Battersea Park - Via, Chelsea Bridge, London SW11 4NJ, Bletchley
Home to smaller animals including otters, capuchins and chinchillas, with an interactive play area.
We loved that zoo! Everything is neat and tidy. There are several playgrounds. An amazing place to have fun for 4-5 hours with kids
Great time here with the kids. Relatively pricey but it is central London so kinda expected. Not sure if the fire truck & helicopter were the highlights or the animals were. Either way they had great fun.
A small zoo for small kids. Playground has interesting equipments for younger kids. There are also picnic tables.
I didnt like seeing the big birds on the tractor being restricted by the height of their enclosure as they were made for soaring high in the sky. Apart from that, lovely little zoo with some really cute animals Ive not seen before in real life.
I appreciate this children zoo a couple of days ago. Good customer service from Becca and Anna at the front desk. Cheers to you ladies and well done to the management.
The price to entre the zoo is expensive expecially for a 2 year old, hardly any animals? very small zoo, the play area the fire engine and helicopter could be better if there was more to do in them. I would go to battersea park again but not the zoo not worth the family ticket price and not safe for toddlers. The baby changing room and toilets? Would be better if the price was lowered or more animals and activities.
Fantastic and affordable little zoo with a diverse array of animals and lots of entertainment for the little ones.
Tiny zoo, so in theory great for smaller children. However, the paths are all uneven, cracked, holey and generally worn/tree root damaged. Not great for younger toddlers and new/not so steady walkers. My little one, who walks around parks or London Zoo with no problems, fell over so many times during our visit she scraped her knees, bashed and bit her lip enough to bleed and scraped her wrist.I think for toddlers and fairly new walkers it’s impossible to let them walk around safely, and the zoo is too small for older children.
A very nice little zoo for the children.. with a nice play area for children....
Fun day out for young kids, half zoo half play park. The facilities were very good in terms of picnic areas, toilets and hand washing stations.
I am bias with zoos so definitely bare that in mind! The zoo was very small, which was quite sad to see as the park itself is massive and I would have thought the zoo would be bigger. I dunno really what I expected, if it is realistic or not but I thought maybe those at the animals would interact and talk about them. But I feel that isnt reality. The reptile house was infact not a house, more like a walk way with very small enclosures for the reptiles/amphibians either side of you.We did visit on a very hot day so I understand not many animals were there, which is totally fine. It had play apparatuses all through, which is wonderful for the kids. All in all really Id say not great, very sad even. However for young little ones it is exiting. I liked how there were seating picnic areas too, so it wasnt like you had to trek with hungry children until you got somewhere and could just fuel them up and carry on.So getting the tickets were great, you get a month to use them and dont have to book in advance a slot so no rush whilst getting into London on a time frame. We had no issues getting in even with a disability and carer tickets, I had the docs ready but werent needed. The staff you could see were working very hard and in such high temperatures.
Great for kids, friendly staff, i thought the entry price was reasonable, parking on the weekend is relatively cheap, £2.70 for three hours which is perfect for a toddler but remember this is in the ULEZ zone. The play area is huge and well spaced out, lots for children to do and try. There are talks from the staff and those are great too. The cafe is a bit limited in variety but thats my only negative if you could call it that. Overall I thoroughly recommend this place for a trip out.
Nice day out but it is small so it will not fill an entire day.
The boys had a blast here - really enjoyed the feeding times and playground. The zoo keepers are friendly and entertaining. It isn’t as big as London Zoo but is definitely worth the price (Kids Pass do free child with a paying adult).
Great little zoo in the city, great price and some really cool animals. Although also pretty sad to see.
Much smaller than I expected but a lovely day out nonetheless. The monkeys were the stars of the show. On entry, if you turn right they are among the firsr 3 or 4 animals you come across.
Waste of money and literally was able to see the few animals really quick. It’s a very small place with less animals for the price you pay. The play area is however big and impressive. Would not recommend and go back
Okay experience here ran out of water at the cafe at 30 degree heat no hot food either.Would have been better if there was a water fountain for kids to play.Hardly any animals.Parking is convenient round the corner
Nice enough, but not many animals and most of them are basic farm animals. Lots of great playgrounds though. Probably not really worth it for £35 for a family of 4 when there are other great playgrounds around for free.
