Basilica of the Annunciation in Haifa

Very interesting site but it was crowded.

At first my wife couldn’t get inn so she had to wait outside. A place of importance to the Christian Catholics. It seems without any spiritual vibe. Lots of icons from different places in the world showing Virgin Mary and Jesus.

What a beautiful spot to marvel at. Dress respectfully and modestly, come and be awed. All are welcomed

Beautiful Catholic basilica built on top of ruin believed to be where angel Gabriel announce to Mary that she would conceive Jesus. The basilica is decorated with arts depicting Mary from around the world.

Mine oh mine! This church is in old Nazareth, beautiful architecture. The cave which was Mary’s house where the angel visited her is covered with glass, tourist can get a good view from inside the church but not allowed in the home down the church. Still a sight to behold

Very well maintained grounds. The site where the arch Angel Gabriel showed himself to Mary is a very special place. You can feel it in your soul.

The most impressive church I’ve ever seen. It is modern, huge, tho it still preserve the old trails from Jesus’s time.Also, in the church’s yard, there are icons from all around the world, and it’s interesting to see different cultures picturing the holy family in their own way.You can visit the church for free, there is no fee.

Beautiful artwork inside the church. Definitely worth a visit. No need to pay to enter but respect the place. One of the most holy sites for Christianity

a very important, religious, historical place. This is where the angel Gabriel appeared & told Mary she was pregnant with the son of god. The church is not very outlavish. The donations on the outer halls from different countries are really nicely done. With looking at each if them.

The Christians & The Catholics believe this is the place that Mary has received good news from God.

Wow... Amazing to see where Mary likely lived and was visited by the angel Gabriel. Seeing the old town ruins gives great context to this part of the biblical account. Praise God for His indescribable gift of Jesus Christ! The modern church built over this spot is impressive, but not particularly meaningful compared to the reality of what may have taken place here. The town of Nazareth, otherwise, is dirty, stinky and not impressive. “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip replied, “Come and see.” John 1:46 NET 😉

One of the most famous and touristic place in Nazareth.An entrance is free but be careful and wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees at least.You can find a gallery with frescoes from different countries. Also basilica is open for visiting.Unfortunately the Museum on the territory was closed.Good for visit.

You feel the peace and powerful energy here. It is the house where Mary the mother of Jesus lived. It is believed that Mary lived in a cave here and traveled so much to see her cousin to let her know about the annunciation.

As a muslim I dont understand much about catholic orthodox etc separation. St. Mary is very special for us so I decided to take the trip for 2 hours and visit this place. There is a chapter of quran thats named "Meryem"Church is very nice designed with art mosaic and stained glasses from all over the world. I wish this place was a interreligious place where you can read and understand what two religions have in common instead of differences.

One can light up an electric candle 🕯in this church - I really liked this idea as I believe that it is more friendly to the environment.Another thing that I liked is an alley with the paintings and mosaics to the church from all over the world 🌎 One can find donations from the South America, India, and my homeland Ukraine 🇺🇦 It feels really good to find things related to your country when you are that far from it, especially when your country is under attack from the terrorist russian state.If you plan your visit in advance, I also recommend to bring coins and cash for the donations to support the church.

Alot better than I expected. Beautiful Church with historic sites. If you are in Israel, recommend spending a couple hours in Nazareth.

What a beautiful place to get connected with some of the Jesus, Mary, and Joseph history. This place is a must for every person reaching for a great historical destination in Nazaret. The entrance is free and you can walk inside the churches, you can even attend to mass, just look for schedules inside facilities

Beautiful place in the center of Nazareth, open untill 5pm and free to visit. Inside you can see very colorful windows and many latin inscriptions. The thing i liked more was the collection of Maria portrait from all over the world. I strongly recommend to visit it and maybe take some pictures at night, because with all the lights on its amazing.

Beautiful, amazing, spiritual and peaceful place! As a Catholic being able to visit the place where The annunciation happened to the Virgin Mary was a simply wonderful and religious experience. The church is beautiful, on the exterior you can see images of the Virgin Mary for all different countries, worth to enjoy each one of them.

A very peaceful oasis in the middle of Nazareth. Here the Angel Gabriel announced that His Holiness Christ Jesus would be born. You get reminded of the Mighty Covenant of Our Good Lord. The Promise that He will always guide the human race. As a Bahái,visiting this holy precinct reminds me of Bahaulláhs teaching that religion and its revelation is a Progressive reality. That Christ is a true Manifestation of The Almighty God and that one can not be called a Bahái until he/she recognises the Divine station of Christ and attest to the truth of His teachings.

Large and impressive church. You can also see there artworks and the remains of the ancient Nazareth village . The inside structure is very massive. No entry fee.

