Ok
If you like old historical churches, then this is one to add to your list next time youre in Milan, Italy. It dates back to the late 4th century and is the oldest church in Milan. When we went in June there were only about 6 other people visiting the church at the time, so not at all crowded. The church is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring all of it. We were definitely glad that we paid the small €2 fee to get into the Chapel of Saint Aquilino! We got to see old fragments of the original frescos and some mosaics dating back to the 4th century. From there you can access a type of crypt which had some of the original building parts. Out in front of the church are some 3rd century Roman columns. This is a gem that will not disappoint those who love old architecture!
MoreMagnificent building with old Roman solumns in front. Perfect place to take a rest when browsing in Milan.
MoreNice place around.
Stunning beauty that is always in walking distance to enjoy. Nothing more to be said than enjoy the ancient columns and extravagant architecture of the basilica.

MoreThe church was being restored but it was beautiful nevertheless.
The church is under renovation and the middle part of the church is closed for construction purpose. The paintings are amazing inside and I walked around the main hallway to see some nice statues and engravings
MoreIts a beautiful church but nothing really special and unique and many graphite around it, can go and see but dont go especially to it.
MoreYou havent been to Milan when you havent seen the basilica.
Nice square but lots of trash bins placed in the view of a good picture spots. Need to re-arrange them out of main view
MoreMaybe I am hard to impress but this is a fairly average church and not so well kept. If its on your way, visit; if not, give it a miss.
MoreBeautiful both inside and outside.
A former Roman Basilica you feel the history here (+ the movida in the nearby at night)
MoreIts a historic place.i think one should visit this if its around.its artistic like every other place in italy..

Lots of interesting art -- both modern and old. This stunning church at the center of the city is well worth the stop.

Moreone of the oldest churches in Milan built in roman times..
The St. Aquilino chapel is closed under renovation. Otherwise it’s a tranquil historical church to visit.
MoreThe church is a fantastic spot with beautiful vaulted ceilings and large open spaces. Absolutely loved all the paintings and statues.
MoreBeautiful sight to see when walking by. Its surprisingly quiet and relaxing even though its right next to the street, so you can sit down there for a little while. You can also go inside, its free.
MoreVery beautiful and historical building.Becomes more beautiful at night with the lighting...
MoreWell worth a visit - spend the 2 euros to visit the remanents of the mosaics and the foundations excavated in 1913.
MoreRemains of Early Christian Basilica. Alas too few of original interiors survived. Anyway you are going to see some mosaics and frescoes. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light.
MoreHas a feeling of great age and permanence. Beautiful fragments of mosaics and frescoes from different ages. And Im sure I saw the drawing of an elephant.
MoreNice church with a rich history reflected by its interesting architecture and decorative pieces. Location of s. Aquino urn.
MoreIf I dont mistake this church is one of the oldest in Milan city. Inside the church you can pay to visit the Romans mosaic on the wall ;-)
MoreImpressive basilica, though I expected a little more. Architecture-wise it is beautiful, but the decorations are somehow missing.
MoreHeritage architecture at its finest. Im not a religious person, however, architecturally this is amazing, inside and out.
MoreThe church is calm and serene. The mosaic work exhibited is worth visiting and spending a few minutes for.
MoreThis church is most recognizable for its columns out in front. The columns seem to be a pretty popular location to meet friends. The church dates back to the fourth century. The church is free to enter. There are not too many painting inside the church. However, there is a small fee (maybe 3 eurosfor entrance into the small side chapel which features mosaics.
