350-acre park with nature trails, river cruises and red deer, plus a number of rare birds. No dogs.
Absolutely brilliant day out, we went in November and there is still plenty of fun, animals of all sizes to see, plus the nocturnal area, birds and natural British wildlife and nature areas. Our Grandson had a blast in the play areas too, great places for drinks and food from the two mobile vans which are in place as the on-site café is closed for the winter. All the coffees are quality and hot chocolate, the food van (of which there is a photo ofserves a terrific full on burger, skin on fries, Grandson had the huge hotdog and loved it. All in all a great day in late autumn and in summer is a whole different day out too.
Amazing experience for kids and adults. Everything you need for a complete day out. Lots of animals to see, kids play areas including a huge inflated pillow to jump around, miniature railway, all included in a reasonable entry price. Way better than other hectic zoos. Meercats we miss you!
Very well laid out for children who can run around and play safely. Loved the refreshed displays of animals and birds
A lovely little wildlife park, a place to go and have a walk just for the points of interest all around. Kids love it, there is plenty for them to do and see and they can even have a train ride around the perimeter of the park. Then you realise that there is lots more that you havent seen and so you go for a walk to find them. I met up with family there, and 4 hours went by in a flash.I would highly recommend.
Great for our 6 and 3 year old. Good range of animals. A train to ride on around the park. A good size play area for all ages and even a paddling pool for the summer. Expensive for a single visit but good value as a membership for the year.
We went with the grandchildren on Saturday the 3rd September 2022. We went to have something to eat and the food was absolutely fantastic, the chicken chunks were real chicken, organic food. Well recommended. We would like to get there the two of us for the food! The staff were very pleasant people too. Thank you!
A really pleasant day looking at the animals. A great place for children with so many play areas. My son would have loved it when he was little. Hes now in his 20s so probably not appropriate to take him 😊
Lovely day out grandchildren really enjoyed it plenty to see and do. We spent time at the pool area with alot of grass area to sit not enough tables or parasols cant see the children through the fence so would be ideal for more seating along the pool area and a raised platform along fence with tables and more parasols. Kids love that area just got to hot with not enough shade. Other than that value for money
Great day out for young kids with different animals to see, lots of picnic benches and several different ice cream shops/vans on site. Would recommend to others with small children. 5/5 we will visit again.
Absolutely stunning park. The floral and fauna were both spectacular. The staff on entry were really polite and friendly. My toddler loved the little train ride. The site has a few lovely eateries and picnic areas. I especially loved the Japanese Garden and the beautiful parrots. Wil definitely visit again soon.
We had a lot of fun today. Lots of animals to see, they seem to be well taken care of. We got to see the feeding of the Lemurs, Meerkats and Lynx. The train ride was fun too. The staff/volunteers around the park were also really friendly and helpful. The splash pool was clean, there is loads to keep children entertained all day.
Being as not as able bodied as some ( I use a cane and I have to stop and rest quite a bit, Beale catered for it all. Plenty of rest stops, picnic benches, seating all around. Staff pleasant and polite. Took my 2 grandsons just under one years old, just enough animals to keep them interested. Definitely visiting again.
I was pleasantly surprised with what was on offer here. The children enjoyed themselves immensely. The paddling pool was very popular - with picnic tables and umbrellas available. Lots of open areas to sit in - some in quieter areas so consider taking your own chair, although it appeared there might be deck chairs to hire. Nice clean site too. Well thought out. This was my first visit but Im sure Ill be returning.
It’s quite a nice park. Kids will love it. Lot’s to do and see. A lot of cafés and restaurants on site too. As well as an indoor picnic area. Nice spots to picnic outdoors too. Friendly staff. A number of public conveniences placed on site so no need to walk all the way back to the main entrance. Animal interactions available at an extra cost which the old and young alike will enjoy e.g., feeding lemurs. No such thing as King Julian! Apparently there is an alpha female! Parking on site at no extra cost. Quite a drive to get out. Allow extra time to get to car and exit come closing time. Overall cleanliness is maintained. Marked down one star for cost. Found a Group On online which was half the cost!
Been here a few times and everytime weve had a great relaxing day, pool is nice and clean, animals well looked after, good selection of food in the restaurant.
Excellent for ALL ages very well maintained, clean, and lots to do.
Absolutely wonderful for a day out, especially if you have younger children. There is lots of cute animals to go and see!
Love the experience, so much to offer well worth the visit.
