Barrel House in Red Wing

If you are in Red Wing and you are hungry or thirsty and you don’t go here you are completely doing yourself a disservice! Owners are amazing food, service and atmosphere are perfect! Highly recommend!

The owners, Jamie and Mike instantly make you feel like a regular and part of the family. Food, drinks and company were amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone and are looking forward to coming back in the near future.

It was dark as we entered even though our eyes should have been used to the grey day we just step inside and away from. Friendly, good food but it took awhile to get it and even more time to get the ticket. Of course, it was changing shift time.

It was a very busy place one of employees called in sick so it was just the two of them they did a awesome job. And the food was awesome.

What a treat this place is. Jamie, the owner is fantastic. She makes a great drink, and she recommended a fantastic pizza (beer cheese with sausage). Id take her advice on about anything in her bar. Plus, Zoey (pictured belowhelped me out, with my pizza! Ill absolutely be back!

Friendly, personable staff and a cozy atmosphere - the way the interior has been updated it’s hard to believe you’re in the oldest bar in the state!

I love this place but we just came by for their amazing hot dogs, & the buns are gone! They used to have these amazing rolls for buns & now theyre just like bigger hot dog buns. Im so sad...... 😕

Service was very slow for a place that wasnt packed. My food was warm but not hot like I expected. Nice place with good atmosphere if thats all that matters to you.

Best kept secret in Red Wing. Only place with live music on fridays. Classy digs. Thought I was walking into a dive and immediately worried I was under dressed. A wonderful place.

Awesome atmosphere. Great service! Highly suggest the new York style crust on any pizza with a side of beer cheese sauce to dip your crust in! Great bloddy marys. We will be back!

Do yourself a favor and roll in for some pizza fries and an old fashioned! Would have taken photos if we hadnt been so busy scarfing everything down. Its obvious the management cares about their customers and supporting all the other local businesses downtown redwing. Well definitely be back next time were in town.

Our family stopped in for a drink and some appetizers on a Sunday. Jaimie introduced herself and asked our names--that was very nice. Beer selection is very good. I am picky about that. Everything was fantastic.

Stopped in on a recommendation of some friends and were greatly impressed. Wonderful intimate atmosphere and great owners. They have a nice wine and liquor selections along with their beer list.Don’t miss a chance to be impressed!

Good time!! great owners. Had a blast while there.. introduced them to pizza dipper fries from a local bar in our area because they make there own pizzas. Hopefully they throw it on the menu for the rest of the community to enjoy.

This place is so fun! The open mic night is awesome. You can tell the love the owners have for this place. It’s perfect. Definitely will be back.

During the big blizzard on December 10 while we were waiting for a table at the St. James Hotel, we headed down the street to check this place out. The new owners were working the bar and the have beautifully restored this bar that was established in 1886. The woodwork is fantastic and the service was excellent. Recommended.

Been waiting to come here for over a year. Pretty overrated. This is supposed to be the awesome hot dog place. Boring menu. Bartender was nice though

We went on a quick lunch date while our kids were at a birthday party. Phenomenal hot dogs, drinks and service! I think I had The Robinson and my husband had the Don Juan. I have never enjoyed a hot dog that much! Must try!

This place was awesome! Not sure why some reviews are so critical. The hot dogs are super fun and they have so many different toppings to offer! The drinks and games at the table are also a score!!! We will be coming back for sure. Such a fun experience.

Great place to get a fancy hot dog and a beer. Has a punk rock theme, but definitely not a dive bar. The names and themes of the hot dogs are hilarious and theyre done really well. Good beer selection, an eclectic ambiance, and great service make this a fantastic dinner spot in Red Wing.

This place was great. Hot dogs were amazing, drinks were good and the owner was very friendly. Played darts, ate dogs and had drinks. The perfect kind of dive. Highly recommend this place.

I went for my first time and ordered the Luigi pastrami sammich, and I have got to say it was an absolute treat to eat it. I am so glad I stopped and tried their food. I had a nice experience with the customer service as well.

Went here the other day with some friends anticipating some good food. Ordered the Mama Mia. It was underwhelming and under seasoned. What my friends ordered was also just as underwhelming and under seasoned as mine. The pastrami from one of my friend’s sandwiches was over cooked and under seasoned, as if they’d boiled the flavor out. To their credit, the chicken was cooked well, was juicy and tender. But for the price we paid, we’d have gotten better food at McDonald’s. At least going to McDonalds, you know what you’re paying for. I guess when you’re super drunk, anything tastes good. But unfortunately not when you’re sober.

If I owned a bar, this is the kind of bar I would own! Good hot dogs (Jalapopper, Bahn Mi and Robinson were great and the music was awesome. Trivial Pursuit and Would You Rather games at the table were a hit!

This place has a great vibe. The drinks are fantastic, the dogs are delicious, and the staff are cool. Add Mario Kart and a solid music selection into the mix and you have the makings of a great night.

Diverse drinks selection. Food is hot dogs, but there are more hot dogs than you could imagine. Mario Kart available in the back. Very fun. Would come back if in town.Proprietor made fun of me, but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were just trying to be friendly. Compared to the rest of the people in the place, I was an unusual clientele. Better than the similar place nearby.

Was in town for some day hiking, and decided to stop off for a bite and a beer. This place is great. Cool atmosphere, inviting employees, and some great hot dogs! We will be back without a doubt.

Stopped by The Barre House to get some food and a beer after a hike. The food was great and the server was kind. It also had a cool ambiance with good music and art on the walls. I definitely will be back.

What a great place to hang out. Great food and great service! Bartenders and servers are awesome. Did I mention the hot dogs are soooo with it. Added bonus they serve Island City Brewery beer on tap!! Thanks again for the great service

We went for a drive on a beautiful spring day. As we parked the car my husband said we need to find food. A gentleman passing by said go to the Barrel House 1 block down the best hot dog Ive ever had. So, we had to try it. And it was fantastic! Awesome service and great food! Great find for us!

Nice selection of very hearty hot dogs, something for everyone. I’ve had almost all the flavors and like that they try new flavor creations. Good cocktails and beer menu too.

Wife and I and another couple all had a great time at Barrel House. Firstly, they have a top notch beer list that isnt overpriced for the good stuff. Lots of great MN beer here. Secondly, hot dogs were great, my wife is not the biggest hot dog fan but she got the Bahn Mi and loved it. I got the Big Mic and it was top notch, didnt last long. Would definitely return!

This place is awesome! My husband and I stopped in for a beer and ordered the Muffy to split. It was one of the best hot dogs I have had. They have an awesome selection of hotdogs and their beer and cocktail list is pretty awesome as well. Would definitely stop by if you are in Red Wing.

All you could ask for in a Main Street staple. Amazing drinks, each one we had was poured perfectly and not burned. The dogs we had were great. There are so many options that it took us a while to decide! Super friendly and attentive staff. Comfortable and friendly vibe. This will be the first place we go every time we come back to Red Wing.
