Generous portions of quick-serve Middle-Eastern specialties in a cafeteria-style outfit.
Food and service is average. Exactly what you’d expect from a Lebanese fast food place. They do offer a discount for students though. Pretty nice.
The shawrma was not wrapped properly and the staff was totally unfriendly and aggressive.
Best Basha 😍😍😍 so good and worth it !
Go to Boustan, their food is fresh and worth your money.I think this place is always empty for a reason. The food is terrible and expensive. My shawarma was not properly wrapped so when I opened the wrapper, 80% of the filling spilled out (not that I wanted to eat it in any case). I had to throw my whole meal out. It also doesn’t help that the staff is unfriendly and not listening to your requests.
The food was bland at best , not a great Arabic food place
Worse service and food quality ever, the food is old and dry, the meat tasted acid, the knife and fork were sticky and dirty, the they had a bad actitud about the complain. I had to drop all the food with out eating them.
The meat is a bit dry, but now that Im a vegan, I dont care because they actually have an amazing selection of salads and the potatoes and garlic sauce are delicious. Edit: prices are up, quality is down. Not what it used to be.
Worst service he talks on the phone does not care about you and your order+Don’t ask for a single hot pepper or turnip he will get madIt tastes good tho
Really bad experience! Overpriced for the quality! Not tasty food the other basha are better.
If there was an option for zero stars, I would give it ZERO. I expected they would serve fresh food mid-day. Chicken was as dry as leather. Completely uneatable! We literally brought our plates to the cash after taking 2 bites. Rice was reheated multiple times & very hard, almost broke a tooth. You would think since its a chain, the quality of the food would be up to par!Avoid this location at all costs.
Horrible restaurant! The chicken was dry and tasteless. The potatoes were old and chewy. My daughter couldnteven eat it! When I complained the man who served it said he can only give us a small 10 % discount. He didnt bother to replace it with something better or at least FRESH! The soda fountain for iced tea spewed out water..but fortunately was able to get a canned drink in replacement. I paid him his money and left my full plate of food..(which I noticed wad also served on a chipped ceramic dishon his counter and left. Never Again will I step foot in here!
The pita and chicken were not soft. The tomato inside the wrap was not soft. The taste was not bad.The person in the counter was super polite.
Good prices for students. The food is ok. Super close to McGill.
Had a bad experience two times in a row. Im completely fine with having one bad experience because its natural to have bad days at any business. But the food today was horrible. The wings were like pieces of rock (easily a week old, reheated), the grilled potatoes chewy and hard, and it was just overall a pathetic plate of food (if you can call it that). Please avoid at all costs. The least that a restaurant can do is serve fresh food. Why would customers come to eat reheated food from yesterday or the week back.
At some point in the past I liked the food but not today (I got a plastic bag tie in my sandwich, yum). Also, they arent bothering to check vaccine passports for anyone. I wont be back any time soon.
Dry chicken, über vinagry salad, overly salty turnips. Really disappointed. The only plus is the regular basha prices, given downtown location. Make portions smaller, or increase prices but work on quality, please,
Great flavor and tasty food. I had the Shawarma platter and it was very abundant. The prices are decent and the place is as any other shawarma place. I love shawarma and this was a good one.
Very rude staff and customer service experience. Ordered today at 6.15pm. I waited over 10 minutes to be served not because of lineup, because the cashier was busing talking on the phone without even seeing me waiting. Then someone else supposedly came to served. Took my order but again was busy doing other stuff. Ask them why they ignored me, just talked back to me rudely and had not even a sorry. I find this experience very disrespectful as a customer. Food also is not that good as reviews. Skip this place whenever you can!
Food tastes good. Good portions for price. I just wish they would stop talking over the foods. The cashier and the person serving the food keep talking while the server is serving the food.
