Bay Restaurant in Dublin
Description
Privilege
Had s horrible burger here first time with some kind of slaw on it which was really not nice. Here today giving it another try for an Irish breaky, 14 Euro, rather steep, excl coffee 3 items burnt to a crisp, no brown bread as ordered, no mustard, beans in a tiny container, not great for the price, if you want a good breaky better somewhere else
MoreNice little place on the seaside. Had the prawn Bay tacos. So good!!
Was in Bay Wednesday evening with my two friends. Food was delicious and we were served by a really nice guy. Friendly and very courteous. Love this restaurant 😍 !!!
MoreIf I could give less than 1 star I would. 45 minutes waiting time and did not get the food, the place was really almost empty and nothing justified the delay. Too many employees but only one or two who really knew what they were doing. I cant say about the quality of the food since I didnt eat anything. No Irish management. Atrocious. And definitely not for people on lunch break from work
MoreVery good restaurant with a very varied menu.Reasonable prices.Pleasent ambiance and if you can secure a front window seat youll have a wide view of Dublin Bay. Well worth a visit.
MoreI had the cajun chicken, however I wish I ordered the seafood lasagne, it was delcious. Deconstructed and plenty of monk prawns & salmon. Homemade pasta in a tasty bisque. Now my chicken was excellent too, dont get me wrong, carmalised onion, brie and home slaw. 1 minor point, house salad was limp, roots of onion included and not dressed. I always think I good salad refreshes ur palate no? Oh BTW, no cajun flavour on the chicken. But still a good burger but needs more spice
MoreDelicious food. Courteous staff. Love this place. The Costelloe sisters have created a wonderful restaurnt with a lovely ambience. Can highly recommend.
MoreI have been for brunch several times over the last couple of months. Always in group, with between 7 and 3 people. This time rdered plain scrambled eggs, toasted brown bread & butter. Presentation very very basic! I know what i ordered was simple, but have ordered same in many places and it has been nicely done without huge effort. Each time I visited Ive asked for marmalade, never have any, only have jam. They forgot to put in our order, we waited over an hour before enquiring when will our food be ready, eventually our order was rushed through. We were not offered pot of tea/coffee while we waited. Wont be going back. Staff pleasant, but no maitre d on hand overseeing customer service and quality. Very disappointing.
MoreThey were friendly .. nice view .. nice decoration .. the rice wasnt cooked very well
MoreFood is 10/10! Great location, lovely staff. The clontarf dream cocktail is amazing!
MoreThe food was excellent plus the staff are so pleasant and they were brilliant with one of our party with special needs. Will recommend to everyone
Morethe food was well below par.the chips were reheats and very greasy.the fish was ok.the starters in particular the chicken wings were tough and tasteless.the prawns (3and scallops (2were awful. two main courses of chicken and prawns(3linguine was awful, tasteless.I definitely would not recommend your restaurant to anyone.
MoreFish was tasty but rice had some topping on it which I didnt like. The service was very poor, we waited a long time at the start and in between courses as well. It wasnt busy at the time so no excuse for this.
MoreGood atmosphere and service... surf and turf steak very tough practically impossible to eat otherwise food good with the exception of Eton mess poor bought in meringue and fruit sauce very poor
MoreThe restaurant was very comfortable and a lovely mirror helped make the place bigger and even more attractive, The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was excellent,
MoreGreat food in a relaxed environment, friendly and professional staff!
Food and service is excellent. Beer is a bit pricy. Its not necessary to hike the price up so much.
MoreGood range of vegetarian options. My curry was delicious! Very friendly staff.
Brunch is always excellent here, some new fun things on the menu which were just as good as their classics. Great coffee. Staff are brill.
MoreI thought it was overpriced for what we had.(€140 for 3 people).1st time we were ever charged for "extra" bread to go with the pate. Also charged for sparkling mineral water when we only had carafes of warm tap water. Wont be going back.
MoreNice spot with a comprehensive menu and good prompt service! You hear a lot of complaining about service these days, just want to flag that the service was excellent when we visited! We popped in for lunch. Its quite a large lunch menu, with lighter bites, starters and mains. We went for beef/prawn tacos, which come with really tasty chips. I would say if you are hungry go for a main. The tacos were very nice, big not a big feed. For dessert we had Eaton Mess and Apple Pie, both were excellent. We will be back to make our way down the menu! Until then...
