Pfistergasse 17, 6003 Luzern, Switzerland, Luzern
An 8-minute walk from Luzern railway station, this unassuming hotel is 6 minutes' walk from Kapellbrücke covered wooden footbridge and 3.1 km from the Swiss Museum of Transport. The subdued rooms feature free Wi-Fi, TVs and ceiling fans. Some rooms add air-conditioning. There are rooms that sleep up to 8 people.Amenities include a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub, a courtyard and a covered terrace with seating.
The room was cozy and very clean. We were greeted by really nice reception staff and he helped us out with parking.
Everything is perfect except the elevator is small. The staff are very kind. The jacuzzi in the pool is great as it is hot water. The room is spacious enough. The bathroom has a bathtub and plenty of space around the toilet.Kindness with not only toilet paper but also tissue paper. The windows open wide and there is an air conditioner, so it is very comfortable. The Yun Nan Tea House, a Chinese restaurant diagonally across from the hotel, is casual, but the tea and food are of a very high standard. That restaurant made my stay in Luzern a more wonderful experience. Its a miracle that this excellent hotel and high quality Chinese restaurants are so close.I will definitely come here again if I stay in Lucerne.
I would be very careful of staying here… I stayed with my partner in room 402 and woke up bitten all over with flea bites. We told the manager and didn’t seem to do anything about it. We left that same day to a different hotel…Seriously though I never complain or write reviews but In this case I though it is necessary to let people know because it will ruin your stay…On a separate note, I would put pictures as proof but concerned for privacy issues… just hope this will be helpful and that someone in charge in the hotel will take care of it as the person in reception didn’t seem very responsive.
Room was not prepared when i got there. Had to ask for a duvet and bathtowel myself. Airco in room not cold.
The service here was great, the location is unbeatable, and rooms are clean. Only knock is a small jacuzzi. I recommend.
Straßensperren könne man umfahren (???).
Great experience. A real oasis midst in the town! Cheap but great. To be revisited anytime
Weve been upgraded to a room in the Baslertor Hotel from their Guesthouse across the street! It was a night surprise :)The service is very welcoming and the price is low for its perfect central location. The hotel looks a little bit old but for the price its enough
❤️❤️❤️
This is not hotel... For me its like pension 30years ago... No fridge no airco. Bathroom look like camping toilet... A lot of spider and other insect. View from window is also drama. Breakfast is in another place (another restaurant). Swimming pool is small and in another place too.price is like a 4star hotel but not look even like 1... If you like spend nice time please dont come here...
Super small room and bathroom, ugly old interiors. Nothing compared to the pictures in the website.
Nice small hotel in Lucern, Switzerland. Good location and not far from all the shops and the very scenic lake. Expensive and over priced for the facilities and the size of the room but hey you are in Switzerland probably the most expensive country in Europe to visit.
Room and wash room small size .
Pool is freezing which was a bad thing on the first day but when its 35° its very appreciated. Rooms have everything we needed and lots of breakfast places nearby. Air con in rooms is a saviour!
Big rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast
Very central great location.Although no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Nice hotel walking distance from most of the tourist attractions.
Lovely hotel, you are getting a bargain here. Close to the water and walking distance to the Lion Monument and ample parking down the street. The pool is well added bonus.
Excellent pool and outdoor terrace. Large light and airy room over the front street with glimpse of the river.
Good location but pathetic hotelTiny roomsNo acFans completely ineffectiveOkay to come in winters but never in summers
Beautiful hotelSmall and cute with cozy ambienceThey have jacuzzi and a small pool tooVery well maintainedNearby to train station buses and tramsBest location to stay since it’s walkable to many tourist attractionsI would recommend you to stay here if u visit Lucerne,Switzerland
best hotel in lucerne old city.awesome customer service.nice rooms with balcony.pool and steam bath facility.
Was on the 5th floor for one night and I enjoyed my experience. The room was suitable for two people and was expectedly small. The only big negative was the lack of any air conditioning which was somewhat offset by having a fan and a door and window that opened. I could see it being a bit of an issue on hotter days. Otherwise, service was fine, its close to one of the cheaper parking garages, and I havent gotten any stray charges (yetso I consider that a win.
A very good place for its price
Great location, cozy hotel with everything needed.
Nice location, next to river and walkable from station. The rooms dont have A/C.
Rooms so hot ventilation not good
Enjoy privacy
Amazing experience since we are tight next to bakeries and shops so it is easy
Simple. Moderately clean. Shower pressure is poor
Comfortable stay, nice location. However pool wasnt open and the room curtains and carpets were a little oldish. The bed was really comfortable though !
Very good hotel close to the attractions
Fairly clean and small.
This hotel was ok. It was more in line with a hostel that has private rooms. The room got very warm at night and the beds were not that great. The wifi was pretty good good.
Overpriced hotel for the quality. The beds were gross and rooms were tiny. Felt more like a hostel than a hotel.
good rooms
Amazing hotel beside river, I still remember when I woke up early morning and look out side from window, wooo it was like I was dreaming.Hotel staff was very nice and caring
I stay here quite regularly during business travels. The Baslertor is a little dated in terms of décor, the place could really do with a refurbishment to make it more modern. However, in an expensive city this is a great value for money hotel. It’s just a short walk from the main train station and all the main attractions of the city. The hotel does not offer breakfast but there is a small café directly opposite which is great for breakfast. I’m not sure if that’s a seasonal thing as they did offer breakfast during a couple of my stays here in the summer. A number of other hotels I have stayed at in Luzern are on main roads and the traffic gets very loud disturbing your sleep. The Baslertor is on a small side street that is very quiet so no trouble with traffic noise. There rooms are basic, there are no tea or coffee making facilities or a fridge in the room. It would be a really nice little addition to be able to make tea/coffee in the room. They do have free wi-fi in all rooms which is of a very good standard. They also have a small business centre where you can get wired internet access for the business travellers needing a hard wired connection. This is a great hotel, in a great location for a great price. It just needs a little sprucing up to bring it up to more modern standards.
Small and old hotel. Good positioning good price also
A fantastic bargain in a very expensive city, Baslertor is a two minute walk from the Kappelbrucke and all of the dining and cultural experiences. It is a small hotel, somewhat dated yet clean and more than adequate.Parking is off site, 2 blocks away, and it isnt free. The bar closes too early. But the price is right. At the time of my stay it was around $200 USD per night, which sounds like a lot to Americans for a modest hotel, but a nice room in this town will run you $700 and up.
