Batik - Restaurant in Malaga, Spain
Neither fancy, or anything, mediocre place with mediocre service. 1 star for the view
I would like to give zero!!! I made a reservation ONE WEEK ago for our anniversary through internet with the request to have a nice table with view because of the occasion. When we arrive they told us that our table was not with view, was actually one of the worst in the middle of the way. They told us that internet reservations don’t have the same value. They are not a serious restaurant and they ruined our date!! If a restaurant allows internet reservations they should be able to comply with that! I will never go and i hope other people will understand how rude the staff is!!
The view is beyond nice, a bit poor value for money in some dishes but the costilla (beefwas super tender and flavorful
We had a great time at Batik! We were super spontaneous with our reservation (about 2h before arrivingso we got a low table more in the back of the restaurant. But shout out to the service! After asking for another table on the other side of the restaurant we got a high table with a way better view! We had a blast! The chocolate dessert we ordered looked heavenly and tasted even better. So did our drinks (fruity Rosé, recommended by the waiter and the Red Ginger Cocktail). Thank you Batik for a great cocktail and dessert experience 🍸🍷🍮
Second time at Batik and loved it even more than last year. Really nice view, amazing food (fine dining), great atmosphere. Carmen helped us during the evening and we were pampered by her. There where a lot of Spanish people dining here, which felt like a good thing for us.We shared the salmon sashimi, sprout salad and Foie Micuit (photo)… and of course a great bottle of wine. Ended our night with some cocktails at the rooftop bar (even more amazing views). Definitely a recommendation if you stay in Malaga for a couple of days.
Views stunning. Very reasonable pricing. Russian salad a bit disappointing but rest of food was great.
What a beautiful restaurant! I loved the atmosphere, the views, the food and the service! Everything was perfect
Don’t even bother showing up if you’re asian / have skin that isn’t white. I’m usually not one to play the race card but this is ridiculous. We reserved a table and showed up before anyone else. When we asked to be seated outside or near a window they told us no, despite allowing the 3 (whitegroups after us to sit outside when they asked to be moved. When they asked for the name on the reservation, they laughed at my friend’s ethnic name, and proceeded to sit us all the way at the other side of the restaurant where nobody else was. The impatient server came to our table almost immediately and was annoyed that we didn’t know what we wanted to order despite us only having sat down for a grand total of 30 seconds. We had read reviews stating that the food here was mediocre, but we were willing to come anyway due to the view (which we couldn’t see anyway due to being seated way in the back). Plenty of better restaurants in Malaga, don’t give this one your money.
Great view from the terrace, interesting menu items. Definitely worth visiting once.
Great experience with amazing food!
Nice location in Malaga great rooftop terrace with music and cocktails when you are hungry just go 1 floor down where you have a restaurant
Nice atmosphere, small portions.
Dear batik team i am sorry for you because the service was really nice and it was definitely not your fault. But it was one of the worse restaurant ever. Everything is frozen or poorly cooked. We had the chance to take the tasting menu to get a chance to discover everything. WHAT S TERRIBLE MISTAKE. We still had a good time and great laughter so thank you for that.
The chef doesnt put one in... neither does the sommelier. The tasting menu is a succession of disappointment that has consistency only in mediocrity. No taste, no flavors, frozen without hesitation. Sorry but not sorry…
Great terrace with amazing view of the fortress. Kind and professional staff.Expensive main courses ( around 20 euros eachfor a very small portion ( small dishes like entrances ones!), not so fair I my opinion but good taste at least ;)
The bouncer at the building entrance loves to lecture you covid wise going far beyond its responsibilities, making personal statements on the access criteria instead of following the regulations implemented by the junta de andalucia, in which there are three valid covid certificates (vaccination, negative test and recovery cert). Despite he finally let us access in a very condescending way, it was a very unpleasant experience. I’m from Malaga and I always liked to take visits to this place as it used to be nice. Won’t be doing it anymore in a while, nowadays there are plenty of rooftop terraces in Malaga you can go.
Amazing view! But warm beer and so-so food. The ceviche was lacking, the scallop risotto completely overseasoned with pepper. Staff could have tried a bit harder. Perhaps we caught them on an off day...
The food really wasn’t good!1. The croquettes: the outside was soft and the filling tasted really bitter2. Ceviche: it was more vegetables than fish, fish wasn’t sliced like it should (thin), fish was dry and you almost didn’t taste the sauce3. Risotto with scallops: the scallops were chewy, and the risotto was in a soup of creamy sauce, that will def make you nauseous, not at all like a risotto should be!We send all the dishes back. They did gave our money back.I guess the view is beautiful. But the quality of how the food is made is bad! The combination are original and fun. But the execution of it lacks….We did really like the view!I hope the restaurant will work on these dishes. Best of luck.
Nice place but what a bad experience. The food was very poor, especially the risotto which was more like rice pudding. And the scallops that never came after more than 1 hour waiting.
Great location, food and service! Good price as well! I will definitely be back!
Bad food, bad service… Almost nobody wants to speak english. Strange if you are in a place full of tourists. Prices are ‘ok’ but the ribbs are full of fat. Also not giving you a very welcome feeling. After there was a hair in the main dish they started to be friendly.. Too bad… Just one advice: DON’T GO HERE!!!!It’s a waste of money and time. There are so much more good restaurants. We expected a lot and waited for this restaurant till the last day of our stay and this was BY FAR the worst place!!!
