Small collection of artifacts, exhibits & mail tracing the history of the British postal service.
Great place. Really interesting great place to spend a couple of hours with children
Klein museum, heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Leuke weetjes over post en de geschiedenis van de postzegel.
A very small museum with few exhibits, housed in a stuffy basement. The information was generic and poorly typed with spelling and grammatical errors. Ive seen greater attention to detail on Wikipedia articles. The lady at the till was struggling without her husband who was engrossed in conversation with a patron about his long and dull life. I wouldnt recommend unless you are an ardent philatelist who fancies seeing items with little to no historical precedent.
Wow, very interesting place 😍😍😍
They cram a lot in a small space. Very interesting.
Visited before lockdowns its a very small museum but a lot of items to look at and information I enjoyed seeing how the vehicles looked and changed over time. This is a great place to visit but very small so try to find out when the quieter times are if youre not comfortable in busy spaces
The wait time was mostly due to the museum guide selling tickets talking for ages before entrance, they are not busy and so give rather passionate if long/rambling tours.
Great little museum, worth the £5 entry
Although quite small this museum is a must see. It traces the history of the early postal system and has some dress-up clothes for both adults and children plus some interactive areas.
I only visited the shop as I unfortunately didnt have time to stop by the museum on this occasion. However, I would definitely recommend popping in, even if its just for stamps (they sell them at the same price as the post office but have a selection of commemorate stamps - these are special stamps with pictures on instead of the classic queens head design). The museum is a charity and is run by volunteers so as well as donations, bookings, it relies on shop sales to run.In my short visit, I found the volunteers to be really friendly and helpful. The shop is small but theres a lot packed in! As well as the commemorative stamps mentioned above, of which they sell first, second, £1.70 bundles and E stamps, they also have mini sheets, FDCs (first day coversand other stamp collectibles. They also had postcards related to the museum, PHQ cards (individual and full setsand maxicards. They had such a good variety (better in fact than the Postal Museum in Londonthat I thoroughly enjoyed just browsing.I am hoping to come back and have a look around the museum on my next visit to the city. But if youre in the area, pop in even just for a look around the shop - its a real hidden gem if youre interested in anything postal-related!
Great little museum but has limited opening hours
Unfortunately I didnt get to visit the museum as the days and hours have been reduced from those shown by Google.
An enjoyable and fairly small museum with a surprising amount of interactive activities to enjoy. I took my son here when he was being home educated and the information was presented attractively, in bite sized chunks. A great day out and it is free too!
Little but very informative and interesting museum. Big thanks to museum Curator for historical facts.
The man who runs it is so knowledgeable about the early post office and the roles of the Bath worthies. History lesson thrown in. Very good value. Exhibits good too.
A history of the postal system as it relates to Bath and its patrons. Interesting facts and documents as well as visiting exhibits.
Small but utterly packed with interesting information - especially if you talk to the staff, they know an incredible amount about the history and politics of Bath and how it relates to Ralph Allen and the post office.
Small but entertaining museum overseen by friendly staff. Well worth the entrance fee.
It was shut despite saying open on the website. Very disappointed as we ha dplanned our day around it and ended up with lots of time. To. Kill. Would try it again another time!
Only a small museum ,but very interesting ,
Definitely worth a visit. Stop over for an interesting journey through the history of stamps. Necessary for any philatelist 😋
Good place for kids
Excellent and unique with a very knowledgeable man on the door!
Very nice Womans introduced us. Tge exhibition is tiny and I wasnt impressed even though they have Media and so on
Bath Postal Museum is full of fascinating facts - worth a visit if in the area.
Nice experience
A small museum full of British history. Interactive exhibits and lots of information about the Royal Mail and its development. The entry fee is reasonable, and the staff are very friendly and highly knowledgeable.Definitely worth an hour of your time.
Excellent museum
Beneath the post office in Bath. Interesting and with informative, helpful staff. But the displays are a little dated.
Good little museum explaining Baths postal history.
Маленький и интересный музей для тех кто коллекционирует марки.
Wonderful little Museum. Take the time to tour it slowly and check out each exhibit.
A compact museum. Its small but not lacking, theyve even managed to include activities for young children. Lots of original artefacts, including memoirs from people who worked in the postal service in the 1930s. Really worth the visit for being a comprehensive and interesting museum.
beautiful
A cracking little museum located underneath the Post Office. Quite small but lots to see and do. If youve got your children with you when you are next at the Post Office then consider visiting.
Not at all but good
Quite small, but well packed with stuff to interest children and adults. No toilets, which turned out to be an issue with our children...
