Very small gravel / rocky beach area - not much in way of facilities. 10 mins walk from cruise port.Water was very clear and clean though.More inviting than the main beach which was being dug up when we visited (May 22)

Land of Olympics 🙌Katakolo (Greek: Κατάκολοis a seaside town in the municipality of Pyrgos in western Elis, Greece. It is situated on a headland overlooking the Ionian Sea and separating the Gulf of Kyparissia from the rest of the Ionian. It is 11 km (6.8 miwest of Pyrgos. The small village of Agios Andreas, which in ancient times was the natural harbour for Ancient Olympia, lies northwest of Katakolo.In the Middle Ages, Katakolo was the site of the fortress of Pontikon or Pontikokastro (Ποντικόν, Ποντικόκαστρο), which the Frankish rulers of the Principality of Achaea called Beauvoir or Belvedere. The fortress was built by the Byzantines and taken over by the Franks ca. 1205.Katakolo has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification: Csa), with hot, dry summers and mild winters with significant rainfall.The port of Katakolo is a popular stop for cruise ships, offering an opportunity for passengers to visit the site of Olympia. Low hills with forests surround Katakolo. Visitors here have the opportunity to visit the ancient port of Olympia, the sunken ancient city of Pheia.[5] Ancient Pheia was on the other side of the mountain of Ichthys, now Agios Andreas, within walking distance of Katakolo port. The lighthouse of Katakolo was built in 1865. One of the most important sites of Katakolo is the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology.Katakolo has a big market. It consists of more than sixty shops. Cafeterias, restaurants, clothing and traditional Greek products.The remains of the medieval Pontikokastro/Belvedere/Beauvoir castle still stand on a hilltop northeast of the modern port, but the castle is mostly ruined and its original appearance can only be surmised.A railway station connects Katakolo with Pyrgos and Olympia.

Short walk from Cruise Ship. Great place to be while everyone else shops in town. Staff is very friendly and keep it clean.

Πολύ καλή και καθαρή καντίνα με άψογο service και ποιοτικό καφέ! Μια φωλιά, δίπλα στο κύμα με πολύ ευγενικό προσωπικό που είναι έτοιμο να εξυπηρετήσει! Η θάλασσα είναι πεντακάθαρη και ήρεμη, ιδίως το καλοκαίρι!

Nice place, nice people.

Drinks really reasonably priced. Little beach area with tired sunbeds and umbrellas and debris on the sand but well used by cruisers too tired or not interested in going to Olympus.

Οταν πας σε ενα μερος οποτ τα 2/3 των καθισμάτων ειναι ...πιασμενα με πετσέτες ξενερώνεις αμεσως!!

Playa a pie de crucero, 3€ caffe frapé y tienes una sombrilla y 2 amacas sin coste, muy agradable un baño antea de subir a bordo de nuevo, en septibre agua templada

Απλά τέλεια!!

Δεν έχω λόγια για το προσωπικό που είναι τέλειο, ωστόσο έως εκεί... Ξαπλώστρες με τρύπες, η παραλία γεμάτη αποτσιγαρα...οι ομπρέλες με το πρώτο αεράκι να βρισκοντε σε αποσυθενση... Σε ατύχημα να μην υπάρχει ούτε γάζα η γάντια μιας χρήσεως... και η αντιμετώπιση να γίνεται με ρόλο κουζίνας και betadine... K ο υπεύθυνοςΑγενής, όταν με έβλεπε εβγαζε φλικτενες....δε θέλω να γράψω κ άλλα γιατί θα χαλάσω τη μέρα μου.... Καλή όρεξη σε όποιον παραπεσει εδώ....

Τέλειος καφές!!! Τέλειο προσωπικό!! Από τα πιο σούπερ κοκτέιλ και προπάντων τα πιο σούπερ χαμόγελα!!!!!!!

Small, clean beach with good friendly service from the beach bar.

Great clean beach within minutes of the cruise ship port. Owner very attentive tidying beach, helping people and at €5 a sunbed...bargain.Had very tasty lunch too.

Posticino incantevole sulla spiaggia adiacente al porto.

Wenn man mit einem Kreuzfahrtschiff in Katakolon an landet, ist das der nächstgelegene Badestrand. Klein und steinig, aber die liegen Kosten fast nichts und man bekommt notfalls auch ein Getränk. Das Wasser ist wie üblich schön und es schwimmen ab und zu mal garnierte Tomaten oder Früchte aus einem Cocktail an Land... sicherlich von den Kreuzfahrtschiffen. Sonst ziemlich romantisch.

Εχει πρόσβαση στην θάλασσα για τους ΑμεΑ εχει το Σιτρακ !!!!!

Μα καλά σελφ σέρβις? Σου λένε ελάχιστη κατανάλωση το άτομο 2,5€ σε κάτι ξαπλώστρες όλο μπαλώματα και πρέπει να πας μόνος σου να τους τα ακουμπήσεις... Άσε που δεν ήταν και εξυπηρετικοί... Χάλια!! Μόνο η θάλασσα αξίζει εκεί! Τίποτε άλλο.... Να φύγουν από εκεί να είναι ελεύθερη η παραλία όπως παλιά...

Πολύ μικρό. Ο ενας πέφτει πανω στον αλλο, συνωστισμός. Τιμές οπως παντού στην Ηλεία. Δεν ξετρελαθηκαμε

Rychlá koupačka hned vedle u přístavu, Moře čisté, voda teplá. Občerstvení v baru s dobrým jídlem a pitím.
