Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe - Catholic church in Buenaventura Lakes, United States
What a wonderful place to come to! Beautiful, serene, and inspirational! Definite must see for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. While touring the church, I was lucky enough to hear and meet Mr. William Picher, the church organist, and director of Liturgy and Church Music. A very nice and personable man, and an incredible organist! Listening to him play/making notes while taking in the beauty of the Basilica was absolutely transcendent! Talk about a religious experience! I was so enthralled with his performance I purchased one of his recordings in the gift shop.Do yourself and your family a favor, visit the Queen of the Universe Basilica, and try to hear Mr. Picher if you can. Its a once in a lifetime experience!
Loved it! Was raised Catholic but now consider myself a Cristian. Either way I like going with my mom to a Catholic mass once in a while. This church is beautiful. Only regret is taking my 8 year old with me to hear the priest during his sermon say that while we sleep we are practicing for the moment of our death. That is pretty deep to throw out there for the little minds listening and learning. Keep it family friendly. I personally did not agree with the part of his sermon this Sunday being thrown out there like that.
Beautiful Catholic Church! A must see whenever visiting the parks especially for Catholics who want to attend Mass while on vacation.
Lovely and amazing place, although Orlando spanish speaking population is huge, having a church in a Spanish area shoukd have at least 1 spanish mass... am I wrong?
Beautiful!! I have watched this amazing church be built over the years. It is gorgeous and the priests always do a wonderful Mass. We love visiting when we are in the area!
Great church to visjt for Sunday mass when at Disney! A little more modern that I prefer but very beautiful.
Wonderful church, worth attending. We were visiting from Michigan and enjoyed Mass and walking around checking out the grounds.
Beautifully crafted Church of GOD. Amazing architecture, statue at entrance of Michael, stained glass windows throughout, art and prayer places. The music and sound echoes off the church and can be felt providing great sermon and gospel. The gift shop boasts your sought after pieces from crosses to necklaces to statues to prayer to books to music.A must visit when in the area. You might even see an otter 🦦 under the bridge.
The basilica is beautiful. The grounds a are beautiful. We were able to easy come to Saturday night Mass via Uber from Pop Cenury at Disney World. There was a choir that sang beautifully.
Beautiful and special church
Beautiful. Inspiring. Peaceful. Mass times are on the website. Plenty of space to social distance. Easy to get to when visiting the theme parks in town. Update: I just went back while in Orlando again and I enjoyed mass even more this time. It is a quick rideshare trip to any Disney or Universal parks from here. The parishioners are welcoming and this time we found the gift shop which had a wide selection of gifts. A must see if it is open when you come!!
Beautiful. Attended the noon service also.
Beautiful church very near Disneyworld and the Orlando Premium outlet store . Beautiful pond w turtles and stained glass windows
Very beautiful church! You feel the the holy spirit as you enter into the church
Beautiful building it’s for the tourists. Not homey like my Catholic Church in Clermont! Fr Bobs Retirement 😢
Moved to Kissimee from London. Looked for a Catholic church. Here it is. 20 minutes drive away. Very clean and a convenient place. Also, very close to an outlet shopping centre. 5 stars. Thank you Lord we are blessed.
Such a beautiful church! Full of amazing sacred art. I went to daily Mass. It was very peaceful and welcoming. I brought the whole family back. We spent a couple of hours looking at the art and the gift shop full of gorgeous religious items.
Beautiful, modern stained glass and gorgeous statues of Christ and Our Lady. My favorite is the Creation window, but they are all wonderful.
Beautiful sanctuary!! Very peaceful. 5 starsThe gift shop (2 starscashier could be a bit more friendly seeing she works in the house of God. She was not welcoming and didnt even crack a smile.
Its just beautiful and cool and welcoming. The stained glass windows of Biblical pictures are great as are the statues.Of course Jesus is present in the tabernacle and there is Adoration chapel. There is a small gift shop.Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
This is a beautiful church. It has a very peaceful & spiritual atmosphere. Every time Im in Orlando I try to visit and for at least five minutes just to spend some time silently praying and meditating. Its staff is very welcoming and friendly and the church really does provide a calm place for christians to go and pray. I always leave feeling strong after praying here.
