it was clearly left over from Sunday and just warmed up in a microwave! 2 slabs of brown beef covered in ridiculously salty gravy - roast potatoes were so tough they were hard to chew! Sent it back and ordered 2 burgers instead which took over half hour to arrive. In the meanwhile 2 glasses of wine were dropped by a waitress passing, showering my mother and daughter in glass and wine... no apology given by staff and even had to ask them to sweep up glass under our feet. We shan’t be returning and I shall be cancelling my Christmas booking.
Fish & chips & steak were lovely. Onion rings to die for!!!6 of us were in a gazebo with sheepskin rugs & blankets. All very good.Only downside was waiter left one of our guests off the order, so he had to wait longer for his meal. Apparently waiter was new to the job. We forgave him!!Sticky toffee pudding also delicious.
My brother had his covid friendly wedding reception here on Saturday and it was SUPERB! The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much for them, the food was really good!we stayed in the hotel as well and the room was lovely with a really comfortable bed.I will definitely be staying here again.
Stayed with my daughter for three nights whilst at a golf competition. Lovely rooms and great food. The warm welcome from the attentive and helpful staff really stood out though and made this hotel a real home from home.