Bad Customer service I went there today I ordered a pita shawarmaWhen I paid for my order the cashier (Man with Glasseswas Rude and didn’t even place my sandwich in a bag he mention this isn’t a high-end restaurant this is fast food (Take it or Leave it)I’m like the least you can do is place it in a brown paper bag for me he mentions you can do it yourself … I was so upset that I ended up spending my hard earn money there. I attempted to speak with the manager I don’t think he understood my complaint and my frustration.Make a long story Terrible customer service Overall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Zero 00000000000000 Stars
I’ve been coming here for years. Especially in 2019. The food is always good. Even before closing time. Staff is very nice. All of them. The chef 👩🍳 is real real good. There are many Lebanese restaurants in town but the food is only good during the rush hour. It’s not the fault of the owners it’s the lack of Middle Eastern foodies out there. In the Middle East, this type of food is super popular and restaurants are busy throughout the day or night. This Basha place gets 5 stars and deserves lots of customers. The other Basha on Saint Catherine is not a place I recommend. Sorry to say that. I gave them more than one chance on taste and freshness and I kept getting disappointed.
Student discount offered for some options! Bring your student card.Tried the falafel sandwich trio and loved it. Do recommend.
The quantity of food and service level will depend on who is serving you. Thankfully, the food is mostly alright with chicken (shish taoukbeing a tad on the dry side.
The best way to describe this Basha is that it is inconsistent. Sometimes the chicken is juicy with some delicious crispy bits, sometimes its dry. Sometimes you get old potatoes in the middle of lunch hour supplemented with fries, sometimes theyre fresh and well-spiced. The rice is always good though.I have had good service from the cashier, and while the service staff is a bit stiff theyre far from rude.
Is the cashier with the glasses getting paid enough? because customer services is terrible, she is rude and cold i came twice once alone and another time with my friend and she yelled and disrespected my friend because my friend asked her for ketchup and the cashier told her in a rude way if she sees any ketchup in front of her and to next time to not ask for it when she done paying to ask when she is ordering the food. If you dont like your job, dont put on customer who is paying for the service. We are not eating for free.Fix yourself and maybe smile more!
Delicious chicken, and superb potato wedges. I had a whole chicken platter along with a couple of pitas and left with a full stomach. The ambience is okay too and the location is perfect for students in the vicinity of McGill. My oft repeated complaint, one I will probably repeat on most reviews is the cold attitude of the staff. I sometime wonder if its my face.Standard disclaimer : Im an Indian student studying in montreal. I am a man of limited means and have no knowledge of french. Im no entitles slob though and ensure I behave and always pay tips.
The first time I went there I had a horrible shish taouk, dry and not tasteful. I told myself never to go there anymore. I went again yesterday because I was in a hurry and again the shish taouk was not good, not as bad as the first time, but still not good. It was dry and the service was bad. I have to wait 5 minutes before someone noticing I was there, nobody was in front, then the guy that was going to prepare my sandwich looked upset. Definitely not going there ever again.
Very generous portions at reasonable prices. The meat may be a little bit dry, but the garlic potatoes are love.
Worst shawarma Ive ever been to. For Montreal shawarma standards this is barely a two out of five. I dont recommend unless youre dying from hunger. Dry chicken and bad salad. Im Moroccan and Im embarrassed of their couscous. To sum it up dont come here.
Horrible horrible horrible!! 3.3 stars is way too high. Staff was very rude. Told us the store is closed, even though there was 1 hour left. Allowed his Arab friends sit and dine while we had to go outside and eat. Food tasted like canned food and uncooked. Very disrespectful customer service.
Food is decent. The salad has a "zesty" generic dressing to it, definitely go for something like rice or one of the nicer salads they have. I asked for onions on top of beef mixed in with some sesame sauce, guy at the counter gave me attitude said onions on the salad is the same thing and left it as is.Hes preparing a plate to my specifications but then questions how Id like my plate assembled, definitely dont get the logic here.Might go back since its fairly prices and convenient, unless I find another place in the area.EDIT: I found another location for Lebanese/Mediterranean style food in the Promenades Cathedrale food court. This is the place Ill be going from now on, not going to this Basha again, the service nor the food was on par with what I experienced elsewhere.
I have gone here emergency style several times and was repeatedly disappointed at the low quality of this cold food every single time. I always went back thinking it would be better next time, and it never was. Definitely the worst Basha I have been to, and Im not going back anymore. A&W down the street is fantastic food next to this place.
Such a fantastic place. Their portions are generous and theyre very nice. Theyre food is not overly salted which doesnt leave you feeling bloated like other shawarma places. Very traditional preparation too.
Cheap place and disgusting food. There shawarma tastes like boiled chicken. For $15 this is way too pricey. You can go to shateau kabab and have far better shawarma combo for less. I really hope you go somewhere else and spend your money. The food is not worth it!