O what a beautiful cathedral! A wonderful and peaceful place to worship and relax. Friendly congregation, a gift shop and lots of parking
It was a joy to come back to the Holly Basílica and Shrine of Virgin Mary, nondoubt a spiritual reawakening. We were blessed to be on time for mass. Take time visit devotedly the minor chapels adjacent to the Basilica. Blessings to all.
Went to 10am mass there on Easter Sunday. Stunning church and mass. The grounds and the buildings architecture are beautiful. The rector was very welcoming and the choir was outstanding. The acoustics added to the ethereal quality of the choirs voices. They did a rendition of the Hallelujah which made you think you were at a professional concert. At the conclusion of the song the entire congregation erupted in applause. Added to the fact that Easter is the most cherished mass of the Catholic faith, it was a celebration the likes of which I will never forget.
Love to attend religious services when vacationing in Orlando Florida during the holiday season. My family feels at home with parishioners alike. Take the short time out as thereafter is within Proximity to Parks, shopping and fine dining.
Architecture is beautiful.Loved the center piece in the lobby area of the church. Loved the ukraine piece
Absolutely breathtaking. Ginna had helped me find my familys memorials. I truly appreciate all her help and patience
Very nice and welcoming church. A beautiful place of peace and joy. Have been there a few times for Sunday mass and it is always great to praise and worship our Lord with that community. Thank you all!
Beautiful Shrine!!! I loved all the statues.Such serenity and peace in this place.Perpetual adoration in the chapel behind the altar. It was awesome to get some one on one time with Jesus!!!
Visited for Christmas mass .. great church and the choir was out of this world!! So glad we could make this as part our visitPlenty of parking available
It will be better if the Basilica website will indicate yearly holiday masses and not just say example, Christmas Day 12/25/21 and falls on a Saturday but it indicates in red “ Christmas Day hours may differ”. This leave the church goers especially Tourists who would not know the exact hours of masses. Another suggestion is the phone message can be updated every change of hours of masses especially major holidays. Thank you.
This place of worship brings me back (60s and 70swhen you actually feel positive about religion. I was raised Catholic so everytime I visit the area, I will attend more of their services.
I went to the 6:00pm Mass. The organ pipes, and the church bells rang before and after the mass was finished. The inside of the BASÍLICA is beautiful. The museum will be opened after Thanksgiving and the Christmas Stable will be back to be seen by every one. The masks are required and, do not shake your hands with your neighbors hands at the sign of peace.
Basilica is super beautiful. Totally worth going to If your in the area. The only thing was the sanctuary was super modern which Im not a fan of but thats a personal preference.
Sacred ground for tourists from around the world looking for spiritual solace during vacation or visits to Orlando. A blessing to all who come.
For a newer church I think they made good attempts to have traditionally styled architecture.I greatly appreciated that the eucharistic minister didnt try to invalidly impart blessings on children who arent receiving communion. (Youll see that in a lot of parishes, and its nonsense, but it didnt happen here, thankfully.)
My family and I went for the 8AM Easter Service. With us still living during a pandemic it’s great to see that they took measures for everyone’s safety. You must wear a mask of course and they even added more seats since there are pews vacant due to social distancing practices. On top of that once the mass is over they sanitized the seating areas in between masses.
Be prepared for an amazing atmosphere and breathe taking stained glass artwork. Came here first thing in the morning at 10am and it was completely worth the trip. Theres also a wonderful gift shop worth looking around. Definitely word recommend coming here with your partner or family. Be sure to take pictures as well but be courteous of others around you.
Beautiful grounds and building. Choir must have jobs during the week doing theme song soundtracks for Disney movies. They are absolutely phenomenal! Large, well stocked gift shop on the property. Very interesting and informative display room of the history of Pilgrimages with a timeline since the birth of Christ. Lovely priest announced his retirement along with his twin brother who con-celebrated our Mass. Very touching moments, even for us as visitors.
