Its a pleasant place for the hangout with friends or family. The status is huge and the underneath it, a circular museum depicting the various stages and events in the life of Basavanna.The garden surrounding the status is also surprisingly maintained well, compared to usual parks and garden around Gadag.Do not expect the shadow of the greens as the garden doesnt have large trees, be careful if you are visiting in afternoon to spend time here.Visiting in Morning or Evening is suggested.They need to take care of the statue cleanliness.There is an entrance fees of 20/- per head and No parking fees. There is no dedicated parking space, but you can easily park at the entrance.Boating is also available, seems seasonal.

The garden is dry. Only the statue is of any consequence. Nothing to see or do here. Not a good way to pass the time. No trees or benches to sit and spend time.

This humongous 100+ ft statue of the great Basaveswara can be seen from a mile away. The place is open to tourists from 10 AM and will be open till 6PM. I was there a bit earlier after visiting Saraswati Temple which is only of 10 mins of walking distance. The lady in charge seems punctual as she came at exact time. There is a small entry fee. The place is well maintained. The statue has a great view as it is situated by the side of a lake and surrounded by a park and lawn. There is a shrine and museum dedicated to Basaveswara. The ideal time to visit will be after 4.00 PM as the heat will settle and breeze will be there. The lake is open to boating which is really worth spending the evening. I had no time as I had to visit many other places so went there in the morning. The day was very bright but my energy was saved by cool wind and the nice weather of December.

Palce is very beautiful, but cleaning is must Required, am not talking about garden or lake , I am requesting for statue cleaning as this statue is of more valuable person,.If u are not respecting the great Basaveshwar then what is use of that place .Please its my humble request maintane cleaning of this Basaveshwar statue...🙏🙏🙏

A Calm place with the a good and serene environment - making it even more peaceful and also there is a huge Sri Basavanna Statue with history which makes for a great learning experience. Do visit with family. There is also a lake and nearby.

Good thing is local govt body took a good decision to fill the lake through tungabhadra water channel. Now lake looks better than before. Best place for walking and jogging in Gadag is this road on the bank of this lake. Lake is clean. The breeze here will refresh you. The park around this statue is beautiful but it has timings. Statue is about 111 feet tall. Beneath the statue there are several sculptures that will tell you the story of Basavanna.

On the way from Anegundi to Dharwad, while passing through Gadag, we decided to see Basaveshwara statue. The statue can be seen from the highway.. Id seen it several times since 2014 while passing through the city. So, the day finally arrived.The statue is situated next to Bhishmakere - a 100+ acre lake. Good place to visit. The history of Basaveshwara explained on the walls (inside the basement halls). But no option for food, snacks or Toilets nearby.

The park is pretty well maintained. Boating is not functional... The sculptures depicting his life history are just too good.. worth a visit...

The statue is really awesome. Below the statue there is life history of basavanna which is shown in terms of statues. Important event are shown by statues it self. And no parking charge, only 10 rs entrance charge us applicable.

Basavanna Statue is 111 feet and it is easily visible and have museum below the statue which shows the growth of basavana and his teachings . Nice place to visit with family and friends there is parking space which can hold more vehicles and children play area and also they have provided the boating facility which is value for money .Need to improve the park with planting more trees.and also most of the swings in children play area are broken.

Best place to Hangout with family. Availability of water sports during summer may be less. But gigantic Statue of Basavanna will blow Ur mind.Maintenance of Hygiene is very low. Not recommended to visit after 6.0 PM bcz of insects nd mosquito. Cheers