A great place for a family outing. The animal are well-cared for, and theres a wide variety of them, with good information as well as fun anecdotes such as nice and naughty animal of the week, which is great fun. The café is a little small but still holds vegetarian and vegan options, and the playground area is really fun both for children and grown-ups!
Really nice place for the under 10’s!Loved the old helicopter, tractor and fire engine that the kids could play on!Perfect day out with the family!
Very entertaining place for kids. Not only the animals but so many atractions at playgrounds, like the helicopter or the firebrigade, and the sandpool... also the feeding times worth the wait and all the info they give is interesting. S3veral hours can easily be spent with kids.
Lovely little Zoo Wirth a big playground - so much to see und do for little children
Great little zoo to see a range of small animals and farm animals. Best time to go on the weekend is mid morning to early afternoon. They have toilets and a cafe that sells sandwiches, ice creams, drinks and small snacks. If you have small children with you or babies, I suggest bringing food as they may not have healthy food suitable for young children and babies. The electric remote boats do not work so do not waste your coins. The electric water gun is fab. The playground, fire engine, helicopter and sandpit is fab. We saw lots of little animals monkeys, wild cats, armadillo, meerkats, bunnies, ducks etc. They also have a great range of farm animals and a reptile house with snakes, spiders etc. Closest entrance is Chelsea Bridge Gate.
Went as 2 adults with no kids ! Loved it, and the excellent weather helped. Spent an hour enjoying the wonderful animals, and an excellent feeding talk for the Lemurs. The many school parties with young children also seemed to enjoy the full facilities. Lots of play areas and pic-nic places.
Good for the kids. Enough animals for them to have a look at and a big play area with a helicopter, fire engine and a digger to play with/in.
Such a lovely little local zoo. A good selection of donkeys, sheep, pigs, birds, small monkeys, amphibians, bunnies, rats, goats, mice, meerkats and otters. Also has an awesome amount of play equipment that you could spend longer on than seeing the animals - a big castle climbing frame, fire engine, helicopter, sand diggers, a huge sand and water pit. Nice picnic area where you can relax and eat whilst watching them play. My only feedback would be that the sand pit smelt quite strongly of urine when we visited which was a bit off-putting, and some of the keepers arent the friendliest (although the animals are clearly well cared for and thats what matters). Theres a few small ride ons including a little vehicle carousel so bring some pound coins. A little cafe with basic hot drinks/ice creams etc and a good amount of cleanish toilets. Id bring your own picnic as much cheaper/quicker than the que. I also wish that the owl had a bigger enclosure though, it always looks so sad :( Their gift shop would do better with a slightly more varied content for the little ones. The surrounding Battersea Park and riverside walk is beautiful and theres more than enough to do for a whole day out.
Lovely little zoo. It has a fantastic play area with huge sandpit. The animals seem happy and well looked after. The cafe is quite basic but you dont visit for the food. I would say more suited for younger children (0-8unless your child is particularly into animals. My toddler loves it.
The kids were having a great time. Lots of play areas. Clean and well maintained. The animals seemed well-cared for. The little zoo was creatively displayed, lots of cool stuff to climb on.
Great family day out, small zoo but lots for kids to do. Ideal for autism/SEN families due to it not being too large. Nice variety of small animals. Really good play area too.
A great place to visit with kids or without 😊 There are a lot to explore and many different playgrounds for the kids. Little cafe with hot/cold drinks, sandwiches and ice cream and lots of sitting area. There are morning and afternoon feedings + talk from the keepers sharing interesting facts about the animals 🐵🐭🦎🦦🦔🦉 There is a Keeper Experience if you want to get closer with the animals. Check out their website for more info. Or you can adopt an animal or get some bits for the animals if you want to support the ZOO - check out their Amazon Wishlist ❤️
Nice little zoo in the middle of London. Great place to spend a morning or afternoon with the kids. Nice enclosures with animals that all look well looked after, healthy and have enough living space. Also a big playground with swings, sandbox etc. And they sell coffee and ice cream, what else do you need!
What a Brilliant day I had at battersea park children zoo!We went to the event ‘creepy crawly day’ that was held over Halloween/kids half term.A big thank you to the two lovely ladies working in the cabin who were so kind, patient and informative with all the children & also set up fantastic arts and crafts. My kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves & spoke about this day to all their friends and family members.