We were stay within 30 minutes drive of Beale with family. We needed something to do with two kids 5 and 9.A Google search came up with some idea and we liked the look of Beale.Very easy to find with Google maps On!!Lovely walks around Nice ponds and paddocks with interesting animals around every corner. Both kids loved it as did the adults.Met a lovely lady near the end making balloon animals."Twistina" was her name and I think she was only there for the weekend. Very nice to talk to and interacted well with not just our children but all the kids that were there as we queued.
My friend and I went to explore the park as an activity for our 1.5 year old daughters and we were pleasantly surprised by the facilities, beautiful gardens, lido, cafés, playground, animals and wonderful little safari train so we spent a whole day there and immediately signed up for annual membership. Since then weve spent every Friday there from open to close and our kids love it(!Its a perfect place to bring your toddler, everything is convenient. Coffee is great ! Little soft play indoor area was perfect when there are short showers, many peacocks, ducks and guinefauls roaming freely adding to pieceful and pleasant environment.
Extremely unsatisfied with the customer experience. The scenery as a scenery is great but... We should had been informed that in case of high temperature, the park isnt designed to let the animals feel comfortable in any way, as a result, we got there, having paid the whole price of our tickets and we saw only 4 animals because of the heat! Of course the poor animals tried to stay away from the sun and the heat, but we paid to see them and no one informed us that under such circumstances, we wouldnt see anything! A business must protect its customers and not let them pay without getting anything back. Unforgivable and unforgettable. I am sure that under normal temperatures it must be great to visit this place, but unfortunately we had to be the customers who saw how this business really treats its people.
Many years since we visited and the park has changed out of all recognition. Wide range of animals in spacious enclosures. Talks by the keepers were good and informative.
Very friendly, family orientated park. Some areas are a little tired but there is lots to do and it is great value for money. I went on my own with my toddler and it was brilliant for his age. He loved the train and there were lots of options for play from the bouncy cushion, to the playgrounds to the paddling pool and sandpit. I really appreciated the enclosed play area with little tykes slides and houses as I could let him be a bit freer!
Took my 18month old and she loved it. Lots of safe walking and animals. She loved the train and the playgrounds. She was knackered after. Waiting till shes a bit older to be able to take part in the other experiences. We will be coming back was a great family day.
Lovely park. The gardens were lovely and well-maintained. Very clean. Shame there were no recycling bins. Staff all very friendly and reasonable prices.
Quiet maybe due to heat of day plenty to see variety of animals and play areas plus pool for children but shame not a walk in slope style. Train ride and cafe
Visited for the first time. We had a fantastic day. Lots to see and do. Beautiful lakes and gardens. 2 year old really enjoyed the bouncy pillow and the train which was no additional cost. Will definitely be taking a towel next door for the outfoor pool. Food was a little pricey but arrived quickly and very tasty 🙂
A lovely park to walk about on a warm sunny day. We had lunch in the Honesty Cafe which is a definite improvement on the Peacock Restaurant. Plenty of places to sit on a bench away from the crowds and enjoy a picnic as well if youd want to have a cheaper day out.
Brilliant day out, got everything, little train ride, zoo, farm yard, Gardens, Cafe, Restaurant. Fairly flat location and good disabled access around Beale Park.
Our kids favourite park in Reading. Lots to do and see with a mini train ride as well.
Amazing kid friendly place with loads of animals and loads of adventure playgrounds for the kids to burn energy on.Food is bad and service is slow they could get a decent cafe there and different food trucks. And the train driver is a grumpy fart. Season tickets are super expensive and not worth it unless you live nearby.
Amazing place to see cute animals in the Oxfordshire area. Maybe not as big as some of the more well know park, but its well worth a visit. You also get a free train ride of the park, which is cute. Also highly recommend trying out one of the animal experiences, it was a highlight of the visit!
Lots to do for the family. Really great and affordable day out. Nice little zoo area
Lovely park and scenery. Food and drinks are a bit pricey.
I will never visit again, we had a very bad experience. While leaving the park it was closing time and while walking back the big green main entrance gate was closed and there was no way out for pedestrians. We then headed back to car park but unfortunately there was no nearby exit, and one of the staff member told us the main gate is closed and it can’t be opened as it is controlled by timer. Finally along with my wife, baby we had to walk using the exit road made for cars. We had to walk more than 1.5 hours with the baby via Lower Basildon over A329.
A park like no other! Enjoyable for all ages and food prices in all ranges. The architecture and grounds are a thing of beauty to admire not to mention the animals and the roaming peacock! Its a day worthy experience and worth every penny of its ticket price. Entirely wheelchair accessible with lovely staff and tidbits of information on hand.