The food is perfect, really tasty, especially the creamy rice dessert 😍
When it open it was a nice place, the rooftop is still nice and the view has not changed. But the food and service😷 Will not even recommend my worst enemy to go to go and eat there, Nasty to say the least...Im a loyal customer to Malaga Premium Hotels, like Yuba and Bendito thats resturants in Malaga in the same chain that serve premium food! But this is a joke! Por favor que pasa?
Doesnt have nice views, maybe a few tables outside which are impossible to book. For the views go to the bar above. It was ridiculously warm inside, the AC was not on, just the fans. Not worth coming for a dinner, it was nothing special.
Great view - delicious food - and perfect service.Nice roof top bar - to take a sundowner & relax.
Nice place. The atmoshere, food, vine - everything was good.
Servicio muy malo! Overpriced for poor quality food!! We were 5 people and got served our dish with at least 5minutes in between. We were eating each one of us by ourselves.. do yourself a favor and just have a drink here but FORGET ABOUT THE FOOD
Good food and really cool vibes. Stuff really nice. If you’re lucky to stay in the terrace you’ll see an amazing view
Fantastic Rooftop Bar, where we started our 18th year old suns birthday dinner, just below the apartment of Antonio Banderas. We saw the Malaga Sunset from there and ofcouse the illuminated Alcabaza Castle. Than we went 1floor lower and we had a superb dinner with a view. We really liked the vietnamese rolls with prawns inside, the prawns as tapas and the spicy : tuna tartar as a main dish . Also the waiter was very good and explained everything very well. It was a great night!
A very nice restaurant with an amazing view. Its located on the 4th floor and you have panoramic view of the city. Very good food nice service, great wine list. The view from the terrace is just amazing, even of you dine inside get out for a drink.
Beautiful view, nice food and honestly its my fauvorite restaurant in Malaga now
amazing croissant, good coffee and a nice view. was there alone so i was serviced right away. not a very wise range of food, but the place gets its charm.from its athmospgere.and terasse with the view on. he Alcazaba and Roman theater.
Great views, decent food. The place if formally open all day, but the kitchen closes at 12 and then doesnt open again until 13.30.
Amazing place. Great gourmet food. Awesome Alcazabar views from terrace. Good service. Perhaps one of the best quality/ price balance in Spain (not just Malaga but Spain). One of my easiest five stars review. I recommend beetroot hummus. But almost everything Id tried was great.
The food here was really nice but the service was terrible. Im not going to name all the problems we had. If they train the waiters properly and organize the service better then this place would be a 5. The location is great and the decor is really well thought out.
Food was ok, nothing special. Service however was terrible. We had to wait for ages to get the food and check. Also there were 3 groups celebrating hen night next to us and it was very noisy. Dont recommend going there.
One star and because it’s not possible to give less. A pretentious restaurant with the worst kitchen service ever and several uncomfortable chairs to eat sat down. The owner seems to be more worried about the design and decoration instead of thinking about the confort of clients. After nearly two hours we only got a mini spring roll and a ridiculous plate of risotto. Everything is overpriced. We left the restaurant completely hungry (and angry). People around us had the same problems. Slow even to charge you...According to the waiters the reason of such a poor service was that the kitchen manager was on his paternity leave and a new one started working in the kitchen, however reading reviews you will find similar reviews to this one even 7 months ago!! Definitely the kitchen manager is a lucky guy with such a long break...Will never come back.P.S: The ridiculous bit of pork on the photo cost 19€!!!! And a glass of beer with soda 3€!!!
Nice traditional/fusion food in an excellent mood. Great for dinner! The best, amazing views of La Alcazaba.
The restaurant has clean, modern environment and a terrace with amazing view. The waiters are very welcoming. Food is great and not expensive. They have selected weekly menu which is great!
Though a little bit on the pricey side, the food tastes good and looks great. And quite creative too! Of course the view of Alcazaba will add to the whole dining experience.
We went to the bar on the rooftop. The view is great. The prices for drinks are reasonable. But the places are limited. Reserve in advance, otherwise its difficult to find a place.
Came here twice on our holiday in Malaga, once for dinner, had a great selection of food and drinks! We also returned later in the week for a coffee and to enjoy the great view! What recommend a visit if you even just for a glass of wine and the view!
Fantastic restaurant with great views of the Alcazaba! Menu during the week is a fantastic deal. We loved the carnitas tacos, caesar salad and pumpkin puree. Highly recommend.
Best most innovative food at amazingly cheep prices, and with an outstanding view! 10/10! Tip call to make a reservation with 2-3 days in advance to get a table on the terrace! Its totally worth it!
Having a lunch at 4th floor restaurant was wonderful experience. Great tastes and good service. My cold smoked salmon tartar was superb.
Very nice rooftop bar! Great view, music and atmosphere!
On the 5th floor, there is a pretty amazing terrasse where you will enjoy drinking with ur friends. No food available there : you will have to go down 1 level to Batik
We had a drink at the rooftop terrace whilst watching the gorgeous views and sunset...later, enjoyed dinner in the restaurant a floor below where the food was innovative and outstanding! I would really recommend both the rooftop bar and restaurant!
Nice view, good food. Asian inspired, which is a nice change in spain sometimes. Service was ok, not over the top. The place is a bit romantic though so maybe not ideal for a group of friends. We felt out of space.
We was here for the special New years eve dinner, and it was perfect. The meals are delicious (maybe they can reduce the size of each dish, I couldnt eat the last dish because I was too full). The service was a little bit hushed towards the end, because they need to serve everything before midnight, maybe they need more organization here, but the staff is very helpful and kind, so its all OKThe top terrace bar was perfect, great view, the cocktails are included in the price of the dinner. We had a great time there
