Baroque-style Franciscan complex with an ornate church sanctuary, an abbey & the Huichol Museum.
Beautiful church at night! The church is filled with details inside and out. Parking is available in a structure under the church. Lively atmosphere at night with vendors of sweets (churros, gorditas, candied yam and plantains), souvenirs, and food. Nice area to walk around; art sculptures, Zapopan letters, and music. You will also find the "Arcos de Zapopan".

So so,almost good .
Aesthetics, architecture, and history.
The plaza surrounding the basilica is currently under renovation. The street food (though deliciousis overpriced. For example a small cup of corn (esquitecost $1 to $1.25 USD but the same size here cost about $2.50 USD. Its worth the price if you are tourist thats just visiting but not sustainable for a Mexican family when minimum wage is $8 USD per day.
Little trip from Guadalajara on metro L3
Nice and peaceful and quiet. Front entrance under construction but still have ok access.
Beautiful area and the church is amazing.
Cool place to visit in Zapopan. Felt secure.
Amazing seeing old buildings , beautiful.
Beautiful rich decorated church in the downtown of Zapopan. Must see and directly situated at a nice townsquare where many activities are organized or where you can get coffee and refresments to get back on your feet again.
Nice ambience but not a lot of choice for food. Basically you just go here to drink.
A spectacular church, a peaceful place to pray and this is the one of the history spot to visit if you go to Guadalajara .
beautiful place
Such an amazing place. I recommend coming here because they sell so much food and souvenirs. At night they turn the Basilicas lights on, and its quite the view!
It is a very famous tourist cathedral and full of history. It is the house of the Virgin of Zapopan.
Nice church, if youre into that kind of thing. Admission is well organised and its free. But there is a gift shop you must go through at the exit.Yeah... that is a great analogy to catholicism, isnt it? Free to enter, guilt trip at the end
Beautiful cathedral and down town....
After 50 years wen back to my home townAwesome
Beautiful place to visit. You’ll find street vendors and restaurants all over the place. If you’re looking for souvenirs this is the best place to find one. The cathedral itself is beautiful and breathtaking place. I went today the 16th September and there were not many people. It was kinda quite.
Very Basilica great place to worship and pray. People visiting are very friendly and polite.

Our hosts brought us around the old city Zapopan on a Sunday night and it was delightful. Beautiful sights, sounds and local treats.
Beautiful place for a sunday stroll. Lots of family and food vendors available.
A very pretty place in a nice location. The personal of this church is taking the right measurements in light of the ongoing pandemic.
Beautiful place to visit. The whole area has vendors and food but the basilica itself it breathtaking. Make this a stop on your journey.Wonderful vendors to choose from and a communal area to visit in the evenings and eat.
A place of prayer. Devoted atmosphere. Popular Marian Shrine. Has all you need for a good encounter with the Lord in prayer. The Basilica of Our Lady of Zapopan in Jalisco Mexico.
Loved it besides the fact there were many restrictions. Cathedral is beautiful.
Beautiful place to visit
Spectacular church! I proposed to my fiance here. Both the inside and outside are majestic. Definitely puts you in a prayerful and thankful mood.
Beautiful Basílica the architecture is outstanding a must see on your visit to Guadalajara.
Came to visit from California. The architecture here is beautiful and the little souvenir shops are great to spend your time to look at.
Try the local market! Dont be afraid to explore! The foods are amazing and the people are super friendly! Is cheap, unique and a great experience!
Gorgeous basilica in the city of Guadalajara. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, and its a perfect setting for weddings or just to visit. I did not attend Mass there, but the Father who delivered the wedding I attended was very charismatic and performed a moving wedding.
This place brought me back to my childhood 🥰
Very beautiful cathedral and plaza!!! A lot of restaurants, souvenir shops and vendors selling local items/food!!!
Nice place to visit, the church is beautiful inside and lots to do and see outside but outside isnt as beautiful cause of the littering by us humans plus lots of poverty around the area.. Little kids asking for money
It is one of my favorite places to spend an evening with friends, family or just by myself. We normally go to mass, eat, and then go for entertainment after. Lots of restaurants have live music.
Procession of the Virgen of Zapopan after 8:00 PM mass on Saturdays followed by light show. Many good vendors in plaza in front of Basilica. Interesting religious store.
It is an outstanding place, it looks amazing at night. While spending some time there, as every spot in Mexico, take care of your belongings.
Beautiful historic Catholic Basilica in a great shopping area. This basilica is amazingly beautiful & honestly gave me chills the 1st time I visited years ago. It is truly breathtaking.
Incredible place, they have a special room dedicated to St. John Paul II, and theres a monastery in the back of the basilica.
History right in front of you. Beautiful to enter!Great square in front of it with a little market on Sundays and lots of activities like dancing mayans.
This is an absolutely beautiful Basilica! There are flower vendors outside on the plaza if you wish to leave flowers before or after your prayer. After visiting our Lady of Zapopan you can enjoy music, food, shows and shopping around the plaza. From traditional indigenous clothing, art, jewelry and crafts, to abundant religious figurines, jewelry and art. Its family friendly and safe to enjoy. During my visit several police men patrolled around the area of the plaza through out the whole day. You can arrive and leave by bus which is only about 7 pesos or take a taxi from the many awaiting for customers or an Uber. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Zapopan, Guadalajara
Is beautiful and warming church. Also its a grate place to visit the square outside, it has very often cultural events c:
Facing a huge square, art and religion blend among delightful walks.
Very beautiful basilica in Zapopan where they just held the festival for Our Lady of Zapopan!
A beautiful church that was built in 17th century. A worthwhile trip to visit.
Great place to visit.bring the whole family.restaurants, street food, jewelry, clothing and museums. Its like the Centro of zapopan.there are indigenous performances in the courtyard of the basilica.plaza de Las Americas is across the basilica.go on the weekends when there might be events.
This church, located in the Zapopan district, is one of the most beautiful churches Ive seen thus far in Mexico. On the day we arrived, they were preparing for a funeral so it was interesting to see how they did it based on their custom. The architectural detail outside is amazing. Along side of the church is the center district with many small streets filled with businesses and places to eat. The cab fare from the expo area cost 130 pesos.