A lovely small zoo. Great for kids, and not too pricey. Sat in the middle of beautiful Battersea park, opposite the thames river. There always seemed to be feeding times and talks so there was always something to watch. The eating areas are pretty small but considering its a small zoo it’s expected, but there is enough space so not to worry. You can touch some of the animals, like the ponies and donkeys, but you cannot feed them your food. I had such a lovely time here, it was most amusing looking at the otters!
Perfect size for children to enjoy to the full. Not so big that they over-exhaust themselves running around but not so small that they quickly become bored.
My 2nd visit in 5days, I really love this place. A good place for kids to see animals without the usual huslting and bubbling.
Fantastic little zoo for a animal adventure. Staff do amazing talks at various times of the day about some of the animals. Lots of play areas & places to have lunch
Decent little zooExpected more for what I paid and as usual the strategically placed shop which you HAVE to go through to get out.Different prices on identical toys so watch out.
My 2 year old enjoyed running around and playing on the fire engine , he was more interested in running around than looking at the animals to be honest lol I also think the £8 fee for a 2 year old is too much, I think under 5 should be free or perhaps £4, but overall it makes for a nice day out
If youre looking for a London zoo alternative which isnt going to cost a crazy amount for your family in london, this zoo is a good choice. It has a decent selection of animals, the monkeys are really cool. But it also has a decent play area for young kids. It is rather small i must warn you and parts of the zoo are a little run down, but this is refelcted in the price i feel. Bring your own food if you can as they dont really have great options.
What a lovely little zoo! Fab selection of animals and they all look very well looked after. It’s a great size with kids, lots of places to sit, good places to play. The signage is well laid out and they are currently operating a one way system due to covid.Didn’t get a chance to try out the little cafes or ice cream shops as it was quite a flying visit. Looking forward to visiting again
Nice place to visit with kids. The have a nice selection of animals from monkey, sheep, Guinee pigs etc. They also have play areas which helps to break up the tour. It’s a nice day out.
I loved it. I visited as nanny to a toddler he loved it because he was able to see his favourite animal(monkey). I will go back as mum with my daughters. Its a lovely place with several playgrounds and kids can give wings to their imagination.
Very fun! Just the right size for small children as all the animals are close enough to see more than once. Lots of playgrounds! Bring a change of clothes if you want them to play in the water/sand area. Many picnic tables for a packed lunch. There is a small café as well with ice cream, tea, coffee, sandwiches etc. A great day out!
Its a small place and gives an impression of a play area than a zoo. But this could also be because they have temporarly closed down the care takers animal sessions (covid rulesso the kids are more inclined to play than focus on the animals. Overall..one can still enjoy the place and have a good day.
Fantastic day out with the kids. Great for sparking an interest in smaller animals. The kids loved the ring tailed lemurs, meerkats, donkeys, guinea pigs, frogs and crested cranes! Theres loads of safe climbing frames and a wooden castle with slides and some interactive digging machines. Thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Such a cute little zoo and its lovely walking round seeing all the animals, not packed with animals but well enough for the little kiddies. My daughter whose 4 loves the monkeys, especially the capuchins who are so cheeky and adorable. A small selection of the characters you meet round the zoo in the pictures 🦘🦔🐒🐖🐰
Loved this place to bits, you can see the animals are loved and taken care of, the cages are clean, they look happy, well fed, and most importantly, LOVED! The children had an amazing time, they enjoyed the vast play area as well. Everything is spotless clean, social distancing rules are respected. Visit this place and you won’t regret it. Thimbs up and kudos to the professional and dedicated staff!
The Battersea Park Childrens Zoo is not big,but there are many interesting animals like different kind of monkeys, meerkats, emu, lemurs, various species of birds and reptiles. Also there is play area with helicopter and fire engine and various activities for the children.
Main reason..The Zoo was the main reason we visited Battersea Park and the little one loved it.The location wasnt bad, about 15-20 minutes walk from where we entered the park. The entry price was alright for the adults, same really for kids, nothing crazy. There were many creatures to see, so you are not going to bored anytime. If you wanted to get some refreshments, theres a cafe for a quick pit stop plus seating outside with a little carousel to keep the little ones busy for a short amount of time. After all that, theres a gift shop just before you leave with some good goodies on sale.A must..