Really impressed, so much to see and do, not just for children but adults too!All well maintained, looked after and clean.Animals all seemed happy and had lots of space (I am not an expert of course just the view of a normal person). Information on all the animals easy to understand and pictures too for the little people.Play areas are fantastic, for all ages.Toilets clean and easy to access.
Definitely a nice Park, but not a complete "wildlife" park; no presence of crocodiles, lions etc., other animals there are cool though. But a wonderful place to have a full day of fun with the family.Lots of side attractions for kids (swimming pool, bouncing castle etc). If you want to enjoy and admire nature, this is the right place to go.
Brilliant for kids and adults. Cafe or picnic, even under cover picnic space!
Beautiful park! Lovely to see the animals. Everything is kept beautiful. Lovely day out for family. We had lovely weather.
Smallish wildlife park with nice ideas (lovely sculptures, nice pathwaysbut unfinished projects (closed areas without any signs of work, water fountain out of order, etc). Entering the park took way longer than anticipated, had to queue for about 15-20 minutes (despite we had pre-booked tickets), because they have not separated the pre-booked visitors queue from the queue for buying tickets at the gate. If you have a membership, you could enter quicker, though. The ponds would need some cleaning, but most importantly, some enclosures for the small and medium sized animal (meerkats, prairie dogs, porcupine, etclooked very small, and the animals were going around their enclosure wall looking down and sad (one of the meerkats even tried to dig through under the gate). Bigger animals like emus, ponies, zebras, etchad nice big pens, they were looking happier. The food options were okay, even though the prices were on the high side, waiting time for tables were not okay, though. Could be that we went there at the same time when everyone else did, but I found the waiting time a bit too long. The staff were super efficient though, and the waiting time for the food was alright actually, so as the food (with the exception of the children hamburger, which was only a bun and a burger patty, nothing else. Good thing that there were quite a selection of free sauces and condiments at our disposal to spice it up, but still.Overall, I must admit, this place didnt live up to my expectations (or rather having visited Birdworld a few times has raised the bar too high up).
Great place to go with the kids. There is a train ride, a large bouncy dome, plenty of animals, nice food, large play area with swings and slide and a small soft play probably aimed for under 5s. My only gripe is the mens toilets werent great. No lock on one and a huge gap in the other. Not great, especially when you have a medical condition. Old hand dryers as well. Needs improving!
Lovely day out with lots to do, kids loved it and staff were amazing especially the guy in the insect area, he really took his time explaining the different eggs, native snakes and insects he had. My son who has ADHD spent the longest time listening and asking questions
Very lovely wild life park. I 100% recommend. This was an alternative to going all the way to London Zoo and I wasn’t sure it would meet my expectations but it did. Free parking, friendly staff.
the place is nice and the idea is good. But I ran into problems: first of all I think it is too expensive for what it offers. After touring the park, you end up getting bored. It should also be a relaxing place, but its not because of the superhuman screams of thousands of children. Another problem is that it is not easily accessible. There are very few buses during the day (on Sundays not at alland therefore the cost of a taxi must be added to the already high cost of the ticket. Besides, the animals dont seem happy. Some are even in cages that are too small or alone.
Underwhelming to be honest. I especially enjoyed the stack of old pallets and the hole with a pair of gloves. This place is definitely a bit rough around the edges and needs a facelift. On the bright side my daughter enjoyed the train ride and the prices of food and drink didn’t require a remortgage.
Lovely place to spend the day. We decided not to take the train ride and walk everywhere and did not regret it. There is a cafe and a restaurant as well with delicious and generous portions.Toilets are very outdated and could do with a better clean as well. Especially that there are so many children using them as well.
We visited the park recently, on a hot summer day. Our 4 year old loved the place..Apart from the animals, kids have a wading pool, some equipments for play, and a bouncy castle . Plan for a full day of fun.If you are using public transport, keep in mind that there is no bus on Sundays. You wont get a cab ride to city as well.Be prepared to walk to Pangbourne Railway station (2 miles), in order to get to any other place from here. The train ride is a good one to start with..we skipped this in the beginning and later regretted as the train had some malfunction and was stopped. So better catch it once you land here..Plan a picnic as there are plenty of place to put down your picnic mat..kids love it for sure..There is sanitizing stations everywhere which is also helpful . We plan to visit again.:)
Had a reasonably fun day. This place is ideal for getting out and getting the kids interested in animals. Particularly enjoyed spending some time watching the meerkats lounging in the sun and play fighting. Not a bad little outing, but only something that will likely keep kids entertained for a few hours. The paddling pool and sand pit are a bonus though!
Amazing zoo. Beautiful, happy animals on big place. Also lots of fun for little one.Big area with grass and trees for picnics. Absolutely brilliant. Were coming back soon.
