High-quality, authentic food and a lovely staff experience. So good that we went twice in our 4-night stay! The paneer butter masala and tadka dal were especially good – dont be afraid to ask for it a little spicy if you want, as the restaurant caters to the milder European palate.

We live in basel and come here almost weekly. Having been to India I can say that this is the most authentic and truly tastiest Indian restaurant in Basel. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the service is lovely ❤️❤️❤️

The last few times weve been there the chicken has been tough. When theyre busy we usually have to get up to ask if we can order. The rice and bread portions are smaller than some other places.There seems now to be a problem with filtration our clothes stank of Indian cooking oil for a long time after. The flavours are good but it will be a while before we go back.

Very nice restaurant with a good ambiance and a great service by the waiters. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. On the other hand this restaurant is not cheap. But we received with our meal also a plate of white rice and a palak dish that were not charged. The naans were very well made and also the palak paneer we enjoyed very much. We were lesser enthusiastic about the other dish made with the jack fruit. Overall we will be happy to come back to enjoy a meal at this restaurant

Ordered Dal Tadka & Kadhai Paneer from this restaurant. Had heard good reviews but not at all worth it. Poor taste and poor quality of paneer. Bad experience.

Price doesnt match with performance. Quantity is on smaller side. Dont order spicy, otherwise dish will come with additional red chilli powder plus green chillies.

Wow it’s now the second time we wait for our food for hours! After ordering i called to reconfirm. 50 min delivery time was the answer. It’s now 2 hours. Last time it was 3! Last time

What a disappointment... Ok good, quite expensive, and absurdly slow! We wait at least 1 hour to get our plate... 1 Hour!!When we complained the waiter told us that all the other tables waited the same time (not sure what he meant? Look how other people are OK with our bad service?).At some point when it became beyond acceptable (9:45 pm you start losing even appetite...we understood what the problem was: while we waited we saw 7 big deliveries coming out of the kitchen.If the owner of this place reads my comment here is my msg: it does not make sense to serve a full restaurant and be willing to make extra cash with delivery using a kitchen that is not ready to serve that... This is not the good way of doing buisness.At the end, we spent an unpleasant night and his/her place, and spent 136 CHF for 3, I will not say (s)he well-deserved that money.

Bayleaf is the best Indian restaurant in Basel!We decided to break our fast at Bayleaf restaurant on the evening of 11.05.20; during the month of Ramadhan; on the first day eating out was made permissible after months of Lockdown ! We were desperate for a great night out and got more than we could’ve hoped for when we decided to go to Bayleaf!The service n food were impeccable! There was so much variety and flavour, no two dishes tasted similar. Everything was fresh, divine and delectable, made with real passion from the heart!A highly recommended, unforgettable dining experience awaits you! Please eat in or get a takeaway soon-you will not be disappointed! Not to mention the array of halal, vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes on offer-you will be spoilt for choice! Takeaway food was very enjoyable! Quick service, generous portions, and most importantly tasty food -- we enjoyed both a lamb spinach thing and a vegetarian dish. Bonus points for some free extras that we didnt even notice until we unpacked the bag at home!The one question is whether there might be a way to reduce the amount of garbage just a little.

My oh my what a blast. To start of with, the price is a bit above the average for indian food in Basel, but its worth it!!! Feels like you get the same amount of food for take away as you would get in the restaurant as well. I mean it came with about 300grams of Rice plus sauce and meat of probably another 300grams or even more.And they managed to deliver it hot, on the other side of the City! I love this food, and it was well seasoned and the spice was right up my alley. Arrived quite early and we were the first there. Service was friendly and efficient with an English menu.Food was hot and tasty!

Excellent food and ambiance is top notch. The staff is also very polite. The paneer kadai is highly recommended. Definitely one of the best indian restaurants in Basel!

Great tastes, superb service in the heart of Basel. The prices are a little bit higher than the average but worth it. The menu is in 3 languages (inc. Englishand the weathers are speaking 3-4 languages as well. Be prepared that the portions are bigger than usual. ;)

Had a great evening meal at the View. Staff were polite and attentive throughout. Food quality was excellent and time has obviously been taken to source the ingredients. Would highly recommend and look forward to coming back.

Delicious spicy lamb curry.

Very nice place. We wanted food without onion and garlic and they made it for us. It is near to the tram stop and accessible by wheel chair. They have sitting arrangement inside and outside, both. Service is quite fast. Staff is nice too.Exceptional part is that they asked for feedback afterwards, it shows that they really want to improve.Much recommended.

Hi,Since this place first opened, the food has improved dramatically!Now, my wife and I are regular visitors to this popular restaurant- great staff, tasty, fresh food, and reasonable prices for Basel.Highly recommended!

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times and ordered in multiple times. Something always goes wrong with the restaurant. They miscalculate the order total, over charge or deliver inconsistent items. We typically order the same menu item for home delivery, but we have always received incomplete orders. Weve never seen this kind of inconsistency anywhere else. Beyond a point, its just appalling if the basics cannot be got right. Wed give this restaurant a pass.

Expensive, 30 Euros worth of food that really wasnt up to scratch. Not tasty, tired and stale, not appetizing, felt done. Swiss just dont do decent food joints.

The restaurant is big and stylish and has a good variety of dishes. However the taste was nothing especial, the portions are quite small and the prices are too high for such a treat, they even charge separately for basmati rice, seriously? If you have tried good Indian food, avoid this one if looking for something surprising.

I came here to dine in with my wife for our anniversary. From starters to dessert everything was very delicious and very professional service. I highly recommend this place and please do make reservation before your visit.

We found this jewel of the crown in Basel; I have been in India and can say without hesitation that since then I haven’t tasted such and incredible and delicious Indian dishes. I strongly recommend this place!

Specially Nadeem bhai is superb person and his hospitality is at next level.Surprisingly this place is one of favourite restaurant for Europeans.. People love Indian food.

Great Indian food in a nice setting! The sauces you get with the poppadoms were amazing - I loved them and starters also very good. Mains were good - I think I will go there again to try an every bigger selection with a bigger group. Friendly staff and good service. 100% recommend when in Basel.

They actually brought the chef over from my favourite Indian restaurant in London, Dishoom. The best Indian food in Basel. Main dishes cost approximately 30 SFr and are served with plain rice. When dining with large groups weve found a couple of times that somebodys dish will arrive after the rest but overall great service, great food, modern, clean and comfortable interior.

Delicious Indian food, great choices and quality. Very friendly personal. I can only recommend going there, have not found a better Indian restaurant in Basel yet.Beware: bottled water is VERY expensive, do not buy and aks for tap water instead.

We had food delivered three weeks ago from Bayleaf and it was delicious. So, when we were considering restaurants for this evening, we went there with our 5 month old daughter. We were tucked in the back corner and then largely ignored. On the basis of that experience, I could not recommend this restaurant, even though the food is good.

Newly opened Indian restaurant in Basel. The food, atmosphere and service is great. The chicken hyder was especially tasty...nice and spicy! We will be going back soon.