One of the best worship places near Orlando. Highly spacious and is having very good surroundings. Gift shop is having lots of variety valuable items. They can accommodate around 3k worshipper for a single mass. They do have an adoration Chappel immediately behind the Altar, which is very nice and Calm and beautiful place to worship.
Beautiful area. I go when there aren’t masses being held because I love to just focus on the moment and then to enter the quiet serenity of the Shrine. Because of the ongoing construction, only the chapel is available for contemplation and payer. Edit: the church is open again as of 12/19. The chapel is small but luminous with stained glass of dark blue with stars peering through. It perfect place to sit or kneel and pray or meditate. I appreciate that they keep it open anytime. There’s also a large fountain in the middle of the foyer where you can get holy water. And there’s a family of otters that live on the grounds and they like to swim in the little pond area.
Beautiful, spacious shrine with a wonderfully stocked gift shop and peaceful garden for prayers and/or meditation. You should be able to find what you are looking for at their gift shop. The gift shop offers an assortment of prayer books, rosaries, prayer cards, crucifixes, icons, statues, and seasonal items. The museum is small, but warming.I left Florida just before the completion of their pipe organ install. Wish I had more time to spend here!** FILL UP ON GAS OUTSIDE THIS AREA IF YOU CAN! Gas prices sky high! **
Peaceful. Daily confessions. Museum. Awesome gift shop. Not yet "feeling tourist invaded" which is a good thing. Churches are a place of worship and prayer - not posing for prayer. The Lords Prayer is sung in the traditional hymn which everyone knows - yay! Love the choir - would love to hear more traditional music since the church goers are mostly tourists. Ill be back!
Beautiful, peaceful environment. The Basilica has beautiful artwork and offers many gifts in the gift shop. We arrived when the pipe organ is in construction, but hope to return to see the main chapel!
Very beautiful Basilica, even with the ongoing renovations in progress. The presiding priest was very welcoming to visitors during Mass, and the gift shop had a large variety of religious articles including some very beautiful statues that they could ship for you (with reasonable shipping feesto your residence. We had a beautiful statues of Our Lady of Fatima shipped to our home in California for only $40. Also, absolutely loved the choir. Their singing befiited the grandeur of this amazing place.
Breathtaking! This spiritual gem should not be missed while your visiting Disney. Off International Drive, near outlets and Sea World, give your soul some well deserved refreshment and spirit a unique lift. Youll be so happy you did.
Beautiful, peaceful place to spend time w/ the Father, His Son and Mary, Queen of the Universe. Stunning architectural designs and sculptures. This church does miracle - i got healed from a 3-yr lump in my throat right on my first visit in Dec 2018... I was getting worried it could turn into cancer. My family doctor and ENT Specialist said they were muscle reflexes. So they gave me high-powered script to relax but never helped. They threw me into a lot of lab tests. Lump continued but after I went home from this beautiful Basilica after attending a Sunday mass, the next Monday morning while rushing for work, I realized the lump was gone. As in 100% gone.. I dont know, its a truth beyond belief. Just something is saying "I am real, I am here ". Since then I keep coming back as God would allow me to, every Sunday even though Im a bit far like 1hr drive one way. Currently, I love praying the Rosary at the adoration chapel after mass or before. My 3-yr old baby loves this place too and she is very excited every time i tell her we will go to Papa Jesus house. ^_^
A beautiful Basilica. We were blessed to be here for the Epiphiny of our Lord. The Nativity was breathtakingly beautiful. The Cantor, Kelly, has a wonderful voice. When come to Orlando you really need to visit the Basilica and attend Mass.
Beautiful but too modern for my taste, especially the crucifix. The stained glass may be the best Ive seen in the U.S. The whole campus is nicely done, so dont limit your visit to the church itself.
Usually, I don’t see any young adults and teenagers in church, but these tourists were actually attracted to this cathedral. It is very large and spacious and is a very beautiful cathedral. There is even a huge manger scene near the main lobby. See the magnificence for yourself. However, there is no sound dampening, so the priest presiding can be loud at times, as it is a huge cathedral. However, overall it is worth visiting.
