Battota Nubian Guest House in Aswan

I still remember this place. Terrible experience overall. I think there was some discrimination included because I never understood what happened.I booked via booking but they told me to cancel it and pay them directly. On the way to Aswan I met a guy in the train whom didn’t had a place to stay. I told him about this one and called the owner, asking him if it would be a problem to change rooms (changing to a bigger one/double bedbecause I got him and additional client! :D He was ok, and actually very polite.Sadly, the dad of the owner (I’m not sure if he is actually the real ownerdidn’t liked us since the beginning. Not sure why. He was very rude to us, turned off our air conditioner in the middle of the day with incredible heat outside. He entered the living room every time giving us bad looks and checking out what we were doing. Maybe he didn’t liked our ethnicity? That would be the only explanationWe didn’t mind. Always tried to smile to him and get busy with our stuff. In the middle of a sand storm we were in the living room, chatting with a French guy and drinking some juice that was left on the fridge for us.Then this man entered and told us how dared we drink from that juice. That we should get out of his house immediately and throwed at us the rest of the money (charging us fully for a day that was not finished). He didn’t said anything to the French guy who was there with us. We didn’t know what to do. Called his son and told him what just happened. And he just told us to get out of the house then… in the middle of a sandstorm in Aswan!!!!!Te-rri-ble example of discrimination. Or just bad hospitality. I have been telling every friend what happened here. But I also wanted to leave it by written.Luckily we found other very nice man in the island who gave us shelter. If you want to stay here it’s up to you. But you are at your luck to live what we lived through.There are amazing options in the island and overall in Aswan : This one, based on my experience, is not one of these.

فندق فوق الممتاز واسون بلد من افضل الاماكن الطبيعيه ويقع الفندق على جزيرة الفانتين. الجزيرة هادئة جدا في الليل. تم تجهيز غرفتنا بشبكات من البعوض على النوافذ😀 ، وهناك حتى طارد للبعوض في الغرفة. الحمام صغير لكن نظيف جدا . رعاية الموظفين ممتازه صراحتآ . كل ذلك باسعار فوق المتوسطة في الليلة. لا تتردد ، اذهب إلى هناك! في منتهى الجمال والهدوء 😍🌹📌❤️❤️

Now called NUBA DOOL!!I started my journey in Cairo and that has made me rather wary of nice people.Yet, when I came to Nuba Dool, they were nothing but honest and truly nice. They helped explain the public transportation and even provide a wonderful breakfast. Their English is very good as well!The rooms are nice as well, with a beautiful overlook. I wish you the best, your American friend 🤠!

This place is now called NUBA DOOL Guesthouse. It’s run by a family (owner, nephews, cousins, wives, and even the kidsand everyone is SO sweet. The rooms were clean and large, decoration is cute, the breakfast was very good (they even provided breakfast boxes when we had early starts), the main contact Mohammed replied almost immediately if we ever needed anything, the little cruise arranged to Nubian village by them was wonderful and inexpensive. The whole place is hassle free, friendly, honest, and very accommodating - which is difficult to find in Egypt. 100% would stay again if we are ever back in Aswan - a pleasure. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Thank you :)

We stayed 2 nights and loved it! Food is amazing. Staff super friendly, helpful and kind! Dont let the island fool you, getting on and off is easy. They will hook you up with a great boat service. WhatsApp always responsive. Put together a great Abu Simbel tour too! 👏👌🤗

سئ جداااااااااا حمام مشترك ومكان سئ جداااااااااا ولا يوجد به فواتير لما يثبت اقامتك بالمكان والصور الموجوده على النت خداعه بشكل مستفز ولا يوجد تلفزيون ولا واى فاى كما يدعون ومكان غالى جداااااااااا جداااااااااا نظرا لسوء الخدمة وهو فعلا لا يوجد به اى خدمات نهائيا

Best place in Aswan

El lugar está bonito, los cuartos están muy bien, el que me tocó tenía baño privado, cama matrimonial con mosquitero, agua caliente y todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable. El lugar cuenta con una terraza común muy agradable, donde puedes desayunar o comer algo mientras disfrutas de la visita del Nilo. Aunque, lo que más me gustó fue la amabilidad de los anfitriones, de verdad se preocupan por hacerte sentir bien y cómodo. Si estás pensando en conocer Aswan, este lugar es muy recomendable.