Must visit place in Nazareth. It is the most famous and important church by its historic value. This holy church is the Mother Mary’s home. Marvelous architecture with great interior. Can see mosaics pictures Mother Mary around the courtyard of different countries. Amazing atmosphere, can feel the holy vibes. The grounds and some places were closed, due to Covid-19.

This is the most famous and important Church in Nazareth. Built by the Franciscan order on the site of anceint Churches that stood here in the 4th and 12th century. Archaeological remains of the Byzantine and Crusader structures are embbed into the modern building.

My trip here was an experience unlike most who journey here. The grounds and church were empty, due to Covid-19. I spent a while wandering around the outside, marveling at the breathtaking murals representing a variety of nations. The architecture is gorgeous, with beautiful reliefs and inscriptions, in both the stone structure and wooden doors. The interior of the church is marvelous and brings great reverence to the archaeological site which sits at the center of the interior.The remains are extraordinary and quite well preserved. The columns are something to behold, as well as the inscriptions.I was awestruck at the architectural design of the atrium and the domed overhead. The quiet atmosphere struck an awesome tone, impressing upon me the nature of this location.

impressive 3 floor church. it is huge. very modern. interesting artworks of the virgin mary dedicated from all over the world. its really beautiful and a lovely place to attend a sunday service.

This magnificent and beautiful basilica was built over the place where according to Catholic tradition Maria received the announciation of bearing god.s child as well as on top of the ruins of a more ancient church. It combines perfectly and intelligently a modern structure over the ancient architecture of the older church... perserving parts of it, and building around it, making it one of the more architectually interesting churches to visit, besides its apparent beauty.The mosaics are beatiful and the large colored glass window allows the devine light to enter in the best architectual tradition of churches. The great hall allows great space and freedom of movement, but the truly magnifucent aspect is the preservation of the old church on which this modern structure was built. Also the high cieling with its angular shape truly bring out a modern feel to a very ancient strory.

The design of the church is amazing, totally different atmosphere of the upper and lower part of the church. God’s glory filled with the upper level while humble humanity found in the lower level. A church with such rich of theological sense.

So amazing to experience Mary, Joseph and Jesus actual home. To get pray at such a spiritual place where Christianity started. Prayed for 3 things. The next day one of them came true. Less than 12 hours later. Power of the Lord is amazing. So grateful to have the privilege to have share this place with friends, sister and my love.This is a bucket must see!!

The Church is located in the center of the City of Nazareth, on Casa Nova Street. It stands over the site that was believed to be the site of Marys house, where angel Gabriel appeared and announced to Mary that she is about to give birth of Jesus (Luke 1, see Biblical reference below).Four earlier Churches were built in the same location and archaeological  excavations in this site revealed early Roman settlements

Historical site, there are 4 churches, one in another, the newest church was built on 1964, the oldest one was built around 300 A.D. very beautiful church, and those gifts were given by countries all over the world are quite interesting. Long shirt or dress is better.

One of the amazing churches in Israel. I was amazed by all the Maria mosaics around the church and inside the church. It let you understand the different point of view of Maria and art around the globe. The church is huge, inviting, beautiful and interesting.It is a must-visit place in Israel.

a very special place with unique story. the church itself quite new and was built upon the ruins of the origins of st. mary...many illustrations from around the world were sent here for display and you sense that this is a piece of history. there is no entrance fee and many pilgrims come here for spiritual charging.

An impressive churchYet Jesus brought the news away :-)The building is decorated with the outer wall in mosaics of various countries of the world.The feeling in the place is of uplifting and calmness

This is the place of Mother Marys home. It was here that Angel Gabriel appeared to her to convey Our Fathers message choosing her to be the mother of Jesus. And it was here that Mary said yes. This place doesnt have the prehistoric architectural look since it was built in 1969. Nevertheless a beautiful place to be in person and feel the holy vibes.

Its an interesting modern structure for sure. But it lacked a very spiritual vibe. The usher kept shouting that people should be quiet and even though the church is quiet new it didnt feel "alive" I wouldnt recommend anyone to visit unless youre in the Nazareth area anyway.

Very pretty church and courtyard, and not very crowded!There is a little chapel inside as well as a larger church, and an archaeology museum.Do take moment to look up inside the chapel and church at the ceiling- they are gorgeous!

If in Nazareth then one has to visit this church for many reasons. Do take a guide or read the history of the monument to know what is the significance. Do not take a car as the lanes are really small. However its a beautiful place and very different from the other cities in Israel. Do see the museum and the church from both the floors.

9.3.17 - its a pretty church on the outside with a cool interior. There are two levels to the interior. We were only able to the see the lower level because there was a wedding ceremony on the upper floor, which I think is the main floor. The lower floor has some historic element to it.The exterior of the church is surrounded by mosaics of the Virgin Mary and Jesus represented by country, which was pretty cool considering each country had its own general interpretation of the image.Its worth checking out considering there isnt much to do in Nazareth.