Food was good, portions were large, the dining area was clean. My only issue, the staff werent the friendliest.
Food is okay but they really got to look into keeping the place clean. There is food on the ground and the place is really dirty. The bathrooms are really bad with urine overflowing and also on the bathroom floor. One of the worst bathrooms I have ever seen in a restaurant. There are also flies that are flying over my food while eating. What else can I say!
The food is inedible. I ordered a chicken poutine and they refried their old french fries and forgot to add chicken and barely put the poutine sauce so the poutine was very dry. The chicken was tasteless and dry. Would never eat here again.
No nonsense Lebanese food. Its a franchise so you know what to expect. Good quality food but nothing particularly special.
Great food! Good prices. Service was atypical but well-meaning and friendly.
Google showed the closing time to be 11pm, so we got there at 10pm. The server had a look of what the hell these people are doing here, he wanted to close the store asap. Half the menu items were not available. Anyway we ordered from what was there and sat down, meat and falafel was extremely dry and very uneatable. Around 10.30pm, this guy comes and tells us we are closing in 5 mins, some the good were not even half way down. Pathetic food and service.
Its face to Mcgill University and down to Tim Horton. For muslim peoples all food is halal and they accept all age and group. I saw they make order for group but its say you have to call early on morning time or one day prior morning time to u put your name, phone number and what you need because they will tell you the rate and you have to came pickup the delivery. You need to deliver so go on Uber Eat or Just eat and if you have any allergic or any comment or anything just add in your order to let them know. From the menu when you order & if you have allergic tell them what you need on your sandwich and plate because this way its better😉. You can choose healthy plate its so good. Also when i was eating i heard customers say best Basha & best food & amazing and so delicious. Its cheapest from other Basha and from other restaurant. All grillade plate ( basha grillade, steak, kafta, shrimp, brochette poulet, shish kebab, mergueztake 10 to 12min but its so good to try. Its all frech and homemade and best lebanese food. They have Poutine regular or with chicken or with beef or with beef and chicken but for poutine you have to wait at least 7 min to they prepare. Dont forget all rate on menu you have to add tx because the law not authorize to put price with tx. So for example if you see 12.61 so its 12.61 + tx. Try basha on 666 Sherbrooke ouest you will not regret and they accept all card. You can pay by Us money but they cant exchange as they arent bank so sorry for that. The decor need to work but im ok as is now. Just put the decoration in a way to not speak about it and think positiv. To use wifi there is no key it s so simple just ask the username and password. For thoses who put negativ comment and bad things im sorry for you but its exagered and not appropriate. Enjoy the meal 😉
Used to like this place, meat was tasty and the long purple thing was on point 👌👌.Now i have to salt my food here. The quality really went downhill. DO NOT TRY the poutine.
Nice place to sit down. Staff is ok. A lot of times the food tastes old. Not my favorite place, but they do offer markouk sandwiches which others dont. Not bad overall, but nothing special.
Big place. Very well located. Good lebanese food. Prices are correct.
Racists!! The customer service is HORRIBLE.. I asked for a small portion of just chicken, to add to my salad I prepped at my office. The ``manager`` refused and said ``$15 or you buy potatoes and rice``, he was cold, rude and unprofessional (he wouldn`t even make eye contact with me). Went to the Basha in the Eaton Centre and asked for chicken, they were kind and friendly they charged $5 and there was no problem.
Very good place for a quick bite. I love their garlic potatoes. There are some days where they dont make them as good. But most of my experiences have been great.
very impolite service! I ordered a vegetarian plate but served with seafood without notification. When I ate to half and went to told them about it, they said its all my responsibilities, etc. Anyway, I will never go this place again. I will not support those who dont know respect people.
The food is really bad for the price that is worth. And when I call them to say that my chicken was burned and it seemed that it was a few days old. They just give excuses and they wont do any thing to make the client happy.
Best Lebanese chain restaurant and Best Basha. Almost always fresh and well cooked. GREAT variety of salads. Service is OK.
Misunderstanding of costumers choices, impatience, rudeness; always the fault of the costumer, since they always find an excuse for their mistakes. I have gave to this Basha restaurant the benefice of doubt 3 times. Awful service.
