Cocktails and eclectic Thai, Japanese and Malaysian dishes in a smart and buzzy bar/restaurant.
One of my absolute favourite places to take people! They have a really good range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options so everyones happy. Ive never had a bad dish here, everything tasted enchanting and fresh. The cocktails are really worth a go, too.
Have both eaten in and taken away, service is great and the food even better. My favourite place to eat in Clifton Village and the set menu is a bargain.
Bauhinia is our favourite Thai restaurant in Bristol. Their vegetarian Nasi Goreng with pineapple is delightful. Really love going here or having a sneaky takeaway!
This is our favourite Thai in Bristol (and ne beyond!). The Thai red, green and pad Thai come highly recommended. The staff are always very kind and have excellent customer service. Absolutely worth a trip or takeaway!!
Delicious take away! And super friendly staff! Clean plates all round!
Fabulous food - we especially enjoyed the curries. We ordered delivery and it came really quick and was super fresh. Thank you
Excellent food very refined asian food ! for fair price.
Went here for dinner and it was ropey. Crispy squid was soggy, literally dripping in oil. Massaman curry had chunks of dry beef, and the sauce was an inedible pulp. Also, the ‘hello, nice to meet you’ greeting by the waitress was replaced by “we’re understaffed and therefore not doing cocktails”. As a consumer, paying money for something, I have not a care in the world for your resourcing. Will be out of business promptly based on this user experience. Not a patch on Koh Thai or Giggling Squid, the better local alternatives.
The staff are great - very attentive, friendly and polite. They serve the food pretty quickly too. The main that I ordered (Malaysian style fried noodlewas average and salty but the starters are great!
Bauhinia Restaurant is simply amazing. High quality food, great atmosphere, friendly and attentive waitresses at a great price. You won’t be disappointed with a visit here.
Only 3 chicken skewers for the chicken satay dish :/ Red curry tasted good but the portion of steamed rice was small and undercooked
Service was lovely, friendly, helpful & polite. Food was really tasty and lots of choice on the menu. Will return for sure.
Good deal for their early evening set. Great Thai food and Asian beer selection.
We can’t fault the service, the staff were friendly, professional and attentive. However, we ordered mainly from the tapas menu and found the food to be very basic and underwhelming unfortunately. The pork satay was very dry, the ribs were dry and not cooked for long enough and the sauce as sweet and sticky as it was didn’t marry up, almost straight out of plastic. The scallops were old and over powered with coriander probably to disguise the ammonia taste. The monk fish tempura was fairly enjoyable as was the wonton.
Excellent mee goreng. Really enjoyed it. Lovely staff, nice atmosphere.
Food was good with decent range and reasonable price. Went on a sat night with group of 11 and service was incredibly slow. Just so so slow, but would still recommend
Love the food, service is good, nice romantic and intimate atmosphere.
Utterly amazing. Three outstanding mains (including best beef rendang I think Ive ever hadand a starterbig enough for three of us, pint of tiger and a couple of cokes, just over 50 quid. Would have happily paid twice that. Wish this place was closer to home.
Great little bar/restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. Not like some of the pretentiousness of Clifton village.
My second time in this Pan-Asian restaurant, and the experience few months since the initial one was just as fantastic. Plenty of proper tasty options for your vegan and vegetarian friends. We had a few starters (fish cakes were so tasty, tempura prawns, same, but vegetarian half moon dumplings, and chili salt tofu a revelation!Pad Thai, very flavoursome, sambal ditto, but its the thick egg noodles with squid, muscles and scallops that took the prize. Our vegan friends main of curry was reportedly awesome!
Best food and decorations ever! Great for family reservations, the prices are a bit too high though.
Wow, just wow! Everything looked and tasted so amazing I didnt even have time to take a picture of it before eating it all!!! Chicken satay with peanut sauce, chicken curry and roti canai!!! It was like going back to Malaysia for an evening (it was even 30 degrees outside!Really enjoyed my meal and staff were very friendly and attentive. As a constructive critique: chicken pieces were a bit too big for my taste. The menu was full of interesting dishes, will definitely come back for more!
After being to Malaysia and Thailand weve been trying similar food in every restaurant around, but with bad luck. The delicious curry with the chicken skewers where nowhere to be found. Until now!I ordered the chicken curry and it was simply the best curry Ive ever had! They even had roti canai, the typical flat bread that you dip into the curry sauce.Well surely go back again!
Lovely food staff great they were dealing with a party of twelve after we had been served . Please listen to the waiting staff when food is being delivered to your table!!!
Ordered a couple of Beef Rendang and Chicken Kari(Currylast week with a group of people. Lets talk about the Rendang. The beef itself was nice but the whole dish was very dry and hard to continue. It would be great if there is more gravy to accompany the rice. As for the Chicken Kari, I was surprised to see sweet potato in the dish itself as sweet potato is mainly used in Asian dessert. The curry has a sweet taste and its confusing. What would make it better is probably more liquid and less thickness. Replace chicken breast with chicken thighs/drumsticks because Asians dont really like to use chicken breast in their cooking cause of the chunkiness. Definitely take the sweet potato out. Desserts and drinks were okay.
