Basilica Pizzería Café in Cartagena

Came here twice the 4 days we were in Cartagena, so so so good. Best Hawaiian pizza.

The food is really good here. Ordered pesto pasta + a pesto pizza. The combination was incredible. We had a pretty good sized group with us so we also ordered 2 Pepperoni pizzas + a Mediterrean salad + a Ceasar chicken salad. The salads were incredible. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to sit outside in the Courtside area. Defibtely a top spot and am planning to go back.

Edit: Thank you for replying to my comment, I really appreciate it. I am changing my rating to 5 but keep in mind that it was one of the waiters who told me the dough contains milk when I asked them. Too bad because I wanted to eat at your pizzaria...I didnt actually eat at this place and I hate that my review contributes negatively to the rating of this pizzaria but I am so tired of vegetarians writing vegan reviews... I asked and the pizza dough contains milk. It is NOT vegan. Keep this in mind if you are vegan or intolerant/allergic.

Beware of the staff here. Our waiter tried to demand a tip after we paid with a credit card. He tried to crumple up the receipt after I asked to see it to confirm the service charge was already included. Message to the owner: You should fire staff that tries to cheat and take advantage of your customers. It reflects extremely poorly on your restaurant.

We ordered pizzas and pasta. Got served quickly. Really nice atmosphere and great food.Friendly staff, especially Andreas!

This place has honest and kind staff! I left my hat and sunglasses on a table outside and the staff kept them inside for the night so that I could pick them up the next day! I was so relieved.I ate fettuccini bolognese which appeared to be a traditional recipe that was brown in color. The sauce was flavorful and full of meat. The fettuccine was cooked well. I prefer my pasta a little firmer.The coconut lemonade was delicious.The brownie with ice cream was okay. The ice cream tasted nice, but the brownie was a bit dry. Lucky the ice cream gave the brownie just enough moistness.If I return to this restaurant I will try the pizza next time.

Clean and great food. We had the eggplant and Basilica pizza. The basil lemonade was great. I recommend this place.

Horrible. Unfriendly owner. For the wine you pay 5 dollars and get one tiny sour sip of disgusting wine. They dont bring the food at the same time, when some almost finished, the last orders were served. The pasta was disgusting. The completely forgot the salt - in the pasta itself and the sauce. The sauce didnt taste like anything, no spices at all. The pizza was mediocre. Would never come here again.

Getsemani has pizza places everywhere. I can’t speak to the others, but the pizza here was off the charts. Seriously, one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Can’t tell you which one it was, but our waiter, who was wonderful btw, recommended it to us. Note that this place is a bit off the beaten path, but worth searching out. While we were trying to find it, a guy from another restaurant tried to get us to come in. In my poor Spanish, I said I was sorry but that we were looking for Basilica Pizza Cafe. He laughed because we were right in front of it. People in Colombia are some of the nicest and friendliest people I’ve met!

The orders sometimes are waiting to somebody to remember pick it up and serve to the customers... Like my coffe and milk and if u wanna full ur stomach this is ur place. No sense of flavor.The fans are so fast and furious with the cayenne and oregano for the pizza that is impossible to put in them some.

Super cute place with terrific service. Is a nice respite from the chaos of the neighborhood. Pizza was good (but not amazingand cocktails were just ok. Beer was deliciously cold though and the service was great. Definitely worth checking out.

This restaurant was near the restaurant we ate at. The square had live music and such a vibrant happy atmosphere the 4 of us spent 3 hours at dinner. Going back tomorrow.

Still no words to describe.. lets start off positive: the staff is very friendly and well attentive, but thats about it.The sangria basically had no taste and the pizza I ordered (Arrabiatawas one of the very worst Ive eaten. Undercooked, very little taste and much more cheese than the menu (Mozzarellaindicated. One of the guys never got his pizza and just left, which was after we already had been waiting for an hour (there werent many people, it certainly wasnt busy)For its location and the fact basically only tourist show up here I found the quality worth a one star...

A friend got to choose between two pasta types, and got the wrong one. It took forever to get a second drink (water). But my pizza was great.

Stay away - this is a Tourist scam . I my opinion I strongly suggest all positive reviews are fake. This has nothing to do with an Italian restaurant. The appetizers, pasta and pizza are not close to any Italian dish, as they are missing basic ingredients like sauces, and after all taste. No one in this restaurant is Italian, and after confronting we have been told that they received the recipes from a Italian person, lol. Every frozen pizza/ pasta is probably 100x times better.

Im vegetarian and they had good vegetarian pizza options. The pizzas were crisp and delicious. The pizzas came out quick and the staff was friendly. The menu is written in English and Spanish. The menu indicates vegetarian options with a green leaf. You can also get the pizzas without cheese if you are vegan.

Great pizza on a great quiet plaza. The decor is beautiful inside and outside, and the plaza is generally quiet and tranquil. The pizzas are good.We got a pesto and a four cheese, and both were great. They both had lots of flavor, and i could find no faults. Its not the best of my life, but its great pizza. The house wine goes good with it too.

This pizzeria was an excellent choice, we went with our staff and everything was great and everyone was completely satisfy with their friendly service and deliciousness of pizzas. Pizzas are the best, they even won an important pizza competition! If you are reading this you have to go if you are in Cartagena, do not miss it! Also you get to sit in a beautiful small square where you can enjoy street art an street musicians that come a go all the time performing local songs, salsa an more!

Best pizza in Cartagena. Delicious thin crust with a huge variety of options. Go for one of their specialties and you wont regret it. The location is about a block from La Plaza de la Trinidad on a quaint little square with interesting artwork all around. Super friendly staff and courteous service. This is the place to go if youre in the mood for a pie and fancy a beautiful walk around Getsemani.

Great restaurant on a romantic square. Food is delicious and staff is very friendly. I have eaten here several times and last time I also brought some cans of cat food for the sweet but skinny stray cats on the square. Maybe you can think of them too?

We enjoyed our pizza and the atmosphere. Service was good and we lived the music on the street. The whole neighbourhood was alive on this Saturday night. I believe they play every night. I would recommend you to come and enjoy a nice pizza and experience this neighborhood.

It is a great place to enjoy a good pizza with the traditional recipe brought from Italy to Cartagena a millenary recipe that stays inside the heart and palate a hidden place unmissable near the center of Cartagena where you can enjoy tranquility good atmosphere and above all great quality of food. a highly recommended place in attention, price and quality service.

Came here as reviews for their pizzas were good. The pizzas listed come with pomodoro sauce. Should have been a normal pizza dining experience. IT WASNT. The pizzas we got had a layer of brown, thick, unpleasant sauce. We asked the waiter and he said thats what pomodoro is. Apparently tomatoes with herbs and spices (not garlic, and olive oil). Must be the Colombian or the chefs way. It was very disappointing. Highly suggest changing the menu from pomodoro to house pizza sauce. They also used too much cheese which didnt taste like real mozzarella and was very oily.

This is a great pizzeria in the Getsemani area. They had seating inside or outside in the square. We were seated immediately and even though our Spanish was terrible, the waiter was very patient. The pizza was great. I ordered the Getsemani while my wife ordered pepperoni. Both were very good and tasted very fresh. If you are wanting pizza, it is definitely worth the walk or taxi ride from anywhere in Cartagena. Do not feel intimidated if your Spanish is not up to snuff. We will definitely return!!

I would say a five from an overall experience..the food is not exceptional but the street performers and the ambience is worth it! A romantic outdoor experience

Great pizza. Had the Arbiatta. Also tried an app and pasta dish. All amazing. They had chili flakes and oil and oregano flakes and oil which was a nice touch. Great service and great space. Try to sit outside.
