Not sure who designed this basilica, but they should have their licenses revoked. Similarly, the entire interior design crue should be rounded up and shot. However, there is a great view of the beautiful Tegucigalpa from the front porch.

The only minor Basilica of Honduras. Famous for hosting the celebrarion in honor of Suyapa Virgin. They also host exhibits of religious artifacts.

Was attending a special event with Bishops from across the Carribean and Latin America. The liturgy was supported by the choir from the major seminary. The Basilica houses the statue of Nuesta Señora de Suyapa, patroness of Honduras. It is well worth a visit and do not forget to see the museum in the back of the church on the upper level. A elevator is under construction for future visitors.

This cathedral is beautiful with a modern stained glass exhibit that is easy to read and not overly embellished like more historic pieces. While it does not have the murals and decorations of some of the older and more historic cathedrals in Central and South America, the simplicity goes a long way in conveying how clean and humble this cathedral is. It is worth a look if you like visiting Cathedrals.