I love this Resturant. The food is always amazing, priced well. My go to is always the chicken and prawn pad Thai. The starters are always delicious as well! Highly recommend and the staff are always lovely!
Absolutey love this place, one of the best Thai places in Bristol. Havnt found a better one as of yet! Very nice atmosphere, polite staff and more to the point beautiful food. For the starters I recommend the spicy fish cakes defo! The chicken skewers are also good (I prefer the fish cakes pad Thai or the Thai green curry are to die for with big portions full of flavour. The curry is nice, rich and in a creamy sauce. The papaya salad was ok, nothing compared to what you would get in Thailand.Definitely give this place a go if you like Thai food.
Staff are very welcoming and polite. The food is amazing. They also have good deals on the menu. One of my favourite places to eat out!
I love this place. Ive been here many a times with friends/date night with the boyfriend. Whenever I want tasty fresh (thaifood I always suggest here. The atmostophe is cosy and relaxing and the staff are always si lovely. Ive never had a bad meal here, nor any one Ive dined with said anything but lovely things. Definelty one of my favourite restaurants in Bristol.
Terrible food and highly expensive. I have ordered through deliveroo, it has arrived 4 pieces of burnt dumplings for £6.50 and 6 pieces of burnt meat for 8.50£. No sides or anything, not even better than wok wok food and highly expensive. Unbelievable!!!
Fairly bland and overall a little disappointing. Used a wriggle deal and still felt slightly overcharged. Would definitely not recommend at full price.
Drinks and food were delicious. The Evening special 2 course meal is totally worth it!
Fantastic food at a really affordable prices for its location. Nice layout with a great downstairs area for bigger numbers. I would highly recommend!
Great staff and atmosphere but food is disappointing.Veggie pad Thai wasn’t very good nor was the Thai green curry. The vegetables in both dishes weren’t seasoned and tasted bland.Recommend the chicken wings tapas and orient express cocktail.Won’t visit again as there are many other Thai/Asian restaurants to try in Bristol.Don’t know why there are so many good reviews about this place.
This is literally my favourite restaurant in Bristol, and it has been since it opened in 2004. The staff are wonderful and the food is always, without exception, delicious. I recently decided to become flexitarian and was delighted to find that they do some of my favourite dishes as a vegan option. Im pleased to say that I wasnt disappointed. The tofu Thai green curry was amazing and the vegan dumplings delicious. Though the best starter is the chilli salt squid, theyre actually all exceptional. The Thai basil chicken is amazing, as is the teriyaki chicken but, yummy food aside, its the greeting we always get when we pop in that really makes Bauhinia one of the best places to eat in the South West. A++
Couldnt fault this great place. Staff friendly and efficient. Food delicious and plenty of it but great value. Good atmosphere as well - we had a party of eight and everybody happy - thanks !
Food didn’t come and after time had to leave - they didn’t give a reason as to why the food didn’t come. It looked really good but they seem to be struggling to deliver food to customers
Another fantastic restaurant in Clifton village, the 2 course offer is excellent value and the food is great. It is the only place nearby that runs a good offer on Saturday evenings and has plenty of room downstairs for when it gets busy
One of the best meals Ive had in Bristol in recent years. Great choice, service and flavours. Recommended.
Wish it had veggie options for all meals not just a few. Food and service is good.
The staff were lovely however our food took 1hr 15 to come and was somewhat lacking in flavour. In fairness it was a very busy Friday night.
Freshly cooked food, delicious & full of flavour. Welcoming service. Great cocktails!
Delicious food, have been coming here for many years and will continue to do so. Can highly recommend the chicken satay.
Really authentic, generous, quality food. Busy & fun upstairs, quieter & calmer downstairs, cheap drinks, awesome service. Love it!
Delicious range of pan - Asian food at fair prices. Very filling, inoffensive decor, and patient waiters.
The food today wasnt quite as good as it could have been. 2 prawns on the main seemed a bit cheap. They were over cooked as well. When we mentioned it they barely listened. Has been better before.
Always a warm welcome here and consistently excellent food. Ive been eating here now for over 3 years and there are a couple of dishes I come back to time and time again, but there seasonal specialities always give some interesting options also. Its a great neighbourhood hang out.
A lovely restaurant with very tasty food, with a decent but not overwhelming variety. Fresh ingredients were evident and flavours were nicely balanced.Missed the fifth star, however, due to fairly wooden and overbearing service, which felt like the management wanted certain things pushed on the customer, and excessive charges like the 50p for a teensy bowl of sriracha, a condiment which is left on the table in big bottles in even the most price-conscious cost-cutting restaurant. Which is a shame because the main attraction was so reasonably priced!
Very good food, like a wagamama but much better, good selection of drinks and really nice staff.
consistently good food -really tasty and not full of MSG, lovely atmostphere and very reasonably priced. Would def recommend!