Various types of tour also afford to be cheap and safe. It is a really good hostel, the terrace is always open and offers free hot drinks. There is always a staff waiting to get, and it was able to spend a fun and relaxed time in Aswan.

Lloc a lilla Elephentine amb molt encant. Està portat per una familia de la illa (nubiansque viuen sl pis de baix i que en tot moment es prrocupen per tot. a més a més les habitacions són molt netes amb lavabo propi, terrassa amb molt bones vistes. No us perdeu l esmorzar que preparen (inclós en el preu): impresionant!

Fantastic place the best place we stayed in egypt because of the fantastic hospitality and the very good tours we booked through the guest house!!!

I came to battota house with a friend in the middle of the night, where the supposed owner Muhammed was waiting for us. He was quite friendly and had even poured us both a glass of mango juice, which he said that we could help ourselves at any time. Next morning, we met another guy who was staying at Battota house and as we all sat in the lounge talking about our individual experiences in Egypt, an older man with a surly expression on face came in and started storming around turning off the A/C despite the fact that it was at least 50 degrees celsius!!!He came in and out of the room several times in past 30 minutes repeatedly inspecting the room as if we had damaged something, it was until he looked in the fridge and discovered that some of mango juice had been drunk. Immediately he accused my friend and I of stealing despite us both informing him that Muhammed had said that we could help ourselves with the juice. After viciously taking the mango juice out of the room, he came back with the money we paid for the stay and said that we had to leave immediately. We called Muhammed asking why this has happened and we were told that in fact the older man was the owner, not Muhammed. This very brief stay was an overall bad experience. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!. Power for A/C in not expensive in Aswan, the money we paid more than enough

We enjoyed our stay very much. The welcoming is very friendly and welcoming and they are more than willing to help you with all kinds of information to organise your trips and visits in the area. Nice breakfast, simple but clean air conditioned rooms. The roof terrace with shaded and unshaded places to sit, is a nice place to relax. The roof terrace has a kitchen, that every guest can use to make something to drink or eat. The guest house offers free Wi-fi with 2 different access points, which provides good coverage on the roof and the rooms. For us it is definitely a place to return to, the next time we are again in Aswan.

Great Guest House, Worth a Visit

Fabuleux, ici cest Royal: paix, vue, calme et histoire. Lîle Eléphantine domaine Nubien. Accueil exceptionnel, amabilité, service impeccable, vie avec les Nubiens et leur histoire, partage et ambiance sans oublier les repas typiques. Petit déjeuner excellent et très varié avec des produits locaux de premier choix. Lieu à recommander vivement.

Nice little guest house. Don’t be fooled by the entrance. The inside is neat and nicely decorated, even though not my style. The terrace is good for chilling overlooking the nile. Breakfast is the best so far.

Exceptional bed and breakfast guest house with perfect Nubian hospitality. Mohammed and his uncle operate this beautiful cozy guest house perfectly, helping us plan the entire Aswan and Luxor trips! Contact shared in the hotel information.Rooms: Ask for one of the terrace rooms, they seem like spatial rooms decorated beautifully. There’s a 24 hour accessible kitchen besides these rooms, help yourself to anything anytime of the day!Breakfast: the healthiest and most scrumptious breakfast I have had in Egypt. Cooked with love, served with overwhelming courtesy, one can have breakfast with other guests or by self; either way it’s a great experience! Don’t miss the morning yoga on the roof with the sunrise view over the Nile.How to reach: Take a 2egp ferry from the elephantine ferry point, and walk a 100 meters to reach the Batotta house. The ferry runs all day, so anytime to and fro is easy.Aswan Tours: Now this is the main thing: Mohammed will help with almost everything. Felucca ride in the Nile at 80-100 egp per hour, Abu Simbel trip, Ride to Luxor, Day trip to Nubian Village by motor boat. The main thing is that the people providing these services, the car, boat are of perfect quality! All you need to do is request the trip a day before and your all set for cherished moments around Aswan.Thanks Mohammed once again for a wonderful time, and only because of your hospitality and care, Aswan has become one of my favourite cities in the world!