MoreI’ve been going here since it opened and supported the restaurant through lockdown. Unfortunately they have lost us as customers due to their approach over their loyalty program. They wiped away loyalty points which had been collected over 7 years and said they informed people via email. Not good enough. Loyalty works both ways but not in this case it seems.
MoreFood tasted fine. Way overpriced but I think we need to get used to that in Ireland. 2 mains and 3 drinks for €70 at lunchtime. Service average. Was asked if we had a booking when only 2 people in the restaurant!!
Morei really love this restaurant. i’ve been for lunch and breakfast now and i sadly only got a picture of my breakfast but both meals were absolutely amazing and i had such an amazing time with my family and the waitresses are so lovely and very good service :)))
MoreGreat meal on 21st. Excellent menu well priced, lovely staff. Bay has got its mojo back !! And well be back.
MoreThe food and the customer service was nice . The only advice than i give for the restaurant is get a better Guinness , was so bad , no taste , no cold and the body of the beer totally disaster . Get a better barrel of Guinness keep cold ❄️ and dont use Guinness can,s
MoreI am disappointed with the bay restaurant, had the steak and it was very chewy, cold and dry. Staff extremely rude as if you were an inconvenience and in their way.. Wouldn’t recommend eating here there is much nicer quality places nearby!
MoreThe food is not great i had the fish and chips and the fish has some sort of curry taste to it. i felt like there was not much fish in the batter and the chips were undercooked. The price of the food for the quality is terrible the local beshoff is half the price and the quality of fish is at a higher standard. Would not recommend.
MoreA really great local restaurant - the specials are always delicious! The staff are great and there is a nice focus on healthier food! Kids menu is great with fish and fillet steak along with the kids usuals!
MoreAn excellent place for a meal. Good food choices made with care; not too pricey (expect 100-120€ for two for three courses plus one drinkservice speed just right IE neither rushed nor too much delay; attentive, friendly serving team; parking nearby; great views of Dublin Bay; and, most critically for us, genuinely good gluten free offerings. Altogether highly recommended.
MoreWhat a fantastic little restaurant, just across from Bull Island. The food is always top class, the menu is actually so good that it is a tough choice of what to have…A great complain. Bay is now a regular venue for us.
MoreThe coffee is good, unlike most places in Dublin that serve burnt beans. The scrambled egg breakfast with peppers + spinach cheese is full of flavor. The staff are the cherry on top, genuine and light hearted :)
MoreVery overpriced. Venue was lovely but food wasnt good value for money
Lovely little find. Ample on street parking. Nice relaxed ambience inside with unique decor. Staff were very pleasant. We got a table overlooking the sea and could watch the sunset. They had a heater burner beside us so nice and warm. Good selection of food on the menu. I had tiger prawn tacos which were the best Ive ever tasted. He had a burger which was also very tasty. Service was fast. All in all a lovely little place to spend an evening.
MoreI grew up in Rhode Island, USA and this was the best Fish and Chips since I moved away over ten years ago. 10/10
MoreWe went here for a late lunch for my step sons confirmation meal with the family. We got a great seat with a sea view and there was a nice buzz about the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful, also patient and lovely with the kids. The food was excellent, I had a beautiful surf and turf with the steak done exactly as requested. The prawns and seafood were superb. They had a great vegetarian selection too. One of our sorry had some amazing looking tacos. Great place. Thanks
MoreMy wife and I had an amazing dinner here for our anniversary trip! The haddock and the pulled beef tacos were fabulous, the service was beyond excellent (the owners son served us personally and hes a very charming young man), and the environment and view of the bay is exceptional, all at a very reasonable price! We will most definitely be coming back here!
MoreOrdered for takeaway on my way home from work 2 portions of wings absolutely terrible burned and hard couldnt eat them chips were reheated hard and burnt, prawn and chicken linguini average at best an garlic bread absolutely terrible couldnt eat. Oh and to wrap up it was all cold when I got home I live in raheny waste of money wouldnt return
MoreHad a lovely breakfast there wit my wife & son the only I can complain about is the decaf coffee did not taste good everything else was lovely as was the staff.
