Stunning baroque church that amazed me. Excellent visitor welcome and personal audio guide included in price. Virtual reality goggles were located in two places and were amazing, giving me a perspective I couldnt imagine. So much history I couldnt take it all in, so take your time. Maybe a second trip?

I was blown away with the art and the precious artifacts here. Absolutely breathtaking when you first walk in there and Gods presence was strong.so beautiful, so exquisite the art they have there. A place to reflect and contemplate in pure silence. Lots to see and absolutely mind blowing. Worth a visit

Visited in September 2022. Tickets at 7 Euro each includes audioguides. Has to be seen to be believed. Short walk from Granada Cathedral. Only takes about an hour to complete entire complex.

Amazing place even if you are not religious or Christian, it is a must. It is 7 euros and it has an amazing 3d experience, museum and church display.

This is a dont miss stop. The church is beautiful even if it is a little gawdy. The audio guide was excellent, and would be impossible to understand everything without it. I have been in hundreds of European churches and this is one of the most interesting. You are allowed up to the second level, which was filled with more treasures including bones and skulls of various priests. This is a dont miss stop in Granada.

Unreal experience, this church has to be among the most gilded in Europe. Also has a light show that wasnt advertised 30minutes before closing.

I was speechless when I entered into this place. It’s beyond my expectations and imagination. I lack words to describe it magnificence and artistic effects. I think people need to come and see with their own eyes to have the experiences I’m talking about. I think it’s more a museum than a church.

May even be better than the cathedral. There is a sound and light show that tells the story of the church.

Stunning, preferred this to the cathedral. Particularly enjoyed being able to walk around the upstairs part. Also, the lemon trees in the courtyard were nice.

If you want to feel the weight of suffering, adoration, wealth and craftsmanship of the Catholic Church, this is the place. For 1 Euro in the slot you can illuminate the whole place and feel a little like God must have felt at the beginning of creation. As a lapsed Catholic, it brought it all home once more.

Basilica San Juan de Dios is an absolutely must to do in Granada. It was a fantastic experience, easy to walk around with a few stairs to get up behind, beautiful views where ever you look, super audio, kind and very helpful staff. Well worth the 5€ entry fee.

To be honest do not know what to think about and might be biased. On one side it is very interesting and from the architecture nice, on the other inside overloaded and somewhat creepy. Creepy because of all the relicts, blood drops and stone parts of the tumb of John Paul II, skulls from other people, call them saints, fingers, bones, and more body parts. Now maybe some do find this fulfilling for their religion, but I dont think it works for me.

Highly decorated and a multitude of things to seen. No square centimeter is untouched for decorating. Most of the object are gold-plated which give you the feeling of s treasurie room.

This place is an absolute must-see. I’ve never seen anything as ornate short of La Sagrada Familia. Plus there are skulls everywhere from saints which is totally metal. Best 5 euro we’ve spent in our 10 days in Spain.

A small cathedral that will leave you speechless. The gold and woodwork that is in this church is impressive. It left a much larger impression on me that many of the bigger churches I’ve been to. The work and wealth put into a minor church is well worth the journey.

Most fancy beautiful basilica Ive ever been in. MUST GO SEE. MUST. What makes it especially amazing besides being maybe the fanciest, most ornate place in the world, (great example of Spanish Baroque architecture), is the ability to walk most anywhere, including up the balconies and behind the altar and apse. Into the sacristy, and up the sides onto the 2rd and 3rd stories and reliquary chamber.

I went there this afternoon expecting to see yet another basilic/cathedral/church you almost feel jaded to visit when youve been sight-seeing in large cities of Spain for ten days. But here it IS hard not to be amazed. You have close access to the relics, painting and exposed material, as well as porches to get a new sight on the nave. The audio guide provides dense information. Realy worth the entrance fee.

If you only visit one religious site in Granada it should be this one! Unprecedented access to all areas including climbing up behind the altar. Very ornate. Nice size.

Im not that big a fan of cathedrals but this one is worth seeing. Not over priced for admission & includes an audio tour. Found the guide tedious but the first part were worth it for its history. Plenty see in the surrounding neighborhood, sites, shopping & food .

If you only have time for one church in Granada, this is it. Incredible display of gold and silver surrounding venerated bones of various people. The main thing to see starts with 8 and 9 on the audioguide (the upstairs reliquary area), which is the end of the audioguide tour.

Worth a visit, especially as you can get quite high up and see the opulence close up. Im scared of heights but felt safe enough to look over the balconies down into the church. Worth the 5 euros to get in and you get a free audio tour (although its a bit dull).

Muy precioso and very unique;the detail is beyond description. The magnificent gold objects and relics kept in the upstairs room must be seen to be believed. Be sure to light the interior of the church with a one Euro coin for a spectacular view of one Spain’s most impressive examples of the Andalusian Baroque period.

Favorite church in Granada! Very impressive baroque style, nothing is left undecorated! They have audioguides that give a very detailed description of the architecture and of the history if san Juan de Dios. Definetly recommended. Costs 4€ to enter with audioguide included.

Very interesting place for pure baroque excess. I really liked the gilding, although it borders kitsch. I preferred the churches of São Francisco and of Santa Clara in Porto, Portugal. Theyre equally gilded but more tasteful.

For not all too much money (very littleyou can get a nice audiotour of this interesting Basilica de San Juan de Dios, who lived in this city for most of his life. His remains are kept here in the basilica, which you can see during the tour. You can take as much time as you want. Also nice to visit if you are not religious. A lot of gold and ivory.

Incredible. This church will leave you speachless. Golden decorations almost on every surface. Someway, its style looks more similar to the one of an opera theater than the one of a church. Decorations color changes with respect to liturgical year. Best moment to visit this church is during celebration, since all lights will be turned on resulting in a stunning wow effect. By so far, the most beautiful church I visited in Granada.
