River park offering picnicking & trails amid meadow, forest & marsh, some accessible by boat only.
This place was nothing short of amazing. It was my first time, and while I wasnt prepared for the hilly hike, I enjoyed it thoroughly. So many awesome things to see too! Huge variety of mushrooms, wooly aphids, and so many birds and critters!Hiked for 2 hours. Lovely.
The trails and river at the Barton Park, Huron River are beautiful. I saw kayakers and hikers. A great place to be .
We love this park! However, be mindful the trail is now closed on the other side of the dam leading across the train tracks. This messed up our loop quite a bit but we managed
Went π£ fishing here.Didnt catch anything but we had fun π€ππ€βπππ¦
Always a pleasant walk! Trails can be muddy at times
Great place for a hike, ride your bike, go for a nature walk, or get some fishing in
Some amazing trees. Nice hiking trails.
Picturesque bridge. If you are scared of it bouncing, watch out for people jogging across in cadence. It will bounce up and down in an unsettling manner.
beautiful park/preserve. multiple trailheads with parking in the area. connects to other nature areas.
OMG! What a wonderful hidden gem! This alone is worth a day trip
Excellent Ann Arbor Park, what else can I say.. Attended a birding event there.. Heard woodcocks, but have trouble seeing in the dark and they are quite small and fast.
Beautiful place to get the new experience if we go on Summer. Its greenery and will have good view but if you go in winter particularly during snow time.. You will get some scary experience nobody will be there... Mostly less than 10 people while I go. But while seeing the frozen Dam view is a different and amazing experience
Good choice for a quick hiking ππ
Lovely. Rustic, a lot of the trails are just worn dirt through the woods and brush, just a great experience. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed my time, was looking for a spot to shore fish, and was able to walk up and down the bank with a plastic worm and weedless spoon and have decent success over a hour of fishing. Two small pike and two bass.
Great hiking trail, clear signage and markings. A little confusing to find the trail at first, but it was a nice walk through the woods and a good challenge with the uphill parts of the trail. Our dog absolutely loved it.
Beautiful nature area! Very clean. Its a bit of a walk to the water, and a few stairs, but worth it! Great place to bring a blanket and picnic!
Nice trail good for morning run. Has different sights to see
Beautiful dam. Thick lush trees. Hidden away from the bustling city and the university. I see lot of people fishing here.
Everyone I came across was polite and super friendly! Nothing but smiles, awesome views and clear serenity at the falls. Great fishing for the big and little.
Beautiful walk about to see the dam, you are able to walk across the Dam as well. Nice lil park with a pond next to The Dam. Beautiful and peaceful at the picnic tables where the ducks are in the photos. And there is a fire pit there as well.
Like others have said, this is beautiful in the fall. Its a really nice trail and great for running. Id definitely recommend people come explore around here.
Great for a stroll, cycling, running, fishing or chilling with family or friends.
From all Ann arbors parks, this is my favorite one. Its a beautiful area and quite lovely during fall. There are some people doing their jogging. Its also peaceful, I didnt hear the roads that much.
Perfect place for a quick day hike! Very scenic and not too busy at all. Beautiful Fall colors were in full effect so it was a perfect little hike! Highly recommend.
Beautiful spot for waking as well as lazing around.
Beautiful place to go hiking or to just get away from every day life. The best part is its not far and very close to the city even tho at times you feel like youre out in the middle of no where.
Beautiful area, great for walks and fishing! Can be a little crowded at times. WATCH OUT FOR GIANT SPIDERS!
Cool place with lots to do. Bring a camera and some friends.
Nice quiet place with good views and easy trails for taking a hike.
Beautiful spot. I saw: huge carp, an unusual millipede, a variety of birds, and lots of different plant life. The purple irises were in bloom and gorgeous. The dam is neat and the bridges are super cool. The trails are enough to wander around for an afternoon and there is at least one whimsical little stick hut in the trees. Enjoy!
Great for a rainy day walk through woods and fields.
Nice little park to hike and enjoy views of the river and Barton Dam
This is a beautiful place to walk by the river, in woods and fields. Its always fun to see the dam, to walk up the hill and across the top to watch the rushing water and admire the view. I like it at any time of the year.
Beautiful nature area perfect for hiking and running. Sometimes the path can get muddy so bring your rubber boots. Because the train tracks are close by, always make sure doggos are on a leash!
Very beautiful wooded setting, with long and densely forested riverfront with areas that would be great for professional photography. Peaceful and quiet as well, with areas to sit back and relax away from it all. Parking is minimal but there are two access areas, both with bridges across the Huron. The dam is really cool to see. Tons of fishermen at the pond and on the river, which has a boat launch and kayak access at the Northern lot.Great alternative to the Arboretum with way less traffic.
Great fishing 20 inch small mouth great trails for walking bike riding jogging and hiking
This was a great place to walk around in the woods and enjoy the river with a dam on the way.
One of my favorite places to hangout. The river is mighty and beautiful. The dam and the train tracks are impressive. Lots to explore with my doggy.
Great place for a nature walk. Barton Dam also there very enjoyable to walk around. The nature area is popular with those walking dogs. Birds Hills Nature Area across the street of Bird Road (at Huron River Driveis even more awesome.
Always a nice time. Took pup for a walk, the dam is a nice feature. Been going here since I was a kid, super relaxing when it isnt overly busy. Have also done a bit of fishing here too! I know karp are the preferred catch below the dam.
Was great for snowshoeing. Beautiful place and nature views.
Good park for trail hikes. Not a great location for fishing. Remember to have mosquito repellent if visiting in summer. Dam is good and very nice view from the bridge.
A great local park with a ton to offer! Several parking areas with hiking trails, river & pond access (with a portage around the dam+ the usual benches & picnic tables. Great any time of year & popular for running & dag walking :)
Great place for hiking. Beginner trails for mountain biking. The river, the damn, the railroad tracks and the pond are beautiful.
Great place to take your kids especially if theyre fans of water like mine.
Nice nature trail...Peaceful and isolated , at least near dusk on a Sunday evening .Just low-key enough to keep away the masses & not have the feeling of a well-trod, public park. The quiet beauty of flowers and greenery, the sound of the birds and only occasional outside reminders of civilization , mainly some nice foot bridges, and occasionally parallel railroad bed, highway sounds what looks like an old reservoir /water works and a handful of well-placed park benches .There was in my sampling no especially spectacular views but its the aura and feel of the place that makes for an attractive respite . Pluses: The appearance of fireflies as the summer sun went down and the relative lack of bugs in the woods along the trail. However as you go down by the reservoir area it did become very buggy and this seemed good place to turn around anyway with approaching darkness. This makes for a refreshing walk or walk and a bit understated but thats part of its charm. I dont think women would feel especially comfortable running out here by themselves but it makes a good place to go with a partner with only occasional people passing by you.
Beautiful, quiet nature trails along and around the Huron River. Im always surprised by how few people I see here (thats a good thing in my book.)
Its a beautiful quite place to reinvent yourself. The sounds of water is charismatic and charming.
The Barton Dam is beautiful at night. Not sure if youre supposed to swim in the pond, but theres a fishing pier and nobodys stopping you!