MoreBefore I start to go into details I would actually like to highlight that if possible I would give 3.5 Stars and not only 3.That said, we have had Mushroom on Hummus with Pitabread as a starter. Mushrooms and greens were nice, Hummus good texture but was lacking some salt. Pita bread was kind of tasteless. Presentation was nicely done.As main we had the Fish & Chips - Fish was nicely battered and tasted really good, cooked to the point. Chips were less than average, very soaky not crispy no spices. Sauce tartare was ok.Food was served very quickly, stuff was ok.What I didnt like is that you get a menu with food mentioned that adoes not match the one in the internet bindicates meals as new though menu seems months old and outdated and cyou are being told that certain food is not available since covid happened, which was how many months ago?! The menu as such is not a fancy book, it is a two pager layered in plastic, why not just make a new one after 18 months?Maybe it is just me, but I like to check the menu upfront as I am looking forward to the event of eating out, then realizing that web and paper not match, and then even being told that paper is outdated annoys me a bit, especially as to me updating a web page or a paper based version should be a maintenance task that every restaurant should cater for.
MoreWe had some delicious food at Bay restaurant. The staff were lovely too. Prices were bit on the higher side but worth the evening.
MorePoor customer service, can’t order from the main menu just the click and collect even when you try to do it in person. So can get a beef burger and chips but not the vegetarian burger and chips as an example. Zero reason given as to why except that’s just how it is.This was the 7oz steak we got last time for 22 euros! So can only really blame ourselves for trying again. Shame as some of the staff are great and the brunch is amazing. It’s simple things they could easily sort.
MoreThe steak I got from bay restaurant for 30 euro is this one. Very very small . I have taken few fries before taking this photo .At least is there was some fries or more salad leaves , that would have helped me . Or is expensive restaurant means only less food ?
MoreNice view but overpriced. 17€ for 2 tacos and chips (2 tiger prawns per tacosseems a little high to me. I don’t mind paying a little extra, but the flavor was just not there.Guinness was nicely drafted though and the service was good.
MoreGreat brunch menu! Food absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff. A gem!
We had a very good experience at Bay Restaurant.Starting with the positive things, which are the most important. The restaurant is very well located, in the Clontarf road in front of the North Bull Island (also a place I highly recommend to go). After or before the meal its a good call to go to the beach. The food was very good, we shared a starter and main course, sweet potato chips and vegetable tacos accompanied with Gin Tonic.. perfect combination for a sunny and warm day.The service was very good, specially Paulo Coelho and Sueli. The only thing could be improved was about one of the waitress didnt give much attention, we waited 10 min to order the food and drinks and the restaurant wasnt full. Also when came our starter they didnt bring plates, cutlery and napkins.. but as I said, once Paulo and Sueli came the service became excellent.
MoreGood find in the Dublin beaches! We went there for a late lunch, and their were still serving brunch (which looked delicious). We settled on Korean-style seafood noodles and Tiger prawns and monk fish skewers with couscous. Highly recommend the last combo if you like a bit of spice!Desserts are worthy! We had banofee pie and pear/ginger crumble.
MoreNice location and decor. Staff were very nice and attentive. Pity when after requesting a window seat when booking that they couldnt guarantee one and right enough even though it wasnt very busy we were placed at the very back of the dining area, as far back from the window as you could get. Food was good and they served big portions even from the kids menu. Steak was a bit gristly but the other 5 meals were spot on. Would recommend for small groups. From Therese:Gristly 3 ounces of meat & 3 ounces of gristly fat, from a 6 ounce sirloin steak. Very disappointed with meal. Alot on the menu wasnt available. Very disappointed with visit. Supposedly a popular restaurant.
MoreLovely restaurant with a super view of the bay. Never tried pea pancakes before and they where delicious. Poached eggs where cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was smooth and not overwhelming. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, quiet and relaxing.
MoreSuch a lovely restaurant. The decor is so cozy and cute! Definitely a nice place for a nice meal with friends or family. The view is to die for when the weather is nice outside. There’s also a nice covered and heated seating area outside. The food is lovely as well. The menus changed since the first time I visited it but still lovely!
